Wedding Reception

We had A Starry Night DJ our wedding reception in October, and I truly cannot recommend them highly enough. From the very beginning, Carol was incredibly attentive—she hopped on multiple calls with me throughout the planning process to make sure every detail and every wish was understood and accounted for. By the time our wedding day arrived, I had complete confidence that she knew exactly what we envisioned and would do everything she could to bring it to life.

On the day of, Carol kept the entire evening running smoothly and followed the plan we had created together perfectly. She blended our must-play list with additional songs that matched the energy of the room and kept the dance floor full all night. As a bonus, she even put together a sweet video montage of our guests dancing, which we now have as a special keepsake.

I could not recommend A Starry Night more—Carol helped make our big day unforgettable.

Best Reception Ever!

Carol was incredible to work with from start to finish. My wife and I are super busy with work and being able to meet virtually was a blessing. Her advice on the flow of the wedding reception, the songs to play, and her ability to pickup on our likes and dislikes translated perfectly to the reception. The dancefloor was packed all night, literally as I would think "she should play this song", bam it would start playing. Having Carol as part of our wedding team was the perfect choice and she really made the reception the epic party that it was!

Just What We Wanted!

We chose Carol and A Starry Night for our wedding and were extremely happy with the experience. We would recommend her highly.

What initially set Carol apart was her background as a trained musician with a strong performance foundation. That depth of musical training clearly informs her work as a DJ and immediately distinguished her from others we considered.

We were looking for someone experienced who brought a quiet elegance to the role. Many wedding DJs tend to make themselves the focal point of the event, which was not what we wanted. Carol struck exactly the right balance — enhancing the energy of the celebration while never overpowering it.

Carol’s website describes her events as fun, sophisticated, and cliché-free — and that description was spot on. Her presence complemented the celebration beautifully, which was exactly what we were hoping to find.

We were looking for something beyond the “cookie-cutter” or “one-size-fits-all” approach of many wedding DJs. Carol delivered exactly what we were hoping for — and more than we realized we could find.

Magical night with great music

Mom’s Birthday Surprise 79

After scrolling past several DJ websites for about an hour, I happened upon A Starry Night Music. The website had a calming effect which was a great sign! From start to finish, Carol responded promptly, while on vacation no less, and worked with me on the right DJ and price. Both Carol and DJ Marla made the booking process smooth and stress-free. The music selection was perfect, blending crowd favorites that everyone loved. She took the time to understand the vibe we wanted, ensuring every transition between songs was seamless. I was at an event where both Carol and Beledo were performing and I couldn't stop dancing and listening to her magnificent voice & his guitar playing.

I am a senior citizen and I come directly from a musical and operatic family. I had the occasion to listen to and dance to music and song created by this wonderful couple, the Beledo's. I was so impressed and astounded by what I was witnessing, I had to take time to talk to them during their break. It didn't end there. I found their personalities are exceptional and we connected in such a way that we have created an enduring and loving friendship that commands my respect and appreciation for them as artists as well. A Starry Night Music Review for our wedding--Carol and Beledo are awesome!!!

Carol and Beledo were awesome!!! They made our day feel so special. Carol was our DJ and Beledo helped with setting up and taking down the equipment. Carol was really helpful and responsive when we were selecting music and going through the song choices for the different events of the day. She responded very quickly and was very on top of everything at our meetings. We received many compliments on the music from our wedding, and I know of several compliments that she received directly. Carol was awesome with helping us with the song choices and really got a feel for who we are and what we wanted, and everyone said they had a blast. They also worked really well with the maitre'd, photographer, and videographer, and everything went off perfectly!! Most importantly though, Carol and Beledo are two beautiful souls who you can tell really care about their clients and what they do. They are so warm, kind, and personable and really made us feel important on our special day. It was amazing getting to share this experience with them, and we will cherish the memories they were instrumental in creating for the rest of our lives.

Simply the Best!

We had Carol as our DJ and her husband Beledo as our pianist and guitar player during the cocktail hour and couldn't be happier! Leading up the the wedding Carol was very responsive to questions and requests for special songs. The mixes and MCing throughout the night was top notch. Our venue, can be tough to corral people for special events throughout the night but she did it with ease. Everyone told us that our wedding was one of the best they had ever been to and a big part of that was Carol and Beledo! Thank you Carol!!!

Oh What a Night!

My partner and I recently worked with Carol to DJ our wedding. She was highly recommended by a close friend who is in the music entertainment industry. From our first call with Carol, we knew she would be the right fit for us. We know some couples who we were recently married who used other DJs from other companies for their wedding. They complained about providing a song list to their DJ, only to have it ignored. Carol made it clear that she would not do that. She listened to our needs and made our priorities her priorities. The music and the food are what guests remember about a wedding, therefore, I had very high expectations of Carol leading up to the big day. Carol understood the assignment and she delivered.

In addition to the recorded music, we wanted some live music throughout the night. Carol found us two amazing musicians, a trumpet player and a trombone player, to play along. All evening, Carol would check in with us to make sure everything was going according to plan.

I cannot recommend Carol highly enough. She is professional, she listens, and she will do everything she can to make sure you have an amazing night.

The Best!!

Carol and Beledo were incredible! Beledo played guitar for our ceremony and cocktail hour and was absolutely perfect! We had some specific music requests and he performed them perfectly! The Very Best Wedding Venue!

Carol Moore was amazing! This year has been really crazy and difficult for us and our families. We changed our date twice and she accommodated us perfectly. We decided to do it in my parents large backyard upstate and invited only our family and a few close friends. Carol really made it work! As stressed as we were, Carol really calmed us down and reassured us. We had the most amazing party. Carol handled everything from lining us up for the ceremony to arranging the introductions our first dance and the toasts and everything for our dinner reception. We don’t know what we would’ve done without her. We were clueless. Her husband Beledo played guitar for our ceremony - I walked down the aisle to a French song Plaisir D’Amour and it was so beautiful that we got teary. For our cocktails he really rocked it! Since we didn’t have a wedding coordinator Carol took care of everything and still played all the songs perfectly. She really read the dance floor great. We can’t thank her enough for stepping in and guiding us through everything and also at the same time being with amazing DJ! Highly recommend she is so sweet.

You’re in good hands

Words cannot express how grateful and husband and I are to have worked with Carol. She is truly one of a kind: she is caring, attentive to your ideas and instructions, thoughtful about the music she selects, flexible, and, above all, and incredibly kind and reassuring person who will quiet any last-minute anxieties you have and make sure you have the wedding of your dreams. When we asked her to make specific edits to our first dance, she did them perfectly; when my mom surprised her with extra speeches at the last minute, she incorporated them seamlessly into the evening; when we asked her to play our ceremony at the last minute, she did, and she did it so well, and for such a reasonable price. Anytime we emailed or texted her, she got back to us immediately. She collaborated with our event coordinator to make sure the evening moved smoothly. She is the paragon of professionalism and kindness, and even some of my friends went to compliment her during the ceremony on the way she paced the evening and kept everyone on the dance floor. From My Wedding in '05 to My Daughter's Sweet 16 in '23

I used Starry Night for my wedding at the Yale Club in 2005. I had such a great experience that I decided to use them again for my daughter's Sweet 16 in 2023! DJ Carol and Beledo are rare gems

We had a modern, Jewish wedding at a historic, upstate New York barn overlooking a creek. We hired DJ Carol and Beledo of A Starry Night Music for our October 2021 wedding, and it was truly the best decision. DJ Carol was punctual and very professional from start to finish: she gracefully talked us through her suggestions, and what to expect from A Starry Night Music, and then left plenty of room for us to brainstorm with her and make requests. DJ Carol truly thinks of every detail which helped put us at ease, so much so that we felt truly taken care of throughout the entire process of working with her. For our Jewish wedding, we had some very specific music requests: for example, we asked that the music for the hora dance (circle dancing) last for about 30 minutes, and start and end with a specific song. Not only did DJ Carol create a seamless process, her DJ skills are so smooth and her choices are so skillful that our hora kept dancing for an hour! While we didn't work as closely with Beledo before the wedding, his flamenco guitar skills are smooth, and highly capable. We asked him to play during our cocktail hour, and were so impressed. Overall, A Starry Night Music received our highest praise, and we sincerely hope that you'll be able to work with Carol and Beledo. We are so grateful for the heart that they put into their music, as well as their grace, professionalism, skill, and genuine hospitality throughout.

Carol was absolutely wonderful!

We are so glad we hired Carol again from A Starry Night Music! We recently had our 10th wedding anniversary. We had used her for our wedding 10 years ago. We brought back the same DJ and photographer. She struck the perfect cord just as she had done at our wedding. Cannot recommend more!

Carol was one of the recommended vendors through FEAST at Round Hill, and I reached out immediately when I saw that her tagline is “No cheese” - the last thing we wanted was a DJ that came with too many bells and whistles. Carol was amazing to work with; she is very sweet and knew our venue so well as she is there almost every weekend. We worked together to come up with a perfect playlist for our music taste, as well as a timeline for all of the formalities throughout the night (speeches, dances, cake cutting, etc.). She was a great master of ceremonies, keeping interruptions to a minimum. The dance floor was crowded all night, and once all of the planned parts of the night were over, I don’t think I left the dance floor for the remainder of the night!

We also booked the music for our ceremony/cocktail hour through Carol. Her husband, Beledo, is a talented guitarist and pianist, and he played for both parts of the day. He was able to play all of our requested music for the ceremony, and during cocktail hour he played a simple mix of guitar and piano that was the perfect background music. My dad and I walked down the aisle to “Sea of Love” by Cat Power, and it was one of my favorite moments of the entire day.

Great choice for both Strings and DJ for our wedding

For our wedding, we hired A Starry Night for both a string trio to start things off and a DJ to end the night. Carol was a delight to coordinate and plan both of these vital parts of our wedding with. She was very knowledgeable, flexible, and communicative. The string trio sounded amazing, easily covered the specific songs we desired, and created a great selection of background music based on just a general vibe we wanted. By the end of their set, we wished we had them stay longer. DJ Marla was great once she took over the music. She wove together our long list of songs we had to hear with a bunch of other fantastic tracks that complemented the style/energy, and kept people dancing and having fun the whole night.

Song Release Party

We hired DJ Carol for a song release party for an up and coming act that I manage and produce. This job required a DJ and MC that could not only set the tone for the evening with great song selection and room-reading skills, but one who could also help to facilitate the sort of tight itinerary that are commonplace with high production entertainment events such as this one. She delivered.

The music volume hit that sweet spot where it was pleasantly loud enough to set the party vibe and keep our guests dancing and in good spirits, but also just moderate enough to allow for personal conversation without ever having to strain to hear or be heard. This consideration for the attendees is such an important intangible. Done right, and you’ll never have to hear complaints about volume. Instead, all we received were compliments and praise about the great music selection; a selection that DJ Carol put together herself.

Another important intangible was the excellent communication about specific requirements and preferences that I had with Carol. She was refreshingly super pleasant, articulate, and accommodating about the details that were required. It was like talking to an ol’ friend who happened to be a seasoned pro, who you honestly just felt and knew would be completely trustworthy. And, this is coming from me, a perfectionist with the tendency to, dare I say, micromanage at times. In other words, when I spoke about the details for this event with DJCarol, I knew that this, DJing, was one less thing that I had to worry about. Priceless.

Best choice we could have made!

Carol was everything we wanted in a DJ for our wedding! Before our big day, she was professional, responsible, knowledgable and flexible - and incredibly supportive - with everything we needed at a busy, stressful time. We felt like she was someone we knew, who cared about making our wedding everything we were hoping for, instead of someone we had just met online. We could tell that she knew what she was doing from her conversations with us and from her emails. As we got closer to the date, she provided even more detailed plans, always asking us about our wishes and making great suggestions. And then she delivered!!! Carol provided exactly the right touches for our ceremony and our reception. She mastered everything seamlessly and had the perfect touch for reading the mood - going from the serious moments to the lighthearted and then to partying. We had so much fun at our wedding and the music was honestly a huge part of it. Carol played the right songs at the right time at the right volume. So many of our guests commented on loving it too. We're so glad we chose Carol and feel grateful to have had her be part of our wedding!

Dancers out early and often!

Best day ever!

Carol is such a thoughtful, skillful, highly professional, and warm DJ. She collaborated with me to ensure that I had the wedding and reception of our dreams. Carol made herself available for calls to plan and to confirm that what she had in mind matched exactly what my needs and wants were. She took the time to get to know us so that she could develop a program consistent with our personalities and our theme. The transitions between songs were seamless, and our guests loved her! I am still getting compliments on the music. I highly recommend Carol for any event. She will make the time magical. Thank you so much, Carol!

Amazing DJ

Carol was such a joy to work with for our wedding! She was always willing to hop on a call to go over our thoughts and playlists. She and her husband Beledo came to set up early and allowed us to enjoy the night and not worry about the music and ambiance. We didn't have a dance floor at our wedding and she was creative in helping us to incorporate music based on the style and mood we wanted to convey. We separated our spaces for ceremony/reception with our cocktail hour because the space had to be turned over, and Carol was able to set up in both spaces without a hitch. She came prepared and was reliable, which was so appreciated during the hectic wedding day!

Fantastic!

Carol Moore was so sweet. When we were looking for a DJ, we narrowed the DJ list down and are so glad that we selected Carol. It was the best decision we made for our entire wedding. An amazing DJ for an amazing price!

Carol was absolutely amazing! Before the wedding, she was very quick to respond to emails and took the time to talk to me on the phone when I had questions. The day of, she came very prepared and was all set up and ready to go plenty long before the wedding began. Carol kept the whole night fun and energetic while reading the room and playing just the right songs at the right time. Nothing felt rushed, and she allowed us to decide when to cut the cake and have parent dances so we could take our time with socializing and not feel as though we were being pulled away from our guests. She had great suggestions for songs when I wasn’t sure what song to choose for the second song after the first dance to get everyone on their feet! Carol was the absolute perfect choice of DJ for our wedding and we cannot recommend her enough!

Absolutely fabulous!

Carol Moore was amazing! This year has been really crazy and difficult for us and our families. We changed our date twice and she accommodated us perfectly. We decided to do it in my parents large backyard upstate and invited only our family and a few close friends. Carol really made it work! As stressed as we were, Carol really calmed us down and reassured us. We had the most amazing party. Carol handled everything from lining us up for the ceremony to arranging the introductions our first dance and the toasts and everything for our dinner reception. We don’t know what we would’ve done without her. We were clueless.

Her husband Beledo played guitar for our ceremony - I walked down the aisle to a French song Plaisir D’Amour and it was so beautiful that we got teary. For our cocktails he really rocked it!

Since we didn’t have a wedding coordinator Carol took care of everything and still played all the songs perfectly. She really read the dance floor great. We can’t thank her enough for stepping in and guiding us through everything and also at the same time being with amazing DJ! Highly recommend she is so sweet.

The Best Wedding Soundtrack!

We had Carol DJ our wedding and she was amazing! She was so attentive to the music my wife and I wanted for the evening, and she knocked it out of the park.

Not only was Carol focused on her work, but she was beyond friendly with us. Carol wanted to be more than just “the DJ,” - she wanted to be an integral part of our wedding. We both felt like she got to know us on a personal level so that she could put together the perfect eveningfor us and our guests.

And the evening was all the more special thanks to Beledo and the other live musicians. We had a trio play for the ceremony and it sounded absolutely beautiful from the processional to the reccesional. It set the mood for the night, and Beledo’s piano music during the cocktail hour was the perfect backdrop.

We can’t say enough about how great Carol and Beledo were. We only wish we could give more than 5 stars!

Wonderful!

Carol did an amazing job at our wedding on 7/25! Due to COVID we had to postpone from May to July, and had to switch venues last minute. Carol was extremely flexible and helpful throughout the entire process. She took the time to get to know my husband and I, so that she knew just what we were looking for in music. Carol's husband did a wonderful job playing guitar during our cocktail hour and assisting her throughout the night. Never did we feel that Carol overstepped or was "too much", like we've experience at so many weddings before with DJs. I would definitely recommend a starry night if you are looking for good music, fun, and kind people!

Kept the dance floor filled with something for everyone

We used Carol and a Starry Night Music for our wedding cocktail party in NYC and what an excellent decision it was too. From start to finish Carol managed to meet all our needs, even when we didn’t know what our needs might be. She was always available via phone and mail and kept the evening alive from arrival to the final getting everyone on the dance floor for the last couple of tunes. We left the evening on a complete buzz and only wish that we had been able to continue into the wee, small hours.

Carol also came to our assistance when a last minute panic meant we were unsure of what was happening with our photographer. Five minutes later and she had a backup for us lined up and waiting in the wings to assist as needed.

Carol was the ultimate professional and not only did we leave the night with our feet exhausted but all our guests raved about the music. There was most certainly something for everyone from the teens to the oldies, everyone was up on the dance floor.

Not only did Carol manage the entertainment but also stepped up as MC for the evening, guiding us through the speeches and celebrating with us. We would not hesitate to recommend her and her team for your event.

Incredible music that kept the party dancing all night long!

Carol was beyond incredible in every aspect of our wedding. My wife left the music selection up to me and I found Carol’s company highly recommended online. And let me tell you she was absolutely incredible, one of the best, most friendly and professional people to work with when we were planning our wedding. We are so thankful for her help and skills at guiding us through the process. She not only played fun music that was appropriate for the time of the party, but she also got the party dancing and coordinated the entire night from start to finish. We had numerous calls with carol and emails and she was always quick to respond and helpful in every way. She even recommended an incredibly talented and tasteful live musician that we added to our cocktail hour. She really made our wedding come to life and all our guest loved and complimented the music choices. I would recommend Carol!

The Most Magical Night!

We researched our DJ extensively. After speaking with DJs we chose Carol and and she was just wonderful! The best decision we made. Easy to work with, really cool to be around, and most importantly, she rocked the party from beginning to the last song of the night. She understood us, and helped us to put everything together from the order of the evening to playing our exclectic song list. She made it work perfectly! The dance floor was packed all night long. Easy to work with

Communication is key to feeling calm before the big event. Carol checks in with you often and is always available to answer questions. She is flexible with the playlist and will honor most last minute requests. We were so happy with Carol that we hired her again to DJ our anniversary party in 2019 with the same results! Carol was not intrusive into the party and her work was essential to its success. Definitely recommended !

Great DJ/musician combo

Carol and Beledo were an indispensable part of our wedding! For our ceremony we chose two songs, which Beledo arranged and played for acoustic guitar. It was incredible, and exactly what we envisioned when we chose our songs. Carol says she wants the events she plays to be "fun, sophisticated, and cliché-free", and that is exactly what we got for our reception. She worked closely with us to make sure she knew what we did and didn't want to hear, including a 'must-play' list, and the end result was a very fun dance-able mix free of cheese and cliché, as promised! We feel very lucky to have found A Starry Night for our wedding. Thanks again Carol and Beledo!

My (now) husband and I thoroughly enjoyed working with Carol and her husband from A Starry Night. Perfect DJ for Us

We chose Carol after searching for a DJ who wasn't ridiculously over the top. Carol knows that for some couples, air horns and cheesy boas and glasses are not at all what we want for our guests. From the very first contact, she put me totally at ease. She is friendly as can be and truly listened to our vision for the music that evening. We were the nightmare client in that we literally provided her with an exact list of the songs we wanted. We left her with no creativity and she didn't complain once. Her equipment was exceptional in that we had ZERO problems all night. The dance floor was packed the entire evening and the volume never got out of control. Everyone said the music was their favorite part of the evening! Wish we could live the night all over again and highly recommend Carol if you are looking for a solidly talented DJ who will only add to the overall experience for guests, not annoy and distract. Sophisticated, knowledgable, and to be trusted

Carol was the DJ for our wedding reception and also arranged for a very talented (and versatile) string trio to accompany our ceremony. It was perfect, from the beginning of the process through the end of the evening. At the very beginning, Carol spent just the right amount of time getting to know us and soliciting our musical needs and preferences, without overstepping. By the time we got to the reception, it was like have a dear friend set the tone for the evening. A Starry Night Music kept our wedding a non-stop dance party from beginning to end!

While planning our wedding, my husband and I knew we were looking for an accomplished and sophisticated DJ that shared our eclectic taste in music and would work with us to keep our special day classy, yet a true celebration. From the moment we spoke with Carol Moore, we knew we had found the perfect match. She respected our requests for specific songs, and was more than helpful assisting us in compiling a list of songs and musicians that combined our tastes, as well as the demographic of our guests.

On the day of our event, Carol and her staff could not have been better. From coordinating entrances, toasts, etc., to providing non-intrusive, shouting-free, friendly, and elegant announcements throughout the reception, she kept the continuity fluid and the energy electric. In addition to honoring all our music requests, she was also able to read the vibe of the room and play the tracks that perfectly fit the moment and mood of the occasion. It was an added and unexpected wedding gift to see all our family and friends dancing into the night.

Carol was fantastic! We kept saying throughout the planning that she was one of the most consistent vendors- very responsive and helpful, asking us the right questions to ensure all of the big things were in place but also not overwhelming us by asking for too much from us. She was very helpful with music selection for our ceremony and she absolutely listened to us and created the exact vibe we wanted without our having to provide her with a play-by play songlist. (Though had we done that, I know she would have made sure to play every song). She was flexible, easy to work with, professional, and fun. She lets the music speak for itself and doesn't make cheesy announcements. Very experienced, knowledgeable, and just a great person.

Carol was amazing to work with for my wedding last week! She was personable and professional, and perfectly executed the vibe and mood we asked for. My husband and I LOVE to dance, and we were on the dance floor every possible second of our reception because the music was great. She worked with us to make sure every detail of our day was right, and was super accommodating of multiple changes, even last minute ones. If you're looking for a wedding DJ that is fun, friendly, classy, and professional (and you want to avoid the over-the-top cheesy club announcer vibe) then USE A STARRY NIGHT MUSIC! She was very responsive throughout the whole process and her work on the actual wedding day was fantastic. My husband and I were pretty hands off with our wedding and Carol understood that and was able to make the ceremony and the reception fantastic. When we set out to find a DJ, we wanted a few basic things. Great music without the loud, overbearing, cheesy, corny antics of a lot of NJ DJ's. Believe it or not, that's hard to find. Enter A Starry Night. They immediately stood out as they billed themselves as exactly what we wanted. We contacted Carol, and she got back to us very quickly. We went through some very basic things, and were convinced that we wanted to work with them. No other DJ we spoke with offered the background and experience, knowledge of music, and pricing that A Starry NIght offered. Music, as with so many people, was very important to us for a successful wedding. Without having seen any of their sets, I was nervous about what to expect. I became more nervous once Carol let us know that she would not be DJ'ing our wedding, and neither would our second choice from her team, Maria. Carol told us Michael would be our DJ, and expressed supreme confidence in his ability to meet our needs. We had our initial conversation with Michael shortly before the wedding, and shared the tone we were hoping to hit during the wedding. Old school Motown, 80's, 90's, and current pop, closing with late 90's early 2000's hip hop and Jersey Club. Throw in a few Spanish songs, and you can see we asked him to mix in A LOT. He was amazing!!! I don't know how he did it, but he hit all areas, and blended it all seamlessly. The dance floor stayed packed, and everyone danced the night away. It was exactly what we had in mind. We're still amazed at how he was able to get it all in. We never met Carol, but will forever be thankful for her help in creating the soundtrack to our wedding (their approach to weddings is truly a niche), and to Michael for executing upon our vision. He was truly a technician with the sound, and an extremely friendly individual. I would choose them 10 times out of 10 if I had to do it again.

From the first time we met Carol, we knew she was easy-going, flexible, and most importantly an experienced and passionate DJ. We chose Carol because she was willing to work with us in terms of our music choices, and our reception schedule. Throughout the whole process, Carol was communicative, willing to work with us, and didn't mind when we had some last minute changes and additions to our song choices. In terms of the music, she did splendidly! She even threw in some remixes of our song choices which we enjoyed very much, and knew exactly when to play what songs. She really can work with all the genres! In terms of the day of - she arrived on time, worked seamlessly with our Maitre'D, and I never had to worry about the schedule of my reception. She also played music for our ceremony and cocktail hour, which were both fantastic as well. Overall, if you are looking for a professional, caring, and flexible DJ, Carol is the person to go to! USE HER!
We had the perfect evening of music. She facilitated every detail of our evenings personalized and complex transitions from the processional, to the varied activities on the dance floor, including the dance instructor for east coast swing, tango and most importantly, our quirky request for 70's disco, gay night club 1980s, and a dollop of contemporary. We knew she was right for us when she immediately downloaded our obscure Japanese chanteuse singing La Vie En Rose for our entry. She was reliable, professional, and experienced at following the mood of the night and fulfilling music requests during the evening. Carol really came through in making the soundtrack of our evening seamless and incredibly festive for one of the most important nights of our lives.

I want to express my deep appreciation for the help and support Carol have offered me on my wedding day. I feel very grateful for all the beautiful music she prepared for us and her excellent string band. Without Carol's help, I doubt I could have such a wonderful and dreamy wedding in such a proficient and professional manner.
We had a few phone conversations, selected play lists, and verified a couple special music selections. On our day, Carol arrived early to set up. The sound was beautiful, the lighting was on point, and the party was so wonderful until the very end! Carol's voice and annunciation were exactly what we wanted. She checked in with us earlier in the day and clarified some pronunciations, reviewed the time-line, and we got comfortable with the rhythm of the events with a mini rehearsal.

Honestly, five stars is not enough -- I need ten!

I had attended weddings where Carol was the DJ and was so impressed with her we booked her for our son's wedding in March 2013. She did an outstanding job that evening and made it a very memorable wedding.

So, this year as co-chair of our country club's 125th Anniversary Ball, I knew we had to have Carol. Our club always has a band so we were breaking with tradition when we decided to go the DJ route. Trust me, there were people who questioned that decision. The result? Carol was absolutely incredible and better than any band we have ever had. Everyone raved about her and said she was so much better than a band! I've never seen the dance floor so full for so long at a party at our club. We had 659 people in attendance and she managed to get every one of them out to the dance floor. Fortunately, we had a huge dance floor because with Carol at the helm, you need a huge dance floor. She played non-stop for 6 1/2 hours and there were many that would have stayed 6 hours more!

Whenever I recommend someone or something to anyone, I always worry that they will not meet expectations EXCEPT when I recommend Carol. She is, quite simply the best, the most professional, and the most spectacular DJ. She made our 125th Ball the best party ever. From our youngest member (age 23) to our oldest (age 99) they all said she was fantastic.

Not only that, but she is so easy to work with. Her ideas about lighting and extra musicians for the dinner hour made the party. She interacted seamlessly with our videographing team and our staff. She gives 110% of herself and personally takes it on herself to make the party great. In addition, she may be the nicest person I have ever met; she makes you smile just to know her.

Bravo, Carol! You are the BEST!

We were looking for a DJ that would manage the sound/musicians for ceremony, set up sound/tasteful lighting at the reception, organize and let everyone know when we were going to do the toasts/special dances and play the music that we wanted to play. We also wanted a tasteful DJ, that isn't blasting music during dinner and too flashy. Carol is that DJ! She comes with much experience and connections we didn't have to worry about figuring out how to hire musicians or how timeline of the events would happen. She takes care of everything and is so pleasant to work with. She talked with us on the phone and also met with us in person. She made everything so easy for us, I would highly recommend her.

We hired Carol and Beledo for our wedding and they both were amazing. Carol was so attentive and went over every detail of the reception with me. My husband and I were married in April 2015. Carol was our DJ and her husband, Beledo, played acoustic guitar for our ceremony and during cocktail hour. Both are amazing and talented people! Beledo can play pretty much anything and was easily able to accomodate our requests for ceremony music. Carol was a joy to work with from the beginning. We provided her with some specific songs and our general likes and dislikes and she played amazing music throughout the evening. Most importantly, she really paid attention to the flow of the evening and our guests' comfort levels. Carol is a real pro and we thank her for her hard work and for keeping the party moving!

Absolutely amazing, we can't say enough good things about DJ Carol.
She was truly a joy to work with, she put us at ease while we were planning. Every time we talked to her, the wedding seemed more manageable and like she would have everything under control.
On the actual day, she set the mood perfectly. We had given her a well curated list of songs to play that we were certain would get everyone dancing - but it was actually a song off the list that got everyone to get on the dance floor. She can really read and respond to a crowd and set the tone for the type of event you're looking for.
On the night of the wedding, there was a torrential downpour just as the reception was starting... For our lovely outdoor patio reception... Carol was set up in the corner under a tent and was getting completely soaked. The management was being less than helpful about rigging up a solution, but through it all, Carol was positive and upbeat and completely focused on the wedding and our reception (she was COMPLETELY soaked through all of this). The fact that she remained so positive infused the reception with a spirit of "this is fun and we are in it together" - we couldn't have asked for a better feeling to the night. She really went above and beyond and was so incredibly professional through all of it.
The pricing was extremely reasonable and she even gave us a 5th hour complimentary.
Absolutely amazing, we HIGHLY recommend her!!!

Carol & Beledo were fabulous. From the moment we met them we were impressed. They did exactly as we asked and provided advice where we needed it. Beledo's guitar playing was the perfect accompaniment for our outdoor garden wedding and cocktail hour and Carol as a DJ provided terrific music for the rest of the reception.

Carol and A Starry Night was AMAZING! We would give her 10 stars if we could!

From our first meeting we knew that it would be a perfect fit. Carol was so sweet and fun to work with - and patient with us - the nervous couple. She was always very reassuring and she really delivered! Her musical knowledge and smooth music mixing was spot on. We gave her our list of songs and she played all of our music at the right times and the dance floor was packed throughout the evening. She filled in the song list perfectly. Also very important to us was that her announcements were very tasteful and articulate, not the typical DJ at the typical wedding.

We had Belado on guitar for our ceremony and cocktail and he was fantastic. What a musician! We took his creative ceremony suggestions and it was so beautiful. During our cocktail hour, many of our guests broke out into applause at the end of a tune.

Choosing Carol as our DJ was the absolutely right decision. She was just wonderful. She made herself available for consultations beforehand whenever I wanted to talk to her (and suggested times to talk so that she could prepare well), she was extremely flexible and professional, her knowledge of music is extremely far-ranging, and she made it clear from the start that our opinions count. She also did a great job as a second (and free) wedding organizer, stepping into the chaos of our wedding and helping the official organizer move us around to where we needed to be, for photos, eating, and dancing. I only wish we had more time to dance (due to our own fault, we started later and had less time than planned), since everyone loved the music. We certainly did not want to leave the dancefloor, and I hope we will have another occasion to hire Carol for more celebrating!

Fantastic!! Carol was amazing to work with in the planning process and calming yet dynamic and rocking on our wedding night. Every single thing flowed perfectly. She was true to our music taste and filled in with great musical choices that kept all of our guests and family dancing the night away. I'm glad I brought a basket of cute flip flops for our girls. We are still receiving huge compliments on how fantastic our wedding was and how great the music was. She could not have been any better she was fantastic!! We can't thank her enough.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Carol from A Starry Night Music. We were able to request and recommend music that we wanted to hear at our event, and Carol expertly mixed our suggestions with some other songs that we didn't even think of. At one point during dinner, "Sailing" by Christopher Cross came on. This might not be a big deal to you, but this was right in line with the kind of music we had specifically asked for. I was moved to go over to Carol's booth and just give her heartfelt thanks for actually getting to know us through our suggestions. Carol Moore from A Starry Night Music is a total sweetheart and an amazing DJ. She had my wedding guests dancing the entire night. You can definitely tell she has a ton of experience doing weddings. My mother's family is Persian and my husband's family Irish and Colombian. When we were searching for a DJ, we were recommended to Carol Moore. She was wonderful! She accommodated our family's very different music perfectly and we danced the whole night away. My guests are still raving about how much fun they had and how great the music was! A Starry Night was amazing from start to finish. Super friendly and helpful during the planning and reliable and professional during the event. My husband and I did a lot of research for our music. We are musicians and know how very important it is. We spoke with several DJs, but the moment we spoke with Carol, we connected immediately. She listened carefully and was so patient with our unusual music requests. She understood perfectly. We loved her eclectic international cocktail music and once our party kicked in, it was nonstop dancing, one great song into the next. She covered all of our generations smoothly and transitioned flawlessly. Our night was magic! Carol was the main part of it. We saw Carol four years earlier at my friend's wedding at Housing Works. The venue itself is such a cool spot for such a good cause (you should check it out). Anyways, she played the Gypsy Kings covering Hotel California and my boyfriend at the time and I looked at each other and thought the same thing: this DJ is going to be the DJ at our wedding one day. Fast-forward three years, and once we got engaged I reached out to my friend for her DJ's contacts. Carol and I spoke on the phone and it was an immediate connection. She is so kind and personable, achieved and good at what she does. Booking a DJ was probably the easiest vendor selection we made in the entire process.

Luckily, Carol had previously performed at our venue, New Leaf Restaurant & Bar. Turns out having a DJ who is already familiar with the space is huge. Even more luckily, she got to meet the frustrating and stressful event director and effortlessly calmed my nerves - even about the non-DJ related things!

Carol asked for a list of must-plays and keeps her promise of playing them all. Her library is extensive, her software is kick@$$. There was no "YO! YO! YO!" or any other screaming by a DJ that my husband and I wanted to avoid. Our guests were so impressed by her and the music she played. She even took requests and got my approval for a request or two that were on my Do Not Play list!

Music was the most important aspect of our reception, even more than the food. Having Carol there means no worries, calm seas. I have no reservations recommending her for any and all events. visit her site - see how accomplished she is. You will be in the best of hands.

Our photographer referred us to Carol and we are so happy that she did! We interviewed three DJ’s and Carol was by far our favorite! Carol was organized, professional, personable, and quick to respond to all our e-mails and questions leading up to the wedding. She made the planning process easy and stress free guiding us through all the music details and aspects of the timeline that we needed to think about.

The day of the wedding she was there early and set up/ready to go on time. She worked well with the staff at our venue (Battery Gardens) to make sure that everyone was on the same page. The night flowed very smoothly and her announcements were succinct and classy (she has such a great voice!). She made sure that everyone gathered around the dance floor for our first dance and parent dances. Carol followed all of our requests and seamlessly added in other great songs. My husband and I were very happy with the music and I had a blast dancing the night away!

We are so happy that we chose Carol and did not end up with the typical loud/obnoxious DJs that try to steal the show. She’s so sweet and easy to talk to. I was the Maid of Honor at my sister's wedding New Year's Day. Once I heard Carol play, I knew that I had to have her play at my fall wedding!

She was so kind, attentive to details, unobtrusive at my wedding, and simply was awesome. I don't think my husband and I danced so much in our lives. Most importantly, she made our night one that we will remember forever. It was magic! We had Beledo play at our church ceremony. He was wonderful. What an AWESOME wedding we had!! carol was brilliant in generating an exceptional mood which differentiated our wedding from all the other weddings we attended.
We were over the moon. We used her string ensemble for our ceremony - they were fantastic, our guitarist Beledo was brilliant. Carol rocked the party from there on. My husband and I were blessed to have Carol Moore perform during our wedding reception. Carol is a warm and caring individual. We were instantly attracted to her down to earth style and knew right away that we wanted her to be our DJ. Carol is truly focused on the couple and we depended on her input for musical and reception ideas. Trying to select songs that would appeal to a very culturally diverse group could have been daunting but Carol made it work seamlessly. Carol was the DJ for my wedding at the Wainwright House and she was amazing. I'm from Argentina and my husband is Canadian, so we needed someone that could seamlessly transition from Latin music to dance hits, (without the cheesy "Celebrate Good Times" songs). Carol nailed it - and we didn't make it easy. We had her transition from a tango to the Hora in such a way that everyone kept dancing. In fact, the dancing never stopped.
Her husband, Beledo, was the guitarist for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and he was equally outstanding. I received so many compliments for his playing, (which is silly because he's the artist, not me!) Beledo's music created a relaxed mood in our open-air cocktail hour.
I'm a picky person, but Carol and Beledo graciously handled all of my requests. Trust them to do their jobs and they'll exceed expectations.

Carol was amazing! She was the easiest and most fun vendor to work with and made the process so smooth and easy from the beginning to end. On our wedding day, she was there very early and helped calm my nerves beforehand. During the party, she rocked! The dance floor was packed non stop. Carol and Beledo were unbelievable to work with. Carol walked us through every step of the music process and kept our guests dancing all night. I danced my entire wedding and was so happy to say that I am one of few brides who really had the opportunity to dance the night away.

All formal details were handled prior to the wedding as per Carol's request so I would have nothing to worry about. She was bale to find even the most unique pieces we requested as our wedding had a fair amount of Soca, which is not the most common style of music.

Cocktail hour was elegant and relaxed with the musical styling of Beledo which helped complete our Old Hollywood theme.

Carol was fantastic! She really knew how to read the crowd and anticipate tastes, while abiding by our requests as well. She was very reasonable and everyone was complementing our selection of our DJ. In NJ where I am from, a lot of DJs steal the show and make it all about them- carol was the opposite. We were looking for a DJ to be seen and not heard and she was professional and low key herself while selecting music to keep the dancing going! Perfect balance!

This is a terribly long overdue review (and thank you) for the absolutely fantastic job Marla did at our wedding reception on October 26th at the Golden Unicorn Restaurant in Chinatown. It was such a pleasure to work with her from our initial meeting through the night of the wedding. Thanks, Marla, for making the process easy, seamless, and fun. I have received a multitude of compliments on the music for the reception, everyone telling me how wonderful they thought Marla was and that the music choices and transitions were perfect. Marla seemingly effortlessly wove together my husband's and my eclectic music choices with complimentary musical selections, setting the tone of the evening, and ensuring that everyone had a fabulous time. Several of my friends are professional musicians, and they were undoubtedly the most vocal in their compliments, saying how great the music was the entire night and how much fun they had as a result.

Many, many thanks to Marla for making our night such an absolute blast!! We couldn’t have been more pleased.

We cannot say enough about A Starry Night Music, they were an integral part of our beautiful wedding. We spoke with Carol who arranged for Michael Abbaticola to DJ our reception, and for Beledo to play piano at our ceremony and free-play guitar at the cocktail hour. Simply put, they were perfect; Carol, Beledo and Michael are wonderful and patient people and were just ideal to work with. Carol was in constant communication with us when we needed, Michael met with us at convenient times to discuss the reception music and made suggestions, and Beledo is a class act and masterful artist who will give you the best live performance you could ask for.

Beledo has an eloquent and stylish presence and played the piano beautifully and perfectly for our ceremony and free-played guitar for the cocktail hour. The way he played the piano was so touching that you could see the emotion being stirred in everyone in the room. We didn't attend cocktail hour but everyone would not stop commenting on what a fantastic performance he gave on the guitar.

Michael was equally terrific as our DJ; he was professional and extremely friendly and easy to work with. He played everything we requested and was extremely knowledgeable on all types and genres of music. The dance floor flowed perfectly and Michael knows exactly what to play and when to play it. His introductions were flawless and he will make sure he goes over them with you to get them just right. The entire time he had a great vibe going on the dance floor and he conducts the announcements with perfect timing and eloquence. He's just an all around class-act and you can't go wrong if he's your DJ.

It really gave us great joy having them as part of our wedding; again, all we can say is that they were absolutely perfect and we give them the highest regards and recommendations. Thank you Carol, Beledo and Michael, for being part of our wedding and making it as perfect as possible!
