  Alison is the best!

  We worked with Alison for both our wedding and engagement photos and she was the best! She is very organized, gives great direction, and captures a perfect mix of organic documentary style pics and some posed portraits. Not to mention, she's super fun to hang out with. She's clearly very experienced and proactively worked with our planner to come up with a photography schedule for the day. She also offered to scope out our venue in advance to find good photography spots. We got our photos back in both cases within her estimate windows and everything was delivered digitally with no issues. The pictures have such life to them and I know we will cherish them forever.

  Candid photos of all the emotions!

  Alison did such a great job photographing our wedding. The day of EVERYTHING went wrong. We were in a state of chaos when Alison showed up at 2pm ready to shoot. The moment she got there, I felt a sense of relief. Seeing how unphased she was by how late we were/power outage/etc, made me calm down. She very subtly but efficiently steered us back on track all while making conversation about the big day. The effect was that I went from feeling totally out of whack, back to feeling calm and actually enjoying/savoring the moment. I had also left my watch in the room, and she said not to worry, she had it all under control.
  
  Both myself and my almost husband were feeling stiff and nervous about the portraits, but again, she was amazing at helping us get out of our heads. She has a way of being both very professional and on top of/driving the situation, while at the same time projecting such a calm and unimposing presence so everyone can be comfortable.
  
  Okay, so the photos themselves. They are AMAZING. We just got them back today! (4 weeks turnaround!) I had told Alison I really wanted a lot of candid photos of our family and friends. If you also want this, SHE IS THE BEST! I am so grateful to her. As everyone on Yelp has said, what Alison does best is capture the candid emotions of everyone: joy/affection/sentimentality/laughter etc. It's really corny, but when I looked through the photos just now, I could really feel the warmth of the day. Alison caught the look of sentimentality on my aunt's face during the vows, and my friend's mom's face during the speeches, and my cousin with her little confidence pose on the dance floor, and so many laughing photos, and my mom leaning in to my dad because he said something sweet, and so many warm looks between relatives, etc, etc, etc. The photos really capture what it felt like to be there that day.
  
  You should definitely hire Alison for the photos. However, the cherry on top, is how professional she is. Her system for delivering the photos is really convenient. You can even download them all directly to your google photos! Her payment system is way better/more modern than most vendors. She is super helpful and on top of helping you plan out what you want, suggesting a portrait list, etc. With some vendors you can feel they have a lot on their plate, and you have to catch them up on your details every time you discuss something (which is fine, by the way, this is a crazy busy wedding season). However, Alison is not like that. We had so many moving parts, and I did worry a lot about things falling through the cracks, but I never worried about Alison. In the lead up to the wedding she was so on top of things and organized that I just never had to waste any stress on the photography. She was one of the few vendors where I felt she knew her part of the wedding better than I did. That was a relief. I could rely on her completely vs feeling like I needed to help her. (That sounds obvious, but with some vendors I did feel I needed to remember things to show them, etc. Not with her.) Finally, on the day of, she just brings a ton of wedding day experience so she can adapt on the fly to make sure you get the shots you want while still having the day flow well.

  Perfectly captured our vision

  Alison and her husband Adm were absolutely incredible during our wedding. They come so prepared, and were such a calming presence during a crazy day. Their style of documentary photography was exactly what we envisioned for our wedding, but they still made sure to include some posed group/family shots. We have only seen a preview of our pictures so far and I am already so thrilled with the results. Not only are they great photographers, but they are great people!

  I heard of Alison actually through my mother, and she was kind enough to travel down to San Diego for our wedding. She was wonderful to work with, and I'm excited for the photos. The photos were relaxing, and she gave great directions. We also had two dogs in the wedding, and she was able to capture them as well. Great communication from her, and help in getting our schedule for photos sorted out. Thank you!

  I highly recommend Alison Yin as your photographer for you wedding. There are many to choose from, but Alison has a FABULOUS eye for emotional moments, framing your phots, and overall capturing the story of your wedding. Her background as a photojournalist really sets her apart from other photographers and it's evident in your photos. I was looking for a photographer who wouldn't do the usual cheesey, cliche photographs I've seen over and over again in albums. Thus far, I have gotten lots of compliments on my photographs. I myself am so pleased with our pictures and can't wait to start framing them. I have lots to choose from! In addition to her skills and talent, Alison's service and presence was so wonderful as a bride to have that day! She made me feel really relaxed and was totally calm that day. She was so friendly and polite to all my guests and family. It was nice to have someone I felt really comfortable with that day who was willing to go above and beyond in helping me the day of instead of some stiff photographer. I guarantee you will not be disappointed with Alison's service or your photographs.

  From our first meeting to the last photograph purchased, I found AlisonYinWeddings to be professional, creative, fair priced, responsive and fun to work with. The images she produced were absolutely fabulous. I love looking at my wedding album and I know it will be a wonderful reminder of the most important day in my life.

  As a young photo professional starting out in the wedding photography business I found Alison to be wonderfully delightful, amazingly talented and gifted.
  In July of 2006 and what so happened to be the hottest day of that year at 112, Alison expertly photographed my daughter's wedding and reception. Alison's cheerful personality and professionalism never wavered even though the reception hall had no air conditioning, a trial for us all to be sure.
  I now have a wonderful album of excellent photography showing the bride and groom getting ready before the wedding. Insightful candids during the wedding ceremony. Wonderful portraits before the reception and exciting candids during the reception. My favorite photo is a portrait taken of my daughter while she was getting ready. It's a tight shot showing her from the side smelling her bouquet. Only a moment of time captured by her camera to be preserved for a lifetime.
  Alison has earned my respect and my gratitude for a job expertly done in unexpectedly harsh conditions. When my next daughter has her wedding, be assured I'll be calling on Alison again to capture it with her camera in her exceptionally unique way.
