Oh Alex, she is simply the best! We could not have asked for a more thoughtful, intentional, supportive & fun photographer to capture our engagement session, my bridal portraits, our rehearsal dinner and wedding day. From my first call with Alex, I knew we would be fast friends! Her positive energy is so contagious and she made us feel so at ease and comfortable in front of the camera. On wedding day especially, she captured everything we hoped to document in addition to all of the candids throughout the day that we are so happy to preserve. I look forward to working with Alex again in the future - maybe one day for family portraits! -

Captured the day perfectly
Thank you so much Alex, you were such a blessing for our wedding day. We are so beyond thrilled to have found you, from the very first meeting at our engagement shoot we had an instant connection. You have been nothing but fabulous, both your energy and your work!! We’ve gotten so many compliments on the photos and I cannot stop looking at them!! I’ve literally put them on everything, Christmas cards, thank you cards, the stamps to mail them, our shelves, walls and our fridge, in every photo album and I will continue to for many years!! You put together an incredible album for us. We wanted a timeless feel to our wedding day and you captured that fully in your work - we really couldn’t be happier! You are hands down one of the best souls I’ve met and I hope to use your services in the future for anniversary shoots!! You’re so kind and fun to work with I cannot wait to see you in the future!! And to anyone reading this and thinking about booking Alex, you’ll be making one of the best decisions if you book her for any of your photography needs!! She’s really the best and beyond talented with her photography skills!!

If you're getting married in Charleston, Alex Thornton is truly to photographer to choose. From our first email interactions, I knew that Alex would be the perfect person to capture our vow renewal. Her warmth, enthusiasm, and humor translated even over email. After a year and a half of planning, we had our vow renewal and we were lucky enough for Alex to capture our big day. She was charming, knowledgeable, helpful, and overall just a wonderful addition to our event. Her work online is simply divine, and I can't wait to see our photos! From her personality alone, I wanted to leave a review for her as quickly as I could because she certainly deserves 5-stars. -

When I first reached out to Alex to see if she was available on my wedding date, she insisted we meet at Starbucks to get to know each other first! I loved that she offered to do this and I felt like we were instant friends! She did a beautiful job with our engagement pictures downtown Charleston - she knows all the cute spots! Then she photographed our wedding with her second shooter Tessie and WOW. Our day was captured in the best way possible. I teared up when we got our sneak peak, then again when we got our full gallery. They captured not only wonderful portraits of us, but all the moments in between - times when I forgot the cameras were there. I had people come up to me who weren't able to make it and tell me they felt like they were there from just seeing all the pictures. They did the perfect mix of posed and "in the moment" shots. They were also so much fun to work with and made everyone feel comfortable! I can't say enough good things about her! -

Macy Sent on 08/24/2018Alex was so amazing to work with! During our visit to Charleston, I really wanted some portraits of us around the city. Alex responded to my email right away. She suggested a beautiful part in the city to meet so we could walk around and take pictures. During our session she was the absolute sweetest, posed us, complimented us, and made us feel VERY comfortable being in front of the camera. She kept me up to date about when the photos would be ready. We got them today and they are GORGEOUS! She gave us so many to pick from. I can't wait to hang them up around our home. I am very happy we decided to book with Alex! -

You can feel the excitement, care and pride that she takes in her work from her voice alone. When you meet her, she just immediately puts you at ease and she does wonderful things with both digital and film photography. She did such an impeccable job capturing our special day at The Inn at Middleton Place in Charleston, SC. We will forever be grateful for her and her talents! Highly recommend her!!

I had a fortuitous meeting with her at a bridal show in Nashville and it was undeniable how incredible she is. Her work accurately reflects her beauty on the inside and out! When my now husband met her at our engagement session, he felt too, as if she had been a lifelong friend. She has a gift for capturing and bringing to life the most incredible photos of memories you'll cherish forever. She really knows how to bring out the best in her clients and in the environment she shoots in. She made our wedding day beyond a dream come true. I wouldn't have wanted to share it with anyone else or have trusted anyone to bring my vision to life as accurately as she did. And how enjoyable to spend it with someone I now and will always consider a dear friend!!! I continue and will forever sing her praises for my exceptionally perfect engagement and wedding photographer and photos!!!
