Alix is an absolutely incredible photographer. My wife and I hired Alix to shoot our wedding in September ‘24, which means yes, I am a year overdue in leaving this review. We compared many photographers and chose Alix because of her style and connection during our intro call. We felt her photos would capture our big day as it was, but also add a bit of a dreamy touch to it which would make it special to reflect on. Alix absolutely delivered, and was able to include some shots on film as well. Alix was a joy to work with and we honestly had a ton of fun shooting our engagement photos and wedding with her. I would highly recommend Alix for any event. Thanks again! -

Booking Alixann was the best call we made in wedding planning. We knew it was worth investing in an amazing photographer because photos last a life time and (hopefully!) you only get married once. She exceeded our expectations in every way. Not only did the photos turn out beautifully, she also turned them around within 2 weeks of our wedding which was mind-blowing to us considering she took thousands of photos across both film and digital. The amount of "WHO WAS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER" texts I received after showing friends/family the photos was crazy - some people even said she made it look like we were in a Vogue magazine.. what more could you ask for! Outside of the work she produced, she was also just an amazing person to work with and a great presence at the wedding - calm, kind, and patient. We will cherish these photos for a lifetime and will recommend Alixann over and over again to all who will listen. Go book her! -

Every photo was a highlight
We feel so lucky to have had Alix as our wedding photographer! Not only is she incredibly talented, but she’s also such a kind and thoughtful person who made the entire process a joy. From the beginning, she was super responsive and took the time to get to know us, even though we booked her more than a year in advance. On the day of our wedding, she was wonderful to work with. Neither of us are used to being photographed, but she made it feel natural. My mom even commented about how she blended in super seamlessly. You hardly noticed her, but somehow she was everywhere, capturing every important moment. I had worried that she might not be excited about photographing a venue she’d worked at many times before, but she made it feel fresh and special for us.
When we got our gallery back, we were blown away. She captured the day exactly as it felt, and looking through the gallery was emotional and overwhelming in the best way for us. We honestly couldn’t believe how quickly she delivered them too. The gallery platform itself was also a wonderful surprise. It was easy to use and share, and even let us filter by guests’ faces, which was a really thoughtful touch! Her mix of digital and film photos was incredibly beautiful, and it’s clear how much love she puts into her work. We had really high expectations going in, but Alix still exceeded them in every way. Choosing her as our photographer was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding, and we can’t recommend her enough. -

My husband and I eloped in St Lucia last month and flew Alix out to do our photos and it was the BEST decision ever. Her work is obviously beautiful (it’s truly art), but even more than that she is super fun to work with, just an absolute pleasure. My husband and I actually agreed taking the photos was the highlight of our wedding day- we had so much fun and that wouldn’t have been possible without Alix. I really can’t recommend her highly enough!! Thank you for bringing my vision (and more) to life Alix 🫶🏻 -

I can’t speak highly enough about Alix - her work is incredible and her vibe is amazing, exactly what you would want on your wedding day.
A friend recommend Alix to me and said Alix was so good at putting her husband at ease and getting candid/natural pictures and I couldn’t agree more!
I loved interacting with her leading into the day, she has super positive energy, and on the day was a super calming presence. We got our pictures way faster than I expected and I am absolutely obsessed with them - she totally captured the emotion of the day. It was the best day and I am so grateful with how beautifully Alix captured it all. -

a true pro
I found Alix after searching through a lot of photographers and she was the first vendor we hired. So many other photographers had blown out and overexposed wedding photos, but I was looking for someone with an organic style, who would not only take beautiful photos of our wedding but also capture the emotion and feeling of the day. When I came across Alix's work, the decision was easy. Beyond that, she was lovely to work with and made us feel comfortable and confident during our engagement shoot. We loved how our photos turned out and knew we were in good hands for our wedding. When our wedding day came, she blended into the background and captured all the magic. We never felt aware of the camera unless she was giving us some direction for the group shots. Also, my bridesmaids and I ran behind schedule and she never made us feel rushed or stressed - she went with it and adapted to our timing. We are overjoyed with our wedding photos (as are our friends and family, we haven't stopped receiving compliments on them) and we will treasure these for the rest of our lives. Alix is a true professional and a phenomenal photographer. -

Hands down the BEST decision we made!
There are A LOT of super talented creatives out there, so when I first started looking for a photographer it was quite overwhelming. When I came across Alix I instantly fell in love with her approach and just the RAW, documentary style of her work. When initially reaching out I was instantly put at ease, she had our backs from day dot. From choosing locations, to vendors recs, she had it all! This was especially a massive help as I was planning this all from Australia while my fiancé and I we're jumping through the extra visa hurdles brought on by COVID, she was so understanding about our situation! On top of this, being as indecisive as we are, we couldn't decide between mountains and coast (both holding a special significance), Alix came back and suggest we do both so we didn't have to compromise. She was down to adventure with us every step of the way!
Alix has a unique way of capturing images that take you back in time and really make you feel something. She completely exceeded our expectations and is also just one of the loveliest humans you could meet. We felt like we were hanging with one of our pals and she made us feel so at ease.
While we couldn't have our friends and family with us like originally planned, you can feel the pure love and magic of the day through our photos. Alix values real moments - and documents them so artfully. We are taken back to those precious moments every time we look through our beautiful album.
Alix, you're the best of the best! Thank you for capturing our days so perfectly. And to anyone reading this, do not hesitate to get her on board for your wedding or elopement...just do it right now! -

As a wedding vendor (Floral Designer), I get the opportunity to work with a number of local Photographers. Alixann exceeded absolutely every expectation and sets the bar for style, generosity and thoughtfulness. Culling through our couple's photo gallery I was blown away by Alixann's artful attention to detail and the way she captured the work of each competent of the wedding. If you're a person who values details, wants to document your legacy through art, Alixann is the one for you. -

Alix was amazing from the very beginning. Her communication was 100%. She responded to all my emails quickly and was always willing to chat further. Having hired her for 2020, COVID happened, and my original large wedding did not happen. Alix was there for every change I threw at her for the next year and was always positive and offering suggestions. I knew our wedding pictures were going to be beautiful because of her photography style and she had done our engagement photos, which had turned out amazing! Our micro wedding happened this year in 2021 and our pictures were absolutely gorgeous. She was so chill during the wedding, very stealthy with her shots; at times I forgot she was even there, which I enjoyed because I could really enjoy the moments! She was efficient with group photos and gently guided us during our first look photo shoot. Alix was the calming presence I needed during 2020/21. She caught moments that were completely “us” (natural, enjoying a moment unposed). Our photos are truly timeless!
Hiring her was the best decision! -

Dreamy Oregon Wedding
This review has been a long time coming, and I want to say how amazing Alix is. I don’t know how to express the ability and technique of her skills but I just want to say she was awesome.
As nervous as we were, she made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. I cannot recommend her enough! A true professional.

Tl;dr, Alix is an incredible photographer, extremely professional, and you won’t regret booking her for a second. I found Alix via Google rabbithole as I was researching photographers. Her raw, emotive, and timeless photography took our breath away. My husband and I got engaged in February, just as lockdowns were happening, and our wedding plans gradually scaled down from a traditional wedding to a just-us ceremony. Alix worked with us to plan a flexible ceremony schedule structured around stunning Oregon coast backdrops and unpredictable December weather. She didn’t batt an eye when we adjusted locations the day of our vows to take advantage of the perfect weather. And on that day, it was me, my husband, and Alix. For such an intimate life moment, you really need to trust and vibe with your photographer, and Alix was amazing. She zipped my dress, adjusted my hair, warned us about incoming waves, and captured our happiness. That’s the best part about Alix’s work and about that day: we didn’t feel posed or awkward (even though we’re not used to being in front of a camera), we had fun and laughed and frolicked, and she captured it all. Our photos are stunning, they get compliments all the time, but above all I *feel* our joy when I look at them, and to Alix we’ll always be grateful. We can’t wait to work with her again. -

My husband and I had just gotten married the week prior and were visiting Oceanside, Oregon for our mini moon. On a whim, we decided we wanted to have photos taken of us in Tunnel Beach to commemorate our trip. I started researching for photographers in the area or those who could travel to Oceanside and I was immediately drawn to Alix’s portfolio, style, and aesthetic. Alix was very quick to respond to my Instagram message and make it out to Oceanside the very next day from Portland. She was very professional and warm from when we first communicated over Instagram to meeting in person. She wore a mask the entire time and it felt so natural to be around her. The experience never felt forced or unnatural because she allowed us to just be -- my husband and I were able to enjoy every moment with each other while Alix gave us little pointers here and there and took amazing shots of us in the Oregon sunset! Alix is an excellent communicator and is very easygoing and kind. On top of all that, she is an amazing photographer. Thank you so much Alix for such a wonderful time and for capturing us during our mini moon, especially on such short notice! I highly recommend Alix and would work with her again any day! -

Alix was a true professional from the moment we first talked with her about our hopes and ideas for our wedding day. She took the time to get to know us as a couple — what brought us together, what is important to us, and how we share our love and passions with those around us. On our wedding day, she showed up early on her own time and made sure that she captured all the parts of the day, from getting-ready photos in the mid-morning to the first dances in the evening. We got ready in an AirBnb, took first look photos in a nearby park, were married in a church and then traveled to a fourth location for our reception. Alix took it all in stride, driving the groom to the first look spot, and showing up everywhere else, happy and eager to work with everyone, even some very particular members of our extended families. We received our photos in less than two months' time and we loved them instantly. Alix's pricing is competitive for the Portland area — although she charges more than we initially wanted to spend, she was wiling to work with us to find a solution that made everyone happy. We would work with Alix again and highly recommend her to folks getting married in the Portland area (or elsewhere — she travels). -

Absolutely stunning work!
This review is LOOOOONNNG overdue. My husband and I got married in June and hired Alix for our engagement and wedding photos. We weren’t very interested in engagement photos, it just wasn’t something we felt like we needed but we booked Alix for our wedding and we thought it might be a good idea so we’d get to know Alix better and so we’d feel more prepared for how photos would feel on our wedding day. We are SO happy we did. We went to the Oregon coast for our engagement photos last September and they turned out so well. We were so happy with our engagement photos we wondered how it would be possible to beat them on our wedding day. I’m not even sure which ones we like better. Both sessions went so well as far as working with Alix and beyond our wildest dreams as far as the quality of photos goes. She gave great direction for two idiots that don’t know how to be behind a camera and she I didn’t have to give her much direction as far they photos I wanted, in fact she helped ME figure that out. She was always extremely responsive when we contacted her every single time which is so important. In fact, I just contacted her for something, three months post-wedding, and she responded within minutes! After receiving both our engagement and wedding photos, each time we had a hard time picking our favorites because there were just too many! Both sets are ridiculously stunning and I feel so happy and lucky that we have so many amazing photos to remember these times in our lives. She has a great eye for photography and does absolutely incredible work! Hire Alix - you won’t regret it!

Alix was so easy to work with, she was the first vendor I hired. I fell in love with her work when I found her. I love the depth and the candid moments. I didn't get to meet her in person until the day of my wedding, but she was so thorough and professional up until the day of, I had no worries! I did a boudoir shoot while I was getting ready and she also suggested sunset photos which I am so happy with. She has a great sense of humor and made my husband feel comfortable, he hates taking pictures. All in all I would definitely hire Alix again! -

Nicole Sent on 01/01/2018Going into wedding planning, photography was one of our top priorities. Alix was phenomenal, and by far our favorite vendor to work with. We couldn’t recommend her more highly! Alix flew out to NYC for our wedding. We chose to work with her instead of a local photographer because of the quality of her work, her documentary style, and her flexibility. Alix seamlessly adjusted to the nontraditional elements of our celebration — two events, no first look, informal ceremony. She made us (camera shy people) feel like we could be ourselves. And we were able to put our complete trust in her to get the shots we wanted — she was unobtrusive, but magically there for all the right moments. The final photographs were incredible, and we got them sooner than we expected. Alix captured intimate moments, the ambience of our events, and the energy of our families perfectly.

I had to plan with her via email since I am overseas, and she was very responsive and knew all the right questions to ask. We had the day and contract sorted after only a few emails. On the wedding day, I gave her very little time for photos, and yet every photo she sent was stunning. I've never felt very photogenic, but she made me look beautiful. She knew the venue well and the best places to take the photos. In fact, when we reviewed the photos of the ceremony and reception, we kept saying, "Wow! She captured that moment too!" She was invisible during the day -- not intrusive and standing in the way -- and yet managed to capture everything important. One of the things that makes Alix so good is she is obsessed with the details. For example, my husband had his wallet in his pocket and she noticed right away, preventing us from having strange photos of him. I would strongly recommend Alix!

Cambria Sent on 11/15/2011Alix was a dream to work with. I was really stressing about finding a good photographer. I am pretty picky when it comes to photography. It seemed like eveyone I really liked was not available, or way out of our budget. My cousin and his wife used Alix, and I love, love, loved their pictures. Alix was extremely professional and creative and provided great direction as far as outfit choice, locations, props, etc. I feel like Alix gave us the most bang for our buck, and there wasn't any surprise costs. We knew exactly what we were getting for our money with Alix. Alix thrives on creativity and uniqueness- which I love. Jared and I decided to do our engagements and the State Fair, and it turned out to be absolutely hectic. We all got a little frustrated with people stepping into the shot and being in the way, but Alix kept her cool and got some gorgeous shots. She worked well under pressure. We also had a HUGE group for our shots outside the temple on our wedding day, and she handled our crowd like a champ. Our videographer was Nathan Pickett, and they worked SO WELL together... it was a blast to have these two around on our wedding day! -

Her style is unique and timeless, she doesn't follow the short term trends that go in and out of style. She was perfect for our wedding and gave us a great deal with how many photos we got! She is very kind and personable which was perfect for a wedding photographer, she did a great job at gathering everyone for certain photos. I definitely recommend her to anyone!

Rylee Sent on 11/10/2012There is absolutely no disputing that Alix is one amazing photographer. Her pictures all speak for themselves honestly, I can't tell you how many people have told me how magical and intimate my pictures look. She's amazing with lighting, has been in the business long enough to know what she's doing and take charge of the situation but also is creative and always wanting to do new, unique things which is hard to find in a Utah wedding industry where photographers all end up doing the same things and same boring poses. The only critique I have for Alix is that she's not always on top of her emails, she was pretty late getting my formals to me. She just emailed my actual wedding day photos which I had to download instead of using her usual USB port, I wanted them backed up on a hard drive, and the downloading took hours. I think her service needs the tiniest bit of work, but she is truly one hell of a photographer. Like i said, the pictures speak for themselves.
