Carrie Sent on 07/31/2018I contacted Alma Floral Design a month before our wedding day as unfortunately our previous florist didn’t respond to our recent emails. I can’t thank Melissa enough for her quick response and for listening to the needs of what I wanted on the day. My bouquet was absolutely beautiful, as were the buttonieres and corsages, delivery was an added bonus. Thank you again Melissa.

Jessica Sent on 01/04/2018I reached out to Melissa after spending countless hours searching for a florist for our intimate NYC wedding in October. I had been on a search for someone who had a similar style and immediatly fell in love with her Instagram photos when I looked her up.
She immediately responded and we set up a phone call the next day where I filled her in on all my details. After sending her some inspiration photos she sent me back a proposal and I was immediately at ease and confident in her. I was blown away with her willingness to work within our budget - suggesting similar options to make sure I got the look I wanted without going over budget. I also loved that she wasn’t afraid to advise against a request I made when I had insisted on wanting garlands on our reception tables. She gently suggested what she thought would work better (and not just photograph well) I realized the second I sat down to our dinner that night she was 100% right.
The entire time we worked together she went above and beyond. Even going to my venue to look at the location without me asking. Just to make sure she could set everything up in the (tight) time we had and according to the (strict) rules of our ceremony venue.
She personally delivered my beautiful bridal bouquet the morning of the wedding and hours later greeted me with he warmest smile and hug at the ceremony and immediately put me at ease.
Seeing her creation for our ceremony backdrop was my favorite surprise. I never doubted her but it was more than I could have ever hoped for.
I can not reccomended Melissa or her services enough. She made me feel like I was her only priority every single time we spoke and my beautiful flowers were one of my favorite parts of the day.

Sasha Sent on 01/05/2018I had an amazing experience with Alma Floral on my wedding at Gramercy Hotel. I met Melissa, Founder of Alma and canceled rest of the meetings with another floral ateliers right after. Melissa, immediately understood an atmosphere and concept of the wedding. She is so professional, responsible, thoughtful and cooperative. Melissa came with her crew in time, set up all flowers everywhere and built a Chuppah just couple hours before the reception. Everyone on the wedding complimented how beautiful was the arrangement, especially Chuppah. I can`t wait to work with Melissa for the future occasions and truly recommend you to her.

I was so excited to book Melissa for my wedding but sadly, she seriously dropped the ball at my wedding, to the extent that I’ve been advised to seek legal action against her for financial restitution. The flowers she delivered: a) were not what we agreed on in her proposal, b) were far less robust than had been agreed on (and paid for), c) included several partially dead or dying flowers and d) were constructed poorly, creating several logistical challenges, including my planner having to run to a local bodega for extra flowers since so many were dead and them having to get vases from florist doing a wedding at the venue next door. My day of coordinator and photographer (who had recommended Alma to me, was horrified to have done so seeing her work product, and has advised her other clients to cancel their contracts with her) said that the flowers delivered looked like they were worth only half the amount I had paid her. Her work was so far from the mark before you even take into account the dead flowers, which I have ample photo evidence of.
After my wedding, I contacted Melissa to share my feedback (dismay, really) and that I wanted financial restitution, she did not respond after several outreaches. When I booked Melissa, I knew from reviews that she had some issues with responsiveness; though she assured me that she had hired an office manager to support her, I never saw evidence of this - emails were often unreturned and deliverables late.
Needless to say, I would strongly advise any bride from booking Melissa. I’m still struggling to look at my wedding photos without crying at how much she screwed up. Her work, communication style, and total avoidance of addressing these issues ipso facto were far from professional.
