Absolute Entertainment Wedding Review

Highly recommend Gordon – the dance floor was full all night long and my guests raved how great the music was. It was exactly the vibes I was looking for my wedding – all age groups had the best time! I loved the online planning portal that helped with timeline, song suggestions for different activities (intros, first dances, cake cutting, etc.) and specific play/do not play lists. Look no further for a DJ for your wedding!

Excellent!

Absolute Entertainment did a great job with making our wedding day perfect! Ken was very helpful during our meetings while we were planning and guided us in picking the perfect music. One of the biggest compliments we got at our wedding was that the music was great and everyone loved our song choices! I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a DJ for their wedding.

Amazing Entertainer

Greg was awesome! We booked Absolute Entertainment because Greg did such a fantastic job at my sister's wedding so we knew we had to hire him for our wedding and boy did he deliver. Our guests loved his energy and song choices! He was able to pick up on our tastes even though we didn't suggest too many songs. He is a great host and entertainer from the wedding party entrances to the uplighting to the party songs; Greg can really do it all! We will be recommending him to all our engaged friends. Thank you for a magical night!

Gordon and his team were so professional and fun!

It was an absolute pleasure working with Gordon and his team at Absolute Entertainment. He was so patient with us and was very prompt in his responses. He included his own DJ-flare/artistry in shaping our playlist while also responding to the vibes during the wedding. He was so fun and always was asking about how to make the music/ceremony special and meaningful to us.

Gordon was so incredible and lovely to work with. He made the wedding actually feel like a party and he made all of our music choices flow.

Gordon kept a packed dance floor all night

Everything with Absolute Entertainment was great! We met with Ken a few months before our wedding for an in-person demo. We had Gordon as our DJ on the day of our wedding. He was incredible! Our dance floor was packed the entire night and he really listened to what we requested but found songs we didn't even know we needed. Absolutely recommend them!

Amazing experience, Gordon is awesome!

Having Gordon from Absolute Entertainment made our wedding so much fun and special. Gordon was the best!! So professional and obviously passionate about music and what he does. He was great at picking songs and understanding what we wanted when we didn't have a lot of words to describe it. He gave us a really good price for our wedding. So many people commented on how great the music was. The online portal is great to help organize the music for your event and getting to meet with your DJ beforehand and finalize details. Everything was stress free and perfect. We met with a few DJ's before deciding on Absolute and were so glad we waited it out. Book them ASAP!!

Best wedding DJ ever!

Amazing night

Gordon from absolute entertainment was absolutely amazing. He was an incredible dj and MC for my recent wedding and I couldn’t have asked for better. From start to finish he was professional and really knew what he was doing. He asked for our playlists but also knew how to mix like a dream. I would recommend him and absolute entertainment for all you dj party needs. If we ever need a dj again I already know who I’ll be getting.

Excellent DJ experience with Peter Kuyatt

We had Peter Kuyatt as the DJ at our wedding. From start to finish, he was consistently thoughtful and responsive to our wishes in terms of the music and presentation of the wedding. Peter is very knowledgeable about music generally and had a lot of ideas for what songs to play.

Peter was also very attuned to details like name pronunciations and how family relationships are described that are easily overlooked. At the wedding reception, he played a stellar mix of songs that suited the mood we wanted. We couldn't recommend him (and Absolute Entertainment) enough.

Wonderful DJ - Peter Kuyatt

We had a wonderful experience with Peter as our wedding DJ. He was so kind and so talented. He was really careful to include everything we wanted and genuinely cared about our experience. Our guests adored him also and our wedding party spent a while just having conversations with him as we all cleaned up post-reception. Tons of fun.

Absolutely a great DJ choice!

Everyone at our wedding had a great time and enjoyed all of the music Ken selected during our wedding. We had a few song selections that were must plays, but other than that, we gave him freedom to set the tempo for the reception and were not disappointed! All of these details were discussed during our pre-wedding meeting with him, where he helped us with some great advice on the schedule for the big day too! He did a great job feeling the room and judging the song selections, keeping everyone well entertained. An added bonus, he is also a pretty great photographer and got a few special shots during the wedding, when most DJs would have probably just stood around until it was time to do their job. He went above and beyond in our expectations! Thank you so much Ken!

Perfect for Our Day

We had a fantastic experience with Absolute Entertainment. The lights we got added the perfect amount of atmosphere. Our DJ was so on board with our unusual theme he brought in his own decorations. He also made us a mix tape of some of our big songs. He made our big day so much better and I can’t recommend them enough.

Gordon Thorn of Absolute Entertainment was the DJ for my graduation party. I became a Doctor and I wanted to celebrate my accomplishment in a big way with my family and friends. Gordon gave me a demo of his skills and abilities at the Absolute Entertainment's studio. He did a fantastic job of mixing music and picking songs that were to my liking. In that moment, I had a great time and I knew that my guests would have a great time, as well. Gordon was a complete professional and managed the process with finesse. I was already very emotional because my accomplishment of earning my Doctoral degree was a dream come true and I could hardly control my excitement. However, Gordon was calm and put my mind at ease with his high quality level of professionalism and attention to the details of my event. Gordon contacted me for a 2nd meeting 30 days in advance of my graduation party to go over my list of song selections. During this meeting, Gordon advised me of the expectations for the day of my event and advised me that he would take his queues from me. I was very pleased that we would have that kind of connection during my event. On the day of my party, Gordon arrived early to set up his equipment. He performed his DJ duties just as he discussed with me from the first song for my entrance to songs played at meal time, to keeping my guests on the dance floor as we partied throughout the evening. Gordon was always on point and did an outstanding job of managing the evening's music selections. He is a fantastic DJ and I believe that he is the best that I have ever encountered. Gordon made my party absolutely memorable. To Gordon, thank you so much for such a great time and for turning my party into a special occasion that my guests will remember for a lifetime. I only wish that I had another event planned so that I could invite you back as our DJ. You are the go-to DJ for us!

DJ Cedric is absolutely amazing at what he does! He is well known in the DMV dance community so we knew from the start that we wanted him to dj at our wedding. What we didn't know is how attentive to detail he is and how seriously he takes his job. Cedric took complete care of us and gave us a peace of mind with our wedding reception - he met with us long in advance, listened to all of our preferences, helped us clarify what we wanted the reception to be like, and stayed in constant contact with us when we made changes. Even on the morning of the wedding when I had a new idea of playing tribute to the 70s and 80s music icons Cedric happily made adjustments for us!

During the party the guests kept telling us how great the music was and how much fun everyone was having. We had a diverse crowd and Cedric made sure to play something for everybody. The dancing kept going until the place closed and I danced so much that by the end of the night my feet almost fell off lol. The energy in the room was through the roof!

Anyway, Cedric exceeded all of our expectations. His professionalism, his passion for what he does, and his talent to set the dance floor on fire are a rare find. We will always be grateful to Cedric for making our wedding reception such a great memory. Thank you Cedric!

DJ Cedric was fabolous!!! Everyone loved our wedding playlist and he was so flexible, kind and sweet throughout the entire process. He kept reminding me that this was my day and I could have any songs that I wanted. He was so flexbile as we gave him Hindi songs that he did not originally have on his playlist, and he incorporated Hindi, Salsa, american pop, rock and hip hop seamlessly. Everyone was dancing from all age groups until the very end. In addition, DJ Cedric also provided us with one on one salsa lessons so that we could master our first dance to La Vida es un Carnaval song by Celia Cruz. Absolute Entertaiment and DJ Cedric were able to exceed our expectations, all, while keeping us under our modest budget. We are so grateful for helping us to make our wedding a true success. I would highly recommend DJ Cedric for your wedding or next party!!!

DJ Ken Rochon was such a great DJ for our wedding. Not only was he easy to work with, we laughed the entire time we worked with him. Cedric was our DJ. From day 1 of working with Absolute Entertainment we knew we picked the right company. Gordon and Jessica always responded quickly to my emails. Cedric made it clear to us that he cared and wanted our event to be perfect. He went out of his way to make sure every song was tailored to us and our guests. Ken was excellent in all aspects of the planning and execution of our wedding. From making sure that he had the exact version of specific songs to guiding us through song selections, Ken kept the focus on us and what we wanted. He was friendly, honest, professional, and responsive. Ken did the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception and the music for every part was exactly what we wanted. Ken kept the dance floor packed from the time it opened until we were literally kicked out of the tent! I would highly recommend hiring Ken and Absolute Entertainment for any event.

DJ Gordon Thorn was recommended to us by a friend who had been at a family wedding and danced so much he “sweat through his tie.” The bar was set high and DJ Gordon Thorn pole vaulted over that bar! He was accommodating while still interjecting his expertise. He was the absolute best!

We were blown away by Gordon's professionalism! He treated us like family from the first meeting to the wedding day. Even at the wedding (We messed the timeline up quite a bit) Gordon was able to roll with the punches and get us back on track! We were probably very difficult customers with our multiple last minute changes, but Gordon stayed calm cool and collected the whole time! All of our friends kept telling us "the dj is lit!" Which is definitely a good thing!

Cedric and Absolute Entertainment were wonderful. We got so many compliments at our wedding about how fun Cedric was and what great music he played. Everyone was dancing the whole night!

My only complaint is the selfie station - it did not come with any props and was incredibly slow with processing. I thankfully had brought some of my own supplies for props so we did have something, but none of the stuff we were told we would have.
You couldn't see yourself before taking the picture so it was a surprise as to how it would turn out and you had to wait 3 minutes after each picture to see it and send it and then take a new one. I also thought it would print out 2 copies of each photo - it didn't print out any. You can only text it to yourself, so I won't be able to see any photos my guests took at the wedding. If I could do it over I would not have the selfie station at all - complete waste of a lot of money. It would be better to go with a legitimate photo booth.

Overall, DJ Cedric was great and made it a great party! The selfie station was a total disappointment.

All DJs are not created equally. Ken Roshon does not simply play songs. Ken is an artist and a creator. Ken crafts moods, moments, and memories that last a lifetime. Ken worked with us to create the perfect scheme for our day and then expertly controlled the flow of our ceremony and reception to help bring about the magic moments we will truly always remember. YOUR big day deserves nothing less. Don't hesitate...contact Ken early in your process. You don't want to miss out on this guy and I'm sure he books up fast!

Definitely book this company!!! We had so many compliments on our DJ. We hired Gordon who did a demo for us at the studio. He was fantastic. Not only did he keep our wishes for not allowing risque musical requests. But he also included both of our varied musical tastes in his playlist. By varied I mean house, gogo, pop, hip hop, classic R&B and even country. He was very responsive to emails and was our savior when we had to move to an indoor site for the ceremony due to weather and he was able to provide a PA and microphone for our officiant. Just quality services all the way.

Let me start off by saying these words: Excellence in Customer Service, Talented, Professional, Attention to details, Understanding of our needs, Generous Hospitality, Compassionate and Quality of Services.

On July 13, 2017, my fiancée and I finally got married after 6.5 years and this day was the best day of our lives together. Gordon from Absolute Entertainment made things possible that we thought otherwise was impossible. He provided a service that most cannot. He was able to read the crowd and made sure the dance floor was constantly packed with our guests having the time of their life! We provided a dedicated list of musics for our DJ Gordon to play but not all music was played. But then again, we gave him clear instructions to play whatever songs he needs to make our guest dance. We are extremely happy that he took it upon himself to play songs to entertain our entire guests. DJ Gordon made the impossible possible and we are extremely happy and pleased with the end result. Thanks for being patient with us during our initial meeting before the event. My wife made lots of adjustments with the play list because she's a perfectionist. Thanks for guiding us throughout the process and making our wedding day memorable. We are extremely happy with your talented staff. My wife and I wish your company much success and prosperity. Reliable and professional , We worked with Gordon Thorn and he was a team player! If we needed him to change a directive at the last minute , he was willing and able.
As far as Absolute Entertainment Policy - be sure to discuss ahead of time so you are clear on contract should you have to reschedule or cancel. We had an unusual circumstance , however we worked it out amicably.

Absolute Entertainment was great! Very accommodating and easy to work with. Jami was amazing, the ceremony music was great, we heard great things about cocktail hour, nice music but not too loud that you couldn't hear those you were talking to. She was great during dinner, played a nice variety of music and again wasn't too loud. We really enjoyed her during the reception and how she mixed our requests with upbeat and dance-able music, everyone had great things to say about her! I highly recommend Absolute Entertainment!

Ken DJ'd our wedding a few weeks ago. He kept our guests dancing all night! Great experience. Would highly recommend if you want a high energy, super fun reception! Absolute Entertainment did a great job with our wedding. They made sure things flowed well, worked with the caterer to keep the schedule going. The end result: an amazing time had by all, and we didn't have to worry about a thing! The DJ did play all the songs we wanted, but they did more than that. They kept the flow of the event and made sure we didn't run out of time.

DJ Peter was awesome!!! He was a great MC and kept everyone on the dance floor. He worked with us before our wedding to help us choose songs for all the events (procession, recession, dances, cake cutting, ect). He made sure everything was set up perfect so music was enjoyed all over the large outdoor venue. My husband loves mashups and Peter is very good at them and has a large collection. Cedric from Absolute Entertainment did an absolutely wonderful job at our wedding, and my husband and I could not have been happier. We received numerous complements throughout the night about the music selection and how much everyone was enjoying the music and dancing. The entire wedding was more than we could have ever hoped for, and it definitely would have been missing something without Cedric there. We truly appreciate Gordon's recommendation for Cedric as our DJ, and for Cedric taking the time to come work over Labor Day weekend for the wedding.

Before the wedding Cedric was an absolute joy to speak with on the phone and definitely made me feel like his top priority and that he would do EVERYTHING he could to make our wedding day absolutely perfect. During the wedding Cedric played a great variety of music and got everyone dancing. He even got on the dance floor himself a few times to lead the Wobble, Cupid Shuffle, etc. Additionally, we were pleasantly and humbly surprised that Cedric pitched in and helped our families clean up after the reception. He definitely went above and beyond to make our day truly special.

We couldn't imagine a better DJ than Gordon Thorn! The dancing was the highlight of our reception and Gordon perfectly mixed the right music at the right times. We met with him at his offices to talk about what we wanted for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. He picked up on it right away and worked with us to talk through the types of songs that would be a good fit. Many months later, Gordon met with us just before our wedding weekend and still had all the notes he'd taken and knew exactly what we wanted.
The music was perfect throughout the night. Gordon's setup for our ceremony and for the reception was excellent. We may be biased, but we've never seen guests who loved the music as much as ours. The dancefloor was packed from beginning to end. We had a few special requests and he filled in the rest perfectly. The online system for uploading "must plays" and "don't plays" was very helpful.
We are so thankful to Gordon and are so glad we found him! Two guests have already asked for his contact info. Thanks again!

JP was such a pleasure to work with! Within a few minutes of meeting him, we knew he was the right choice for our wedding. They were great to work with-- the owner of the company met with us and after talking songs for a while immediately knew who would be the best person to DJ for us. Jami was fantastic! I was so happy that we had a chance to meet with her in person before the wedding and go over exactly what we wanted. Their wedding site was great, it was a good way to organize the order of the evening and we sent copies of it to other vendors. JP was incredible. From the start of the process, he paid close attention to our needs for the wedding to ensure that our diverse guests would have a great time. From the moment we met with John Paul we knew we wanted him to DJ our wedding. We had an initial 5-10 minute general discussion of how we wanted the night to go and he was able to immediately play for us a sample of songs for the evening that fit exactly within our ideas. From there, the online planning tools that Absolute provides made the details easy. John Paul and his entire staff were also very understanding and flexible with us as we requested additional services from them right up until the week before the wedding. The performance itself was phenomenal and the dance floor was packed all night. A sample of the messages and comments we received the next day included: "That was the best music set for all night dancing I've ever experienced at a wedding" and "from cocktail hour to dinner through the reception that was the best compilation for good times I've ever heard."

I would recommend Absolute and John Paul to anyone planning an event.

Clive at Absolute is polite, professional, and clearly an expert when it comes to understanding what the bride and groom want in terms of music. I have already referred him to a friend.

Clive and absolute worked with our budget, he visited the private venue prior to the wedding, and was prepared for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception... all of which were on the same property, but in different locations.

He has clearly performed at a ton of weddings, and that came in very handy when developing our plan for the music.

Absolute Entertainment was absolutely delightful. I originally had booked my DJ 8 months before my wedding and was super excited about it. Well about a month and a half before the wedding I got a phone call that my DJ was unable to do my wedding and then I got in a complete panic. How was I supposed to find a reliable DJ at a reasonable rate a month and a half before my wedding? I then went to my venue's website and found Absolute Entertainment which was a recommended vendor (they also had great reviews on here). I contacted them by email and received a response almost immediately. I spoke with John Paul Berry on the phone and he was so great in helping me out and picking which DJ suited us the best. We had Steve Hartka and he was great! We spoke with him numerous times beforehand and he was able to understand the kind of vibe we wanted for our ceremony and reception. We received multiple compliments on the music and overall had a wonderful time. I would definitely recommend absolute entertainment, they are so easy to work with and have a variety of DJs to choose from.

Jami Grandt was our deejay and she was absolutely amazing. Knowing she was a a teacher and after meeting her in person, a comedian, I felt completely stress-free knowing our day was going to be well organized, choreographed, and exactly what we had planned. The greatest gift among many she has, is the ability to judge the crowd. I personally hand selected so many songs, which she played many if not all for the most part. But she gauged the crowd and selected songs off the cuff that got everybody on the dance floor. So many people complimented our music, and if it wasn't for Jami's taste and brilliant mix, the memories might not have been the same. She even gave us a CD with all our top specialty songs; I listen to this daily. I'm greatly appeciative of everyone at AE that brought our vision to life. Thank you all so much-your the best!

Adam was the DJ at a friend's wedding 2 years ago and my now husband and I were so impressed with his mix and the non-stop dance party, that we had to have him for our wedding. Kim was the absolute best DJ ever. She truly made our day very special! The music was amazing and all the music changed at all the right times like we had discussed. She knew exactly when to change the music, especially if she could see that the crowd was fading and that way she could bring them back to the dance floor. During dinner, the music was so perfect; calming and relaxing and just the right amount of jazz. During our slow dance songs, she knew when to cut them off in just the right amount of time. I would love to hire her again for another occasion! Definitely worth spending the extra money on her.

We had a great experience working with Absolute Entertainment and DJ Koolin (Kyle)! They were very professional, and made the process easy. Kyle played exactly what we wanted for the Ceremony and Reception, and was also a great MC- announced the dances, etc. Highly highly reccomend!

Absolute Entertainment was very helpful and accommodating from the very conception of our wedding plans. We chose Kyle because he seemed to be the best fit, and we couldn't be happier. He was so talented, personable and helpful.

Absolute provided DJ services for us. They were awsome! Our event started off with background music so everyone could mingle. Eventually the DJ got everyone on the dance floor and we had a blast!!

Absolute Entertainment came highly recommended from family members who have used them prior. Though no DJ's were repeated all of them were amazing especially Jami who did our recent wedding. She was wonderful to work with and made the whole process fun and easy. We wanted to make sure the dance floor was packed the entire time and that it was! We like all types of music and had a range of ages at our wedding and wanted to make sure everyone had a dance or two (or all!) that they did! Everyone, young and older came up to us to comment how great our DJ was.

DJ Adam Dutch Durham did an outstanding job DJing our wedding. With both of us being heavily into music, my wife and I had some rather detailed instructions and expectations as to what the music portion of the night would entail, and Adam met all of our needs in spades with professionalism. He was realistic with our suggestions, honest with what would work and what would not, and was quick to respond throughout the entire planning process. The dancing section of the night was slightly shortened due to everything else running long, but Adam was able to make every second count as he seamlessly weaved through his set and kept everyone happy and dancing. My wife and I are stoked that we chose Adam, and we would definitely recommend him and Absolute Entertainment to anyone planning a wedding in the greater Chesapeake area.

John Paul was wonderful to work with. We gave him a very eclectic list of music preferences, and he played them all (even if he had to search for them). Our guests were able to dance the night away!

Kimberly from Absolute Entertainment is THE BEST!!!! She is a pleasure and so much fun to work with. Not only did she help pick music for those specific moments that you wont even think about but she helped organize when they should happen. That was the biggest help! I cant thank her enough. Because of her my wedding went very smoothly. And of course the music was awesome!

John Paul was absolutely wonderful. From the very beginning, he listened to me and my husband about what we were looking for music wise, he responded promptly to all emails and calls, and was very helpful when we were stuck on song choices for different parts of the reception. The entire night of the wedding, the music was fabulous and everyone was having a great time dancing. We only gave him a few songs on the must play list and few on the do not play list, but JP got our styles and tastes and did an amazing job.

I cannot sing enough positive praises for DJ Adam Dutch. Our wedding reception was truly the time of our lives, and not just for us, but for our guests, as well. Our guests, ages 6-98 all had a blast! Adam is fantastic at getting all ages on the dance floor and keeping everyone dancing, ALL NIGHT! Couples in their 20 and couples in their 40s and 50s said it was the best reception they'd ever been to and I am confident that a lot of this had to do with Adam and how fantastic he is. The music was incredible, there was not a single lull or drag. He kept everyone wanting more. I could not have imagined the night going any better and thank you just doesn't seem to be enough. I HIGHLY recommend Adam for any event. He is adaptable, flexible, professional, understanding, great to work with and he truly knows his music and how to read a crowd!

Just got married last Saturday, and Peter K was awesome! He met with us prior to the wedding to discuss the types of music we are looking for. I loved that Absolute Entertainment provided an online planning tool so that you can add song requests & a timeline of events. Peter paid attention to every detail and made sure to make our wedding a fabulous one! I don't think there was a moment where the dance floor was not full. Everyone from all ages were gettin' their groove on all night long! Many of our guests complimented how well the DJ was and that the music was awesome. He was given a challenge since we had Persian, Greek, and Latin American music requests yet he managed to tie everything together so beautifully. My sister-in-law even got his card to DJ her High School Prom! I would highly recommend Peter K & Absolute Entertainment to DJ your special day. We were told our wedding was the best wedding anyone has been to from our guests. Thank you everything!!

Ken rocked it out! We signed the contract the day we interviewed him. Our music was tailored to our style. Ken and his crew was professional, fun, entertaining. Two months later I am still hearing how everyone loved the music. Ken is highly recommended. This isn't the first time a family member hired Ken and Absolute Entertainment. He also uploaded candid shots of our wedding the next day to Facebook. A gift from him to us. Must Hire!

Adam was AWESOME! Worth EVERY Penny. You have to have him DJ your wedding, he's not cliche, he gets EVERYONE dancing, and his mixes are GENIUS!!! He will make your wedding one to remember not just for you, but everyone in attendance.

Ryan Walburn from Absolute Entertainment is the best wedding DJ out there!!! A DJ can make or break your entire reception, and we received tons of compliments regarding Ryan & Absolute Entertainment. He took the time to understand our very particular must-play songs, worked with us to design our reception and make it flow, and was just all around a fantastic DJ & person.
