Fantastic experience

Cody and Savannah were so easy to work with and the whole team leading up to our wedding day was fantastic! Cody kept us in the loop when things were coming up and he was super flexible when I changed my last song for the night. He called the night before to confirm all the details and I cannot say enough about the quality. My guests have been raving about what fun they had!

Amazing & fun!

So happy we hired ASE DJ! They were all so fun and professional with a lot of experience! AND they had worked at our wedding venue many times before, which was helpful! We HIGHLY recommend the DJ + Drummer combo. Definitely worth the money and it was just all around very cool! A lot of our guests thought we had a whole band there!! :) They were also great with kids since my niece was the only kid there, they provided her with a little drum to play with and she has the BEST time!

So professional and easy to work with!!

Tim and his team were great to work with. The tools they created were easy to use and make selecting a playlist easy. Our DJ Jared kept people on the floor all night and checked in with us often!

They Made Our Night a Party All Night Long!

Cory was our DJ & he did a wonderful job ensuring that the dance floor was full and busy all night long! He helped to make sure that the music was done correctly for the ceremony also!

Cory received compliments from our guests and venue as well for being able to keep the perfect level of music going as well as constantly being aware of what the guests needed/wanted for the party to continue moving! We had so many people on the dance floor all night long!!

Kept the vibe going all night

Our DJ, Dustin, did a fantastic job the day of our wedding. He did a fantastic job MCing the event and making sure our guests were having fun. He also kept the dance floor full all night. Our guests had a blast and it is largely due to how great our DJ was. ASE DJ is ran by two great folks two - Tim and Misty - who are easy to chat with, flexible, and very good at what they do. They helped us put together and refine our timeline and plan for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. They were super easy to work with. We’d highly recommend!

ASE and DJ Cody get an A+

We hired a Special Event DJ for our wedding this July, and it was worth every penny. This is a well-run business. They fit you with a DJ that will work best for your wedding and your vibe. Communication was great. Tim, the owner, answered all of my questions (there was a lot, he actually complimented me on them) in the beginning, and was very professional. Their online portal is a little confusing and I would have preferred to get the forms and download them and fill them out that way, but I found out a little too late. Anyway, they did sound for both our ceremony and reception. Huge shout out and props to CODY, our DJ, who I would recommend to ANYONE and EVERYONE! I swear he was more than a DJ - it felt like he was our night of event coordinator and thank God because my ADHD brain was NOT going to get anything done in the moment (too happy? Too much wine…). Cody was really fantastic. I didn’t know we needed a pre-party phone call because I’m pretty laid back, but it ended up being such a great choice! We got to know Cody (who you’ll just want to be friends with after your wedding), but he also got some things cleared up and made sure he knew what songs to play when, how to say our weird family names, and what kind of vibe we were going for. Night of - I underestimated some of our guests. I thought it was going to be very low key, but thankfully Cody and a few of our more extroverted friends got people on the dance floor. Thanks Cody, for not making too much fun of us slow dancing the chicken dance to “Groovy Kind of Love.” It’s a New Girl reference. We’re obnoxious super-fans…. Not the kind that has t-shirts and wall decor, but who just spends half the day speaking to one another in New Girl quotes. Anyway, I could go on and on, but in short - HIRE THEM!

Absolutely amazing!

My goal for our wedding was to have a packed dance floor the whole night. I was not disappointed! They listened to our song requests and were always very responsive! I cannot recommend them enough!!

Amazing!!!!

We had an amazing time with Dustin, is an understatement. He kept things moving along so well and reacted so well to our group of friends. He called the week of the wedding just to make sure we were on track for everything, which was amazing because we had to postpone our wedding due to covid. He played a great mix of slow and fast songs. The bride and her party definitely took advantage of the microphone and he loved it. Would recommend to anyone who needs a dj!!!!

Fan-freaking-tastic!

This company was such a breeze to work with! First of all, their online tools make everything super easy and help make sure all of your bases are covered! Second, their communication is spot on! I never waited more than a day to hear back on any of my emails. Everyone was so friendly and helpful as well. And third, Jalen was AMAZING!! He was one of the first people to greet us at the reception and made sure we had drinks. He was also helped track down staff at the venue when my husband and I didn't get our meal. To me, those things were not something the DJ was 'supposed' to do so he definitely went above and beyond for us. Then he kept the dance floor packed the rest of the night! When they say their DJs know how to read the room, they certainly mean it! He knew exactly what to play to keep people dancing! Overall, this company was fantastic to work with and would 100% recommend them to anyone!

Definitely recommend!

I absolutely loved everything about working with them - their online portal to make your playlists was so easy to use, I had someone reach out to me multiple times between booking and the event to make sure everything was taken care of, and our dj, DK, was absolutely amazing. Our dance floor was packed all night and I had at least 5+ people ask who was dj'ing because they had the best time. Thank you so much for making our evening so memorable and perfect!!

Better than Expected

When my husband booked the photo booth I was unsure if it was necessary. I was wrong- it was necessary. Our guests loved it and the staff of ASEDJ did such a great job. Don't second guess yourself- just book them!

Awesome DJ service!!

It took us a long time to decide on a DJ (because I was being picky) and I’m so glad we choose ASE!! We had Dustin out of CR and he did a great job. We had people on the dance floor all night long! He was very accommodating and multiple times would discreetly approach us and ask if we were ready for the food to start, first dance, etc. He kept things moving along and dismissed all of our tables for us as well. I love that ASE covers their speakers in the white covers - our first dance photos seem that much more special that I’m not seeing audio equipment in the background! It also helped everything blend into the background more. I absolutely would recommend ASE to anyone!

We used ASE for my son’s wedding and Cody was our DJ. He did a fantastic job. He kept everyone involved and kept the fun going the entire night. I had many people tell me afterwards how much fun they had. I would definitely recommend them.

We hosted our daughter's wedding last weekend, and Josh was our DJ. As always, he did a remarkable job. He is so enthusiastic and always keeps the crowd engaged. I would highly recommend this company and this particular DJ.

Our experience with ASE DJ was awesome! We booked with them late, because our DJ cancelled on us last minute and they were super accommodating and responsive. We were very nervous and the made sure everything went off without a hitch. Our DJ was great and the dance floor was packed all night. Definitely recommend! We used A Special Event DJ for our wedding on 7/22/17. Everything about the entire process was smooth and worry-free, which is nice when you are planning a wedding! Josh R. was assigned to us to be our DJ and we couldn't have been more pleased. Josh called about three days before the big day to touch base and make sure we were on the same page with everything. On the day of, Josh was on the ball from the get-go. He went above and beyond my expectations as he not only served as our DJ but was attentive to our needs, brought drinks to the head table for us, treated me (the bride) to a swing dance, and stepped in to hurry things along when the dinner serving was dragging a bit. I would highly recommend A Special Event DJ to anyone and would certainly recommend Josh as a DJ any day!

Very happy with the service A Special Event Nebraska provided us. We met with Amanda (the owner) to discuss and plan everything. She was obviously an expert and very caring. Our DJ did a phenomenal job. Everybody danced all night! She knew the music to play to get people out there on the floor, and her skills as an emcee were very good! The photo booth was very nice! They had lots of fun props for our guests to use and the pictures were great. We decided to get the LOVE package which meant we also got the lighted LOVE sign. Let's just say it's big and impressive! It certainly made the right statement for our event. We are very pleased with the high level of service that we received and we would highly recommend these guys for your wedding!

We chose ASE Nebraska after they DJed at our friend's wedding and they did not disappoint. We even added their photo booth and LOVE letters to our reception. The planning process was very thorough and straightforward. Amanda was easy to get in touch with and always very responsive to our questions. We felt like she was interested in knowing exactly how we wanted our ceremony and reception to go. She gave great advice about the timeline to ensure things went smooth. Best of all we had a blast! Amanda was AWESOME. She responded quickly, understood exactly what I was asking for and even called me a few days before the wedding to verbally go over everything. The dance floor was literally full the whole night and I honestly spent so much timing dancing the time flew by. Our DJ was professional, on time and knows how to work a crowd and even pronounced everyone's name right which I know they appreciated ! The photo booth had quality props and we loved our memory book. I wish we had used their big LOVE sign but it was already booked. Awesome customer service, terrific DJ, fun photo booth!!

We hired ASE Nebraska because our venue and vendors recommended them. We had a great time and all the guests danced all night. Amanda stayed on top of everything and we learned so much from her tips. Their Love Package was the right choice for us because we got our ceremony, reception, a photo booth, up lighting and a big Love sign all for one great price. What we especially liked is they weren't pushy or making themselves the center of the show, We hate when vendors use a party to market themselves as if we paid them to sell themselves to our guests. You saw no company logos anywhere and no mention of who they were. So refreshing! They truly focused on only us and they worked so well with all my other vendors. So now we have recommended them to several of our friends!

A Special Event was an excellent choice for our wedding! Our DJ and MC was flexible, professional and very fun. Everyone loved the music she played. We had never hired a DJ before and they sure set the bar high. The photo booth was so much fun. And we decided to get the love sign too. We couldn't resist making that sign be the center point of our night. The communication with Amanda was flawless and she always got back to us very quickly when we had questions or clarifications. Very highly recommend :)

First, in case you think this is a review for DJ only, we had not only the DJ services, but also a photobooth, sound system for the ceremony, mics for performers, a projector and a giant LOVE sign. They provided it all!

Our DJ was great and so easy to work with. She was very professional but very easy-going. She had a lot of helpful suggestions and was great with finding some of the off-beat music we wanted played during the reception...think gaming and sci fi themes! She made sure all the special songs/dedications we wanted were done and the timeline was kept.

The photobooth was a great hit with our guests and we had a thumbdrive with all the pics and an album immediately from them. It was great fun to look at the album while we were on our honeymoon. There were some really fun pics captured.

The sound for the ceremony, reception (plus our singers), and the music for the reception were awesome! They did a great job using the music we suggested to build a play list that we and our guests loved. We got so many compliments.

The projector turned out great. Perfectly timed and easy for everyone to see.

The big flourish though was the huge LOVE sign. We'd never seen one at any wedding we've been to and we knew we had to have it for ours. We made the best choice. Everyone took pictures with it and I can't imagine having our reception without it!

Thanks so much Amanda and everyone at A Special Event Nebraska for going the extra mile for us. You made our day!!

ASE Nebraska was definitely the right decision. From the start, Amanda was so easy to work with and available with any questions throughout the process. They have a very convenient online portal to input all your information, and even select songs. About a week to 2 weeks before the wedding date, they reached out to us and run through all the details you submitted online. Our DJ/MC had some great suggestions for us where we could improve the flow of the night.

We also hired their photo booth. Amanda created the designs and matched them to a great backdrop. She gave us 5-6 options that were all so good we had trouble picking one. So she let us pick two designs and switched them out part way through the reception! I know that wasn't easy but she just made it happen with no hesitation or added cost. Both our DJ and photo booth operator did a tremendous job. Multiple guests made comments to us afterwards about how cool they were. Thanks ASE Nebraska for the amazing experience!

We are so happy we hired ASE Nebraska for our wedding! We were super impressed with their planning process where Amanda made it simple and stress free for us while covering everything important and things we never thought of! Here's an example of their service: When it came time to try on my dress my friends and family were all unavailable. Amanda volunteered without hesitation to join me and help out! This had nothing to do with hiring a DJ, but she was willing to be there for me just because it's what I needed! Our DJ was amazing at keeping the party flowing and on schedule. Our dance floor was packed all night! We also hired ASE Nebraska to run a photo booth which was a huge hit! People were taking pictures all night, we got a copy of every picture, and the props were high quality. Thank you to the entire team at ASE Nebraska for making our wedding so special and stress-free!

Who needs a wedding coordinator when you hire ASE! “DJ” doesn’t begin to do justice for all they do. From our initial meeting to the BIG day, Amanda's enthusiasm and attention to detail shined through. She and her DJ coordinated the wedding procession from start to finish. They kept things rolling for our grand entrance, dinner announcements, our first dance, the anniversary dance, toasts, our cake cutting and so much more. When we were stuck on which music to choose or how to release tables for dinner she had a lot of fun suggestions. And they were true to their word. We got uplights at no cost, the speakers were covered (and gorgeous!) and you never knew thier name because there was no company logo in sight! We enjoyed their photobooth. We wanted to use their lighted LOVE sign but unfortunately it was already booked. I can honestly say our wedding would not have been as much fun without ASE. Thanks Amanda and ASE for the wonderful memories!

ASE set a perfect atmosphere for our event. Amanda was extremely easy to work with before the wedding and made sure to understand our style and the theme of our event. During our reception, we couldn’t get people off the dance floor and had multiple guests ask for the playlist because they enjoyed the songs and the evening so much. The dance floor was never empty! If my guests wanted to talk to me, they had to meet me on the dance floor, since that's where I was the whole night! We liked the elegance they brought too. I hate wires and stacks of equipment and ASE tastefully hides them all. That includes no branding anywhere! They focused on us instead of selling themselves to our guests! The photo booth made a nice break from dancing and we liked getting a memory book and flash drive of all the funny pictures. Great company, terrific team, very highly recommend!

Amanda reached out to us right away. There was no pressure and she worked with us to get the right pricing for us and was patient to let us think about it for awhile before committing. We decided to bundle all the services we could including ceremony, reception, photobooth and their big sign that spells out LOVE. Amanda made the process so easy from getting our song list right, designing our photo strip and even picking the right color bulbs for the sign. We decided to make the "L" a different color to highlight my new married name!! We also took her suggestion to make the memory book from the booth be our guest book. We were so pleased with how easy the process was and everything worked as planned. The DJ and photobooth operators were organized, professional and fun.

We used ASE for their Love package. The ceremony was perfect and the reception was so fun. The love sign really gave a wow factor. Photo booth was great. Working with Amanda the owner was like also getting a bonus wedding planner. She helped us so much.

We had a blast at our reception because our DJ ensured everyone was out of their seats. Ceremony music was flawless. The lighting was beautiful as well as the giant LOVE sign. Everyone couldn't stop taking pictures in front of it. It made our wedding different and we'll cherish our pictures in front of that sign! The photobooth was a big hit and we appreciated getting a memory book and how they used quality props. We can't thank Amanda enough for always going the extra step for us. She was a lifesaver!!

We loved working with A Special Event for our wedding DJ. Setting up the timing, song choices, and lighting was easy. We were able to use their lights for our dance floor too, which made our venue very cool once the sun set. The day of, we worked with Dustin Presler and he was AWESOME about keeping the party going and knowing when to jump in with some fun. We've been to other weddings where the DJ seemed like he/she wanted to hear their own voice and this was definitely not the case with Dustin and A Special Event. He was great about transitioning songs and throwing in some jams right at the perfect time. All in all, great service.

We did the slow motion video booth. Guests got to choose 6 photos to print and we got a copy of all the photos and videos! It was a lot of fun. They were easy to work with, very professional and set up early and had a good sized crew there working which was great because we had a large wedding of 350 guests.

we requested Josh for our wedding. He had been the DJ at a wedding we attended prior to ours and he is fantastic all around. i have never seen a dance floor so continuously crowded with people wanting to dance the entire night than our wedding. the whole staff at asedj is very organized and professional they even have an app for planning purposes.

ASE DJ was great to work with! From our first meeting 10 months before the wedding, to losing our venue, and finding a new one, to the wedding, they were simply amazing! After losing our venue, they sent us a document with all of the venues in the surrounding area to help us find another one. Their online song selection and schedule system was awesome to use! It helped us get a base for what we wanted at our wedding. Communicating with Ellie was great before the wedding and she was extremely helpful! A couple weeks before the wedding, we got to meet with our DJ and it really helped us know how things were going to go. They were even nice enough to throw in 2 extra uplights! Dustin was an awesome DJ at our wedding and really knew how to keep the dance floor full and readjust our schedule when needed! I must commend DJ and MC Kelsey who respected the music selections made by the Bride and Groom. I’ve heard this is so often not the case. I was pleased with Kelsey’s provision of a great atmosphere through a good mix of music at a volume that was comfortable for dancers and converationalists...even those seated closest to the dance floor. How often have you been able to say that at a wedding dance?! Kelsey has a personal yet professional, enthusiastic, warm and refined MC style. Here’s and example of her ability to think on her feet: When I suddenly realized where she was going with the couple’s dance, I dashed over to her and explained that the Bride’s grandmother had fallen that morning so could not be on the dance floor. Kelsey knew just what to do. She told me to get her into a wheelchair and get her over there! This beautiful grandmother suddenly found herself with her husband center-stage. There she responded to Kelsey’s questions with grace: they had recently celebrated 60 years of marriage! And, without missing a beat, she shared her advice for a long and happy marriage. The Bride’s grandmother was a beaming. I think we all were.

I visited the Photo Booth only briefly, at my granddaughter’s request, and am so happy I did! I had thought of a photo booth [only!] as entertainment. But it’s also a fun guest book! I highly recommend you choose this option from ASE DJ, too! Worth every penny! I A large booth that holds up to ten! Up-to-date equipment, two efficient professionals, fun mementos for guests, and a very personal and fun keepsake for the Bride and Groom. Well done, Kim and Korbi!

We met DJs from ASE at a bridal show and knew we wanted to book them right away. Their DJs were fun and entertaining just upon meeting them. I really liked using ASE's online tools to plan our reception and create a playlist. DJ Josh did an awesome job keeping things moving after all our speeches and the dance floor was always full. He did a great job playing all the songs we wanted but mixed things up to keep everybody moving. Even the caterers joined in on the dancing fun. Thanks for the awesome party ASE and DJ Josh!

A Special Event DJ and Photo Booth exceeded my expectations for our daughter's wedding. We originally met them at the Bridal Shower held at the Hy-Vee Convention Center, back in January of 2014. We were very impressed and kept their business card handy. When it came time to choose a DJ, the only one we wanted was A Special Event. During the wedding, the music was wonderful and made the whole ceremony an emotional ride for me. During the receptiom, they kept the crowd going and were very open to song requests. Their whole setup was very impressive and blended right in with the up lighting and other decor throughout the venue area. The DJ we had for our wedding was great very flexible with our schedule throughout the evening and played a great mix of music and really stuck to our play and do not play lists.
I do wish the photo booth hours could have been more flexible as we lost about a hour and a half bc it was during lunch the speeches and dances.

Thomas was the DJ for both our wedding ceremony and reception on August 30, 2014. Everything was wonderful! Thomas was a great dj, all the music was exactly on cue for the ceremony and he kept everyone out on the dance floor during the reception! I also really appreciated that he checked in with my husband and I frequently to ensure that things were going according to our plan. I could not be more happy with our choice of DJ!! In addition to everything else, ASE provided our monogram at no cost. We were able to email our own graphic and everyone was very impressed that the monogram matched our programs.

Dylan was an absolutely AMAZING dj. He was everything (and more) we could have asked for on our wedding day. To provide specifics, he "saved the day" by finding music to play for my slideshow after I came to him in a state of panic when I was told the music wasn't working on my slideshow. His calmness set the mood for the rest of the evening and I am so grateful for that! Our guests had such an awesome evening, they didn't want to leave! Dylan was gracious enough to play a few "encore" songs while he was packing up and he received an applause at the end of the evening. I think we had Caleb as our DJ and he did a great job selecting the music and reading what our crowd would like. People were dancing the entire time and he didn't talk too much.

We also used their photobooth which they had someone else working and it was such a hit. One strip the guest got to take home as there wedding "favor" and the other half went into a book where the could write a note. We also got a flash drive with all the pictures on it too. People of all ages enjoyed the photobooth... really glad we decided to do it!

My husband and I were very particular about what types of music we wanted vs. didn't want for our wedding reception. He did a wonderful job keeping the guests engaged and dance floor full. His professionalism was second to none. Very responsive and accommodating to special requests for songs and games. A Special Event DJ helped with a special song request for our first dance and they made the Shoe Game a blast! Our guests were on the dance floor all night long! I would recommend them to anyone!

The dance floor was packed all night! They did an amazing job of keeping the energy up. Very organized and kept the reception on track. Loved that we went over a Reception plan before the big day! It was essential to how great the night turned out. Very professional and easy to work with.

We had ASE for our wedding in October. They were so easy to work with from the beginning! Answered all of our questions quickly, set up a planning meeting with us and were able to locate our special request music. Our DJ was amazing - very laid back and kept us on track - the dance floor was full all night. Highly recommend!

The DJ was AMAZING! Everyone danced right up until the end. People still comment how amazing the reception was. My only small minor non-positive feed back would be that the DJ was kind of quiet so it was hard to hear during some of the specialty dances we tried to do. The guests were not quite sure was going on. Other than that, the DJ listened to requests and played GREAT music and respected my wishes for nothing cheesy. :)

Willis at Special Event DJ was awesome!! He did a terrific job at our wedding reception, played all the songs we wanted, didn't play the ones we didn't. Kept a low profile and was laid back and easy to talk to the whole evening. Just what we were looking for!

My wedding party and reception was huge and we were running way behind on time, but our DJ was super flexible, professional, FUN, and did an overall excellent job. Everyone was on the dance floor the entire night and fun was had by all. Completely unforgettable!

Our DJ, Dan, for our September wedding in Des Moines was AWESOME! Very professional, nice and definitely felt the crowd out to keep the dancing going all night. Dan was even put on the spot with a surprise my dad had for his father of the bride speech and it went so smooth that I thought Dan knew about it going into the wedding. I highly recommend ASE DJ and Dan for weddings!

Im really glad I picked A Special Event to be the DJ at my wedding. They did a fabulous job and I loved their prices. I also found it very comforting that my DJ called me a few days before the wedding just to go over all the important songs and to let me know what her name was and what time she would be there.

Super easy service to use. They listen to your requests and had great communication along the way. A timeline checklist and reminders of things to do next to prepare for your big day was very nice and helpful!

The owner is NOT the actual DJ that will be at your event -- he has several DJs that serve at the events that are booked. These DJs are fantastic, and we had a great experience. But be advised that Tim who you might meet at a convention or expo is not the individual that will be serving as DJ at your event.

The music selection was great. Our DJ was very professional. I wish our DJ had turned up the volume on her microphone when she announced events, most of our guests had no idea what was going on. My husband's Mother didn't even know it was time for the Mother Son dance because she couldn't hear the announcement.

We used ASE Nebraska for our wedding in September and could not be happier with our reception! We used both DJ and Photo Booth through them and people keep talking about how much fun they had at our reception. Our DJ was laid back, fun, and the few hiccups we had the night of didn't phase him - he keep everything moving along and made sure everyone was having fun. We will recommend this company to anyone looking for a great DJ for their wedding!

I can only imagine how busy A Special Event DJ must be in the summer, and on top of that Ellie, their wedding planner, was about to have a baby right before our wedding! Still, we felt like a truly valued customer during the whole process, and Tim was great about jumping in to keep the lines of communication going. ASEDJ's online music tools and template agendas really helped my husband and I plan out our day. We hired ASEDJ for both ceremony and reception services and both Cody and Elijah were very friendly and flexible on the wedding day. We live in Chicago and had the wedding in Iowa, so did not have an opportunity to meet either of them in person, but once they were set up they were ready to go! Cody did a great job of playing a variety of music to keep all ages dancing, and was open to requests while still keeping our do-not-play list front of mind. Our dance floor was full from start to finish and our guests had an incredible time. So fun!

"Josh" did a great job as DJ. He had the dance floor hopping all night and was flexible to take special requests or make announcements when the bridal party or parents of the bridal party made last minute requests. This company had a fantastic lighting system that I don't think anybody else in the area has - really added beautifully to the party environment. We would hire them again for any future big parties.

After much research and talking with several different wedding DJ companies, we selected A Special Event and are so happy that we did. The planning process was made very easy and hassle free. Everything was organized online so I didn't have to worry about it. The night of the event everything went perfectly. We had Dustin as a DJ and he was amazing!! I even gave him last minute requests that he took care of. He had the dance floor packed the entire night! I had many comments asking who the DJ was so they could contact them for their wedding. Everyone had a great time! The photo booth was also really fun. The only feedback I would have for that is to aim the camera up a bit higher so everyone didn't have to squat down. But there was a line for the photo booth all night too. I would absolutely recommend A Special Event to other brides and have recommended them to quite a few people!
