Alex not only captures phenomenal pictures of your wedding, he captures its essence. He is everywhere, but unobtrusive. When you get your photos, there will be many that you honestly had no idea he was around at that moment.

He is professional, timely, communicated well (both listening to what you want and communicating what he will do), and also, just fun to have around.

Do yourself a favor, set a date way in advance and then book him!

After a few months of researching photographers I finally decided to give Alex a call and I'm so glad I did! From the first phone call and the many many (so many) emails to come he was always very professional and so much fun to work with! My husband and I are definitely not models (by any means) but Alex always made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and somehow made us look like rockstars during our engagement session and the day of our wedding! Alex had a way of capturing every little moment of our wedding day. Even the moments I didn't know were happening. I have never once said "oh man I wish someone would have taken a picture of that" because he did! Like I'm pretty sure he is a Jedi or something! If you are in the market for an amazing photographer that your family and friends won't stop talking about (like seriously he's that good) hire AlexM Photography. You won't be disappointed!

Where to start... Well first, my fiance and I were just looking for a local photographer to shoot our engagement pictures in Austin. Newly engaged, I wasn't very good at navigating WeddingWire apparently and stumbled upon Alex (FYI, he's not in Austin). But then I read a few posts from his blog... and I was hooked. I called him to see if he would shoot our engagement pics and he said he would but also sent me pricing to travel to our destination wedding in Key Largo, FL and shoot our wedding. Turns out he was better priced than the Florida photographers recommended by my venue. Plus we had the added bonus of meeting him at the engagement shoot before the big day. And my fiance is kind of shy so I knew the photographer was someone he needed to get to know and feel comfortable with if we were going to get some good pics!
So about 2 minutes in to the engagement shoot I knew we'd made the right choice. Alex was so easy to work with and made both my fiance and me instantly relaxed. And our pictures turned out perfect... not like out of a JCrew catalog but exactly like us, just really pretty us.
For wedding day, Alex went above and beyond. I'm one of those unfortunate brides who planned an outdoor wedding and had it rain all day. But Alex wasn't phased at all. He got beautiful shots and you can't even tell its raining. And he's super stealthy. About half the time I didn't even know he was photographing me which makes for great pictures when you tend to be a little awkward in photos! And he made my job so easy! Beforehand we'd had a phone call about which shots were important to me and he got all those but also even better ones that I hadn't imagined. All of our friends and family loved him and haven't stopped raving about what a great job he did. I'm super sentimental so by far the most important part of the day for me was these photos and I know that what he created will help those memories last a lifetime. From the bottom of our hearts Alex, thank you so so much!

Alex was absolutely amazing at both our engagement session and our big day. He was professional, funny, and unobtrusive. We have received our wedding pictures much sooner than expected and they are fantastic. I cant believe how many shots he got that truly showed the emotion my husband and I have for each other, without constantly posing us or interfering with our reception. He was so good to me the day of by keeping the mood light and funny. I am so pleased with his professionalism and his skill. I would choose him again in a heartbeat!

The decision we made to invest in our photographer was a big one... Turned out to be the best thing we could've done + we are SO happy how everything turned out.

The BEST thing about booking Alex for your wedding is he becomes a lifelong friend. The second we got engaged, my mom told me about AlexM and we booked him (1.5 year ahead) before we planned anything else. He captures your relationship perfectly, makes everything so much easier and so fun. The most stress free, entertaining and awesome guy on earth. His blog with updates from other awesome couples, Marriage Mondays are my favorite, surprise packages and hilarious e-mails.

Thank you doesn't even express how grateful we are to have had AlexM! You only choose once, so choose wisely. ;)

I can not say enough good things about Alex. He is incredibly talented and such a great guy. He made every experience unforgettable. My husband and I very highly recommend him and his services for any photography project. We are constantly showing off our photos and everyone comments on how great they are. Alex was absolutely a pleasure to work with. He was professional and very well organized. All of our correspondence was handled in a timely manner, everything was spelled out clearly from the start, and his online access to everything made it very easy to conduct business.

We also felt like he really took time getting to know us and what we were looking for. We had a small but loud and energetic group (small children, a dog etc) and he was patient and worked well with all of our idiosyncrasies.

My husband was especially pleased with how efficient he was. He was clear from the get-go that he would pose for pictures for a while but that if it drug on too long, he was going to say it was enough. We did not have that problem at all. Alex moved us through a number of beautiful shots so smoothly that we didn't even realize how many beautiful moments he captured until we looked at the proofs.

On a final note, if you have the opportunity, say "YES" to the Mug Machine. This was a wonderful addition, which I didn't even know I wanted. Our guests absolutely loved getting to dream up all of their own scenarios for pictures and it was a great way to capture everyone's individual personality.

As they say, pictures are worth a thousand words and my words simply won't be enough in this case, but I'll try! Out of all of the vendors that we worked with for our wedding, Alex was hands down the best decision we made. It was so important to me that we had a good photographer since everyone says the day goes by so fast and Alex was beyond amazing. From snapping our engagement pictures in 28 degree weather to shooting our wedding in 100 degree weather, Alex not only documented the details of our wedding, he took pictures that captured the personalities of our friends, the emotions shared with our families and all of the memories being made.

I genuinely can't say enough positive things about our experience with Alex and the pictures he took. Everyone who has seen our pictures has said that we chose the perfect photographer as he really got pictures that show us and who we are. One of my friends even said she wants to get married again just to have Alex take her pictures...

In addition to gorgeous pictures, he's incredibly responsive, helpful and fast with turnaround times! And you MUST get the Mug Machine. It made our wedding a hit and we have the best pictures to remember our special day with!

HOLY GUACAMOLE!! Alex M is a baller and a shot caller. Mind blown. Expectations exceeded. Our images came out perfect and I told my groom I felt like I had a personal assistant all evening the way Alex took care of me. He thought of everything, was extremely professional, didn't miss a shot and was an over-all-pleasure to work with. I would recommend Alex a million times over and pray he has much blessing and success. Can't wait to say I knew this man when he becomes big famous! ;) Don't think twice. Hire this guy. He'll probably even make you laugh a time or two.

Alex is like a superhero; a superhero that does photography! Creative and quirky, he works his magic to make you look better than you really are! :) Now that's a great photographer, not mention he is brilliant at capturing the things that make awesome memories. My fiance (nay, HUSBAND!) was vehemently against hiring a professional photographer for our wedding.

"We have artistic friends who take good pictures', he said.
"They'll do a great job!', he said.
"It'll be enough,' he said.

Conversely, I love photography. So, if there was one thing I was going to splurge on for my wedding, it was a photographer. We went fisticuffs over it, and he, not being so strong, lost. I searched for a long time to find the perfect person to work with, and just when I was feeling like it was a lost cause, I ended up finding Alex. I almost didn't contact Alex. I figured he was too far away and wouldn't want to book something like that. Obviously, I did contact him, and obviously it worked out. By which I mean, I think we might ask to adopt Alex soon.

The engagement and bridal sessions were awesome, and I would have left rave reviews at the end of either of those experiences. But, the wedding day set him apart in a way that I could not have expected. Alex was totally ok with my (probably overly) laid back approach, and fit right in with it while maintaining a truly professional attitude, managing to keep our sometimes ridiculous friends wrangled. Not to mention the migraine I got right. before. I was supposed to walk down the aisle. I literally could not see. Alex was a pro at dealing with my illness, and ended up covertly snapping some of the sweetest moments of the evening.

I would type so much more, but I'm being given a character limit. Alex is a true pro, and while his physical work is amazing, what sets him apart is his concern for his clients as people. He values more than the photos that will become his portfolio - he values marriage as an institution. As much as I feel we made an investment in him, we truly feel like he made an investment in us as well.

Alex made every part of the process fun and personal - from engagement photos where he got to know my now husband and I as a couple, to the bridals where he incorporated my vision and some fun, to the wedding day where he captured each and every beautiful moment! There is no one else I would have trusted to capture my wedding day - Alex gets a huge high five!

Alex was incredible! So easy to work with and made being a "model" for our photographs super comfortable. I didn't even have to think about anything on my wedding day except getting married because of his professionalism and knowing what all to expect and what was happening next throughout the whole day! The pictures turned out incredible from EVERY shoot (our engagements, my bridals and the wedding). I honestly cannot stop looking at them and kind of want to send the link to anyone and everyone - even though that might be a little weird for complete strangers to see all 600 photos of my wedding day. :)

The turn-around time was super fast even though the quality was outstanding! He's so flexible and fun and definitely will give you the photos that will be unique to you and your wedding/personality.

I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone needing wedding photography. If you can talk him into doing other portraits as well, you should definitely let me know! ;)

Alex was the best "vendor" for our wedding. He did a flawless job. He handled my family and crazy friends like a pro. We had a wedding party of 25 (15 groomsmen and 10 bridesmaids), Alex embraced the challenge and our photos came out amazing! He was super flexible when it came to scheduling our sessions for engagement and bridal. He has great ideas and encourages you to share your own. He even sent us a care package for a date night... how much more awesome can you get? Alex took the time to make sure that I was taken care of and that things were going at the pace I wanted them to go. What more can you ask of a photographer? He is worth more than every penny I paid!

After we set our wedding date, the first vendor we booked was Alex. Best. Decision. Period. My husband and I, along with our family and friends, have nothing but the highest praise for him and his work. During our engagments, he helped us to get comforable in front of the camera and, you know, delivered some awesome photos. During my bridals, he helped me find the PERFECT venue and captured photos that could seriously be on the cover of a magazine.

Alex went above and beyond for both of those shoots, but I think what really sets him apart is how much he actually cares about the couples he works with. He was always there with any planning advice we needed, and the thought that he put into something as simple as captions on his blog posts helps to highlight the love and personalities in his already glorious photos.

And then there was the wedding. If there was any question about how awesome Alex was, (which there wasn't!) the wedding squashed it. For days after our wedding all we got was "that so much fun! and so beautiful! And your photographer was so awesome!!" I kid you not. I'm still getting comments on how wonderful he was. And I absolutely agree. Besides the epic mug machine (that EVERYONE loved, even my 84 year old grandmother), he was AWESOME with all of the kids at our wedding, AND handled our potenially disasterous family dynamics with much consideration and decorum. That was huge. :)

We fully enjoyed working with Alex and would again in a heartbeat! You should too!

You often see eBay feed back that says "A++++, Great Service, Great Communication, Would do business again!". That pretty much describes my experience with Alex. Alex made the process of taking pictures a fun and enjoyable experience. I received several comments from friends and family about how well the pictures turned out or how impressed they were with his professionalism throughout. Take a look at Alex's work on his website and his blog. If you like his style and choose his services, you can be confident that you will get a great end product. The only bad part, is that I won't be doing business again with Alex. ;)

Let me start off by saying I work for a professional portrait photography studio and I am also a photographer myself, so the pictures were the most important decision for me. Alex was super helpful and creative. He's easy-going but very on top of his game. If he was stressed, I never knew it. And on the wedding day, he was very attentive, making sure I was hydrated and cooling off between pictures. We did a location shoot for the engagement session in Austin and also had our wedding there about 6 months later (we live in Dallas, so it was about a 2 hour drive). There was no time limit and he travelled for free-- major plus. He also worked with me on pricing because of our budget. And not only were the pictures fantastic, but he also got them back to me quicker than he estimated in the beginning (about 2-3 weeks). He is extremely talented and I would not hesitate to recommend him for anyone else I know who is getting married. If you want peace of mind about your photographer, choose Alex.

Alex was awesome to work with! He captured the most special moments of my life for my Husband and I - through our Engagement Session, my Bridals and our Ceremony/Reception - I truly couldn't be more happier with the pictures that I, and all my family and friends, have to look back on forever - they already bring back the happiest memories. They are PERFECT, simply PERFECT!!! He is a great guy, listens, and has a natural talent for photography. We felt like movie stars and the pictures reflect it! I just think its really nice to find a photographer who you don't have to worry over. There are going to be so many other little details to fix and decisions to make you don't need to question if someone is doing a good job at capturing one of the most important days of your life. In a nutshell, you can trust him. Your wedding is important to him and so are you.

Alex made everyone feel comfortable behind the camera. He was very quick with the formal photos. He treated us like close friends. He remembered everyone's names, and he even gave a few of the groomsmen nicknames- "Ice Nipples".. haha. I would work with him again- no questions asked.
The pictures are awesome! He really knows how to capture a moment. I can't wait to print out my favorites and get them framed!

Alex M epitomizes a great photographer. He makes sure you are comfortable but stretches the limits. I have to admit I couldn't wait to meet him after emailing back and forth for months, he's hilarious! I had a hard time explaining to my mom why photography was THE most important element on our wedding (besides us of course) and why it costs some serious paper. After the fact, she knows every penny was worth it! I have had family members and bridal party members who can't wait to book Alex for private shoots. Everyone commented on how he wasn't just "the photographer" but he felt like a family/friend guest at the wedding. He made me an awesome personalized guest book with our engagement photos where people sign and answer questions about us inside - it's my favorite thing on my coffee table. He offers planning advice and vendors, and he tells you how it is. No BS.

He is pretty much my new BFF. I know my husband and I will stay in contact with him. Alex has a way of connecting with people in just the right way. I am not surprised at all that every couple who books him LOVES him. Go ahead, book him. You won't regret it.

There was this one time, when I got married, and AlexM was there, and if he hadn't been, my wedding would be a blur in my memory.

The most important thing to have at your wedding is not the food or the cake or the flowers or your dress or anything else that will never be utilized again... it's the photographer and the images that are captured in those moments that can NEVER be duplicated.

AlexM isn't your typical "photographer". He has a gift. His gift is to capture those moments that can't be duplicated, in a way you never thought possible. He'll capture everything you want him to, but those won't be your favorites, your favorites will be the creative ways he makes you shine, the unique ways he percieves things that you can't ask of him, he just does them. AlexM is the one thing without a doubt you NEED at your wedding so that you can re-live your wedding day, over, and over, and over again.

But if typical is what you want.... sure, go with some other "picture taking guy".... but you're gonna regret it!

If you're looking for a photographer with a range in style, AlexM is your guy. He can go the traditional route or completely contemporary...or anywhere in between. My fiance and I are so happy with our choice in hiring him. He has definitely made our wedding experience stress free. His customer service makes us love him even more. He has such a quick turn around and reasonable prices. He is professional without being stuffy.

Alex is AMAZING! My husband and I are not really into having pictures taken of ourselves but he made everything so comfortable and fun. We got a CD of all of our engagement, bridal and wedding photos today and there are so many great pictures to choose from. You have got to check out his Mug Machine and SuperSquares. Love! If you want beautiful and unique pictures of your wedding that really capture all the best moments of your day, trust me, Alex is your guy!

Alex was the BEST. I had a minor (at the time it seemed MAJOR) dress problem (dress came in a week before the wedding because the original dress I ordered came in the wrong size and had to be reordered!).Of course, I FREAKED because this meant my dress would not arrive in time for my scheduled bridal portraits. Alex totally went out of his way and went way beyond what could have been expected of him to make sure my bridal portraits were still SUPER perfect. I'm sure he lost sleep, and he did it for me and my husband :) Much more than we could have expected from any photographer. Thanks, Alex!

Love AlexM!!!! He was super easy to work with! Our engagement and wedding pictures are awesome! He captured us perfectly!! Not only was he a great photographer, he also was a big help during the wedding. He chased down my bouquet and a drink... And put up with my prissy dog!!! The photobooth was a huge hit as well!!!
Alex is very responsive! He was quick to return calls, emails, and PICTURES!!! We had pictures when we returned from our honeymoon!

Alex is just the best. Period. I am EXTREMELY picky about my photography & when I met Alex, it was just ment to be! He catches the moments that make your heart melt but also catches the quirky things that make your wedding unforgettable. He had me sold with his work alone but the fact that he provides you with all your wedding files just makes him the icing on the cake! The first look that he offers makes your ceremony so much better. And the mud machine is just too cool for school. Love him! He's amazing!!!!!

Alex was a phenomenal photographer! Awesome attitude, hard working, fun to be around! Everything was great from the engagement session to bridal portraits and all of the photos the day of the wedding. He definitely made the day of very stress free. Highly recommend the Mug Machine! Alex is creative, good-hearted, super fun to work with, and really has a gift for making people feel relaxed in front of the camera. Before our wedding, we worried we might have to do corny, canned, silly poses, but Alex seemed to totally get our personalities and style and captured every moment accordingly. Bottom line: he’s really cool, really talented, and worth every penny.

Brides to be: Like all women...we usually know when we are ready to get married even if we aren't sure if we know who "the one" is. I know I did and I knew I wanted Alex....as my photographer of course!! His unique and high quality work is what made Alex #1 on our wedding wish list. We are and will always be in love with our engagement, bridal, and wedding pictures! They aren't just posed pictures like other photographers do. They actually capture the moment and tell the story of that day. He even goes above the call of duty and researched a movie to get an idea of something we want to do with some of our photos. The only thing we have to work on is expanding the types of photography he does... At one point he promised my husband Brad to shoot my obituary photo so.... there could be hope on making him take our pregnancy photos, family pics, anniversary parties, etc. To wrap it all up, we love pictures...we love the art work that Alex creates and if it was up to us he would probably just follow us around capturing our life lol....Thanks Alex for truly making our journey to marriage fun, one of a kind, and something we will always be able to cherish.

Finding THE perfect wedding photographer to capture your special day......super scary! Sending a check to some guy you've never met.....panic attack! Ladies don't fret...AlexM did such an amazing job that I feel like I should send him more money because every time I look through our photos I get more excited about them! My BEST wedding planning decision...besides my hubby of course :)

Before I was engaged I knew who my photographer was going to be. The only
problem was I didn't even have a potential husband in my life! When I did
become engaged, I sent a list of my top 5 photographers to my then Fiancé, Rob.
He immediately, without a doubt, hands down, knew that his favorite photographer
was the one I had already chose long before I met him, AlexM. There was
something special and different to his photos compared to others. Something that
told a love story in a way that was deeper than any photographer we had
encountered. I knew that the hard part was convincing my mom to make such an
investment into something that seemed so.....not a priority. When my mother and
I met Alex, it only took ten minutes of him explaining and displaying his
photography awesomeness before she was pulling out her checkbook. The decision
we made was an "investment". One that has yet to be a regret to this day. My
mother still carries our wedding photo album in her purse to show the next
person she meets. I still watch our slideshow at least once a week. Rob and I
see our pictures as a beautiful story that we pride ourselves to share with our
children one day. Not just a story they hear and roll their eyes about, but a
story they can see and feel through the pictures that tell it. One that can be

I'm a wedding photographer, so figuring out who was going to be in charge of shooting my own wedding was the first thing I was going to nail down... even before the dress. I researched so many photographers, and probably contacted about 15 but never really connected with them. Then I found Alex. I must have read every single blog he did. He was the only person that called me. He wasn't distracted or just making small chat... he genuinely wanted to know. I was hooked - hooked on his personality, what he offered and most of all on his work.

We booked him and he shot my engagements, bridals and my wedding. During the engagement session, he managed to get amazing shots of my husband and I together above all the silliness. During my bridals, he kept me calm, made me laugh and dealt with the huge entourage of woman that came with me. One guy handling 8 women, all with different opinions, including the bride who's a photographer herself? That's talent!! About a week before the wedding, we spoke on the phone and of course, I was the nervous bride. He made me feel better, gave me a pep talk I've given my brides and said what I was telling myself and what everyone else was telling me. "It doesn't matter what happens... you'll be married by the end of the day." For some reason, when he said it, it stuck.

On my wedding day, he was there before I was, reminded me to smile so every picture didn't look like I was about to hurl and made sure every shot I wanted was taken. Bottom line - I couldn't have picked a better person to document the best day of my life. Thank you doesn't even begin to cover it... but maybe my ridiculously long testimonial will. :)

Alex is not only a professional photographer but knows how to keep things interesting, keep you relaxed and still have fun during your time with him. He loves what he does and it shows in his work no matter the subject....because he sees the beauty in everyone and everything! Alex Maldonado of Alex M photography is an amazing photographer. His eye for detail is awesome and he truly brings life to the photograps. He is very fun and laid back and doesn't mind getting in silly positions to get the best shot possible. I honestly could not have chosen a more perfect photographer for our wedding and all the little extras he provides/offers definitely are well worth it.
