Great Wedding Transportation

We hired absolutely Charleston for our wedding day. We had a trolley for the wedding party. They were very professional, on time, and flexible with us. I did not have to worry on the day of the wedding because of how professional and timely they were. The trolley was so clean & absolutely beautiful! Thank you!

Wedding Trolley!

We used Absolutely Charleston for our wedding transportation and could not be happier! We used the trolley and it was just what I envisioned. Our driver was very kind and dealt with our wedding party (20+ and very loud!). Definitely use Absolutely Charleston for your wedding, you will love it!

We hired a shuttle bus from Absolutely Charleston to help with our backyard wedding this past October. We utilized the bus in the morning for bridal party photographs downtown and then in the afternoon they shuttled all of our wedding guests back and forth from a parking lot at the edge of our neighborhood. Everyone commented how comfortable the shuttle bus was and how much they appreciated the service. During the planning process the coordinators were very helpful in letting us know which locations downtown were off limits and where they could pick up and drop off. This helped us create a well-laid out plan for the day and kept everything on schedule. Overall we were very happy with the service Absolutely Charleston provided!

I was very pleased with Karen and everyone at Absolutely Charleston. Karen was very responsive and helpful throughout the booking process. Our driver Becky was prompt and very accommodating. I would highly recommend them and the white trolley bus!

Using a trolley to transport our wedding party was so fun! The trolley had air conditioning which was very helpful in the August heat. Our driver was so nice and accommodating. We were running about 30 minutes late for pictures and he communicated with my photographer and made sure to find us at the right spot and right time. We drove around Charleston taking pictures and then got dropped off at St. Luke's Chapel. Our driver then went back to our hotel and helped extra guests get to the wedding then returned them after the wedding while took pictures. That was unplanned but he just went with the flow and got everyone where they needed to be on time.

My husband and I rented an old fashioned trolley for our wedding day to assist in transporting the bridal party to and from the ceremony and reception venues. Our driver, Gary, was extremely friendly and professional. It was a beautiful and fun addition to the day's festivities, and the planning process with Absolutely Charleston was very easy!

Not only I'd they provide transportation for the wedding party, but for most of the guests as well. It provided me with such peace of mind knowing everyone was taken care of and the guests really enjoyed themselves.

We hired Absolutely Charleston to transport the brides wedding party and about 70 out-of-town guests to and from Mount Pleasant from a downtown hotel August 9th, 2014. We worked with Karen to create a very exacting schedule for the wedding day. BUT, the brides side wedding party was 45 minutes late getting to the first bus due to storm power outages in the hotel and pictures taking too long. However, both the drivers remained quite flexible and VERY helpful as they navigated the the roundtrips during an EXTREME WEATHER event (between 3-4pm) resulting in high winds, downtown flooding, and a transformer exploding right next to one of the buses!!! Drivers Carla and Dan were AMAZING!!! They made up the lost time and the wedding only started about 25 minutes late. BUT the guests arrived, happy, relieved, safe and dry! When the wedding cermeony was over, the bus drivers then coordinated 3 rounds to return the guests, family then the wedding party in approprate time frames after photos were taken. Numerous guests were VERY PLEASED and happy that we had arranged for this service given the weather conditions. Many would have had great difficulty navigating the flooded streets, but to no avail riding safely in the buses! When I originally thought of the idea to transport our guests for cool and comfort due to an August wedding, I had NO IDEA how blessed they would all feel being sheltered during this Derachio type storm! Three cheers to Absolutely Charleston for a job WELL DONE! I highly recommend them for your transportation needs!

Needed transportation for a large wedding party and some family for our Charleston wedding. Great company to work with. Our driver was super sweet and really took care of us. Wouldn't hesitate recommending AC for special events and weddings.

If you're looking for great reliable transportation - use Absolutely Charleston. The booking representative - Karen Dhooge Schindler was great to work with. I knew who my driver was a week in advance and had the driver's contact information as well. The driver was on time and great to work with. I had the white trolley for my wedding party and it was just perfect!

Mr Gary was awesome! The trolley arrived on time, and the bride loved the Old Charleston feel that the trolley portrays! The team was professional, courteous and on time! They made the day complete, and we couldn't have asked for better service and hospitality. We would highly recommend Absolutely Charleston for all of your transportation needs!

Absolutely Charleston provided a 30-person trolley to take guests from downtown Charleston hotels to my daughter's wedding at Magnolia Plantation. Because the plantation is a long ways out of the downtown area along a narrow, poorly lit (but beautiful) road, we were concerned about guests driving themselves after an evening of partying. The trolley was a perfect answer. Our contact, Karen, was very professional, even texting me the day before the wedding to confirm the schedule in case there were last-minute changes. The trolley driver was very accommodating, and guests were happy to have transportation provided. I highly recommend Absolutely Charleston.

The Trolley we used to get our guests to and from the wedding venue was beautiful and I do believe we had the BEST driver. When we were re-capping our wedding weekend, he came up several times because we had such a pleasant experience. Later we wished we'd tipped him more (our tip envelopes got mixed up and hubby just gave him the cash he had in his wallet which was nowhere near enough to show our appreciation). I would definitely recommend Absolutely Charleston for your wedding transportation.

I can't say enough good things about Absolutely Charleston. We rented the 32 passenger trolley so that our wedding party, their spouses/dates, and some fam could fit without any issues. They were perfectly punctual,super nice, & patient. After our wedding they made several drop offs, were super helpful, and so sweet. Everybody was singing in the trolley (not too well:) and they just kept smiling. I had to write a letter after our wedding thanking them! They were wonderful!

Excellent price. Easy to work with in making changes. Drivers were very polite and friendly.We couuldn't have asked for better transportation for our wedding party and guests. It was a very rainy day and he actually even followed us around with an umbrella during pictures so we wouldn't get wet and when we were covered up, he followed the photographer around with the umbrella so she wouldn't get wet. His customer service was unbelievable. From start to finish, this company was great to deal with and the cost was very reasonable!

I can't say enough good things about Absolutely Charleston! We reserved Trolley #8, which is a classic white trolley, for our transportation to and from the ceremony, downtown for pictures, and back to the reception.

2 days before the wedding, we got a phone call saying our trolley was in the shop and will not be ready for the day, and offered us a bigger/nicer trolley at no additional cost to make up for the breakdown. I was impressed from the start on how they strived for perfect customer service. The driver was patient while we were driving around downtown Charleston during rush hour, always with a smile and trying to keep us cool in 88 degree weather.

When we were finished and dropped off at the reception, they handed me a gift, which was a silver spoon engraved with the Charleston Pineapple (sign of friendship) and our initial on the handle!

I was very touched at how much they appreciated our business. Especially in the #1 wedding destination in the U.S., where quite a few of our vendors treated us as dispensible clients, they made us feel appreciated.

We loved our trolley. They were very responsive to any request we had. They were early and willing to drive where we needed them to go. Trolley was clean. We used them for our wedding 12/12/2009 and transported our wedding party to the church and reception. They are very expensive but have a very unique vehicle to rent. There are much cheaper options for transportation but nothing as unique as he white trolley they offer. Our driver was very nice and gave us a beautiful gift. I would definitely recommend them for a unique experience. Our wedding day was perfect. Thanks so much!!

Absolutely Charleston was so easy--and so good to work with. Most of our correspondence was over email, and they were very quick to respond usually by the next business day, which was nice. They are limited to pick-up and drop-off on city-approved spots and parking lots, but that is not their fault--it's because the City of Charleston is so particular. But, we told them where we wanted to be and they would find a way to make it happen! The 2 driver's they provided (particularly Becky) were amazing. They were so accommodating and even helped the bride get in and out of the trolley. We rented 2 trolleys for basically a full day: 1. to take the bridal party around Charleston during the day, 2. the other one to pick up the family and meet us at the venue for family pictures, 3. then both trolleys would run rotations to and from our hotel room blocks and the venue. They were highly recommended to us by almost everyone we worked with in other areas--including past brides/grooms, and they did not disappoint! It's Absolutely Charleston or nothing as far as we are concerned. P.S. Make sure and tip the driver's well. They are worth it!

We used the 35 passenger bus to transport the wedding party and out of town guests to and from the hotel and the chapel. They were very quick to respond to emails and helpful in planning times since we were not from the area. The driver was on time for each trip and very professional. I depended on them completely since I was with the bride and everything went perfect!

Absolutely Charleston was wonderful to work with! They were very professional and on time for everything. THey had an event coordinator to make sure the day ran smoothy and everyone (us and guests) arrived at both the church and reception venue on time (if not a little early!) The drivers were friendly and accommodating. We rented the white trolley which was so fun and cute and our guests used the shuttle vans which were comfortable and clean. I would recommend them to anyone in need of wedding day transportation.

These guys were great and easy to work with, and our driver was lovely! We had a beach wedding at a private house with little parking, so we hired Absolutely Charleston to take our guests back and forth between the house and a parking lot 1.5 miles away. The bus was clean and cool. They even took my groom and me down to the pier for some photos while our guests were having the cocktail hour.

Karen D. set every thing up and was pretty good to respond. Our driver, John, was early and got us to our destinations on time and the ride was pretty smooth for a trolley with no seat belts. My wedding party/ family loved the whole idea of using the trolley and it looks good in the wedding photos too- very unique idea. Perfect for transportation around downto for multi-location wedding photos so you don't have to worry about parking!

Absolutely Charleston transported some of our guests from Charleston to our wedding on Kiawah Island. The guests arrived to the wedding in plenty of time. The bus also took our guests back at the end of the night and was more flexible than anticipated when it took quite a while to get some of our guests rounded up and onto the bus. Overall, very satisfied with the service.

We hired the trolley to transport our guests to the ceremony venue and then back to the reception venue. During the planning process the company was very easy to work with. I did not actually ride on the trolley but my husband did. My husband said the driver wasn't very nice. I also got complaints from some of my guests that he drove rough (one had a baby and even considered renting a taxi back rather than taking the trolley).

Absolutely Charleston provided all of the transportation for our wedding. Two trolleys took guests and the bridal party from 2 hotels to the church, brought the guests back to the reception venue, and took the bridal party for pictures around downtown before bringing us to the reception. The fact that none of us, guests or bridal party, had to worry about transportation, made for a wonderful, stress-free day. The trolleys were lots of fun, and the service provided was seamless.

LOVE our trolley!!! Absolutely Charleston was so quick to reply to our inquiry... only two weeks before our wedding. This was an extra expense that we were able to pull off AND soooo thankful we did. Our wedding party had a blast riding on the trolley... taking pictures at Battery Park and then a tour of the Citadel by our driver!!! We loved the experience and so glad we had extra money to cover this expense... save your money too because it is well worth it.

We hired Absolutely Charleston because of the adorable wedding trolleys. They picked up the wedding party, delivered us to the church, and then to the reception. They were very nice, fairly priced, and a pleasure to work with. It turns out that there was a problem with the original trolley they sent, but they had another one on reserve and took care of it quickly and professionally! This made them a little late, but it wasn't anything that threw our timeline off. It was very hot on the trolley, but my wedding was in July in Charleston...where isn't it hot? However, if that is a concern for you, then the trolleys might not be for you. They are truly precious though. Would highly recommend!

We loved having the classic trolley take our guests to and from the venue location. It provided the perfect charm and convenience. Gerry was an awesome driver, even going back for a third unplanned trip without complaint! They were very responsive to some last minute changes I needed to make with the pickup plan and times. The only thing I would warn future brides about is the time quoted for each trip. Our venue and hotel were about 8 miles away and we were quoted 45 minutes one way. This made it difficult to plan multiple pickups without getting anyone there too early. In the end, it took about 30 minutes, which was what we intended for, and guests did arrive very early. Overall, I was still very impressed with the company....loved our driver! Would still have booked looking back, just wish I would have gotten a quoted time from the start instead of 2 weeks before so I would have been prepared.

Absolutely Charleston has great vehicles. Their Old City Bus is beautiful and very fun for transporting wedding parties and guests. Everyone loved it! Their drivers are timely, resourceful and offer great service. Their staff is great at helping with complicated transportation schedules. They are the best transportation company in Charleston!

We rented a wedding trolley for our transportation for the girls pre-ceremony, to the ceremony, off to photos, and then for joy rides for our guests afterward. We got a deal for a 4 hour timeframe. The trolley was MORE than on-time, with the air conditioning going (thank goodness, it was a hot March weekend!). We arrived at the ceremony about 10 minutes early.

Pros: Timeliness, flexibility, air conditioning, cleanliness of the trolley. They let us (groom/bride) stand in the back watching downtown as we drove to our photo location, which made us feel like royalty, as all the onlookers honked horns and waved and cheered at us! Great space for all of us, we had 7 groomsmen, 7 bridesmaids, 2 photographers, and the two of us. It fits 21 people at a time (not counting bride's dress pouf). The offices were very responsive when I had questions, and they called to follow up right before the wedding, to make sure their schedule reflected any recent changes we'd made.

Cons: Our driver tried to take off EARLY! We made it back to our ceremony/reception site right on time (maybe a little early), and he tried to leave!!! We still had 1.5 more hours or so left on our clock that was fully paid! The driver also didn't turn off the engine during our ceremony (we hadn't thought about that beforehand, but I was preoccupied to think about that! in my opinion, they should have experience with this and know that they should turn it off for these such things!), which made it hard to hear our ceremony music over the loud engine, and still didn't turn it off for the reception. We had our groomsman search for the driver (why was he hard to find?) to ask if he could cut the engine off.

Great solution to our large wedding party, with a touch of Charleston! The trolleys are everywhere downtown, so being in a nice white trolley was a nice Southern touch! Much better solution than a horse-drawn carriage that would've taken FOREVER to go places, plus it would be smelly!

We really wanted to provide shuttle service for all of our guests, since most were from out of town and we had an open bar. The woman who worked with me was extremely friendly and easy to work with. For the most part everything went without incident. I had a small problem with the service, and emailed them about it after the wedding. In spite of the fact that they had already been paid, my issue was quickly addressed and explained in great detail. They are expensive, but for what we wanted they were the best option, and I'm very happy we used them.

We wanted to transport our entire wedding party + parents and this was the best solution. They were a little costly but worth it. The only negative thing I can say is that they did not provide a cooler as we had asked them to. They kind of shrugged it off the day of when I asked the driver about it.

Absolutely Charleston provided transportation for our wedding party & guests from the ceremony to the reception. Drivers were very professional, however they were very unflexible on cost and very expensive. Overall was glad our guests had a safe ride back from the hotel to reception.

First, let me share that the transportation itself was perfect for both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding. The drivers were timely, and the logistics all worked as planned. The trolleys are very charming.

That's what really matters - that our wedding guests had a seamless (and fun) experience and didn't have to worry about how to get from place to place.

But often, with our emphasis on the big day, it's easy to overlook the hard work that went into vendor negotiations. Unfortunately for us, Absolutely Charleston seems to have a monopoly and can get away with a shoddily composed contract. And not just shoddy, but also unreasonable. My fiance at the time and I would never think of signing a contract at work without scrutinizing each line to limit our liabilities and of course red-lining a copy of what we find acceptable. Unlimited liability for gas price increases when our church and reception site were 1 mile apart = UNREASONABLE. Clause that says A/C can replace trolleys with any other vehicles (school bus, limo, shuttle, elephant?) for any reason is unreasonable. We responded as any responsible client would and asked to cap our liabilities and ensure that trolleys were guaranteed unless there was a mechanical reason. The business gave us a flat no without doing due diligence.

If we were paid in the time we wasted trying to agree upon a reasonable contract, we'd be paid more than we paid to the vendor themselves. So essentially we paid for the vehicles (and the services, which were rendered as expected) + the opportunity cost of our time.

Charleston is a lovely place for weddings, and in this competitive marketplace, vendors who do not adapt to their environment won't be in business for long.

That said, their product is great, our guests had a blast, the drivers were safe and reliable. So I would indeed recommend them, with legal reservations.

No complaints here - my driver even presented us with a gift. The only caveat was that we were charged $100 for going 15 minutes over our contracted time, but I was aware of that charge in advance.

They were alright, I suppose. They main compliant I have, is that they sent us the wrong trolley the day of the wedding. The one we had booked had broken down, but they did not inform either myself or my husband of this. It made a huge difference, b/c the one they sent did not hold as many people, and only had a top speed of 45 mph. My bridesmaids and I were about 25 minutes late to the ceremony b/c of this speed difference! Also, the whole bridal party and families did not fit in the trolley. I understand there is nothing they could truly do for the day of, but I expected at least a partial refund. Also, the a/c unit in the back leaked all over a few of my bridesmaids! What a disaster!

they were horrible. they lied to us and overbooked the trolley we had reserved a year earlier and sent us a minibus instead on the day of our wedding! then they refused to refund us our money. Terrible!!
