Altered Events was the most fabulous company to hire. I SERIOUSLY have no regrets!! They exceeded every expectation I had, their lighting was magical, the owner came to the walkthrough at our venue and was so attentive!! We hired a mirror me booth set up and they gave us a guest photo book to take home after and it’s one of my cherished gifts. Andrew was by far the BEST DJ we could have hoped for!! He was so accommodating and even took the time to text and take some phone calls with me and execute all of my fiancé’s and my weird requests!! He had such a great and upbeat personality and vibe, everything was played on time and to a T what we envisioned!! We feel like we are so lucky!! We also got chandeliers for our tent through their company and they really tied the look together! On the dance floor all the lighting was exactly what we wanted, and we got props from them for guests to dance with and everyone loved them!! I think I danced with a prop taco and light in my hand for half the night 😂 I am overjoyed, music and lights were something that was so important to us and it was PERFECT! Thank you Andrew, and thank you Altared Events and the team and Mirror Me crew for making our wedding spectacular!

My planner had such a clear and thoughtful vision for how the night would unfold, and lighting played a huge role in bringing that to life. Since our ceremony and dinner were in one space, and cocktail hour and dancing in another, our guests moved between two areas throughout the night. Every time they walked back into a space, it felt brand new—thanks to lighting.
Ceremony: soft and airy.
Cocktail hour: moody and intimate.
Dinner: a lush green glow.
Reception: an energetic blue wash.
The photos speak volumes, but even more powerful was how our guests felt in each space. They kept commenting on the atmosphere, and I truly believe lighting made that magic happen. Altared was a dream to work with—professional, creative, and made everything so seamless. Cannot recommend them enough! -

We partnered with Altared on our reception lighting (string + gobo lights) and everything looked absolutely stunning. We received a ton of compliments! The team was super easy to work with and delivered on our vision perfectly. Highly recommend!! -

The lighting was an absolute show stopper!
We hired Altared Weddings for our lighting and they absolutely nailed it! One of the main reasons our dance floor was going strong the whole night was due to the party and fun atmosphere that Altared help create! It was so fun and the set up was awesome! We had a good planning experience and I would hire them again! Thank you team for helping make our special day the best!! -

Beautiful farmhouse string lighting
Altared Weddings did a fantastic job with adding supplemental lighting and ambiance to our wedding. They were able to build on to the existing wooden event structure to add custom lighting - when we worked with them on the contract we told them the aesthetic we were looking for and our rough budget, and they made it happen.
They were one of the first vendors to arrive on the wedding day, and didn't require any assistance or input on executing the plan, which made everything less stressful.

We used Altared for our DJ and lighting services for our wedding in December of 2023 and we had a wonderful experience! They did an INCREDIBLE job with the string lighting throughout the tent of our venue. It looked romantic and perfect. We had DJ Andrew for our ceremony and reception and he was so accommodating and awesome!! Our ceremony was perfect and the reception was fun! He kept us up to date on anything coming up throughout the night and played as many of my favorite song as he could! I only wish the party/music could've gone on longer because we had SO MUCH FUN!! I definitely recommend this company! -

We used Altared for our DJ, ceremony music, lighting, and photo booth and WOW what a caring team. Shelly and team answered all our questions and put in so much effort to confirm every detail. The string duo for ceremony music was wonderful and elevated the whole experience. We were able to request unique, modern songs that sounded amazing with the classical twist, and they truly did all of the classic wedding songs justice. They also provided the lapel and handheld microphone for our ceremony and vows, and that went so smoothly even on a windy day. For the reception, we had DJ David and he was amazing! David showed up super early without anyone asking him to just because he wanted to make sure everything was right before the guests arrived. The music was exactly what we wanted and there was never a dull moment. Our package also included a super cool DJ booth that lit up along with lights that really added to the atmosphere and made the dance floor a blast. Our guests had way too much fun with the photo booth, which came with props and a customized design that we got to match to our wedding branding! It was nice to have instant photos right after the wedding and the photo booth prints were amazing quality. I planned the wedding myself and didn't know where to start with the lighting, but Shelly was a patient and thoughtful teacher, who knew exactly what to recommend. Thanks to her help, it came out perfect. Cannot recommend Altared and DJ David enough! -

I was so happy to secure Altared Weddings for our lighting, lawn games and DJ Andrew Brown. The details of what to expect and what I wanted was thoughtfully tied together and executed perfectly! I still get emotional thinking of our special day, Andrew had us on the dance floor happily sweating those wedding cake calories off and for weeks after the wedding, people were calling and texting us raving about how much of a good time they had! I couldn't have been happier! -

The staff at worked so hard to accommodate me in every way that they could. They arrived early so that I could decorate the lighting fixture that they were installing and actually helped us to remove the decorations at the end. The gentlemen that worked on the installation were so friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond. The lighting made the evening magical. -

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! We used them for uplighting, GOBO projector, and photobooth and they did awesome! Everyone complimented the lighting and photobooth the whole wedding! Such a nice touch. And the team was awesome! I had a great consult call with Shelly who was very helpful and they were organized throughout the whole process. 10/10 recommend! -

I hired Altared Events for a small job, to string lights at a small outdoor wedding on the upper lawn at Mercury Hall. The technician did a perfect job. Before hanging them, he laid out the strings on the grass until they were just the way I wanted them. He hung them from tree to tree instead of the poles, per my request. He also helped us move a heavy speaker just because he was a very nice, kind, friendly person (Galen?). I did not realize I needed to be there to oversee the job, but Shelly coordinated with me that morning and the technician arrived early so that we were able to meet. I certainly recommend being there to give input and get things just as you like them. We also needed a particular size of table and Altared Events was able to provide it. Shelly was wonderful to work with, very responsive and patient during challenging times. I would definitely use Altared Events again in the future. -

Altared weddings, and especially their DJ Mikka were a lifesaver for us. Initially we hired a DJ who nearly ruined our wedding (Made From Skratch; Andrew Trevino). After he stole our money, we felt despondent and panicked. Luckily, my wife's parents jumped in and helped us in securing Altared weddings to jump in. DJ Mikka from our first conversation to our walk-off firework send off was in my mind, the finest and nicest dude and best DJ I've ever had the pleasure to know. He was so easy to work with. Absurdly flexible regarding last minute requests. He made it so easy, sending our playlist, or 'journey' as he called it and editing it w/ the exact songs we wanted. He also threw in a few amazing songs as well. He did not stress at all w/ any changes, and instead brought an energy of pure joy and familiarity. I really can't rave enough about Mikka. The music sounded great, and he was a fantastic MC. The lights were flawless. He kept everyone dancing. You can't ask for more. Don't be like us and waste time hiring an unreliable and unprofessional DJ , instead book Altared DJs ASAP, and ask for Mikka;) -

The Altered team feels like friends, rather than vendors!
Our company has used Altered many times in the past but I recently got to work with them for the first time. The Altered team feels more like friends than vendors when showing up to your event. Amongst the craziness of load-in, they're cool, calm and comforting. They were able to take my few words of direction and make the space more perfect than I could have imagined! If you appreciate honest, genuine people and beautiful lighting without too much direction, I would highly recommend utilizing their services for your upcoming event! -

Shelly and Altared were incredible!! We originally sought them out for a DJ service and ended up hiring them to hang lights, hang chandelier greenery, and drape the entire entrance of our venue! They did it all the day before to transform our venue - making it magical. Shelly is super responsive, we even met before the wedding at the venue to make sure everything was perfect. Would highly HIGHLY recommend. -

Jennifer Sent on 04/15/2018Absolutely loved working with this company. Word of advice: just trust them. They know what they're doing. Halfway through our 1.5 year engagement, our assigned technician left and we got a new technician. This transition was extremely smooth, the new technician proved herself to be extremely knowledgable and trustworthy. They were extremely professional and created a world of lights that was beyond my imagination! Everything glowed in the most beautiful way. For budget reasons, we ordered some lights online. Altered was extremely understanding and gracious about this and even helped the planner hang these. Altered provided lights that were gorgeous and awe-inspiring, but were not in the way. Their lights were for beauty and functionality but there were no loose chords, poles in line of sight, nothing. I don't know how they pulled it off but I would strongly recommend them to EVERYONE. We also used their photobooth, which was SO much easier than creating one ourself like we originally planned. They were happy to give us a discount to fit this in our budget and very flexible to work with us. Fantastic staff and company. Ryan is very responsive and is always willing to work with you in efforts to make sure that your big day is everything that you would ever want it to be. The lighting was exactly the way we wanted it to be and his services truly transformed our space into something more than we could have ever imagined.
Christian was our DJ for the evening and we could not have asked for a more professional, energetic, and all around brilliant individual to have the opportunity to work with. He is so incredibly in tune with the energy of the event and always made sure that every guest was having the best time. I would highly recommend booking Christian as he is most definitely the BEST!

We hired Christian as our DJ and it was one of the best decisions we made! From the classy dinner music to the non stop dance-a-thon we had the perfect entertainment throughout the night. Never a lull or a low point Christian kept everyone up and having fun! The strongest memories I have from our wedding is twirling around on the dance floor with my new hubby and dancing my heart out with all our loved ones having the absolute time of my life! The DJ booth made it feel like we were out at a party and the uplighting set the mood perfectly. My only regret is that I didn't upgrade and get more lighting effects from Altered weddings because everything they provided was to die for! I highly recommend Altered weddings and if you can get Christian don't hesitate to book him immediately! -

Angela Sent on 04/28/2016The process from start to finish with Altared Weddings was such a breeze! They are very professional and hardworking! Our initial contact was with Jasmin and she provided a lot of information on the front end for us so there was very little back and forth question/answers which was so helpful! Their is also a client portal where you can modify your questionnaire at any time. They have a lot of services to offer but we only elected the DJ services for the ceremony and reception. We chose Christian as our DJ and we couldn't be happier! We spoke over the phone twice and towards the end I was nervous about the music selection timing during the ceremony and Christian and I had a long conversation a few days prior and it was such a huge sigh of relief and was one less thing to worry about. Christian knew exactly what to do and he delivered! Christian fed off our guests and played such a great list of songs to keep everyone on the dance floor! It was such a great decision hiring those that have a passion for what they do!
