Great Experience!

We had the quartet for our wedding on 8.23 which just so happened to be Ron's wedding anniversary! You could feel them play with love throughout the prelude, ceremony, and reception! We absolutely loved having them with us and would recommend to everyone who is looking for a quartet!

Fairytale Wedding Ceremony Music

We hired the Allegro Quartet to perform live for our wedding ceremony and they did not disappoint. The service was excellent and on point from decades of experience in the business. Their skill and expertise allows them an incredible flexibility to be able to play whatever music you want. We wanted a traditional ceremony and the live music truly elevated the occasion and added an elegance and ambiance that makes the ceremony so much more memorable and adds so much more emotion and feeling and weight to the occasion. Ron, his wife Cynthia, and their colleagues are 2nd to none and are consummate pros. If you hire them for your music, rest assured, you will be in great hands.

Professional, personalized, and welcoming

Ron and the rest of the Allegro team did an amazing job of providing exactly the music we wanted on our wedding day, and helping us figure out what we wanted in the weeks before. Ron has a vast depth of knowledge for what's been done before and will also incorporate whichever unique piece you want without hesitation. He helped us not only decide on our music, but gave us advice on how to get them to flow together while incorporating our special requests and changes.

Allegro Quartet was Phenomenal

I highly, highly recommend hiring the Allegro Quartet for your wedding. Ron was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process, from song selection, to AV set up, to playing during our ceremony and cocktail hour. Ron has many songs to choose from, and has great suggestions to enhance the playlist. Our guests were extremely happy listening to the quartet and I received a lot of compliments. I am very happy with our choice to hire Allegro Quartet and recommend them to every couple getting married! Thank you for adding to the success of our wedding!

Highly Recommend

My wife and I decided we wanted to hire a string quartet for our wedding very late in the process of our planning. We reached out to Ron and he could not have made things easier on us as far as suggestions and planning for our event. Thankfully, the crew had availability and quoted a very reasonable price to perform at our wedding. We had some weather challenges the day of our wedding and Ron and team took everything in stride and were very communicative of what could be expected should the weather not cooperate. Thankfully we had a good window for the ceremony and the Quartet played beautifully! We are so thankful we had the ceremony video recorded, because in the moment it's difficult to fully appreciate their performance, but now we can revisit it for years to come. The Quartet also performed for our cocktail hour, while we were unable to attend due to taking pictures, we received rave reviews from our guests throughout the night. I highly recommend Ron and the Allegro Quartet if you are looking for a classic and tasteful music addition to your ceremony and cocktail hour!

Exceptional and wonderful to work with!

Our wedding included several professional musicians, and the Allegro Quartet did not disappoint! It was really wonderful working with Ron, and he made the entire process quite easy and seamless for us (which, as a bride, I was truly grateful for). From the music selection, where we could add any music we wanted, to structuring the ceremony timeline and ensuring that we weren't missing any vital components for our big day, there's no one else we could recommend more!

Great customized experience

Ron and Pam were great to work with and helped us curate our music selection for our ceremony including our entrance and exit as well as songs to entertain guests prior to the bridal party entrance. They were very professional, responsive, and fun! Would highly recommend them for your big day.

Excellent Choice

Ron was so great to work with in getting song selections set and then ultimately being so so flexible when our ceremony venue had to change last minute, and even from indoors to outdoors! The quartet was fantastic and I'm so happy we went with Allegro. You won't be disappointed.

Wonderful to work with!

Ron and his quartet were amazing to have at our wedding. Their playing was so elegant and beautiful. The guests gave so many compliments to us about how beautifully the music was played for our ceremony ad cocktail hour. Ron was extremely flexible and helpful when it came to timing and helping with the playlist.

absolutely amazing!

Ron has been an absolute pleasure to work with! He was great at listening and accommodating our requests, while making appropriate and wise suggestions when he saw fit. He was very flexible in working with our vision, and blended in flawlessly with the environment we desired for our wedding ceremony.
Although Ron did not personally perform in our ceremony’s quartet, he assured us the team of musicians he would choose for our day was specifically intentional based on our vision, and top of the line musicians. He delivered exactly that, and we couldn’t be happier!

The Allegro quartet provided music for my daughter's prewedding brunch and post wedding cocktail hour. Beautiful music and a wonderful touch to the wedding. Ron is super friendly and easy to work with. Highly recommend!

Lovely wedding music

The Allegro Quartet provided our wedding ceremony music and were great to work with. Ron met with us one on one to discuss our music preferences and gave us suggestions for pieces when we asked. I walked down the aisle to a beautiful rendition of Clair de Lune and we had seamless entrance and exit music. I would highly recommend this group!

Wow! Just wow!

My husband and I hired Allegro Quartet to perform as the musicians at our wedding. Their professionalism, timeliness and performance were nothing short of perfection! Ron and his wife went above and beyond to ensure our day matched our vision and mood for the day. Their music helped to set a romantic, yet magical tone for the day. Hearing the string duo, playing throughout the walls and rooms of the venue, made the entire day feel like it was a dream, the most fantastic and beautiful dream! All I can say is that they were the perfect choice for our small and intimate wedding! Everything, from the choice of their attire to where they set up from the venue was seamless. If I had to do it all over again, I would certainly hire them! I can't thank them enough! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Beautiful music

Professional and affordable!

Ron lives over 2 hours away from our venue yet he was there promptly when he said he would be, played amazing music, and all around is a really nice and genuine guy. He also was really flexible on the music requested, we played "She's So High" for our post ceremony song- who knew that was a thing! He also is very reasonably priced compared to other trios in the Chicagoland area, making the decision a no brainer. We got many compliments about this amazing string trio after our wedding- Highly recommend!!

My husband and I would highly recommend Allegro Quartet who played for us at our July 8th wedding reception. Not only were they very professional and reliable, but also were amazing musicians playing a wide variety of music from pop to rock to classical to just about everything in between. Allegro Quartet really made my ceremony and cocktail hour different from others that I have been to. It added an elegance and romance that i really wanted in contrast from my reception. All of my guest thought you were great and made it a very classy event!

Ron Arden provided the perfect touch of elegance to my daughter's wedding. He provided ceremony music that we requested, along with some suggestions of his own. He gracefully filled in when the girls took a little longer than planned to get themselves to the ceremony site. It couldn't have worked out nicer!

Ron & Cynthia perform amazing music for any ceremony. Whether you give them 100% direction or let them choose the music they see fit, it's always beautiful and gives your ceremony a very personal feeling. When planning our ceremony, we forgot a few areas that need music but Ron & Cynthia knew exactly what to play and when to play it. Couldn't have asked for a more talented, beautiful couple to be a part of our ceremony.

If you are looking for a special touch to your ceremony, the Allegro Quartet is your choice. From the start, they were very accommodating and professional and very interested in making our wedding day a special one. The musicians were extremely talented and many of our guests loved listening to their performance before our ceremony began. I highly recommend Ron and his musicians for your wedding.

Made our wedding exceptional!

When we knew our daughter wanted a special piece of music for her bridal processional, we immediately contacted Ron who was recommended by our reception venue. From my first phone call, I knew this was someone we would enjoy working with. Ron immediately understood our vision and was very willing to find the music, and even found a soprano just a month before the wedding to add the impact
we were looking for. There was not a dry eye in the place..the music was so moving and beautiful! His gifted quartet even played some latin music along with the classical during the prelude to enhance our culturally infused wedding party and guests. Their beautiful accompaniament during the sacred parts of the ceremony made it so very personal. I would highly recommend Ron and his gifted musicians for any event. You will find him reasonable in cost and highly professional and personal. We also recommend his concerts with his Full Score Chamber Orchestra! www.FullScore.org

Ron and the entire Allegro Quartet are absolutely amazing to work with! Ron provided us with the perfect amount of guidance and expertise to ensure we picked the most beautiful music for our ceremony and cocktail hour that represent us as a couple. Our expectations were surpassed when our friends kept asking where we found the musicians. We couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. We loved the suggestions of the music which added such warmth to our day. We are so pleased that we found such a perfect fit to complete our event.

I hired Ron and the Allegro Quartet for my proposal to my fiance. They were AWESOME!!! I reached out to several quartets in preparation for the proposal, and Ron and his quartet were by far the most flexible, responsive, and accommodating. I proposed outdoors in very cold (but dry) weather. Typically, string instruments can't be played at low temperatures since the instruments could get damaged. But the awesome Allegro folks used less expensive student instruments in order to play outside when it was well below freezing. This was certainly a lot for me to ask of them (no other quartet would do this, and understandably so), but they came bundled up and ready to play. The quartet learned 2 new songs that I requested and they sounded amazing. They coordinated with me on timing to make sure my fiance was completely surprised. All in all, working with Ron was a complete pleasure and I would definitely recommend him and his quartet.

Ron and Allegro Quartet were a wonderful addition to our wedding! We wanted music to be a big part of our ceremony and cocktail hour and Ron was wonderful, especially since we were planning from out of town. He even offered to have a call where he played us different options of music for our ceremony. On the wedding day, the quartet (plus a trumpet he had set up) sounded delightful-exactly what we wanted at our wedding.

Ron kept in close contact with me to make sure everything was exactly how I wanted it. I wanted to surprise my fiancee and had Allegro Quartet play our song when I walked down the aisle. It isn't a traditional wedding piece, but they were more than willing to learn the song for me, and it turned out beautifully! Highly recommend this group to everyone!

The Allegro Quartet played for my mother's funeral mass. While typically a sad event, the music helped make it a celebration of her life.

Ron and his team were fantastic. Both in terms of their communication and planning beforehand, and in their execution of the music on the day. We were in touch with Ron a few times prior to the big day, choosing the music we preferred. There was next to nothing that they could not play, and play well. Ron was also very helpful in giving his opinions on what we proposed, given his knowledge of classical music is materially better than ours! On the day itself Ron and his team arrived quietly, played magnificently, and left just as subtlety as the band took over. They most certainly come with our very high recommendation.

We recently had Ron and Cynthia play at our wedding and they did a phenomenal job. The music was beautiful and they were both extremely professional. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality music at an event.

We had a trio play for our wedding for approximately 4-5 hours since we decided to forego a DJ. Ron was our main contact person and was willing to meet beforehand to go over specific music as well as the general type of music we like. They were very responsive and accommodating to our requests. We were very pleased with the professionalism of the trio and thought it was worth every penny :)

Very professional and great to work with! My husband and I live in La Grange and getting up to Zion was going to be very difficult with our jobs and schedules. Ron was great and we were able to meet with him via skype and hear and choose our music from home. They did a wonderful job at our wedding at both ceremony strings and a pianist during cocktail hour. Would highly recommend.

I hate to say I feel very let down

I meticulously searched for a string quartet to play at my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour on 5/25/19. I found Ron Arden and was very impressed with his background, quick responses and his price was very reasonable compared to other quotes. Ron was always prompt to respond, very flexible and I booked him almost a year in advance. Ron was my only contact throughout the entire process and as our wedding approached we drove almost an hour away to meet him in Zion. Ron was a very pleasant gentleman and his love of music is undeniable. He explained when each song choice would be played and i learned a lot from him in terms of Ceremony music. I honestly hate to leave negative feedback but I heavily relied on feedback from other brides and I feel it’s my duty to post my experience for other soon to be brides. Fast forward to the morning of my wedding- it’s extremely hectic and full of pressure. You have a bunch of girls in a suite getting hair and makeup done, getting dressed and having pictures taken left and right. I was extremely nervous about how the day and night would play out and all I could do was pray that all my hard work planning would pan out. I was very upset when I received an email from Ron Arden saying that he would not be able to make it to my wedding, and that “another job came up”. He said he would be sending his wife Cynthia and 3 other players. I never doubted the ability of the people he would send as I know Ron has many connections in the music world, but I didn’t couldn’t believe i was told “another job came up” and “as a freelancer this is how he makes his money”. I understand we all need to make money but i booked him almost a year prior and put a deposit down so that another job wouldn’t just come up. You don’t send an email like this to a bride the morning of their wedding and i think looking back Ron would have to agree that he made a mistake. The string quartet was lovely overall; however, there was an awkward instance where the music stopped as my father and grandmother walked down the aisle and when I reached out to Ron about this I was blamed for changing the order of the bridal party (which was NEVER changed). My bridal party was the same from day one and if someone is walking down the aisle there should be music. The coordinator was also blamed for giving an incorrect signal. I was surprised by Ron’s responses to me and had he not blamed me I probably wouldn’t have even written this review. I wouldn’t tell anyone not to hire him but i would definetly make sure, in advance, if he plans to attend your wedding or send others. Had I conversed with his wife at some point prior to the day of I would have been ok with Ron not showing up; however, I would never recommend he email a bride the morning of her wedding to let them know another job came up and he wouldn’t be able to make it. It is unnessesary. Everyone liked their music and the song after my husband broke the glass was amazing and i will never forget the feeling I had once the song I picked to exit the ceremony started. It was spectacular. Also the quartet arrived on time and they were dressed professionally. Just make sure to overcommunicate your expectations.

Very unprofessional and rude: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

When I first contacted Ron Arden, he was courteous and seemed professional. However, my experience took a disappointing turn when I had to cancel my wedding. Per the contract, I was entitled to a full refund of my deposit if notice was given at least 30 days in advance—which it was.

When I informed Mr. Arden of the cancellation, he responded by saying he would hold onto the deposit and return it the day after the original wedding date, “just to be sure it didn’t happen.” While this struck me as odd, I trusted him based on our prior interactions.

After the wedding date passed and the event indeed did not occur, I attempted to contact him to follow up on the refund. The number he had provided went straight to voicemail, and he did not respond to my email. After several days with no reply, I tried a secondary number he had previously listed. He answered, but when I identified myself and asked about the deposit, he abruptly hung up on me. I was shocked and confused—this was completely unexpected behavior from someone representing a professional service.

Shortly after, I left a negative but honest review on WeddingWire. Mr. Arden then called me and stated I would not receive a refund unless I removed the review. He accused me of manipulating him and claimed I had cost him over $900 by canceling the event, even though I had followed the contract’s terms. The call was confrontational and upsetting, especially as I was still dealing with the emotional stress of a canceled wedding.

Thankfully, every other vendor I worked with handled the situation with professionalism and compassion—and issued refunds without issue. I understand the disappointment of losing a booking, but Mr. Arden’s behavior was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. As a fellow musician, I expected more integrity. I cannot recommend his services based on this experience.
