Simply a Rockstar
My wedding day honestly felt like a blur. Like so many brides, I remember being stressed and wanting everything to be perfect. I did have to make some cost-saving decisions, and being an out-of-state bride added another layer. Most of my family lives in Ohio, so it just made more sense to plan the wedding there instead of asking everyone to travel to me.
I found Crystal through a local wedding group, and from the very beginning she was absolutely wonderful. We chose to have a smaller, more intimate wedding by design, and because of that our day looked very different from a large, traditional wedding. We booked Crystal for 6 hours of coverage, and fitting everything we wanted into that window took thoughtful planning. Crystal worked closely with me to create a realistic timeline so we could get what mattered most and still enjoy our day.
We chose not to do getting-ready photos since hair and makeup weren’t on site, my husband didn’t want them either, and we didn’t have a bridal party. Our ceremony and reception were also about 45 minutes apart, with a specific arrival window at the reception venue. Crystal was incredibly understanding of all of this and explained exactly how we could make the timing work with photos and travel. I never once felt pressured or forced into doing photos I didn’t want. She respected our choices completely.
We actually finished family photos a little earlier than planned, which I was grateful for because I was already worn out by that point in the day. The timeline was never treated like something that had to be followed to the minute — it was flexible, realistic, and handled like adults working together. Crystal was efficient, organized, and quick without making anything feel rushed.
Before the wedding, Crystal sends out a detailed questionnaire, including limits on family photo groupings. As a bride myself, I completely understand why. Family photos take time, and she’s clearly trying to make sure couples get the most important shots without sacrificing the rest of the day. Wedding days are big, busy, emotional, and loud — everyone wants everything. Do you really want to spend your entire wedding lining people up for photos instead of actually enjoying your day? I appreciated her guidance.
I’ve seen a review from another bride criticizing Crystal years later, and honestly, I can’t relate at all. I find it ridiculous to post a negative review in 2025 about a wedding from 2023 and claim that “to this day” family still talks badly about the photographer. I loved Crystal — and that’s what matters. I couldn’t imagine her not being there on my wedding day. What my family or friends might think years later is irrelevant to me. It was my wedding, my experience, and my photos.
My family and friends loved her, but even if they hadn’t, I still would have. She is direct when she needs to be, confident in her role, and gets things done — and that’s exactly what I wanted. I don’t understand wanting a photographer who doesn’t take charge or just half-does their job.
Crystal was professional, fun, organized, and truly on top of everything. I loved my experience with her, and I love my wedding photos even more. I am so thankful she was part of my big day, and I can’t imagine it any other way. -

My favorite!!
Oh my God, I don’t even know where to start first I will say this I am a completely horrible wedding planner I over thought about everything. I was constantly overthinking every little aspect to the point that I stressed myself out immensely wedding planning entirely was just a royal pain in my backside! I spent a lot of time nitpicking and going through all of my vendors I would go into local wedding groups and ask for recommendations. I was asking my friends and family, and I wanna mention something. I got a lot of one-sided responses. Either people loved a particular vendor or people were bashing them and I think that didn’t help as well because either they had amazing things to say about vendors or they hated them . I will say this a lot of times I could read through the crap that was being said about why they didn’t like a particular vendor and in all honesty there’s a lot of people out there that just are not happy with anything ,with that being said I was extremely overwhelmed with the selection process. I would post in a Facebook group and I would get hundreds of replies and then I would get hundreds of emails about it and it got so overwhelming that I shut down. I happen to be talking to my wedding venue one day and she asked how everything was going when I stop by to kind of deviate my plan a little bit as far as how I wanted the room set up and I wanted to get a closer look of the venue. Space I was telling her that I was having a hard time finding several vendors and a photographer was one of them And she said I have some recommendations for you and one of the things that she told me was we do not sponsor or promote any wedding vendors she said we don’t have a preferred vendors list because everybody is entitled to having the vendor that they love she said but from time to time we enjoy working with some amazing vendors and I will keep their information if clients ask She gave me several listings for photographers for hair and make up and a videographer because that’s where I was still lacking in my planning stage, I went ahead and reached out to Crystal. I will say this. I emailed all four of the recommendation she gave me and two of them replied three months later Saying sorry we didn’t see your email. One of them replied a week and a half later and basically gave me a regurgitated response with here’s my pricing. Have a nice day. Crystal replied two days after my inquiry and I get that I sent the inquiry on a Saturday night at around 11 o’clock I believe. She answered all of my questions like I mentioned. I was a huge Overthinker. I probably made a lot of things worse during the wedding planning process that didn’t need to be, but she was always there, but I also know that people have lives to live. I did not get upset if she didn’t reply to me within 20 minutes of me sending her an email and anytime I texted her a question or let her know something about the timeline that we had come up with she replied. I’m not going to sugarcoat it and I’m not going to lie. The wedding day was freaking chaos. The venue coordinator was constantly telling us what to do. The DJ during the reception was keeping us on track. I was being pulled 20 different directions everybody wanted something from me. It was exhausting. I really truly did not get to enjoy my wedding day because I was constantly being told. Come here and take a picture with so and so . At one point during the reception we had requested a private dance while the venue was turning over for the night’s events no one was listening the DJ kept telling people to leave the room. The venue coordinator was yelling at everybody. Nobody was listening the point that I’m trying to make is I ran thoroughly through a lot of Crystal’s reviews and the -ones seem to say that she was rude. She was direct Sorry but you want someone that way you’re asking 60 to 150 people to listen to you, you kinda have to be and when I pay good money to my vendors, I’m expecting them to keep me in line and not waste my time and that’s exactly what happens. Crystal knew the timeline. She knew how much time we would have and I trusted her judgment Along with my venue coordinators. It hardens me to see that people are saying she’s rude. She’s direct that’s what’s expected. She was amazingly nice. I never had a single complaint. My family loved her. Everybody was talking to her and I find it hard to believe that guests were complaining because my guest hardly had any interaction with her. The only people that had interaction with her was my immediate family when we were taking photos the entire rest of the reception none of my guest had any interactions with her. Don’t get me wrong. I loved every minute of my wedding. It was just exhausting and overwhelming. I did receive my gallery from Crystal. It was amazing. It was everything that I could’ve asked for. She did an amazing job. We did get cut short on the timeline a couple of times again because no one was participating and no one was listening and the venue coordinator had to keep rounding people up again You don’t want a photographer that just stands in the corner and let people run around and do whatever they want I kept having family that was leaving and walking over to the cocktail hour to go get a drink after we told them multiple times they needed to stay in this location because we had family photos to take and they kept leaving and we had to keep stopping what we were doing to go over there and get them and bring them back over here I truly love my images. There is nothing about them that I would say is wrong. They were delivered on time high-quality my family loves them. I got nothing but compliments from my family and friends that attended my wedding. It was just overwhelming and stressful and that’s my only take away from the entire days events I loved all of my vendors I didn’t have any issues with any of them and it saddens me that again Brides will take to the Internet to destroy someone just because they’re not happy with themselves. I would book Crystal again 1 million times over she was amazing. -

Simply the best!
t’s been a few weeks since our wedding, and I finally have the headspace to sit down and really take it all in. The day was beautiful, but if I’m being completely honest, it was a lot. We didn’t have a wedding coordinator, and I would never recommend skipping one after going through it myself. Everyone — vendors, family, guests — kept coming to me with questions about what was next, where they needed to be, and when things were happening. It was nonstop. I was overwhelmed, trying to hold everything together, and could feel myself starting to unravel.
That’s when Crystal stepped in. She noticed without me saying a word. I was two seconds from tears, and she just quietly took over — answering people’s questions, giving direction, and politely but firmly getting everyone to stop hovering over me. She managed to calm the chaos while still doing her job flawlessly. She wasn’t supposed to be the coordinator, but she became the glue that held the day together.
Once she took control, I could finally breathe. I actually got to be in the moment and enjoy it again. I honestly don’t know how the day would have turned out without her. She went so far beyond what any photographer is expected to do, and she did it all with this calm, steady energy that made everyone else relax too.
When we got our photos back, I couldn’t believe how peaceful everything looked — you’d never know how crazy it all was behind the scenes. The pictures are stunning, but more than that, they feel real. She caught moments I didn’t even know happened — my mom laughing with my bridesmaids, my husband wiping a tear, little details that make the whole story come back to life.
If you’re a future bride reading this: hire Crystal. She’s the kind of person you want with you when things go sideways — kind, collected, and completely committed to making sure you still get the wedding you dreamed of. I’ll never forget what she did for me that day. She didn’t just give me photos — she gave me peace when I needed it most. -

Best Decision
We booked Crystal for our wedding and it was hands-down one of the best choices we made. She’s not just a photographer — she’s the person who made sure my veil was straight, got my mom to relax, and made my husband actually smile in pictures (which never happens).
Our day was a bit chaotic — the schedule changed, it sprinkled during the ceremony — but she just rolled with it. I didn’t have to worry about a thing because she had it handled. When we got the gallery, it felt like reliving the day all over again. Every little look, laugh, and tear was there. I can’t thank her enough. -

Love working with her.
I have worked with Crystal from A Wave of the Wand Photography in several capacities over the last two years. I am a videographer and have worked several weddings with her where I was the videographer and she was the photographer. She is nothing short but of AMAZING!!!
I get asked by clients all the time for referrals for photographers since I currently only offer video, and I will always recommend her. She’s professional, organized, and easy to collaborate with — which is rare in this industry. I’ve never once had an issue working with her. She’s always on time, prepared, and goes above and beyond for her clients on the wedding day. I’ve seen firsthand how hard she works — running between locations, helping with details that aren’t even her job, fixing dresses, pinning boutonnieres, calming nervous brides, keeping the timeline on track, and still managing to capture every important moment beautifully.
I have also worked for her as a second photographer and have never had a single issue getting paid or being ghosted like someone wrote in a negative review. Payments are always prompt and fair. Communication is clear, and she’s always filled me in on all the details, even when there wasn’t much to share. She values her team and makes sure everyone knows what’s expected, where they need to be, and what the plan is. That kind of leadership makes a huge difference on a wedding day.
Over the last two years, I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside her on some challenging weddings — tight timelines, missing vendors, bad weather, sudden schedule changes — and through it all, she’s calm, professional, and focused. I’ve never once doubted that she would handle any situation properly or make sure her clients and team were taken care of.
Being in the wedding industry for several years, I’ve learned that we live in a society quick to complain and slow to tell the full story unless it fits a certain narrative. Ninety percent of the time when someone writes a bad review, there’s a lot more to the story than what’s being shared. In my own experiences, I’ve seen how some clients twist details, exaggerate situations, or leave out the truth entirely because it doesn’t make them look good. People are quick to broadcast negativity but stay silent when things go right — and with Crystal, things always go right because she does the work, stays professional, and gives her all to every single couple.
I’ve personally seen her turn chaotic wedding mornings into calm, joyful ones just by stepping in with kindness and confidence. I’ve seen her fix timelines, smooth over vendor miscommunications, and make sure every bride feels seen and supported. That’s who she is — dependable, talented, and full of heart.
In fact, I’ve booked Crystal for my own wedding next year, and I am beyond excited to work with her in that capacity. I already know I’ll be in good hands, and I wouldn’t trust anyone else to capture such an important day for me.
I wanted to write this review to truly express my love, respect, and support for this remarkable woman. She is one of the few photographers I will recommend to my clients without a second thought — EVER. -

Would book with her again and again !
I booked with Crystal during Covid, and to say it was challenging would be an understatement. Planning a wedding in the middle of a pandemic wasn’t fun—it just piled on the stress. Family came at me from every direction with opinions, fears, and demands. Even with all that, our actual wedding day was beautiful.
I hadn’t planned on writing a review for Crystal—not because she did anything wrong (she didn’t), but because my photos spoke for themselves. My gallery is exactly what I wanted, and I’m more than happy with it. I feel lucky she was part of my wedding day. For me, the best “review” has always been recommending her to other brides, which is why I’m writing this now.
I’m in a few Facebook groups where I share my wedding experience—vendors I loved and what worked for me etc , I love helping future brides with finding the right vendors and just giving general wedding advice not all advice will work for each couple but I am happy to help . I came across a post about Crystal from what looked like a bride’s sister, and my heart sank. I read it a few times before I even commented because I was honestly disgusted. I also see Nikki left the same review on WeddingWire that she was posting in fb wedding groups. After seeing responses from past clients and vendors who’ve worked with Crystal, I wanted to make sure she had my support. She still does. I’m always raving about her and telling new brides to book her. I comment on fb posts when brides to be are looking for photographers , I loved working with Crystal and will continue to show my support to her . I love when a friend hires her and I get to catch up at the wedding. I still follow her on Facebook and love seeing all the weddings she posts. It makes me proud that she was my photographer.
The claim that Crystal is “rude” really stood out—because it’s not true. She was never rude. She was direct. And that’s exactly what I wanted. I needed someone who would tell my family “no” when it mattered and make sure what I wanted actually happened. Why wouldn’t a bride want that? There’s a difference in being firm and direct with what needs to be done, and just flat out being rude. I highly doubt in all honesty Crystal was rude. Based on much of what I have seen Nikki comment with in the fb groups, I tend to believe Nikki was the one being rude and Crystal was just doing her job.
I hired Crystal for a reason: she knows what she’s doing. A location might look fine to you, but if the light is harsh, the shadows are bad, the background is distracting, the space is too tight, or the timing will wreck the schedule, you need a pro who will say so. That’s her job. At my own wedding, there was a spot I thought might work, but Crystal pointed out we’d be squinting straight into the sun and the pictures would be blown out. She was right, and I’m glad she steered me away from it. And honestly, why was the sister so worried about where photos were taken? The photos are for the couple. Crystal worked for the bride, not for her. I find it odd that Nikki is so concerned with what she claims Crystal didn’t do – When it wasn’t her wedding and I laughed when I saw a vendor comment and say “ she has a job to do. Were you in the way, micromanaging, etc.? She has a timeline to stick to—were you interfering with that? She has a contract “ based on Nikkis comments she was probably trying to micromanage and interfere with the wedding.
Now to the other claims. Nikki said it took “over 16 weeks” and the photos were “sub-par.” That wasn’t my experience at all. My photos came back in the timeframe Crystal gave me in our contract, and the quality was great. Also, 16 weeks is normal for weddings—many photographers take longer than that. Wedding galleries aren’t tossed together overnight. I’d rather wait and get them done right- and I knew it would be a few months before I got my photos back and I was happy with that. Every photographer I interviewed before hiring Crystal had the same turnaround time frame policy some where even a year after the wedding – So again Nikki clearly doesn’t understand and I am guessing she had no clue what the contract actually said.
She also said there were “zero ceremony, zero reception, no first dance or cake cutting.” I find that hard to believe – First she complains Crystal refused to take photos that the bride wanted – But then she said the Gallery was delivered – so I am pretty sure the bride got the gallery and Nikki made up a reason to complain . My gallery had all of that and more—ceremony, reception, first dance, cake cutting, family formals, and a ton of candids I didn’t even know she caught, but every wedding is different so not galleries are going to be the same nor have the same amount, Some of the experiences that happened at my wedding might not happen at another wedding. And I have a real question here: did the bride even wait for the gallery to fully load before Nikki decided photos were “missing”? When I first opened my gallery on my phone, it took a while for every image to show up, it was only loading about 5 images so I thought something was wrong with my gallery. The email that came with my gallery even said to allow time for the files to load. I stepped away, came back, and there were 400+ photos ready to view. They don’t all pop up at once on a phone. It feels like Nikki was looking for reasons to complain. I bet $100.00 if I asked Crystal to see this brides gallery, not only would she let me see it, I bet I would find the photos Nikki claims are missing. I find it hard to believe Crystal would attend a wedding and not take a single photo and then email a bride an empty gallery.
The “gaslighting” comment? That one made me shake my head. I had a delivery hiccup myself—but it was because of my email, not Crystal. My work system blocked her message and threw it into quarantine, and I’ll admit I don’t check that folder often. Crystal had actually sent my gallery weeks before I even reached out. When I contacted her, she confirmed the email address she sent it to and immediately offered to resend it. I gave her a different email because I didn’t want the same thing to happen again. That’s not gaslighting—that’s being professional. Spam filters and company servers cause issues all the time, and it’s not fair to pin that on the photographer.
What also doesn’t sit right with me is how Nikki seems to claim she knows her sister’s email history inside and out—when emails were sent, how many times, and what was said. Unless the bride gave her full access, that doesn’t make sense. Either way, I’ve never had a problem with Crystal not responding to me. And honestly, the idea that a business owner should answer within minutes of an email is unrealistic. We all have work, families, and busy lives. Expecting an instant reply and then calling it “gaslighting” is just ridiculous.
Paid a lot of money for sub-par service” is another reach. You’re not just paying for pictures when you hire a wedding photographer. You’re paying for experience, skill, and leadership on one of the most stressful days of your life. A good photographer doesn’t just click a button; they manage the timeline, organize family photos (which is no small task), make judgment calls about locations, lighting, and pacing, and keep the energy of the day moving forward. That’s exactly what Crystal did for me. She wasn’t just there to deliver images—she was there to protect the flow of my wedding day.
From the start, Crystal listened and respected what I wanted. On our final call, I told her I didn’t want to spend my whole day taking pictures. She honored that completely. We got the family shots I wanted, she kept us on schedule, and when my mom tried to push for more, Crystal handled it with kindness but also firmness. That’s not “rude”—that’s what professionalism looks like.
And beyond logistics, she made it fun. She kept me calm when nerves hit, she made us laugh, and she carried herself with the kind of confidence that makes everyone relax. By the end of the night, she didn’t feel like just my photographer—she felt like a friend who had my back the entire day.
What makes Nikki’s review so frustrating is that she was just a guest, not the bride, not the groom, not even someone directly working with Crystal. Yet she’s out here writing as if she knows what really happened. She claims “guests thought Crystal was rude”—but let’s be real: Crystal wouldn’t have had any reason to interact with the guests at all outside of bridal party, immediate family, or when she was grabbing candid shots. Guests don’t know the photography plan, they don’t see the contract, they don’t hear the pre-wedding calls where the couple lays out their wishes. So how could they judge her performance? The only people qualified to review a photographer’s work are the actual clients—the couple who hired her. Everyone else is just an outsider watching a small piece of the day.
And this is where Nikki completely misses the point. A wedding photographer works for the bride and groom. Not the sister. Not the guests. The fact that Nikki feels entitled to dictate what photos should’ve been taken, how fast emails should be answered, or where Crystal should’ve shot shows she doesn’t understand the role at all. A guest’s opinion doesn’t outweigh the actual client’s experience—and as an actual client, I can say without hesitation that Crystal was worth every penny and more.
At the end of the day, I’m proud to say Crystal was my wedding photographer. She gave me a full, beautiful gallery, she kept my day running smoothly, and she did it all with professionalism, honesty, and kindness. I still rave about her to new brides, and every time I see her work pop up on Facebook, I’m reminded of how lucky I was to have her. One bitter guest review doesn’t erase years of happy clients, talented work, and vendors who respect her. If you want a photographer who will truly fight for your day to be everything you want it to be—book Crystal with A Wave of the Wand Photography. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Thank you so much !!! She was awesome
From the very start, working with Crystal at A Wave of the Wand Photography was everything I hoped for and more. From the moment I first reached out, she was quick to respond, answered every single question thoroughly, and always made me feel like my wedding day truly mattered to her. That sense of care never wavered. Leading up to the big day, I knew I could trust her completely, and that took such a weight off my shoulders. On the wedding day itself, she wasn’t just our photographer—she genuinely felt like part of the family.
Crystal was professional, friendly, and direct when she needed to be—which is exactly what I wanted and expected. Weddings are full of moving parts, and the last thing anyone needs is a vendor who hesitates or sugarcoats when decisions need to be made quickly. I trusted her with my day completely, and she proved time and time again that trust was well-placed. She kept us on schedule without making it stressful, and in the middle of the summer heat she was constantly checking on us, making sure we had water, touching base to see if we were okay, and reminding us to take a breather when we needed it. She even looked out for my bridal party, making sure everyone was as comfortable as possible while still capturing every shot we wanted. That level of attentiveness went far beyond photography—it was true care.
When it came to the photos, I honestly couldn’t have asked for more. She captured the big moments flawlessly—the ceremony, the first kiss, the reception entrances—but also the smaller moments I didn’t even realize were happening. My parents laughing together, our friends dancing like nobody was watching, the quiet glance between my partner and me before we walked into the reception… those photos mean the world to me. And the best part? Our gallery was delivered quickly and was so easy to access, download, and share with family. The speed, quality, and ease of it all blew us away.
Crystal gave us far more than just pictures—she gave us peace of mind, constant support, and an experience I’ll never forget. She went over and above what I ever expected from a wedding photographer. She wasn’t just clicking a camera—she was taking care of us, anticipating needs, and making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our day. That kind of energy and dedication is rare, and I’m so grateful for it.
And yes, I’ve read some of the so-called “bad reviews” floating around online. To be honest, they read more like drama than reality. One that stuck out was a bride who showed up late to her own reception and then tried to blame Crystal for not capturing certain moments. But let’s be real—if the bride and guests weren’t there, those moments didn’t exist to be photographed. Anyone with common sense can see that. Poor planning and lateness on the client’s part is not the photographer’s fault. Yet instead of owning it, she attacked Crystal for enforcing her contract. Vendors have contracts for a reason—they protect both the client and the professional. You can’t demand miracles when you didn’t hold up your own end of the timeline.
It’s the same with the family member I’ve seen online bashing Crystal. If that was my sister, I’d be embarrassed. Family or not, they do not speak for me. The only opinion that matters is the actual client’s, and I would never stand for someone close to me trying to tear down a vendor who gave me everything I could have asked for. It says far more about them than it does about Crystal.
And here’s the truth: if you are a future client and you’re foolish enough to believe these “bad reviews,” you’re the one missing out. People often write negative reviews out of spite, and most of the stories don’t even line up with what really happened. Don’t let the noise of a few bitter voices rob you of the chance to work with someone who will give you the wedding experience you deserve.
It makes me furious to see hardworking professionals like Crystal targeted by people who don’t take responsibility for their own choices. Having now been one of her clients, I can say without a doubt that those negative comments don’t reflect reality. They reflect entitlement. The truth is Crystal is one of the hardest working, most dedicated, and most caring vendors I’ve ever had the privilege of working with. She shows up fully, gives her all, and delivers on every promise.
I couldn’t have asked for anything more when it came to my wedding photographer. Crystal truly went above and beyond in every possible way. She captured our day with heart, she looked out for us every step of the way, and she gave us memories we will cherish forever. I would recommend her a thousand times over to any couple who wants not just beautiful photos, but a photographer who genuinely cares and will give you an experience you’ll never forget. -

Always my go to Vendor!
I’ve been in the wedding industry for over 12 years, and in that time I’ve built strong connections with vendors—some wonderful, some not the right fit. That’s part of this business. Our job as coordinators and vendors is to help clients find the people who best meet their needs, because no one vendor is going to be the right match for everyone. That’s the beauty of this industry: there’s truly someone for every couple.
One of my go-to recommendations has always been A Wave of the Wand Photography. I’ve worked with Crystal for years, and she is consistently professional, efficient, and dedicated to her clients. She does her job, and she does it well. That’s why it’s been painful to see the recent wave of misleading comments—especially when they don’t even come from actual clients.
I’ve watched a particular post make its way from a Facebook group to the Better Business Bureau, and now even onto WeddingWire. The truth is clear: this is not a client complaint. This is a disgruntled family member twisting the story and trying to drag down a professional who was simply doing her job. The condescending tone, the personal attacks, and the attempt to discredit her publicly are not just unfair—they’re harassment.
Here’s the reality: Crystal works hard, and she knows exactly how to do her job. When I work a wedding with her, I know my clients are in good hands because she will keep them on time, wrangle the family, power through the photos, and still deliver with professionalism. That’s one of the things I admire most—she is direct, she doesn’t let things spiral, and she gets it done. If you think you can just show up at a wedding and dictate to the professionals how things should be handled, you’ve got another thing coming. In my own profession, I would never tolerate family members or guests trying to tell me how to do my job. It’s not only rude—it’s disrespectful and flat-out inappropriate.
And here’s what blows my mind: the very things this family member is upset about are exactly what a couple should want from their photographer. A professional photographer isn’t there to smile and nod while chaos builds—they are there to manage time, guide the flow, and ensure the couple actually gets the images they hired them for. We all know weddings run on timelines. Every minute matters, and if you fall behind, moments get lost. You hire seasoned professionals because they have the experience to know when a location won’t work, when lighting is wrong, when a backdrop isn’t realistic, or when something simply won’t fit into the timeline. That’s not “rude.” That’s a vendor doing their job.
I would expect—no, I would hope—that my photographer would step up and say, “This won’t work, but here’s an alternative.” That’s the only way a wedding day stays on track. Directness is not disrespect; it’s professionalism. And I applaud Crystal for standing firm. Too often vendors are expected to quietly take abuse or interference, and that helps no one—not the couple, not the vendor, and not the event.
Communication and decision-making belong between vendor and client, period. Family members, no matter how well-intentioned, are not privy to the months of planning conversations and agreements made behind the scenes. To assume authority and then publicly attack a vendor for holding the line is unacceptable.
The fact that this family member was upset with Crystal for stepping up only proves how misplaced her entitlement is. I’ve worked alongside Crystal firsthand and never once seen her behave the way this client’s sister is claiming. What I have seen is her keeping everything in line, making sure the day flows smoothly, and protecting the expectations of the clients who hired her.
This sister’s behavior—trying to dictate, throwing tantrums, treating vendors like garbage, and then escalating it with harassment and bullying online—shows her true colors. And the irony is telling: the actual client hasn’t voiced a single complaint. Which only proves that these attacks are nothing more than malicious noise.
Crystal has over 14 years of experience and a reputation for delivering. She does not deserve to be dragged through the mud by someone who was never her client. As a fellow vendor, I won’t tolerate it happening to me, and I will not sit back and watch an industry friend be targeted. This industry is hard enough without outsiders inserting themselves, spreading harassment, and trying to destroy the reputations of seasoned professionals.
I stand with A Wave of the Wand Photography. I respect Crystal for protecting her clients, honoring her contracts, and refusing to be intimidated. That is the mark of a true professional. -

Best there is !!
I know everyone says their photographer is the best, but honestly, if you want someone who’s a total pro and you can trust 100% on your wedding day, Crystal with A Wave of the Wand Photography is the one you need. She’s the kind of photographer who keeps everything on track—and trust me, you need someone like her. From the moment I met her, I could tell she really listened to what I wanted. During our final details call, I was honest with her—I'm not the type to want to spend all day taking photos. I've been in a few weddings before mine, and I witnessed how the bride and groom feel pressured to keep taking photos with every family member and friend who asks. I knew my mom would want a million pictures, and I just wanted to focus on getting the most important family shots and then be done with it. Crystal totally respected that. She made sure we got the key shots I wanted and didn’t waste any time on things that didn’t matter to me. And let me tell you, she didn’t take any flak from my family either! When my mom wanted more photos, Crystal kindly but firmly made sure they knew what was going on and kept everything moving on schedule. It was such a relief to have her in charge of that!
But it wasn’t just about getting things done. Crystal made the whole experience fun! She’s so easy to be around, so helpful, and just an overall joy to have by your side on your wedding day. She kept the mood light, made us laugh, and helped calm my nerves whenever I needed it. She truly felt like a friend by the end of it all, and I can’t thank her enough for making our day so special. Crystal isn’t just a photographer, she’s someone who’ll make your whole wedding day run smoothly while also bringing so much joy and fun to the experience. -

One of the best!
Crystal has been a part of so many milestones for my family and friends—from photographing my sister’s wedding to capturing mine this past fall, as well as weddings for several of my college friends and church community. She’s always been professional, talented, and deeply committed to capturing each day as it truly unfolds.
Recently, I came across a harsh review from a Bride in a Facebook group. After reading the Bride’s complaints and comparing them with what I know about Crystal’s process, it became clear that the Bride’s issues stemmed from her own lack of preparation and unrealistic expectations. From what was shared, the Bride admitted to being over 90 minutes late to her own reception. Yet, she seemed to blame Crystal for not capturing moments like guest interactions and dancing—things that simply didn’t happen because of the delayed timeline.
It pains me to see that this Bride not only decided to bash Crystal in a Facebook group, but she also took to the Internet to write a false review. I hope future brides will look at that review with judgment and realize that the Bride’s shortcomings were the issue. All of Crystal’s other reviews speak the truth—she is always remarkable and amazing. She is simply her. She’s very down-to-earth and incredibly straightforward, which is one of the many reasons why we love her.
I’ve also read comments from other photographers supporting Crystal, pointing out how challenging it is to capture anything meaningful when so much time is lost due to delays outside of the photographer’s control. Crystal has always been transparent about what she can deliver based on the day’s timeline, which is exactly why my family and I continue to recommend her to everyone we know.
When I booked Crystal for my wedding, I knew my photos would reflect what actually happened on my day. Did everything go perfectly? No. For example, some of my guests left early, and my dance floor wasn’t as full as I’d hoped. But I didn’t expect Crystal to create moments out of thin air or photograph unflattering shots of guests sitting around. What she delivered was beautiful and authentic—highlighting the joy and love of the day.
It’s heartbreaking to see someone attack a vendor because they failed to read their contract or plan accordingly. Crystal works hard to ensure her clients have a smooth experience, and her work speaks for itself. A year later, I still look back on my gallery with so much emotion, reliving those moments over and over again. If you’re looking for a photographer who will deliver the best of your day, Crystal is the one to call. She’s professional, skilled, and truly a joy to work with.

She was our lifesaver!!!
Two weeks before my wedding, I found myself in every bride’s worst nightmare—my photographer completely ghosted me. I had booked this person over a year and a half in advance, met with them in person, asked all the questions, and read countless reviews. I thought I had done everything right. I’m not the type to take reviews at face value, especially since I work in the service industry and know firsthand how clients often turn to reviews when they don’t get their way. Many times, the story isn’t the full truth—it’s their way of making themselves look better and the vendor look worse, usually because of miscommunication or misunderstandings.
But in this case, there was no misunderstanding. My photographer simply bailed on me with no explanation, and I was left two weeks out from my wedding scrambling to find a replacement on one of the busiest weekends in October. I was devastated. I had spent so much time carefully choosing my vendors, believing I had done my homework, and it all fell apart.
When I asked for recommendations, Crystal’s name came up again and again. I reached out to her, explained my situation, and she immediately jumped in to help. At that point, I didn’t have a lot of money left to spend, since I wasn’t getting a refund from my original photographer, but Crystal worked with me to create a plan that fit within my budget and gave me the coverage I needed for my day.
From the very start, she was warm, professional, and compassionate. She asked thoughtful questions, took the time to understand what I needed, and reassured me that everything would be okay. On my wedding day, she went above and beyond. We had some hiccups with catering running late (because let’s be honest, weddings rarely go perfectly), but Crystal handled it all seamlessly. We knew she would do the best she could ! All of our vendors were simply amazing and worked together wonderfully.
As for the photos—she nailed it. I told her from the beginning that I wasn’t the type of bride who needed every little moment captured. The only things that mattered to me were the big moments with my husband and family, like our first kiss and saying “I do.” Everything else, I told her to just go with the flow and have fun with it, and she absolutely delivered.
Looking back, I still can’t believe how close I came to not having a photographer at all. It breaks my heart to think about how many brides are left in situations like mine. Crystal was the blessing I didn’t know I needed, and I will forever be grateful for her. If you’re considering booking her, I can’t recommend her enough.
One last thing: don’t let a handful of negative reviews scare you away. I know firsthand that when people don’t get their way, they often rush to write a review to paint themselves in the best light and the vendor in the worst. Crystal was honest and upfront with me about everything, and she showed up when someone else let me down.
I had a photographer who not only didn’t bother to show up but also left me with no explanation. And all of their reviews were over-the-top and amazing. Despite all of that, I still ended up with the most remarkable, amazing day. Crystal made it happen, and she truly saved the day for me. If you want someone you can trust and who will have your back no matter what, she’s the one.

Unforgettable Experience
As the mother of the bride, I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude and joy as I write this review for Crystal, who recently captured my daughter’s wedding with an artistry that left us absolutely speechless. From the very beginning, Crystal stood out in our search for a wedding photographer, and now, looking back at the beautiful images she has provided, I can confidently say that choosing her was one of the best decisions we made.
Our journey to find a photographer was quite the adventure. With our wedding planning becoming a whirlwind due to last-minute venue changes and the challenges of coordinating around my daughter and her now-husband’s demanding work schedules, we were on a tight timeline. As we navigated through a maze of photographers, we encountered a few roadblocks—availability issues, budget constraints, and responses that were less than satisfactory. It was a relief and a blessing when Crystal responded promptly, providing thorough and clear communication about her packages and what we could expect. Her attentiveness and willingness to answer all our questions stood in stark contrast to our experiences with others.
We decided to have a phone consultation with Crystal to get a sense of her style and to discuss any lingering questions. From the moment we spoke with her, it was clear that Crystal was not only a skilled professional but also someone who genuinely cared about making our day special. She took the time to explain everything in detail and even offered valuable recommendations for the venue issues we were encountering. Her patience and helpfulness were beyond what we could have hoped for.
The wedding day arrived swiftly, and Crystal, along with her daughter, formed an incredible team. Their synergy and dedication were evident throughout the day. As a mother, I was particularly touched to see Crystal’s daughter working alongside her. It was heartwarming to witness the passing down of such talent and work ethic from one generation to the next. Crystal and her daughter worked seamlessly, capturing every moment with a level of professionalism and care that truly impressed us.
I recently came across a comment questioning the significance of the second photographer’s role, and it made me reflect on our experience. To us, it was never about whether the second photographer was a family member or a friend; what mattered was their ability to do the job reliably and with skill. Crystal and her daughter did just that—bringing not only their technical expertise but also their passion and joy to their work. The results were nothing short of spectacular.
In summary, Crystal’s work far exceeded our expectations. The images she captured are nothing short of stunning, preserving the essence and emotions of the day in a way that words cannot fully express. To Crystal and her daughter, thank you for your hard work, your incredible talent, and for being such a wonderful part of our celebration. You have gifted us with memories that we will cherish forever.

Beyond expectations absolutely amazing !!!
“First off, I absolutely loved working with Crystal! She was so sweet and down-to-earth, just amazing. I was in a total panic because my original photographer canceled on me at the last minute. I was super stressed and didn’t think I’d find anyone, especially on such short notice and on a weekday. I posted in some wedding photography groups, and so many people recommended Crystal! They said they weren’t sure if she was available, but that she was incredible, so I decided to reach out.
I messaged a few photographers, but either they didn’t get back to me for days or their prices were crazy for a last-minute wedding. Crystal, though, responded within 24 hours, which was completely reasonable. She worked with me even though my budget was tight because of the situation, and the whole booking process was so easy. She made everything stress-free!
Crystal was so organized, too. She gathered all of my information and sent me a super detailed packet to fill out. It honestly eased my mind because I knew she was going to capture everything I wanted and more.
On the day of the wedding, we had some rain and a few hiccups with last-minute guests arriving late, but Crystal was phenomenal. She worked through everything without missing a beat and stayed right by my side the entire time. I couldn’t have asked for a better photographer. She captured every special moment, even in the chaos. I’m beyond grateful for her!
She didn’t just take pictures; she made sure I felt calm and comfortable the whole day. She even helped organize people when things got a little hectic and somehow always seemed to be in the right place at the right time for those sweet, candid moments. By the end of the day, it felt like I was working with a friend rather than just a photographer.
I can’t recommend Crystal enough! If you want someone who will go above and beyond to capture your special day with so much care and creativity, she’s your girl!” -

Making wedding photo dreams come true!
Crystal did such an amazing job with our wedding photos! She took everything we wanted and made it a reality! We were cut short on our time the day of ( mostly due to the bride and groom running late) and she was able to squeeze in all of our family photos and some amazing spur of the moment ones! She kept me calm and collected the entire day, encouraging me when needed and helping compose myself whenever I became stressed, she really is a must have for your dream wedding!
Crystal does have a way of doing things in order to get things done in a very quick and timely fashion and not everyone appreciated it but I as the bride, wanting to see everyone happy with the results loved her and couldn’t imagine our big day without her! -

Simply amazing hands-down, the sweetest!
We were recommended to Crystal by a family friend who used her for their wedding a few years ago. After reviewing her gallery and seeing her work on Facebook, we knew she was the perfect choice to photograph our wedding day. Crystal's communication was excellent. Although she is very busy, as evident from her frequent Facebook updates, she always managed to keep us informed. I loved seeing her real images and thoughtful posts, which showcased her fun personality and the beautiful details of the weddings she photographed.
On our wedding day, we encountered several hiccups, including issues with the venue not allowing us in on time and vendors showing up late. However, Crystal remained unfazed and did an amazing job. She was always there to keep me calm and ensured everything moved smoothly. When it came time for family photos, I was stressed due to our large families, but Crystal handled it brilliantly. She kept track of everyone and efficiently organized the photos, making sure the process was quick and smooth. Her persistence and ability to keep things running on schedule were impressive.
Throughout the night, Crystal was not only professional but also enjoyable to have around. She even joined us on the dance floor, adding to the fun atmosphere. My family loved her, especially my mom, who was a bit uptight and stressed, wanting everything to be perfect. Seeing my mom laughing and getting along so well with Crystal eased my mind, as my mom can be a bit controlling. Everyone told me how amazing Crystal was and how much fun she made the day. She truly was an asset to our wedding day.
I eagerly awaited our wedding photos, understanding that the turnaround time would be several weeks given her busy schedule. When she posted our sneak peeks, I cried tears of joy and shared them with everyone. Shortly after, I received the full gallery, and it was simply amazing. Crystal's attention to detail and ability to capture incredible shots, including moments I hadn't even noticed, blew me away. I truly love every aspect of our wedding gallery and will cherish these images for years to come.
Crystal did an outstanding job, and I highly recommend her to everyone.

Simply Amazing.
I spent countless hours interviewing other photographers and after meeting with Crystal I just felt like it was a really good fit for our wedding day . I was right she was so professional on time and ready to go we had a few issues come up on our wedding day and she was always there to lend a hand and go the extra mile she was probably one of the only vendors that we had they didn’t give us a headache which spoke volumes for her . I love all of my images and I continue to recommend her to all of my family and friends . -

A wave of the wand photography did a phenomenal job photographing our wedding in South Lake Tahoe and our reception in Reno. I also had Crystal photograph my college graduation photos! They all turned out amazing and between Crystal and her second shooter, we got almost 800 photos for the wedding! They are professional, creative, full of energy and patient. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for top-notch photography services. -

Warning for other bridesmaid
First of all, very unprofessional responses. They posted photos of our wedding on Facebook that they refuse to give to us in our gallery. When questioned they state to refer to our contract. We were informed we would get the whole gallery. We have 100s of photos of our decor and food and not a lot of guests or us. Half of our guests were missing. It was blamed on us being late to our recpetion by an hour when it was questioned. And they stated that no one was having fun and on their phones so they didn't take photos of people. I would think as a photographer you'd engage guests and interact and have guests pose. We had no pictures of our bridesmaid entrances, guests using our interactive guest books, certain guests that were dancing were no pictured. When asked she cannot anwser any of the questions directly. We had no issue with any other vendor and sadly we had major issues. To me all you need to know about a business is how they respond to issues and complaints. I got nothing but mean responses from this vendor. You can see I asked several times for specific photos that were posted to Facebook to be sent and she will not address it and keeps saying it's to her discretion what photos I receive. If you want all of your photos please think twice before working with her. She responded saying for me to handle this matter privately but as you can see in the screenshots she said she will not longer be speaking to me. Doesn't make sense to me.-

Terrible experience
Just a heads up, beware taking any jobs/gigs from Crystal Bruder from Wave of the Wand photography.
I was hired by Crystal to shoot a wedding for her back at the beginning of November, as she needed an associate to shoot that wedding for her. Since then, Crystal has been extremely unprofessional, broken her contract with me, and ghosted me, not paying me for my work.
Moral of the story I guess, make sure you have a solid contract with anyone before taking on a gig, make sure you actually get paid a deposit prior to the event, and research the photographer to make sure they're a legal business. -
