Pros: Alba is beautiful and intimate. You literally get married among vines and sloping hills. The grounds are beautifully maintained and unlike other vineyards, you get free reign of the entire vineyard. It's $2,000 + tax to rent the location for the day (great deal). Wines are very good as well - - big selection.
Cons: GPS does not locate the address, so paper directions are needed for guests to find the location. There happened to be flies in the tent. It was our experience, that an oversight in billing and communication with our caterer who handles the day of orders with the venue, led to an issue on the evening of the reception. We feel, and in our opinion, that the manner in which this transaction was handled on that day and in the ensuing ones, constitutes the rating we give for this service.
Some other things to consider. Yes, it's only $2,000 to rent the venue but you need to bring in everything: Tent, chairs, linens, bathrooms - - keep in mind that A/C bathrooms are well over $2,000 (and there are only 2 port-o-john companies in NJ). Tents are easily $5,000+. It adds up fast. And then Alba really only works two caterers in the area so your options are limited.
We write this review (as weddingwire asks, in detail,) just to caution brides and grooms to make sure all their bases are covered so they can minimize any mistakes. This was our experience, above, and though it might differ from others, we wanted you to be well informed and to take extra care in every step of planning with any wedding vendor.
