Best Wedding Photographer!

We hired Alison for our fall engagement shoot and spring wedding, and she did the most beautiful job!!! Not only is she highly efficient and organized, but also extremely talented at taking gorgeous, natural-looking photos. She was the only wedding vendor I never had to worry about during the planning process. I could always count on her to respond quickly and thoroughly to all my questions and concerns. Having Alison as our photographer was definitely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! We'll treasure her photos for many years to come :)

I worked with Alison on my and my partner’s wedding in October 2022 and we had such an incredible experience with her from start to end. Even before the day, she sent us care packs, gave us helpful information on posing and what to bring with us, and she was so flexible with the day of schedule. I didn’t have a planner so I was finalizing some of those things quite last minute.

On the day of Alison was so wonderful and I felt totally at ease with her, even though I’d not met her in person before that day. She was patient, accommodating, supportive, fun, and she helped us get so many photos we were so happy with.

Even after the fact, she’s gone truly above and beyond. I cannot recommend her enough!

Beautiful photos, so helpful throughout

Before hiring Alison for our wedding, we hired her company for our engagement photos and worked with one of her associate photographers because Alison was booked for our wedding. The photographer was amazing and made us feel so comfortable. It was the perfect thing to make us confident that the wedding would go well. Throughout the whole wedding planning process, Alison was extremely responsive, supportive, and organized. She included lots of personal touches to get us excited for the big day and gave us lots of advice and recommendations when we asked. With everything else being so crazy, we felt like the photography was totally taken care of. The day of the wedding, Alison's associate photographers were extremely professional and positive. They helped the day run extremely smoothly and let us totally enjoy ourselves while still catching the big moments. Alison is an editing wizard and got our photos back to us so quickly. Couldn't be happier with the experience!

Fantastic photographer and fun to work with!

We had the BEST experience working with Alison and her team (Bridget) at Alison Dunn Photography. I could not have been more happy that we booked Alison to do both our engagement and wedding photos. She is so responsive, flexible, and made us feel very comfortable by telling us how to pose and also asking for our opinions in case we wanted some particular poses. Alison proved to not only be a fantastic photographer, but also someone we could go to for advice throughout our wedding planning. She coordinated the most perfect first look, gave us a heads up for things like getting a wedding permit, and sent us tips and tricks along the way.

On the actual wedding day, Alison was super reliable and did a tremendous job getting photos of people we pointed out like extended family and good friends. We are thrilled with how our photos turned out, and I would recommend Alison Dunn Photography to any couple looking to have their dream wedding!

Third AlisonDunn Wedding in our Family!

Alison is a JOY to work with and her photography is spectacular. She photographed two of my sister's weddings, and was my first call when I was looking at wedding dates to make sure she was available! Day of the wedding, Alison made me feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful the entire time. Her and her second shooter blended into the background of the day and got the most stunning shots of me & hubs, and family and friends. AND she sent our photos back to us in less than a week! (She even sent a handful the morning after the wedding as a sneak peak which was such a joy to have so quickly!) Her eye for detail, capturing sweet moments, and helping wrangle large groups of people turns chaos into order - especially when you want to spend more time enjoying the day instead of looking for aunts and uncles for family photos!

Alison is absolutely amazing!

We are thrilled we had Alison in our corner on our wedding day! Alison shot our proposal, our small backyard wedding, and we couldn't imagine having our most recent larger celebration without her. She was incredibly professional, navigating through large families and our city venue, all while making us feel comfortable and supported the entire day. Great Experience

Alison did an amazing job as our photographer. She was very fast in getting us the photos that she took. We got married on a Saturday and she had our website up with all of our photos able to download and order the following Monday. The photos she took looked incredible we got married at a country club and the majority of the photos were taken on a golf course. I was concerned that it would look like a golf course in the background but she did a great job and you couldn't tell it was a golf course at all. Alison was also very flexible which is something that was very important to us. We had to completely change our wedding size and the timing due to some family issues and COVID. Alison worked with us to insure that she was scheduled for the appropriate time and that we got all of the photos that we wanted. She did a great job of taking the photos and making it not look like such a small wedding. I would definitely hire Alison again or recommend her to a friend. She is nice, professional and does amazing work!

Professional, easy to work with and amazing photos!!!

Working with Alison was a pleasure, from everything leading up to the wedding, to the big day! She always responded quickly to any of my questions and was very thoughtful throughout the process. The best wedding photographer in Philly

We are so thrilled that we chose Alison Dunn Photography to capture our wedding day. Alison and her assistant Bridget gave great direction and made everyone in our wedding party feel comfortable. They photographed our entire day perfectly, without us ever feeling like we were being taken away from the party for photos. I woke up the next morning to sneak peak pictures, and we received the rest of our photos in record time - less than a week after our wedding date! We will cherish the photos forever, and HIGHLY recommend Alison to anyone getting married in the Philadelphia area.

Magnificent!

Alison and Bridget were absolutely wonderful. Professional, responsive and organized. We had a small mini-mony because of coronavirus but Alison made us feel like it was still a real event. When we had to make some last minute changes they were incredibly flexible and understanding, working with us to make a plan. My husband and I are definitely people who shy away from the spotlight but Alison made us feel comfortable and I actually enjoyed having my photo taken. The photographs are absolutely beautiful and I am so grateful to have these memories preserved for many years to come. Will definitely be using Alison Dunn Photography again for our other life events!

Absolutely stunning pictures from a wonderful photographer!

Alison Dunn Photography was a joy to work with for our engagement and wedding photos. From first contact, she was organized, supportive, and warm, and we knew we were going to be in good hands. Alison really put us at ease during our engagement shoot. She was fun, gave good direction, and the photos were beautiful. The day of our wedding, Alison and her team really made it truly special. They captured every detail, supported and coached us throughout, and added to the fun atmosphere. Alison had a great eye for shooting locations and was always game to try out a new place or pose. Above all, the photos turned out beautiful. One family member said that they “looked like they were out of a magazine”. Best photographer I've ever met!

Of the multiple decisions we needed to make when we got engaged, booking Alison as our photographer might be the best one of all! She truly is talented and has an eye for capturing beautiful moments. I really appreciated how she was incredibly organized (sending google forms to fill out for more information instead of inundating me with last minute questions) and she obviously has worked out a process to make everything run smoothly. She tells you exactly where to look and what to do to make the perfect picture. I also was really happy with her demeanor and organization during the event. She didn’t belabor the time spent taking bridal photos or bridal party photos (we were really hot!). She got great pictures in just a few minutes and had us moving along quickly to the next event. Her keen eye for good photography made the process seamless and the photos we received from her are absolutely stunning. I would definitely recommend Alison to anyone looking for a wedding photographer or anyone looking to capture any special moment!

I cannot rave enough about Alison Dunn Photography! To start, she is a natural talent. Her photographs are BEAUTIFUL; they are the most complimented part of our wedding. Guests who weren't even in the wedding party or family were gushing about how great our photographer was-- they weren't just pointing out the photos, but the PERSON-- which I think speaks to her high-quality work. Second, she was a complete joy to work with because of her natural skills and personality. She is detail-oriented and kind; she is fast to respond to emails and she's usually ten steps ahead of you in brainstorming/planning. She was also professional and took charge when she needed to (i.e., herding family photos). To drive this point home, our other vendors were excited to hear Alison was our photographer. To quote my makeup artist, "oh, I'm so excited she'll be there on your wedding. She is so detail-oriented and easy to work with. When she's there, the day always goes smoothly." I cannot say enough good things about Alison Dunn Photography! Alison's photos are some of the most gorgeous I have ever seen and she truly has a talent to capture images that show real emotions and are not staged. Not only are Alison's photos the best ever, but Alison herself is so easy to work with. From the first time I spoke to her she was so genuine, she makes you feel like a friend not just a client. Alison is also extremely responsive, whenever I had a question she would answer it right away. She goes above and beyond to make you feel even more excited about wedding planning (I won't share too many details to ruin the surprises!). Choosing Alison as our wedding photographer was the easiest and best decision that we made throughout the entire wedding planning process. We were immediately drawn to her style of photography which is natural, simple, and absolutely breathtaking. She is so talented. Alison did an INCREDIBLE job with our wedding and engagement photos. She impressed my family so much, my sister booked Alison as her wedding photographer for her wedding next summer as soon as she saw the photos! I had complete confidence in her from the start – she did an incredible job with our engagement photos despite an impending rain storm (which ended up being an actual rainstorm, we rolled with it and the photos are stunning!) It’s a nice problem having too many favorite wedding photos.
She not only does incredible work, she got us our photos SO FAST. We got our engagement photos in about a week, and our wedding photos were turned around less than a week after our wedding!! For comparison, my cousin got married in June and is STILL waiting for her photographer to send her the gallery in December. It was so nice to be able to relive our favorite day while we were still at the beach on our honeymoon!! She does incredible work and is very efficient, you can tell she puts a lot of care into her photos as they are all just stunning.
She offers a photo booth (invisibooth) in addition to the wedding photo package - BOOK IT. Our guests LOVED the invisibooth photos, even my Dad's business partners were getting in on the goofy photo action! My husband and I were able to look through the invisibooth photos over breakfast the morning after the wedding (since she turned them around the morning after the wedding) - such a treat!
Can’t say enough good things about Alison and her work!

Alison Dunn is just the best--she and her team managed to capture every aspect of my daughter's engagement and wedding beautifully! Not only are all her shots top notch, she is truly adept at capturing those moments that really make a couple, their wedding, their event, and their families...you know, those moments that often go by without photo documentation but that really say so much! Alison is such a professional, talented, organized, creative and wonderful photographer! On my wedding day, she knew exactly what needed to happen and was completely helpful in making sure the day flowed beautifully. She created moments naturally and we never felt forced or fake in any photo. Not only did she capture such wonderful photos, there were so many photos of friends and family that I didn't even know that she got!! It was such as great surprise looking through all of our photos and seeing every aspect of our wedding day. If I could give Alison more than 5 stars I would!! She was, down to the very last minute and detail, AMAZING. Not only are our pictures absolutely stunning (everyone is speechless on how beautiful they are), but Alison was organized (she planned my wedding timeline for me since I didn't have a wedding planner!), very very friendly (even with a vivacious bridal party), and all pictures were available ahead of schedule. She made my husband and I comfortable in front of the camera (no small feat if you knew us) and we will 100% book with her again. I seriously can't say enough about Alison. Thank you!

I fell in love with Alison's photos the first time I saw them and I immediately knew that she was "the one." Her photos are so dynamic and she has an amazing way of portraying so much emotion through her pictures. Beyond the beautiful end product, Alison was organized, extremely responsive, and had an unreal turn around time (days not months). She is extremely professional and she and her crew kept our wedding day moving smoothly. She has such a sweet personality and made us feel so relaxed behind the camera, like she was one of our oldest friends. I would book Alison again in a heartbeat and can't wait until we have another milestone for her to document!

Choosing to work with Alison was one of the best decisions for our wedding! She displayed a good balance of organization and flexibility, which we greatly appreciated. She gave us a structured schedule of all of our photo opportunities throughout our wedding day (i.e. first look, family portraits, etc.). She also gave us direction in posing for photos and was attentive to our questions.

Alison was incredibly efficient in getting our wedding photos to us. We received all of our photos during our honeymoon, less than a week after the wedding!

Alison consistently went the extra mile in capturing the joy and excitement of our wedding. Her photographs really show that she loves what she does. It was a pleasure working with Alison and we could not recommend a better photographer.

Choosing Alison was easy. She did a friend's engagement photos and they were beautiful so we scheduled a call. After speaking with a few other photographers, I knew Alison was "the one" - throughout the process she was our most responsive, organized vendor and always responded within 24 hours to any inquiry (usually within 1-2 hours!). She traveled to NYC for our wedding and engagement photos.

Alison photos are natural - because she truly helps you pose (offers lots of variety in the end product) and her editing style is classically beautiful. Before the wedding I was skeptical about spending $ on photos, but after talking to friends with horror stories and then after Skype-ing with Alison, I knew it would be worth it. We are so glad we chose Alison and chose to invest in photos that we will have a love forever. The compliments keep rolling in!

Plus, her team was great. The Invisibooth pix are hilarious and help us know all our guests had a great time.

I definitely plan to give Alison more work in the future! (Portraits, baby photos, any excuse I can!!!!)

I cannot say enough great things about Alison of Alison Dunn Photography. Alison is so talented and her photographs are incredibly beautiful and breathtaking. I was so impressed with Alison when I met with her for the first time. I immediately knew she was the right photographer for our wedding. She really takes the time to genuinely get to know the couples she works with. She was very responsive and helpful throughout the wedding process. She was very knowledgeable about good locations for photos (and was prepared with options if it rained). The engagement session with Alison allowed us to get to know her and vice versa before the big day and get comfortable with the process of being photographed. She made us feel comfortable, natural, and at ease. I was so blown away when I received our beautiful engagement pictures and was so excited that she would be capturing our wedding day. Our wedding photos are so spectacular and stunning. We were so thrilled when we received them. Where to start with Alison...she is incredible and her work is breathtaking! This lady is so very talented. We had the pleasure of working with her for our wedding in 2014, and she captured our day perfectly. We saw her last year again for our first anniversary session and just saw her a few days ago for our second anniversary session. We now live 8 hours away in North Carolina, and though it would be a lot easier to work with a photographer that is local to us, we never will because nothing compares to Alison's work (really, nothing does). She does an incredible job of documenting the dynamic of each couple she works with. She also does an amazing job of capturing natural light. Every time we've received our photos back from her, I think I am going to come across a few favorites, only to realize that every photo she takes is amazing. To top it all off, she's extremely professional and one of the sweetest people you'll probably ever meet! I truly cannot say enough good things about her.

Alison was so great to work with. She was working on our wedding photos way before the wedding, months and weeks before we would get documents helping outline what photos we wanted to make sure we got with each family member and she had a template for each one with us filling in our specific family members names so she could call out to them directly and we didn't waste any time waiting for anyone in a picture we really wanted. She was out of the way when she needed to be, but captured the most beautiful photos at ever crux in the day. The end results were beautiful and I loved her attention to detail throughout the process.

Alison was exactly what we wanted in a wedding photographer! She was incredibly organized, responsive and professional throughout the whole planning process and wedding day. She provided a concise timeline which allowed us to plan ahead and feel less stressed on the big day. On our wedding day, Alison really helped us and our bridal party stay on schedule. Alison is AMAZING. From the very first email inquiry she was helpful and quick to respond, and remained this way over the course of the year of planning. She was genuinely excited to shoot our wedding and during the wedding planning process became more than just a vendor to us. Our engagement shoot was a blast and Alison eased all our anxieties about being the subjects of a photo shoot. During the engagement shoot she made us feel comfortable and definitely confirmed what we had already known: we made the perfect choice when we chose her! For the actual wedding day she blew away our expectations. She and her second shooter, Aaren, photographed all the important parts of the day, gave excellent directions during formal photos and then took awesome candid party photos for the rest of the night. She posted a beautiful teaser photo within hours of the wedding ending, a blog post with highlights within a few days and had our entire gallery ready in less than a week! We've gotten so many compliments on our engagement and wedding photos, people are seriously amazed by the beautiful work done by Alison. Alison was absolutely wonderful to work with and I would highly, highly recommend her services. She works quickly and efficiently, but without sacrificing quality; her photos always come out beautiful. She also edits them quickly and sends them to you within a few weeks, if that. I had friends waiting nearly a year for their wedding photos, and we had ours within two weeks. Alison made every effort to accommodate any requests we had for photos, whether it be poses, backgrounds, or specific shots. In addition to being an amazing photographer, she is just a wonderful human. I won't give away her secrets, but we received such adorable surprises from her that we didn't expect. Let me start by saying that Alison is the sweetest person you will ever meet, as well as an exceptional photographer. I wanted a unique photographer for our wedding, someone that would take more artistic photos rather than the cookie cutter wedding photos, someone who I was confident would capture our love on our special day. After looking through Alison's blog and website, I knew she was the one we wanted.
After booking our wedding package, we had our engagement photo shoot with her, which was included in the wedding package!! Alison made us feel so comfortable; she guided us through poses, making it all so easy and fun! She was also pregnant at the time, but that didn't stop her from climbing through trees and over rocks to make sure she captured the picture perfectly!
As the wedding day arrived, it was of course a hectic day but Alison was calm and relaxed and went with the flow. She again made everything so easy and fun for us. She had a second shooter, Meghan, who was so amazing as well!
One of the amazing things that Alison did, that just made our wedding day even more spectacular, was that she set out her laptop during the reception with about 20 photos from the first look, bridal party and family formals (same day edits, what!!!)
The other amazing thing the Alison did, was that we got ALL of our photos back in ONE WEEK! What photographer has a week turnaround time!?!? None, because Alison goes above and beyond with everything she does.
I can't say enough great things about Alison, and her photography. She is a sweetheart, that cares so much about her work, and making her clients happy. She is truly an artist; we have sent our wedding photos to family and friends and they all are SO impressed and can't believe how amazing the photographs turned out. We are so blessed to have chosen Alison to capture our wedding day so perfectly. We will have these photos for a lifetime, and we could not be happier with what she has given us!!

My husband and I knew Alison personally before we hired her as our wedding photographer, and we both knew how talented she was. Still, we were rendered speechless and in awe when Alison delivered the link to our full wedding album just a few days after our wedding. While on our honeymoon, my husband and I poured through photos and photos - each one quickly becoming "our favorite" until we realized we just love every single one! Alison is a beautiful soul; she's calm, warm, and made us feel extremely comfortable throughout the day. She knew when and how to direct a shot; and also when to capture the beauty of a natural moment. All of it comes through in the photos. I'm especially grateful for her eye for good lighting. After our cocktail hour, we followed our guests toward the barn where our reception was when Alison grabbed us away to "chase" the most perfect sun beams as the sun set through the trees. The resulting photos are magical. Through out the planning process, Alison was incredibly organized and on top of her game - identifying our timeline, asking the right questions, getting to know Jay and I and what we wanted for our wedding photos. She surprised us with sweet treats in the mail along the way - from a nice "so glad we're working together" welcome package to a "date night on me" box with popcorn and a free red box movie to make sure we had time to focus on "us" at the height of wedding planning. Simply put, she is an incredible photographer - and person - and we highly recommend her to any couple looking to capture their best, most important moments.

This review is embarrassingly late (Our wedding was July 2014), but Alison's quality of work and professionalism was absolutely wonderful and should be considered by other brides. When I was planning our wedding, I was looking for a photographer that had a natural and light style. Surprisingly, it was much harder to find a photographer that fit this style than I thought! That's why I was so excited when I found Alison! Her photos are breathtaking and she beautifully captured my husband and me on our wedding day. We also received tons of compliments on our engagement and wedding photos! And while I could gush about how amazing her photos are, you can easily see them in her portfolio, too. However, her work goes far beyond the photos she captures. She was always prompt in her replies, incredibly sweet in her personality, excited for our wedding, got to know us, gifted us a beautiful canvas, was incredibly courteous to our guests, gracefully directed us (as we were not used to being in front of the camera!), and laughed so much with us! We had a truly amazing experience with Alison, and we hope that other brides and grooms can have this stress-less, awesome, and fun experience too!

Alison is just a gift of a human being. From email one, I knew that she was the right choice for us. More important than anything, she is so easy to talk to and easy to get in touch with. I never worried that she wouldn't get back to us. (In fact, she usually got back to us within the hour! How?!) Not only did she effectively create our wedding morning timeline for us, but she provided us with stellar photos to remember the day. She helped us look our best, while still looking like ourselves. She steered the morning and afternoon clearly and efficiently, and then during the wedding and reception, she and her assistant were like ghosts! They were so professional and low-key, while still getting great photos to remember the day. Her turnaround time is RIDICULOUS. We got all of our completed photos while we were still on our honeymoon. We plan to use Alison for as many photo sessions as we can justify. (T minus 11 months until our first anniversary shoot!)

I can't say enough good things about Alison and her photography work! From day one when my now husband and I met her for coffee at the most adorable cafe in Northern Liberties I knew I wanted her to be our wedding photographer. Her friendly personality and warm smile made us feel comfortable immediately, which was great because wedding planning is stressful and overwhelming, but I could tell instantly we were in good hands. Her book of work speaks for itself - beautiful, effortless, magical pictures of the happiest times in people lives. I wondered how people looked so comfortable, I kept thinking to myself there is no way my fiancé and I can pull this off - and the only reason we did is thanks to Alison and her professionalism, her ability to make you feel comfortable, her ideas and suggestions - all perfect! The wedding day goes by so fast, its almost like a blur which is why I am even more thankful we have hundreds of beautiful, funny, real, candid pictures to always remember our day through. Alison was also incredibly easy to get in touch with and to discuss ideas with. Her suggestions for wedding day timeline and back up plans were greatly appreciated, her website for planning was easy to use and organized. On top of all this, her turnaround time for pictures after the wedding was THE BEST EVER! Within 5 days our sneak peek was on her blog and within 1 WEEK all of our pictures were ready for viewing and able to download. Thank you Alison! We couldn't have dreamed of a better photographer to work with! Also, the Invisibooth was a hit at our wedding - our wedding guests loved it and the pictures we able to be viewed the next day! We worked with Alison for our engagement shoot and our wedding photography, and she was my favorite vendor to work with. From the day we met her, I was really impressed with her warmth and professionalism. When we had our engagement photos done, Alison was so helpful, giving us direction and making it so much fun. We were both surprised by how much we enjoyed the shoot. Then we got the photos, and they were incredible! In the months approaching the wedding, Alison was so communicative and asked all the right questions to make sure the wedding day went as planned. She really went above and beyond throughout the entire process. On the wedding day, our planned portrait location ended up being blocked off (for the Pope's visit), but Alison quickly found another spot nearby, and it was perfect! She was calm, cool and collected, and that really helped during the happy chaos of the wedding day. We could not be more thrilled with how our photos came out. We also had her provide her photo booth, the Invisibooth, and it was a big hit at our wedding. Alison is an excellent photographer and a delight to work with!!

Alison was the PERFECT photographer! We got 9 hours of coverage and the invisibooth and I'm so happy we did! Even in our engagement shoot she made us feel so comfortable and natural in front of the camera. For our wedding day she was quiet (not clicking loudly during the whole ceremony), quick to snap all of her photos (especially of large family groups) and my FAVORITE part--I looked over while everyone was eating at the reception and I saw her sitting on the floor on her laptop..10 minutes later she had a slideshow going on one of the tables of a bunch of pictures of the ceremony and bridal party from earlier in the day, already edited and ready to go! That was awesome!!

Not to mention--after our engagement shoot she sent us a little J+K stamp in the mail (which we used in our wedding) and a few weeks before our wedding sent us another little gift in the mail! She's the sweetest.

I have gotten nothing but rave reviews from our guests about how amazing our pictures are, and how much fun they had in the invisibooth..which is really a MUST HAVE at your wedding! I spent half the night running in and out of peoples photos--and you can fit a ton of people in those pictures too! So great. I'm so happy with our choice to have Alison, and she will always be the first person I recommend, and the first person I think of if i ever need pictures taken! Alison is AMAZING! After seeing her work at two previous weddings we attended we knew we could trust her to capture all of the elements of our wedding day. She was very professional. From her first contact she was extremely prompt with email responses. Her package options made it easy to decide what we wanted. Our package included the complementary engagement session ( highly recommended!). Her organization in providing a pre wedding survey made photo time on our wedding day go smoothly. The session of family portraits, wedding party photos and couple photos were fast. Her creativity and ability to pose us, our guests and wedding party was effortless. In addition she is able to adapt to new settings very quickly.

One of the greatest joys was that we were able to enjoy our wedding ceremony and all of our reception. We went out for maybe 15 min during dinner to capture some sunset photos, but other than that Alison let us enjoy our time. One highlight to make is that mid way through the reception, Alison had formatted a slide show of photos from earlier in the day to display for guests. This detail received high praises with our guests. In addition we were so happy when we received our full wedding photo gallery only 6 days after our wedding! Above all we are EXTREMELY pleased with her product and can not wait to receive our photo album from her soon. I would highly recommend Alison Dunn Photography . My husband and I loved all her pictures. This photographer was very sweet, professional, and extremely easy to work with. She emails you back quick when you have questions. Her pictures for our wedding where beautiful. She captured moments in our wedding that we will treasure forever. So if you are looking for a photographer that captures beautiful moments than this is the photographer for you.I would definitely use her again in the future.

Alison is a simply wonderful photographer. She is every bit professional as she is creative (her work speaks for itself), and she was a pleasure to work with, helping to make the day and planning process as joyful and stress-free as possible. I have received so many positive comments from friends about how much they love our wedding photos, and I have also heard numerous positive comments from wedding guests and vendors (some vendors said she was the best photographer they had worked with) about Alison's professional yet also easy-going personality. My husband and I are SO happy that Alison captured our wedding day; both of us noted how fast she was at spotting locations (her use of light is breathtaking in the photos), and then how great she was at making us feels at ease, so that we could actually enjoy the time together when we were getting our photos taken! My sister also had her wedding captured by Alison; we are both equally delighted with the photos from our weddings, and both of us had great experiences with Alison. My husband and I are thrilled with how well our photos turned out. Alison had done my cousin's wedding and we knew we had to have her do ours as well. As we expected, every photo was stunning and we love showing them to all our friends and family. I had the pleasure of having Alison and her intern photograph my wedding. Alison was so much fun to work with, she was flexible and accommodating, and very well organized. She was also super creative, great at directing shots, and did an amazing job of scouting out locations with beautiful lighting and scenery, making our job so easy and stress free (I.e. Show up and do what Alison says, an you will get amazing shots; and have fun doing it!)

She was able to put a short slide show of pictures taken throughout the day up at the reception, which was such a special treat! We had a single picture preview sent to us the next day, a multiple picture preview on her blog a few days later, and all of our pictures within the week!

Every shot was crisp, beautiful, and very well positioned within the frame. We have so many beautiful pictures to choose from, that we are struggling to decide which ones to have developed and framed!

While Alison's pricing was very competitive (I.e. The most reasonable we found), the quality of her photography would never allude to this fact.

I am sure, when we have occasion to have photos taken again, we will be calling Alison. Additionally, I would (and have) recommended her to multiple friends of mine who are getting married!

Alison was a joy to work with from start to finish. From our engagement shoot to the final edits of our wedding pictures we were thoroughly pleased. We would not consider ourselves naturally photogenic people but Alison always made us feel comfortable and relaxed, I think it shows in our photos! She perfectly captured the aesthetic and importance of our big day. She even had photos from earlier in the day playing on a slideshow at the reception. It was a fun way for our guests to get a behind-the-scenes look at preparations for the event.
We would highly recommend Alison to any bride and groom to be who are looking for a professional, personable, and affordable wedding photographer. Alison has a real gift!

Where on earth do I begin with Miss Alison. To put it simply, she is amazing and you'd be stupid not to work with her. She made the entire wedding photography process so easy. She was responsive, prompt, and friendly from day one. She made it a point to check up with us every few months leading up to the wedding day (this was an absolute LIFESAVER because I had no idea what I was doing). She showed up early on our wedding day. About halfway through the reception she brought out her laptop and placed it near the bar so everyone could view some of the photographs she had already taken. It was an awesome surprise and made us even more excited to get the photos back! You won't feel like you're being pushed through an assembly line with her. She makes an effort to really get to know each of her couples before the wedding day and does an amazing job of differentiating personalities and stories through her photographs. None of what she does is generic, cookie cutter wedding photography. Her photographs tell a story. When we got our pictures back (which was less than a week after the wedding date…UNHEARD OF) I was blown away. I could not believe it was actually us in the pictures. We have received countless compliments from people about our wedding photos. If you’re looking for someone to document your wedding day in a way that captures who you are as a couple, Alison is the one to do it. She has a God given gift for this kind of work and we are beyond grateful that she was willing to work with us.

We cannot say enough about working with Alison to photograph our wedding. She was friendly yet professional throughout our entire experience. She touched base with us every few months leading up to the wedding. She had us fill out information on family, shots we definitely wanted, etc ahead of time which kept us all organized during the chaos of the big day. Alison was our wedding photographer and she did SUCH an amazing job! Throughout the entire planning process she was always easy to reach and responsive and asked us some great questions which ultimately gave us guidance about what we were looking to get out of our wedding photos. My groom is notoriously camera shy but Alison and her team were pros and gave just enough input to keep everyone focused and relaxed and the pictures turned out amazing. Another great and unexpected perk was that halfway through the wedding Alison had a computer with a slideshow set up with some of the shots that she'd already taken that day, which our guests loved seeing. We had our full set of wedding photos available to us within a week of the wedding, which was great! She's professional, organized, friendly, and extremely talented. Basically can't go wrong with her!

Picking a photographer is one of the most difficult decisions leading up to your wedding day. We were lucky enough to stumble across Alison's blog during our search for a photographer. We were instantly drawn to the personal stories she was able to weave through each blog entry. We met Alison the day of the event and she was genuinely kind and excited to be there. We hired two photographers so she had Melissa there as a second shooter. Alison helped us maneuver through normal wedding procedures, since we had never been in a wedding before. She made sure to keep us on schedule. Throughout the day we got numerous compliments on Alison's professionalism. Everyone was impressed by her bubbly personality and friendly nature. We received our pictures very shortly after our wedding and were overwhelmed by the beautiful moments she captured. Despite the fact that I had already seen her work, it was even more impressing to see your own images captured by Alison. After seeing our wedding pictures my husband already started planning hiring Alison for the baby pictures of our future children. We cannot speak highly enough of Alison she is truly a class act.

Ali is so fun and so talented! She does amazing, quality work, and was also very sweet and helpful throughout the whole process. She sent us tons of helpful information including schedules and gave us tips for the wedding. Alison was super nice and friendly throughout the whole photography session. I really did appreciate her professionalism but also her being very personable during the photo session. We had our wedding in Maryland and Alison had just moved to Philadelphia but she was still willing to come down and take our pictures even though the wedding was at 8am on a Sunday.
The pictures came out great and we couldn't be any happier.

Alison was a dream to work with! We lovelovelove her work and the way all our photos came out. What you don't see from her photos is the leg-work that goes into making the wedding day run so smoothly. Though it took a long time, Alison had us fill out a 7 page questionnaire about all the details of our day about a month before our wedding. It made the efficiency of our wedding day amazing! The family photos were a breeze. The transition from one set of photos to another was smooth. I (as the bride) didn't have to remember all the different details and special things to photograph during the day. I totally trusted her to do her job and that she would do it better than I imagined.
Also, the turn-around time for getting photos back was insanely fast. Done before we got back from our honeymoon.
Even though we paid a pretty penny for her, I highly recommend her services! Amazing work! Amazing artist! Amazing service!

Wow, it's hard to say enough good things about Alison.

First, you should know that she's incredibly fast. That means she will get you a few photos the DAY AFTER your wedding. And then will take only about a week or so to get you the full set. Some couples I know have waited a month or months.

Second, she's exceedingly thoughtful and generous. In the months leading up to the wedding, she snail mailed us things that we actually used in preparing for the wedding. (I won't ruin the surprise.)

Third, she has obviously perfected her process: she sent us a form to fill out to make sure she had all the information she needed, followed up regularly (but not too much), and everything the day-of went smoothly.

Fourth, she has a lovely personality and is a pleasure to work with.

Oh, and the photos turned out beautifully!

The only thing is that there are a couple things I wish she or I would have thought of. For example, one side of my hair was obviously the done-up side, while the other side was pretty plain, and quite a number of close-up photos show the plain side. I wish she had had me switch sides so that the done-up side was showing.

Overall: Alison is amazing. Hire her.

Alison takes beautiful, high quality photos at an extremely good value - lower than most comparable vendors. She did both my wedding and engagement photos and I couldn't be happier with them! She makes posing really enjoyable and very natural - not awkward in the slightest. She is also a logistical guru and even helped me plan what time I should have my wedding ceremony so that the lighting would be perfect for post-wedding photos. She sent us little goodies before and after our wedding just to add an extra touch of personalization and thoughtfulness. I would recommend Alison to anyone needing portraits, an engagement shoot, or a wedding day photographer. She's really just fantastic!

Absolutely stunning photos from a very patient photographer who helped us navigate the struggles of a COVID wedding

Trying to plan a wedding in the midst of a pandemic was certainly a challenge, to say the least, but Alison was so helpful and flexible throughout the entire process. Despite several date changes and a venue change (one week before the wedding!), Alison was extremely patient and encouraging.

On the day of the wedding, I was able to relax and enjoy the day, because I knew I could trust Alison to capture everything beautifully. Alison’s expertise was evident throughout the day as she skillfully helped keep our large bridal party on track and on time.

During our wedding reception, when different photo opportunities came up, both posed and candid, Alison was there and ready to capture the moments. It was a joy to look through the photos (which were delivered to us just days after the wedding!!!) and to see all the moments from the day.

I would highly recommend Alison Dunn Photography to any couple getting married. During your wedding, you don’t want to have to worry about how your photos will turn out. With Alison, you can feel confident that the photos you get will be absolutely stunning.

I came away extremely impressed with Alison, who we found via a couple of personal referrals. Her photography was excellent, but the personal service, flexibility, and the ease of working with her are what set her apart for me. The whole time, it felt like we just happened to have a close friend who wanted us to have great photos of an important day.
A few examples:
• When we got together for engagement photos, she said something like “okay now I know that this is weird, but lean really far forward and turn your chin awkwardly to the right”. Sure enough, that was one of our favorite photos
• She met with us for an initial discussion like 2 days after giving birth to her child. I never would have thought to care how “committed” our wedding photographer was, but she really does stand out on this dimension
• This story is the most ridiculous: to kick off the cocktail party, my wife used a champagne sword to slice off the top of a champagne bottle. Unfortunately, one of the shards hit Alison in the ankle, causing her to bleed a decent amount. When I went to go see how she was doing and to apologize, she was somehow apologizing to us, and regretfully telling us that she would have to step out but that her assistant photographer was really good and she would send an urgent text to her photographer friends asking for help. It was totally understandable and a professional response to a tough situation.

But then the craziest thing happened. SHE WENT HOME AND GOT HER DOCTOR HUSBAND TO GIVE HER 12 STICHES IN THEIR KITCHEN, AND THEN CAME BACK TO THE RECEPTION, which she stayed at an hour longer than we were paying her for. Crazy commitment.

Alison did a great job taking our pictures! All of them came out beautifully, she was extremely easy to work with, and very flexible. After taking some photos at our wedding she uploaded them on to her computer and played in a slideshow during our reception. Our guests really loved that! Also, she is very stealthy, we hardly knew she was there! We didn't feel like we were being pulled away from our party which was wonderful. She just went about her business and took beautiful photographs! Thanks Alison!

Alison was really awesome to work with. She was fun and exciting and probably looked forward to our wedding more than we did. I really enjoyed working with her. She was extremely professional with her business and I value you that a lot. Our photos turned out great for overall looks! Her prices are more than fair for photography and in comparison to others, she is for sure the winner.
For our guests with more photography knowledge, they brought to our attention many shots indoors were washed out with Alison's flash. In almost all of our indoor pictures, her flash across the room was a huge distraction in the pictures and sometimes blocked guests' expressions. I am not sure if this is a "style" but now I can't stop looking at the big white flash in the pictures.
Another thing mentioned from guests was there was more "ceiling" in some of the pictures instead of the people. Again, maybe a style and is based on personal preference.
Overall, I think the pictures came out great. We have a lot that we are going to frame. The wedding is so busy and the night went by so fast, I give Alison a lot of credit for being attentive to her role as the photographer and catching the action instead of being distracted.
