Wedding highlight!
Alexandra was great to work with from planning to performing at our wedding! She was easy to communicate with and responded quickly. We hired a trio to perform for 2 hours including our ceremony. We only selected 3 songs for our ceremony and then the trio had free rein. All of our guests raved about the selection they played and didn’t want the set to end! Our guests are still talking about the music and how they enjoyed guessing the songs being played. Thank you for providing beautiful entertainment at our wedding! -

Highly Recommend!
Using Alexandra & Ensembles for our wedding at Waterloo Village was one of the best decisions for our wedding. Alexandra played the cello together with a guitarist and they were world class. Something that was great was that the duo was able to play the songs that we loved most and that were not on the original playlist that she provided. This made our ceremony extra special. Everything we could've hoped for!
We could not be happier to have worked with Alexandra and the WeddinGigs team for our wedding! They are incredibly talented musicians, and they were so responsive and communicative throughout the entire process. We really appreciated their flexibility with song selection, and our guests said the music was absolutely beautiful. Couldn't recommend them strongly enough! -

Amazing Duo that is worth the price!
Alexandra is very responsive to our inquiries from the start. They also accommodated songs in our setlist that are not part of the song list (for violin & cello duo).
They arrived on time and performed flawlessly even with minimal cues on when to play.

Fantastic quartet for cocktail hour
We hired WeddinGigs for our cocktail hour and they were incredible! Their list is extensive and they allowed us to choose an extra song to play that was off the list. Our guests were raving about the music and we would highly recommend them for any event! -

Beautiful Ceremony Music
My husband and I hired Weddingigs for our ceremony musicians. After a long and thorough search for ceremony musicians I knew I found the perfect group when I watched and listened to the videos and recordings of Alexandra playing her cello. We immediately hired the cello and guitar duo for our pre-ceremony and ceremony music. From their songs list it is clear that they have incredible range. I cannot describe how beautiful the music was as we all walked down the aisle. Thank you so much Alexandra– We can listen to you play all day! -

Best part of our big day
If I could give WeddinGigs 10 stars, I would. We had a cello & guitar duet for our wedding, and Alexandra and team absolutely knocked it out of the park. We are so thankful we chose them to accompany us on our special day. We had a very intimate, 10 person micro wedding and each one of our guests commented many times about how wonderful the music was. It was perfect for our space and guest count and I would highly recommend this team! -

Fantastic quartet: exactly what we wanted
Alexandra & Ensembles was incredibly easy to work with and the quartet provided a beautiful performance at our wedding. Alexandra was extremely responsive and put us at ease throughout the whole process. The quartet nailed the specific version of a song I wanted as recessional (not the more common popular version) and learned a new arrangement for our processional outside of their usual repertoire as well - all included in their booking price! Our guests gave us so many compliments on the quartet and I certainly teared up as well throughout the ceremony. Thank you for providing such beautiful music for our special day! Highly recommend! -

Perfect for event

Perfectly beautiful ceremony music
We chose the a trio (violin, guitarist, & cellist) for the ceremony music at our June 2021 wedding at 74Wythe. The musicians were very professional and the music was beautiful. They were able to play our three preferred song choices, as well as the music ahead of the ceremony. Alexandra was also great to work with ahead of time. She is organized and very responsive. I would highly recommend her team to anyone! -

Wedding Ceremony Cellist/Pianist
Alexandra and her team provided the perfect music for our outdoor ceremony. They come with their own equipment and speakers, and even provided a microphone for our officiant for a fair fee. She is very professional and offers a large repertoire to choose from. -

A perfect addition to wedding ceremony
Everyone at our wedding ring about the life musician and how much it added to our ceremony. Alexandra was fantastic to work with, she gave prompt responses and was easy to communicate with. There were no hidden fees and she was able to play a special song that we requested. -

Just Perfect…
Alexandra was so easy to work with - an absolute professional. We chose a Cello and Guitar duo for our Wedding ceremony & cocktail hour. They have a large variety of song choices in their repertoire and were able to seamlessly transition across the different genres. They exceeded all expectations my (now) husband and I had - I still get goosebumps thinking about my walk down the aisle. Our guests are still raving, weeks after our wedding. Alexandra & Ensembles made the best day of our lives even better. -

Absolutely amazing!!
Alexandra and her ensemble were absolutely amazing!!! We changed our date 3 times due to the pandemic, and Alexandra was extremely understanding and flexible throughout the whole process!! Our final date ended up being in the middle of a hurricane, and she still came in all smiles!! She and her ensemble played beautifully, and all of our guests were blown away! She even a song that was special for me and my parents to walk down to. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Alexandra, and we would love to work with her for many future celebrations!! -

Still blown away
We were completely blown away! We chose the cello/guitar duet for our ceremony and cocktail hour and we are still getting compliments two months later! Alexandra was very easy to get in touch with and walked us through picking our songs. We didn’t go with your typical wedding march and recessional but that made it all the more special because this duo was so beyond talented. Just hearing them start to play before I walked down the aisle had me in tears. They helped us to personalize our ceremony to fit our love and then made our cocktail hour that much more enjoyable playing covers of songs we adore. I highly recommend these amazingly talented performers to any couple who is looking to add a personal touch to their wedding and entertainment that will surprise and wow your guests! So lucky to have had them play at our wedding!
Alexandra & Ensemble was perfect for our ceremony and cocktail hour. We decided to go ahead with their guitar trio team. Their music was absolutely beautiful and perfect. Even listening to their sample songs on their website made me emotional. They were so easy to work with and was able to play some special songs that we requested, which guests loved! They are so talented. We are so thankful we were able to have them for our special day despite all that's happening around us.

definitely must have for your wedding
Alexandra and her team did such an amazing job for my wedding. Her price was affordable and she was extremely easy to work with. Hiring her and her team made my wedding extra special and gave it the bit of wow factor that I was looking for. My husband wanted to be extra and wanted to play a certain song that Alexandra had to learn for his ceremony walk-in entrance. My husband loved it so much that he said he purposefully tried to walk slower to enjoy the song. -

Wonderful and Very Professional
Alexandra and the trio were wonderful. Very responsive to our emails and were able to play all of our requests. The most important was the bridal procession which was an oddball choice of ours that they played very well. The trio was extremely professional and really created the ambience we were looking for during the reception and the cocktail hour. We would absolutely hire them again for a future event. -

Lovely cello/guitar duo!
Alexandra and her guitarist friend played for our wedding at Oheka castle for our ceremony and cocktail hour. Alexandra was extremely responsive and easily accommodated all of our song requests. They also were able to figure out how to get the power working at the garden location for the ceremony, which was great so the guests could all hear through the amp. Overall, I highly recommend Alexandra! -

One of my best decisions
To start with, my mom couldn't stop talking about the string trio days after my wedding. She loved it soooooo much!
We hired the string trio (violin, guitar, and cello). The team is very professional, dedicated, plays really really well(highly skilled). The playlist for cocktail hour is nice. Looking back, we really think that having the string trio really lifted up the the atmosphere for ceremony and cocktail hour. The team even learned a new song for my recessional! -

A highlight of our wedding!
Alexandra and Ensembles performed at our wedding in July 2019. They blew us away! From the ceremony to the cocktail hour, they set the tone for our event, and all of our guests were talking about them! They bring professionalism, excitement, good vibes, and strength to their performance. Alexandra was very responsive in the planning process, and she and her group learned a few songs that were important to us for our ceremony. We would choose Alexandra & Ensembles over and over again if we could! -

Alexandra and Ensembles made our daughter and son in law's wedding an extraordinary event! They played beautifully for the first 90 minutes of the wedding dinner and every guest commented on their performance.

Amazing quartet. Alexandra was amazing to work with.
Alexandra was very responsive to any and all questions. We had a few requests, with one major for our dance. Our song was “A Thousand Years” and we wanted the Piano Guys’ version. Our request was to have the DJ play just the piano track and the quartet play into the song. Alexandra has no hesitation and worked with our DJ with no issues. Absolutely stunning and pure magic. We highly recommend Alexandra & Ensembles. I only wish I was able to hear them more while they were there. All our guests commented how beautifully they played. A wonderful experience. -

I hired Alexandra & Ensembles (cello and piano duo) for my rooftop ceremony wedding in Manhattan and I couldn't be happier! It was a magical experience walking down the aisle while having them play my favorite songs. From the beginning, Alexandra is very responsive and provides you with a large selection of songs from their website. Weeks before the wedding, I had requested them to play two songs that were not in their library. I was amazed at how well they learned the songs and played it beautifully at my wedding. Alexandra & Ensembles were absolutely amazing at our wedding!! We hired them after hearing them at a friends wedding. There was no travel fee and they came all the way out to Montauk for our ceremony and cocktail hour. My only regret at the wedding is not having video to capture how amazing our string quartet was! They even got a loud cheer from my guests at my cocktail hour. They played everything I asked at the ceremony and chose wonderful songs for the cocktail hour. Truly amazing and highly recommend them! -

We recently hired Alexandra and the WeddinGigs team for a violin and cello duet for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. I could try and describe them using big eloquent words but really what comes to mind is BLOWN AWAY! They were absolutely fantastic! Right from the beginning Alexandra was very professional with responding to us and answering any questions we had. More amazingly is the repertoire of songs they can play, anything from classical to pop to top 40 hits. If you give them a little heads up they can learn pretty much any piece of music you request. Who knew how many songs you could play with a violin and cello and make them sound incredible.
The team was on time, always had a smile on their face and were extremely accommodating and flexible with musical requests. Judging by the feedback we got from our guests everyone felt the same way about the music and about the overall level of professionalism. We could not have been any happier with Alexandra and the entire team at WeddinGigs. In fact, we were so impressed that we are hiring them again for a party we are throwing. I suppose that is probably the highest review a vendor can get.

Having played cello in middle school and high school, and loving instrumental music all around, I was so excited to come across a string quartet led by a cellist. Alexandra was really responsive in her emails, just so easy to work with. I asked if she and her other players could learn "Somebody to Love" by Queen for our processional, and it was no problem at all! Though Alexandra wasn't there on the day of my wedding, the players she sent were phenomenal. I don't know if I cried while walking down the aisle because of emotions or because of how beautiful and perfect "Somebody to Love" sounded. It was just a dream come true. And then we walked out to "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" by Stevie Wonder, and it was just so fun and relaxing at the same time during cocktail hour. Everyone loved the quartet and the music they played. The cost is also really competitive, so well worth it in my opinion. Having live music at a wedding is a must for those who deeply love and appreciate music, and Alexandra and her ensemble really fulfilled our wishes. -

I am so glad that I found Alexandra and her team! My husband and I were back and forth on if we should hire live music or just play a recording for our ceremony. I was lucky enough to have found Alexandra on wedding wire. My sister is obsessed with the cello and she convinced me to hire one early on in wedding planning, and I absolutely do not regret it! Alexandra was so patient with me, especially with my indecisiveness about song selections (we worked it out perfectly!) Alexandra and our piano player were perfect together! I wish I stayed around during cocktail hour to hear what other songs they played, but our guests informed me and my husband that they were absolutely amazing. We hired a cello/violin duo for our church wedding last month and are SO happy we did. The Catholic church only allows prelude music, processional and recessional to be played by outside musicians but I wish we could have had more! Alexandra made the process incredibly easy - she was very responsive, answered all of our questions, and had no problem playing the music we asked for. One of our songs was pretty standard I think but I'm fairly certain they had to learn the other one for my processional and it was better than I could have ever hoped for. The duo also had to sit up in the 'balcony' area with the church organist so I'm not even sure they could see us but they never missed a cue! Everything was seamless. Alexandra always seemed happy to speak with us over email and couldn't have been nicer on the day of the wedding. This was one of the few vendors we feel was well worth the (very reasonable) cost. We are thrilled with our choice and would highly recommend Alexandra! -

My husband and I got married last month and we hired Alexandra and Cello NYC to do our ceremony music. We knew live music could be very hit or miss at weddings, so we wanted to be very careful in our selection. I'm happy to say we definitely made the right choice! Alexandra and her accompanying pianist were on time, dressed professionally, and very obviously prepared. They played beautifully, and we received multiple compliments on their music, from our peers and our parents' friends alike! Everybody loved the music!

Alexandra and her string quartet provided music for our ceremony and cocktail hour for our October wedding and they were nothing short of absolutely fantastic.
Alexandra was my quickest responding vendor. Whenever I emailed her, I would often get a response within hours and it was always cheerful and helpful.
We wanted our wedding party to walk down the aisle to a song that wasn't in Alexandra's repertoire. At first she said she'd contact her arranger and let me know how much it would cost. A few days later she came back and said "I found an arrangement online - so no need to worry, it's free of charge!"
The actual music on the day of our wedding was beautiful and it was exactly what we wanted. Our guests especially loved the Game of Thrones theme.
If you're looking for a string quartet - this is a no-brainer. Alexandra is affordable, a pleasure to coordinate with, and truly talented and professional. -

After searching for an amazing cellist, I finally found Alexandra! I went to Berklee School of Music, so having someone who was modern yet unique in her classical approach, was very important to me. I honestly could not stop listening to the demos on her music page because they were so beautiful so I knew that I had to have her and either a guitar or piano accompaniment for our wedding. She was so accommodating as well because we only needed her for while the guests were arriving and the ceremony and she really worked with us because I told her that I had to have her!! We would definitely recommend her for any wedding, party, etc!!! -

We worked with Alexandra this past October to create our pre-ceremony and ceremony music for our wedding (cello and violin). She was so friendly, organized, professional, and easy to work with. Rates were very reasonable and the music was just beautiful. Many guests commented afterward on how lovely the music had been, and were wondering where I located such gems! Look no further - with so many moving parts to worry about during the big day, it was such a relief to have Alexandra in charge of creating the atmosphere for the ceremony. An amazing and talented musician! -

My wedding was on June 5th, and they were amazing. Originally, I was going to just have a DJ play for the ceremony, but my mom said that I NEED an ensemble. After walking down the aisle to Alexandra Cellist and Ensembles, I knew my mom was correct. I was blown away with how beautiful they sounded. I was a bit nervous about not rehearsing with them, but they are so professional and everything just fell into place. I will also like to thank them for playing Amazing Grace as a memorial for my father. It was a pleasure to work with you, and I suggest that if anyone if looking for an affordable, professional and very talented ensemble, look no further. Thank you guys! -

Alexandra NYC Cellist & Ensembles were wonderful! Great and easy to communicate with! They played The Rains of Castamere and GoT theme song for our ceremony (as well as many others). Our guests complimented their playing and said that it was a classy touch to our wedding as well as also fun figuring out which songs they were playing! A great mix of classical with new songs! As my father and I are both former violinists, we were both particular about the quality of the string quartet we were going to hire for my wedding. Based on Alexandra's repertoire online, we decided that she'd be a good fit. Alexandra was very easy to work with -- all communications prior to the wedding were done through prompt and clear emails. I didn't get a chance to talk to her during the wedding, but she and her colleagues were definitely good-humored enough to let my father conduct the string quartet for fun.
The quartet did a fantastic job playing music for our ceremony and our cocktail hour. They played both classical pieces and string arrangements of popular music. On an amusing note, they played the Game of Thrones theme as the wedding party entrance song and also agreed to play the Rains of Castamere during cocktail hour (under our request, of course). Thank you Alexandra and company for a fantastic performance! -

What I love most about Alexandra's services is her website -- she has lots of clips of herself and her ensembles playing, so it's easy to get a sense of their talents just by browsing. She also is incredibly responsive and professional via email, such that I felt totally comfortable booking her "sight unseen". She and the violinist arrived early on the day of, worked amazingly well with our venue coordinator, and played beautifully. All of our guests were impressed. I highly recommend! -

Alexandra played the music for our ceremony and was very responsive and professional. We gave her several songs not on her usual repertoire and she played them beautifully. I think her playing made quite the impression on my friend's children who were imitating her the whole week after the wedding! Would definitely recommend hiring Alexandra if you're looking for a musician who needs very little guidance and is very responsive. -

We are so happy that we chose Alexandra and Ensemble for our wedding on 7/22/16. From the very beginning she and her staff were so professional, accommodating, and responsive. I lucked out and found her online when searching for a cellist and knew immediately from the samples on the site she was a truly talented professional. My husband had a list of contemporary and rock songs he thought would be cool to hear on a cello, even some that were not on the sample list, and she was very accommodating. She arrived with ample time to familiarize herself with the venue and get her and her pianist situated as needed (we had an outdoor courtyard ceremony followed by an indoor cocktail hour). Everyone is still talking about how gifted she is! I even found out later that a close friend had used her in his wedding as well and loved her. You cannot go wrong choosing Alexandra and Ensemble. Hands down the highlight of our event. Thank you, Alexandra!! -

Alexandra NYC Cellist and Ensembles did an amazing job at my wedding this summer! They arrived on time and were thoroughly prepared. They were also very flexible in being able to move their position when it started to rain a little (this was an outdoor wedding). They were talented and everything we could have asked for. Many guests at my wedding actually asked about where I found them because they were so impressed with their music. Again, could not have asked for anything more! -

We just celebrated our anniversary party in the Hampton's and we had the privilege to experience Alexandra's and Boris's talent playing the cello and violin. All or friends ... -an eclectic, cultured and sophisticated group of talented people themselves- all loved the performance. The repertoire played was varied, all excellent choices and their ability to perform with feeling towards the moment, the place and the guests was fantastic ... we are already planning the next event so we can share these moments with them again ... and again! -

We hired a trio (cello, violin, keyboard) through Alexandra NYC Cellist and Ensembles- and they were fantastic. They came early, dressed up professionally, and played beautifully. Alexandra is very responsive via email and the process of booking was simple and easy. It was a breeze working with them. We gave them a hard recessional song ("you make my dreams come true" - hall & oates) but they absolutely nailed it. My husband and I loved their performance and would highly recommend Alexandra & co.! -

I wanted some strings for my ceremony. A friend had suggested the person she used but they were incredibly expensive given they insisted on two hours and i really only needed them for an hour max. I found this company through wedding wire. They were super quick to respond and to answer all my questions. Prices are very reasonable. I had a cello and a guitar for the ceremony. Everything went just as planned. While i can barely remember the music, I was told it was very nice :) -

Alexandra and her colleague played at our recent wedding the Montauk Club in Brooklyn. From the start, Alexandra was great to work with. She immediately got back to us when we requested information. We selected a cello and violin duo for our ceremony. Alexandra's website was great and really help guide us in picking out our ceremony music.

Alexandra and the pianist who worked with her at our wedding were phenomenal and just flawless. In addition to being very easy to work with and book (via email), her rates were reasonable and they were a big hit at our wedding. We had guests tell us all night how terrific they sounded during the ceremony and cocktail hour and one guest even got their card and is recommending them for a friend's wedding! I wish I had been a guest at our wedding so I had the chance to listen to more of their music. We had our wedding at Battery Gardens and they arrived early and setup quickly - I didn't have to worry about a thing. I highly recommend Alexandra and her team and can't wait for another opportunity to work with them again! -
