Alire Modern Bakehouse was amazing to work with! Our wedding was in November and everything that was promised came out perfectly. The flavors of cake were magnificent. We tried one of her tasting boxes first and it was SO HARD to choose a flavor, because they were all so delicious! The cake came out beautifully with a tier that looked like it was floating in mid air! I would recommend any couple getting married to look into Alire Modern Bakehouse for all of their dessert needs. She was a huge part of why our wedding was so beautiful and she was so easy to work with. -

Amazing catering for our wedding!
Toni did an amazing job catering our wedding! Everything was very smooth and most importantly delicious. Toni was very communicative from the start and was patient with us as sometimes we took a few days to respond with all of the other planning pieces going on as well as our normal lives. We also loved having a tasting session to make sure that our dessert choices were exactly what we wanted. We would highly recommend working with Toni! -

Toni was a pleasure to work with! She took time to listen to our vision and executed it perfectly. Not only was our cake stunning and exactly like our inspiration, but it tasted so delicious. We went with the flavors wedding white and marble. Although these were pretty basic flavors they were hit and our wedding guests loved it. Toni answered all of our questions and delivered and set up our cake without any problems. We highly recommend using Alire modern bakehouse if you want a beautifully designed, delicious wedding cake with seamless execution. -

Perfect cake of my dreams!
Toni is incredible! From the very beginning, she was so kind, communicative, and completely dedicated to making our wedding cake perfect. The design was breathtaking, and the flavors were absolutely delicious.
We also ordered tiramisu cups and macarons, which were a huge hit with our guests—I can’t imagine the day without them! Toni truly brought my vision to life and exceeded every expectation.

We ordered the wedding cake for my daughter's wedding in September from Alire Modern Bakehouse. The owner, Toni, was an absolute joy to work with. She responded quickly to my inquiry and answered all of my questions. In fact, she responded quickly to any questions I had along the way. She was helpful in deciding the size, etc. She is quite creative and her cake was truly the best wedding cake we have ever had! It was so fresh and moist but also just gorgeous. So many people at the wedding commented on the wedding cake with how gorgeous it was and how delicious it was. Since my daughter and her now husband live in another town with the wedding being in that town, Toni, delivered it all the way to the destination the day of the wedding and set it all up. She provided a beautiful cake stand which we mailed back to her the following day after the wedding. She was dependable, reliable, and a true professional. Earlier on, before my daughter and her fiance at the time decided on what flavor of cake they wanted, they were able to select a few and Toni mailed them a box with samples to try. That was so helpful for them in deciding which flavor to go with. She offers so many delicious flavors! We ordered, intentionally, a bit bigger cake than we needed so we would have some leftover to enjoy. The leftover cake didn't last very long. I would highly recommend Alire Modern Bakehouse. The owner is just fabulous to work with and will provide a beautiful and delicious wedding cake for your wedding.Alire Modern Bakehouse's reply:

I cannot recommend Alire Modern Bakehouse enough! We worked with Toni for our wedding and ultimately chose to have a a 4-tier cake and 2 kitchen cakes. Both flavors we selected were incredible, and the tiered cake was an absolute masterpiece! It was visually stunning and every detail was crafted with such precision and artistry. Gorgeous Wedding Cake!
Toni made the most GORGEOUS wedding cake for us! Our cake was 4 tiers (to serve roughly 110 people I think it was) and we were able to alternate flavors! We had a cake tasting with Toni as well and everything was so delicious! Our cake was exactly how I envisioned it complete with gold and pearl accents. -

Wedding in May
Great working with Toni! She is very easy to talk with and communicated her ideas and helpful insights for our wedding. Her cakes are delicious and she worked all the cupcakes into the cake table beautifully. Would use her again for our next event without hesitation! Innovative and Delicious
Highly recommend Alire Modern Bakehouse to meet every one of your wedding needs!
Toni was professional, punctual, and creative in making our wedding wants a reality. She decorated gorgeous and delicious cupcakes and a one tier cutting cake that was customized and showed our personality as a couple. We just celebrated our one year anniversary and kept a slice of cake in the freezer. Even so much later her cake was so delicious I forgot I was eating year old cake. -

Rebecca Sent on 11/11/2025Excellent Desserts, Challenges with Final Invoice
We booked Alire Modern Bakehouse for our cake and dessert bar. Throughout the evening of our wedding, we received numerous compliments about our cake and dessert bar treats. While our desserts from Toni were delicious, we had some communication issues when we were finalizing our order the month before the wedding.
When we sent in our choices of flavors/quantities for each dessert item, per the Alire Modern Bakehouse website, there was a 2 dozen minimum order for each item. I had also sent an email to Toni to confirm that if we wanted to have 4 flavors of dessert shooters, we would be ordering 8 dozen minimum; Toni replied to my email to let me know I was correct.
After we submitted our email with the choices for our desserts, Toni sent us a reply, stating that she requires a 3 dozen minimum order for each flavor of macarons and dessert shooters, and she asked that we adjust our numbers accordingly.
We immediately checked our contract and Toni's website, and sent her a screenshot of her website that lists a 2 dozen minimum per item. Toni replied to our email and said she thought it was "odd" that her website was showing us the "old" graphic. She then sent us a picture of a graphic of what she says is listed on her website for Dessert Bar Offerings, indicating a 3 dozen minimum per item, in addition to increased pricing. Toni also sent us another email explaining that she still had us down for the "old pricing." We reached out to Toni by email to explain, again, that this information, the 3 dozen minimum, is not listed on her website.
Toni was willing to make 2 dozen dessert shooters of 2 flavors for us and 2 dozen macarons for 3 flavors, but it was a frustrating experience because we had planned to offer more flavors, the 3 dozen minimum was not showing on her website, and I had confirmed the 2 dozen minimum for dessert shooters in a previous email.
I also sent Toni an email to ask about dessert signage and she said she would make them for $50; during our wedding, we noticed the signage was not out at the dessert bar. Our Day of Coordinator and catering staff checked but could not find the signage. I sent Toni an email to ask about the dessert signage, and she explained she would follow up with her delivery truck driver.
When I followed up with Toni by email, again to ask about the signage, she shared that her delivery truck driver told her that the signage had been in one of the dessert boxes. Toni told me since the signage had been lost in the shuffle, she would refund my $50 and that it would take 7-10 business days. It has now been more than 10 business days, and I have not received my refund.

Thank you for your kind words regarding your desserts and all the compliments you received. It is always our goal for your guests to love the desserts and it sounds like yours definitely did!
As far as the communication goes, I’m sorry you had a less than stellar experience. It’s never my intention to leave anyone dissatisfied. We did need to change our quantities to 3 dozen each and it’s something we had imprinted earlier this year. I tried to be fair to my current clients by letting them do some things 2 dozen and some 3 dozen which is what I did with you as well! As far as the signs, they were sent with my delivery driver but it does seem they were lost at the venue somewhere. I did send your refund the day you emailed me about it (October 21st) as seen in the screenshot below. If you would have reached out to me via email I could have looked more into this for you instead of me finding out via reviews. I honestly assumed you received it since I hadn’t heard back from you. Regardless, I’ll look into this tomorrow and email you with what I find out. Despite all of this, I’m glad you liked your desserts.

Expect disappointment from Alire Modern Bakehouse, so you can't be disappointed.
I really, really wish I could've had the same experience as everyone else who left glowing reviews for her did.
Communication: Correspondence with Toni was pretty spotty, but I'm not really even letting that affect this review...this review is just for the quality of what we got versus what we expected from seeing her portfolio, as well as the fact that she violated the contract terms. More on that later.
Our wedding date was originally set in March 2025, but had to be pushed back to December. The contract does have a stipulation that introduced the possibility of up to "15% inflation increase" for materials, so watch out for that. The actual inflation was not nearly that much. I have included a screenshot showing the buying power for $912.58 in July 2024 (when we first signed), and the actual value in September 2025 (the closest date for re-calculated inflation rate) as per the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics to show the equivalent of $942.35. I'm not sure why Toni went with the max 15% increase instead of the actual value of the materials. She was unable to provide an itemized list of cost changes for materials, so I'm not sure the full 15% was warranted.
Contract Violation + Wedding Schedule Adjustment: She knew, from day one, the location of the wedding and reception, and she signed a contract saying that she could be there between 9-9:30 am. Our day-of coordinator said she tried reaching out to Toni to have her honor the delivery window in the contract, and Toni stated she couldn't deliver until between 11:30 am - 12 PM because of the distance, but it's not like she didn't know that. Further inquiries from our coordinator to Toni were apparently ignored, so we had to adjust our entire wedding schedule to allow for our coordinator to box up the cupcakes when they were delivered late. (I've attached a screenshot of the contract highlighting the delivery window and location, the $150 charge for delivery which was late).
Appearance (Cake): For the actual cake design, we discussed inspiration pictures, which we sent two photos of what the cake was supposed to look like. We ordered a geode cake, and wanted it to look like a sky blue crystal with gold accents. It was stated as such in our email correspondence, which I've included as a screenshot. Our actual cake (please ignore the triangle cut, that's where we cut the cake during our reception), does not look up to the same quality as the geode cakes included on Alire Modern Bakehouse's Instagram, and it's completely missing any gold accents. The cake is very lackluster...I've included different angles to show how it is. A lot of our guests couldn't even tell it was a geode cake -- they thought it was a very strange design and were surprised when we told them what it was supposed to be.
Flavor and Texture (Cake): The chocolate cake was very dry. I (and many others) feel like the cake was most likely frozen and thawed before the wedding. The frosting didn't save it. Our 10-year-old, who lives for chocolate, refuses to eat the chocolate cake, saying it's too dry and doesn't taste good. In the pictures of the cake, you can tell how dry the cake is just by all the chocolate cake crumbles along the cutlines on the cake.
Appearance (Cupcakes). Now, the cupcakes look good. They're basic, but that's fine. They're what we discussed (yay!). We did assume that the peach compote was going to be embedded into the middle of the cake portion, and not just sitting on top hiding under the icing, but whatever. Not nitpicking in this review (I know I know...this is a long review, but you can't say anything so far has been a nitpick).
Flavor and Texture (Cupcakes): A lot of guests said that the "Millions of Peaches" cupcakes were delicious and moist. My wife confirmed this. However, a lot of guests said that the Chocolate cupcakes were extremely dry. I confirmed this when I ate one.
It's a bummer, and I hate to write such a negative review...but here we are.Alire Modern Bakehouse's reply:

I’m sorry you were not happy with your order. I wish you would have emailed me a remedy instead of a negative review but that’s okay.
As far as the cake being dry, I have genuinely never had a complaint about my cakes being dry. I also tried your cake personally the day before your wedding when I baked it (I cut the tops off) and I can confirm it was as moist as all of my cakes.
As far as the inflation, when you postponed your wedding I made sure you and Angela were both aware (and it says so in the contract) that you would incurre 2025 pricing. I however did not do this, but unfortunately you did get the same 15% across the board that all of my clients received. It does say in the contract it could be up to 30% but I only did 15% because I thought that was fair for everyone involved.
As far as the delivery time, I had confirmed early delivery with everyone. Your coordinator emailed me and asked if I could delivery between 12-12:30pm. I told her that was fine. She then sent a new timeline and again confirmed the 12pm delivery which I confirmed. This was 2 weeks and 1 week before your wedding. The day before the wedding she emailed me and asked if I could deliver earlier and at that point I had rearranged my entire day to make her requested 12pm delivery so I was not able to.
As far as the appearance of the cake, I specifically asked Angela which colours she wanted and she said she wanted to stick to the entire darker blue colour which is what I did. In the pictures the frosting does not look as nice and I’m assuming that’s from it being put in that box that it’s in, since it wasn’t in the box at delivery.
