Beverly Sent on 12/07/2024I was at an event where both Carol and Beledo were performing and I couldn't stop dancing and listening to her magnificent voice & his guitar playing.
I am a senior citizen and I come directly from a musical and operatic family. I had the occasion to listen to and dance to music and song created by this wonderful couple, the Beledo's. I was so impressed and astounded by what I was witnessing, I had to take time to talk to them during their break. It didn't end there. I found their personalities are exceptional and we connected in such a way that we have created an enduring and loving friendship that commands my respect and appreciation for them as artists as well. I am so glad we chose A Starry Night Music for our wedding! Carol was absolutely lovely, from the first phone call to the last dance song. She understood exactly the vibe we wanted and stuck to it! She was super easy to communicate with and had fantastic song ideas. Everything went so smoothly on the day and the music flowed so nicely. My partner and I recently worked with Carol to DJ our wedding. She was highly recommended by a close friend who is in the music entertainment industry. From our first call with Carol, we knew she would be the right fit for us. We know some couples who we were recently married who used other DJs from other companies for their wedding. They complained about providing a song list to their DJ, only to have it ignored. Carol made it clear that she would not do that. She listened to our needs and made our priorities her priorities. The music and the food are what guests remember about a wedding, therefore, I had very high expectations of Carol leading up to the big day. Carol understood the assignment and she delivered.
In addition to the recorded music, we wanted some live music throughout the night. Carol found us two amazing musicians, a trumpet player and a trombone player, to play along. All evening, Carol would check in with us to make sure everything was going according to plan.
I cannot recommend Carol highly enough. She is professional, she listens, and she will do everything she can to make sure you have an amazing night.A Starry Night Music's reply:

We had a modern, Jewish wedding at a historic, upstate New York barn overlooking a creek. We hired DJ Carol and Beledo of A Starry Night Music for our October 2021 wedding, and it was truly the best decision. DJ Carol was punctual and very professional from start to finish: she gracefully talked us through her suggestions, and what to expect from A Starry Night Music, and then left plenty of room for us to brainstorm with her and make requests. DJ Carol truly thinks of every detail which helped put us at ease, so much so that we felt truly taken care of throughout the entire process of working with her. For our Jewish wedding, we had some very specific music requests: for example, we asked that the music for the hora dance (circle dancing) last for about 30 minutes, and start and end with a specific song. Not only did DJ Carol create a seamless process, her DJ skills are so smooth and her choices are so skillful that our hora kept dancing for an hour! While we didn't work as closely with Beledo before the wedding, his flamenco guitar skills are smooth, and highly capable. We asked him to play during our cocktail hour, and were so impressed. Overall, A Starry Night Music received our highest praise, and we sincerely hope that you'll be able to work with Carol and Beledo. We are so grateful for the heart that they put into their music, as well as their grace, professionalism, skill, and genuine hospitality throughout.A Starry Night Music's reply:

Carol is such a thoughtful, skillful, highly professional, and warm DJ. She collaborated with me to ensure that I had the wedding and reception of our dreams. Carol made herself available for calls to plan and to confirm that what she had in mind matched exactly what my needs and wants were. She took the time to get to know us so that she could develop a program consistent with our personalities and our theme. The transitions between songs were seamless, and our guests loved her! Carol was absolutely amazing! Before the wedding, she was very quick to respond to emails and took the time to talk to me on the phone when I had questions. The day of, she came very prepared and was all set up and ready to go plenty long before the wedding began. Carol kept the whole night fun and energetic while reading the room and playing just the right songs at the right time. Nothing felt rushed, and she allowed us to decide when to cut the cake and have parent dances so we could take our time with socializing and not feel as though we were being pulled away from our guests. She had great suggestions for songs when I wasn’t sure what song to choose for the second song after the first dance to get everyone on their feet! Carol was the absolute perfect choice of DJ for our wedding and we cannot recommend her enough!A Starry Night Music's reply:

We chose Carol after searching for a DJ who wasn't ridiculously over the top. Carol knows that for some couples, air horns and cheesy boas and glasses are not at all what we want for our guests. From the very first contact, she put me totally at ease. She is friendly as can be and truly listened to our vision for the music that evening. We were the nightmare client in that we literally provided her with an exact list of the songs we wanted. We left her with no creativity and she didn't complain once. Her equipment was exceptional in that we had ZERO problems all night. The dance floor was packed the entire evening and the volume never got out of control. Everyone said the music was their favorite part of the evening! Wish we could live the night all over again and highly recommend Carol if you are looking for a solidly talented DJ who will only add to the overall experience for guests, not annoy and distract. I feel very grateful for all the beautiful music she prepared for us and her excellent string band. Without Carol's help, I doubt I could have such a wonderful and dreamy wedding in such a proficient and professional manner.
We had a few phone conversations, selected play lists, and verified a couple special music selections. On our day, Carol arrived early to set up. The sound was beautiful, the lighting was on point, and the party was so wonderful until the very end! Carol's voice and annunciation were exactly what we wanted. She checked in with us earlier in the day and clarified some pronunciations, reviewed the time-line, and we got comfortable with the rhythm of the events with a mini rehearsal.
I consider myself very fortunate for having a chance to work with an expert like Carol. Working with her was a great and enjoyable experience for me. I really value the knowledge and insight she has, and her willingness to share it with me. I credit her for the success of my wedding as well as for the beautiful music journey she gave us. I thank you for that..
Our day was so awesome! With all the things that went into planning our event, working with Carol made it easier. We put our faith and trust in her, believing that she was the right choice for our day and she absolutely was! I don't think we could imagine a better wedding day. Ours was amazing, it was perfect! -

Her husband Beledo played the acoustic guitar beautifully during our cocktail hour. During the reception, Carol was so great and calm when we were practicing our first dance. She stuck to our playlist and accommodated our special requests from songs we found on youtube! Thank you Carol & Beledo for making our event memorable! -

We had a lot of trouble finding a DJ who we liked, because we had a slightly unusual reception (dancing was in a separate room and wasn't a priority to us, but we still wanted a DJ and not just music playing). We had a DJ flat out tell us that he didn't want to work at our wedding, and were delighted at how excited and enthusiastic and eager Carol was about our wedding plans, right from the first meeting!!
I, like many brides, got a bit flustered and stressed pre-wedding, and my plans of carefully planning the music, including play and do not play lists, went out the window. But based on the sheets I filled out for her, she built great song lists that were just what I wanted, and included all of our "must play" songs perfectly. One of my guests told me that she played all of the music that they wanted at THEIR wedding last year.
We had a specific list of pre ceremony songs we wanted, leading up the processional, and she mixed them together so they faded into each other, which was great, and then built the rest of the pre-ceremony music off of that playlist, so it flowed really well. Her system was wonderful, and the wireless mic we used for the ceremony picked everything up really well. Timing was really good, too, and she was flexible - I changed my processional song about three days before the wedding, after having it picked out for months, and I had meant to double check with her prior to the ceremony beginning to make sure it was good to go, but I didn't need to.
Our wedding was a little unusual, because the reception was in three connected rooms, with guests sitting in two and dancing in a third. We also had a lot of interactive food (stations, cake buffet), so eating was a little more action based than it normally was, so we didn't get as much dancing as a normal wedding - maybe three or four songs of dancing after the cake cutting. BUT, we're not big dancers, our family and friends were too busy eating cake, so it wasn't a big deal. But what was impressive to me was how concerned Carol was that no one was dancing - which was completely NOT her fault, it's just that our guests are, well, people who would rather eat cake and drink a cup of coffee and talk to their aunt than hit the dance floor, especially if you had to walk there. She was genuinely concerned that we would be upset that no one was dancing, which I could care less about. We planned to get everyone on the dance floor for the song before the last dance, and then the last dance, and then it was over.
So, basically, she was awesome. Her equipment was discrete and well placed, she has a wonderful voice for announcements, is very nice, very on top of everything and into details. She called me on Friday night because she couldn't find a specific version of a song we had requested, and was willing to get the CD overnighted to her so it could be at our wedding - thankfully, my husband simply had the MP3 and emailed it over to her. Most of all, she really does everything that she can to make sure that you have the perfect wedding. I would highly recommend her.A Starry Night Music's reply:

Carol and her husband were just wonderful! We hired Carol because she does NOT play the cheezy stuff. NO line dances NO Shout - none of the WAY OVERPLAYED songs that you've heard at every wedding since the 80's. What we received was much more! We decided to hire Carol for the reception and her husband (a guitarist) for the cocktail reception. We received such great comments through the wedding and after about the music. People were on the dance floor ALL NIGHT! Even my 83 year old grandfater was dancing till the last song! The music is such an important part of any party. Michelle Sent on 04/30/2008Carol Moore was fantastic. She provided music we chose and did it with class. Music makes the event and she was open to all our suggestions, played what we wished and was, as she put it, a "quiet linebacker" when fielding requests.
She made our night special and I would definitely use her again and recommend her to future couples.
