Phenomenal DJ and MC

Alan was extremely professional and helpful throughout our entire wedding and leading up to our special day. He ensured the music was exactly what we want played and when, providing us ideas and examples early on so we could have time to find our perfect songs. He was a crowd-pleaser with his introductions and mannerisms, being extremely friendly and open to ourselves and our guests. We could not have asked for a better DC and MC!

Man, where do i begin?! Alan was the absolute best!! I’ve never seen a wedding so packed on the dance floor all night long!! It was the best night of my entire life & he made it a dream come true with all of our favorite songs!!

Best wedding ever

Alan rocked this wedding!! If I could rate him as a 100, I would. He arrived in plenty of time, set up looked very professional, and looked like a million bucks! The ceremony music was perfect and then the reception was just on another level! From the introductions to announcing food, etc!!! His energy filled the space! Andddddd, then the dance floor!! I have never been to a wedding where the floor stayed full the entire night!! The music was great and he never missed a beat!! Family and friends are still talking about how much fun it was!! Highly recommend this DJ for any event!!! A night to never forget!!

My September 2023 wedding w/Alan Denver!

Alan Denver was amazing! My wedding planner actually recommended me to him, and had nothing but great things to say. Leading up to the event, Alan was so easy to communicate with. He brought the best energy to our day and definitely knows how to work a crowd! The music was absolutely perfect from the beginning to end. I can't tell you how many compliments we received about him. As music and entertainment was on the top of our list for our wedding, I cannot recommend Alan Denver enough! 10/10!

Absolutely best dj!

Alan is truly the best DJ out there!! He helped make our day such a blast for us and our friends and family. He played all the songs we wanted and had such a good flow for the night! He also was such a great MC for our night! 100% recommend! Can't say better things! We are so thankful that we had such a great DJ!

A DJ can really make or break your big day and Alan MADE OURS 🙌🏼 He took my vision and made it a reality from reception introductions to keeping everyone on the dance floor. Alan was amazing! He listened to all of our requests and different types of music styles and merged them all together to make our day absolutely perfect; even when we had a last minute song change right before the ceremony!! I would highly highly recommend using Alan for your big day!

So much fun!

Alan was responsive to us and was intentional about setting up time before the wedding to discuss what we wanted! He also did a great job of picking out some songs based off of genres and other songs we gave him.

Adaptable and Aware

Adaptable and Aware are two qualities that Alan displayed that really made our wedding day so special and kept people engaged the entire night. In moments where he could tell there was a lull in dancing he knew the right songs to bring the energy back up to keep a fun atmosphere the entire time. He also was able to very quickly adapt to our needs of wanting to move our wedding back outside right after the rain, he was setting up in the rain to make the experience so much better for our guests outside.

TL;DR
His awareness of song selection kept energy high and his adaptability made our outdoor wedding a great time for all guests.

Best Wedding DJ Ever

DJ Al D is hands down the best. Everything from the setup, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, lighting, MC services and all that goes between went off perfect. His professionalism and knowledge was apparent through all stages of planning from song choices to lighting choices specific to our venue and then at the reception taking our long list of songs and picking the right ones to play throughout the night. The dance floor was never empty and everyone came away raving. You seriously can't go wrong picking Al.

The best dj!

There are truly not enough words to describe how awesome Alan is! He was quick to answer all my questions, enthusiastic about all our ideas, and so much fun to collaborate with for our wedding. He kept the energy of the party going all the way to the final song of the night, and a majority of our guests out in the dance floor! The mix of music he played appealed to every single person and was truly the perfect backdrop for the night! He nailed timing for all our speeches, our entrance, first dances, and had such a good time interacting with our guests.

He is truly the best in the business and I recommend his services for anyone looking to book a DJ! Wish we could relive that night over and over!

Talented, Professional, Loyal and Flexible

A bit of a long story here. Me and my beautiful new wife were supposed to get Married back in 2020, when COVID hit forcing us to postpone our wedding (the stuff of nightmares). Alan being the pro he is, gladly rescheduled us for the new date at no charge. Ok, pretty cool but it's a pandemic so you would have to be pretty cold to stick it to a bride and groom for cancelling under those circumstances. As we got closer to our new wedding date in July 2021, I (the bachelor) went out with the guys for the Bachelor party and let me tell you, we had a blast... but low and behold, guess who came down with COVID 4 days before the Wedding (you cant make this stuff up). Naturally we were absolutely devastated as we had to postpone again. Scrambling to find new dates, my wife coordinating with all the vendors while she watched her masterpiece of a wedding that she planned, fall apart yet again. Alan, being the magnanimous DJ that he is, graciously rescheduled us for the new date and didnt charge us a dime for having to cancel so close to our scheduled date even though he easily could have.
Fast forward a few months to November 13th and FINALLY we are going to get Married. Alan, was on time, prepared, dressed to the nines and ready to rock the party! He timed the Ceremony music perfectly and it was perfectly executed. Once we moved to the reception it was all a blur but I know that everyone was dancing and partying their @#$'s off... He absolutely crushed it. We had a list of songs that we wanted played which he gladly did while filling the night with a mixture of slow jams and dance classics that had everyone blowing the top off the place. I couldn't recommend a better man to entrust your wedding Ceremony and Reception to. If you want quiet and calm music, or heavy metal and hard rap, he has you covered. If you want any genre from 50s-2000s and beyond, he's got you covered. He will work with you to make sure you special day is as special as you dreamed it would be. Thanks again for everything Alan, we truly appreciate all you did for us.

Gets everyone dancing!

DJ Al D was Amazing!!! Everyone had a blast! Great music selection, knew exactly what we were looking for in regards to taste! Everyone was dancing the whole time. Had a great mix of fast and slow! Worked very well with the party planners. All around wonderful experience and would highly recommend!!

Best night of my life

Alan is an amazing DJ. He kept the crowd on the dance floor all night. He is so fun, down to earth, and easy to work with. Very professional and quick to respond. Due to COVID we had to postpone our original date and he was very flexible with switching to our new date. I highly recommend him to anyone I know getting married because he is just that good!!! When I first got engaged, he was the first vendor I reached out to because I knew he needed to be our DJ.

Couldn’t have asked for more!

Alan was highly recommended by many in the Lynchburg area, and he did not disappoint! Even when we threw in some last minute changes to our songs, Alan was flexible, adaptable and so easy to work with! He kept the crowd dancing all night long was exactly the DJ we were hoping for! Awesome DJ!

Alan is the best! We loved every minute of working with him for our wedding this past June. Not only did he provide DJ services and lights for the receptions, he also helped us with a microphone for our officiant and helped our band with sound during our ceremony and cocktail hour. Awesome dj

Alan is the absolute best. We got to meet him over a year before our wedding to discuss what type of vibe we would want for our special day (we all know how important the music is for setting the tone of your entire ceremony and reception!). He was so understanding of exactly what we wanted and was so knowledgeable of the tunes we gave as examples (we had tons of international folk at our wedding, so we needed to make sure our Caribbean folk were taken care of with our soca!). Alan was so friendly, professional, hype, fun and passionate throughout this entire process with us. You always hear about the fluke moments with music/sound mess ups at a wedding....that definitely was not our wedding. Alan paid attention to all the notes I gave him and made sure to be organized and on time. There were NO mistakes throughout our ENTIRE ceremony and reception. It’s not that you’re sitting there fretting because you’re too caught up in your moment, but it was nice to know as an afterthought that “hey! We literally had the most perfect day!” Alan was a huge part of making that happen and we couldn’t be more grateful. I legit would go to anything he hosts because of how passionate and customer-service oriented he is. Thank you so much Alan. You made our day and every one of our guests and bridal party members kept raving about how awesome you are and we couldn’t agree more. We are so thankful to have had you as our DJ!

Alan is FANTASTIC! My fiance and I gave him our music preferences and genres that we liked and he took it from there! Al-D was amazing to work with! He is very flexible, extremely personable, and really knows his stuff regarding music, up-lighting, reception timelines, etc. We got married with hurricane Matthew as an unexpected guest, but Al-D adapted to all changes that needed to be made and kept the vibe fun all night long. I am still getting compliments from friends and family about how awesome the music was! He is able to feel-out the flow of the party, keeping as many people dancing as possible. He offers a lot of the traditional aspects of receptions, including bouquet and garter toss, but also has some other modern ideas the bride and groom can choose from. I will most definitely be recommending him to anyone in need of a DJ! DJ Al-D is the best and we cannot thank him enough.

Alan was excellent. We did not have a chance to meet with him in person before the wedding day, but the planning was seamless and the entertainment ended up being awesome! We got so many compliments on the songs played. While we gave Alan a "do not play list" we let him run with the rest trusting his expertise - it was great to know I didn't have to worry about the music! Would definitely recommend Alan to anybody. Very professional and super fun.

Summary: Alan is an incredible DJ. He is professional, organized, and talented. He absolutely knows what he is doing and how to work a room! I HIGHLY recommend Alan as a DJ for any event.

Details: Alan was everything we expected and MORE! He is professional and incredibly talented. My father and I did a surprise dance, in which our slow dance music skipped and went awkwardly silent, before we busted a move to an up-beat dance song. In order to make this surprise possible, Alan had to work some DJ magic to create the music. Alan's finished product was amazing! We couldn't have pulled it off with out him. Alan is great at learning what his clients want and producing a fantastic atmosphere. My husband and I did not have to opportunity to meet with Alan before our actual wedding day, as we lived in San Diego, but our wedding was in Virginia. All of our communications were over phone and email. I was able to send Alan a few songs we liked and didn't like for certain parts of the event. With that knowledge, Alan was able to use his creativity and DJ skills to create exactly the atmosphere I had in my head! Additionally, Alan kept our guests engaged and dancing, without any weird games or loud, cheesy jokes. As a bonus, Alan helped to make our night move smoothly, as he assisted in creating our timeline. I HIGHLY recommend using Alan as your event DJ. I assure you he will not disappoint!

You can't go wrong! Al reads the room, pays attention to the details, and finds ways to make everyone happy. He was very professional and didn't need much direction to do his job, and do it well! He made our wedding spectacular and was flexible when changes came up after our initial contract. We highly recommend Alan if you are looking for guests and hosts to have a great time at your wedding or event!

Book him! Alan Dever is great, he was fun and energetic. I had asked my guests to send me their 2 favorite songs to dance to and then sent list to Alan. He made sure everyone heard their favorite song. My guests felt very special and had a lot of fun. Great energy.

Alan was an absolute PRO. He handled the sound for our wedding ceremony and MC'd our reception perfectly. We only gave him a few specific music requests, but he filled in the gaps with music that fit the situation exactly and flowed seamlessly with the specific requests. We planned our wedding from out of state and didn't get to meet him in person beforehand, but he understood us and what we wanted with very minimal input from us.

In addition to getting the music right, he MC'd the event perfectly. He made sure all the guests knew what was going on so no one missed anything. He managed sending tables to the buffet at an appropriate time some guests weren't all standing in line at the same time. We just gave him the schedule and the music and he made it happen.

Alan Dever was beyond professional and put me to ease concerning the music for our ceremony on our wedding day. It went as smooth as I imagined it. Everything was very tasteful and my guests had a BLAST dancing the rest of the night away at the reception!!! I would recommend him to anyone.

BEST. DJ. EVER!!!! Alan DJ'ed my wedding in Blacksburg and the party was rocking from cocktail hour until last call! We had 160 guests from 11 years old to 87 years old and every single person was on the dance floor the entire night. I have never seen anything like it. He is a smart DJ who always seems to know just the right song and he has an amazing personality. He is extremely professional and went above and beyond to work with my ceremony musicians, wedding planner, officiant, and a vocalist to make sure he had all the right equipment they day of and arrived in plenty of time to ensure everyone had exactly what they needed. I can't wait to go to another event DJ'ed by Alan!

Alan was incredible!!! Our reception had SUCH an amazing atmosphere due to his ability to reach all of our guests taste in music! The entire place was loving his selection, as did my wife and me! I've been to weddings where the DJ is hit or miss and we're so grateful we picked Alan as are DJ, because he was a HUGE hit! Alan worked so well alongside our wedding coordinator to make sure our night was so smooth and such a blast! I would beyond recommend him if you're looking for a great DJ!

Alan was a great DJ! He was SO easy to work with and had our guests dancing the night away. There were even a few requests from our guests that were a little inappropriate and he made sure to find me and ask me if he should play it or not. I HIGHLY recommend Alan to everyone. Alan was MAGNIFICENT! He was great at reading the crowd and playing appropriate songs to keep people dancing and having a great time! Our wedding DJ Alan Dever is amazing!

As a bride who was planning her Virginia wedding from across the country in San Diego, online reviews were what I heavily relied on when selecting vendors. The music and DJ were important elements of the wedding for us and I was very impressed with the wonderful reviews Alan had on Wedding Wire. We were thrilled to hear he was still available on the holiday weekend and wanted to book him right away!

From the initial contract discussions months in advance all the way up to the reception itself, Alan was a pleasure to work with. He provided music for us during the outdoor ceremony and music + dance floor lighting during the reception. It all turned out great. What I was highly impressed with was Alan's ability to go with the flow. While I hoped to have a lot more direction for the ceremony, I simply ran out of time. I gave him general direction/feedback on what we would like to see happen and what types of music we'd like to have played and he ran with it. He was also a vendor I could rely on for communication in the months leading up to the event via email, too.

Friendly, professional, and talented, I would highly recommend Alan as your event DJ in the Roanoke, VA area!

Could not have asked for a better DJ for our event! Not only did Alan play all of the songs we wanted, and more, but he completely read our crowd and really brought the party to life. My husband and I did not have a single worry about things flowing and all of our guests commented on just how seamless the whole evening was. The music was absolutely fantastic - literally everyone was out of their seats dancing!

Alan was a wonderful DJ! He was very helpful, giving unbiased opinions on what he thought would work at our venue, and he was always quick to get back to my husband or I. We had a last minute change in our ceremony song (day of!) and he took it in stride and was happy to fix things. At the reception, we finally got the chance to talk to him in person and it was like we were old friends! All of our guests are still talking about the "Awesome DJ" and we couldn't have been happier about our decision!

Alan was so amazing to work with leading up to our wedding. He was so flexible with meetings and have us extra information that we needed. In a sense, he was actually our event planner for the night and he truly helped make everything go smoothly. Our guests commented too that Alan was professional and helped keep the night going at the perfect pace. Another plus was his equipment and set-up... Very clean looking, organized, and his lighting made our room look amazing! Alan was so generous to give us a gift on our wedding . He is a great person and great DJ. I'm glad we had him at our wedding.

We have been to so many weddings with cheesy djs. For us it ruins the "party" side of things. I had known of Alan from years ago and as soon as we got engaged I thought he would be perfect for our style. We were out to please not only our own music interests at our wedding but also our friends and family, many from England! Alan was very professional but also wasn't afraid to let loose and enjoy the night! He felt like one of our wedding guests who just happened to be the dj :)

Alan was so helpful with the song selection lists he provided as well. That was the perfect starter for us to choose our do not play and must play lists. He was always super easy to reach when we needed him and gave his advice when we asked for help. He was an absolute breeze to work with. We used his lighting package as well for our reception and it truly set the decor off!

You need to get Alan as your dj! Guarantee you everyone will be partying, laughing and dancing!!!

Alan Dever Entertainment really helped to make our event special. Alan worked closely with us leading up to the wedding, as well as with our wedding planner to help get all of the details just how we wanted them. He helped us put together a timeline of events that kept the evening going smoothly while still giving us and our guests a chance to relax and enjoy ourselves. Every single thing was done the way we asked and we did not have to worry about the music, entertainment, or emcee services at all throughout the entire night. If you want your wedding reception to go down in history as being fun, it will happen if you use Alan. From the planning to the end, he is professional, fun, creative and gets the guests involved. My wife and I couldn't have been happier with Alan's service. We were relatively shooting in the dark when it came to picking a DJ online, as we were getting married at a remote location where we didn't know anybody from the area. Honestly, hiring him was the one thing we were 100 percent satisfied with when all was said and done. He not only emceed our reception like an absolute pro, he also queued up/played the music for our ceremony -- timing everything perfectly to where the flow was as fine as a needle's point. He played the style we'd asked for during our initial talks, banned the garbage we didn't want to hear (even when guests requested), and constantly kept the dance floor packed. After talking with guests a few days later, they always say the standard, "the food was good, the drinks were great, the ceremony was beautiful" but their eyes and emotions really show some spark when they go on-and-on about how phenomenal the dancing was -- all thanks to Alan. I sincerely couldn't say enough good things about his service from professionalism to value, the guy makes others emcees look like tacky Elvis impersonators with a store-bought karaoke set. I say from the heart-of-hearts -- like us, you will be thanking yourself afterwards that you hired Alan.

We cannot recommend Alan highly enough! From our first meeting he was incredibly positive, fun, and easy to work with. We went in only kind of knowing what we wanted, but he led us along without ever being pushy. He totally listened to us and put together a reception that felt like us, and was so fun. He played every song that someone requested, and even danced along to some. We used his up-lights as well, and they were perfect. The wedding coordinator told me that Alan was super easy to work with, he got everything set-up and ready way ahead of time.

Alan is the best, I highly recommend him for any wedding!

Alan is the best DJ around! My entire wedding party had such a great time on the dance floor and so many people have told me it was an awesome party, with great music! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding and I definitely credit Alan for a big part of our special day. From the lighting, to the music, it was the perfect back drop for the evening. Alan has a special talent for knowing how to work the crowd, which makes a huge difference in the flow of your evening. I have been to 4 different wedding that Alan has worked (including my own). Each wedding, the music was different and unique based on what the bride and groom had imagined for their wedding. I had a vision for my wedding day and music was very important to me. I want everyone to dance for a very long time and I knew that lightning would help to set a mood for that. I met with Alan twice for 2 hours each time. During these meetings, we talked about what I wanted, dislikes, likes, etc. He got to know me, my husband and mom so he knew what kind of recption we had in mind. He always seemed so excited about our big day and the entire reception we could tell her was having fun because he loves what he does and is very skilled as a DJ. My wedding went off without a hitch and I attribute a lot of that to Alan. He knows the in and outs of wedding reception and can work a crowd. He was great when it came to wedding party introductions, garter toss and requests. My family friends and I have never danced so much in our lives. I crowd surfed at my own wedding...AMAZING! Alan even stayed 1 1/2 hours later than planned becasue everyone was having such a good time and he wanted the party to go on. I am still receiving compliments from my guests, raving about Alan.

Alan was born to DJ! He's such a natural and makes everyone feel so eat ease! From the moment we first saw his talents at a previous wedding, we knew that we had to have him at our very own wedding! DJ Alan was always there to answer questions, give advice and to make us feel comfortable with everything!

The DJ you select for your wedding is so important. He pretty much sets the tone for the whole evening during the reception. All night long DJ Alan was playing our song list, mixing it up, being an MC and introducing the wedding party to perfection.

He also lit up our entire dance floor and reception area with gorgeous uplighting. It set the mood for the dancing, cake cutting and everything. Oh yeah, he also put together this incredibly gorgeous gobo with our names on it to shine on the dance floor. How awesome is that!!! He really went above and beyond for us!

We were honored to have DJ Alan perform at our wedding back in October! We want to plan another party just so that we can hire him again!

Alan came highly recommended by Aimee Hall (event planner for our venue). He is extremely professional and dedicated. He catered to my every crazy request/whim. We loved having DJ Alan at our wedding! He DJ'ed both of my sister's weddings and it was an easy decision for us to book him. Absolutely amazing dj!

Alan was such a fun addition to our perfect day! HIs energy and humor was exactly what we wanted! We were able to talk multiple times about the vibe we were going for, making sure that there was no room for error (read: unauthorized speeches) and he perfectly executed everything! He did the whole shebang (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception) and had extremely reasonable prices even considering having to make a 300 mile roundtrip! Alan felt like part of the family, and we couldn't be more happy with our choice!

Alan was so good at working the crowd, working with other vendors, and making EVERYONE feel comfortable. His is an energetic and fun aura that is genuinely priceless. I've tried to think of other events I could have just so I could hire him as the DJ! Alan gave plenty of examples of traditional weddings and was totally open to a non-traditional time line. He also played every single song that I requested him play, so it was obvious to me, that he wanted it to be my day to show off my musical taste! Other DJ's, I've noticed, want to show off what their taste is, not necessarily what the Bride/Groom tastes are. He's the best in the biz!!
