Best-tasting cakes

We were told these folks made the best-tasting cakes in town, and we were not disappointed. We had the Italian cake with amaretto vanilla and strawberry filling. It was so good the only cake leftover at the wedding were the slices we saved for our anniversary! (And my brother almost ate all of that.) I loved this design for our beach wedding, especially our initials in the "sand." They were also able to accommodate putting my grandparents' (very old) former topper on our slicing cake, which we really appreciated!

Best Bakery in town!

A slice of heaven is hands-down the best in Sarasota Bradington. Once we went for tasting, we instantly book them for our wedding. They make the most delicious cake and cupcakes and there is so incredible at decorating. We got so many compliments on their cakes. They are amazing and kind people to work with as well!

Delicious & Beautiful!

If you’re looking for a place with variety of flavours, something beautiful, AND also delicious - you need to get your cake/desserts here! We had a destination wedding and never formally met anyone from this establishment yet the communication was never compromised. The cake, cupcakes, and cannolis were all gorgeous and absolutely yummy. Not one crumb was left at the end of the night.

We were just recently married on May 30 after a postponment due to covid. We started working with A Slice of Heaven Custom Cakes in September of 2019 and we were blown away by how beautiful our 2 cakes were. We ordered a Groom's cake for our rehearsal dinner and our wedding cake from them. The cakes were not only creative, but they were absolutely delicious. We would highly recommend!

Delicious!

Thomas was great! He kept in touch and the cake cup cakes were delicious! I expected to have extras because everyone at weddings always to, but NOPE. I only had about 7 MINI cup cakes left. Everyone loved them! Thank you so much!

Love the creativity

We worked with Sarasota Cakes for our wedding last November. We were looking for something other than a traditional wedding cake. Thomas had really great ideas and we landed on a small cutting cake and dessert cups. The display was gorgeous and exactly what we envisioned. Not to mention, our guests LOVED the dessert cups. The flavor combinations were out of this world. Five stars!!

A very happy bride

I wanted something different than a traditional wedding cake, so I had them make me a cupcake wedding cake. It was beautiful and the cupcakes had different fillings, our guest just loved them! They took their time in seeing what I wanted and were always available to answer any questions I had. I couldn’t be more happier with the outcome. Great experience!!

Exceeded our expectations

My first encounter with Slice of Heaven was at a friends wedding where I fell in love with their cake even though I’ve never been a huge cake fan. From that point on my fiancé and I had only heard positive things about their cakes. I wanted to see for myself so I met with the owner Thomas who took us in even though they had been closed to discuss flavors and options. He was always very understanding and easy to communicate with. He offered great suggestions and my husband and I couldn’t have been more pleased with how beautiful our cakes turned out. Anyone that knows me would assure you of how picky I am but Thomas is so detailed and intricate everything turned out beautiful and even more importantly it tasted fantastic. Thank you Thomas for all of your efforts and talent you truly are great at what you do!

Great experience

They sat down with my fiance and i and went over every detail of our cake. The tasting was awesome as well. There were so many options to choose from and they were there to help choose the best matches with cake, filling and colors. Best experience.

Absolutely go with this vendor! The cake was delicious and exactly what I was looking for! Everyone commented how delicious it was and how beautiful the wedding cake looked. We chose the "Brides on a Budget" option and it was perfect price for $$$$$ taste! 100% would recommend!

My wedding is just around the corner and I had waited a little long to book my cake but Tom was great to work with! I found him through an Internet search. He was wonderfully courteous on the phone and we set up an appointment to try some of their flavors and everything was great. He felt confident that he could give me the exact cake that I wanted and I am so excited to see how it turns out!

My husband and I used A Slice of Heaven for our wedding cake and we could not have been happier. It was absolutely gorgeous and precisely what we asked for. Not only were they able to give us the intricate cushion look that we requested on one of the layers, but it actually tasted as good as it looked which doesn't happen often! And the prices were more than reasonable. We would highly recommend A Slice of Heaven!

This was for a destination wedding and we were nervous about not being able to have a tasting. The cake turned out to be absolutely amazing and we couldn't have been more thrilled with the service and the cake! We are sad to say that the top tier didn't make it back to Ohio. I guess we will just have to have them make us a small cake for our one year anniversary when we go back to Florida! Thank you for everything!

We had 2 cakes - A bridal cake and a grooms cake and both came out better than we could have dreamed! We threw out the ideas that we had for each cake and those ideas became a beautiful reality! Both cakes were beautiful AND delicious!

My catering company, Sarasota Catering, recommended A Slice of Heaven to us. I worked with Thomas and Michelle on both my surprise groom's cake and tiered cupcake tower. They went above and beyond to make my vision a reality. They were quick to respond to all my questions and emails during the wedding planning process. Michelle was so patient through all my indecisiveness and had great suggestions and guidance. The groom's cake and cupcake tower both turned out incredible and I received tons of compliments on them (wish I could share pictures). Whatever ideas you have, they will do whatever it takes to deliver. I'm so happy I went with A Slice of Heaven for my wedding!

We had A Slice of Heaven design our wedding cake. We live in Jacksonville but our wedding was in the Tampa area. We didn't have the time and flexibility to drive back and forth between Jacksonville and the Tampa area, let alone down to Sarasota. We relied on reviews and pictures from the internet to pick our cake. I sent Thomas my cake idea and let him design the cake. I was essentially "blind" to the whole process of picking and designing the cake, but it was perfect. My cake was really one of the biggest surprises of our wedding day. It was exactly what I had discussed with the bakery. The details were perfect and it tasted amazing! We ordered the french vanilla and strawberry and pina colada flavors. It was really one of the best tasting cakes I've ever had. The guests loved it too.

This cake I picked out online as I was traveling from Illinois to Florida for my wedding. I based my decision off the reviews. Reviews were amazing and honestly it was the most amazing cake and most beautifully decorated cake I have ever tasted and seen! It will not dissapoint! Highly recommend this company. My cake was absolutely perfect. In fact, I've never tasted wedding cake this delicious...ever. Received SO many compliments on it... The manager, Tom was super helpful in looking at the big picture during my initial tasting/meeting. He asked about decor, dinner menu, etc. I supplied him with a picture of a cake I wanted too - a 3-tired buttercream-iced cake with simple texture and lemons, rosemary, and lavender adorning each tier. He dissected the cake, wanting to make sure every detail would be exactly how I wanted it.

The cake was everything I wanted...simple and southern. The vanilla buttercream icing is insane...so many back notes of rum and aromatics. The cake itself was CRAZY moist and the lemon curd and lemon cream fillings just took it over the top. I will say it again...this was the BEST wedding cake I've ever had.

I highly recommend this vendor for quality, value, and professionalism.

My wedding was a vintage/Tiffany & Co inspired wedding. I brought in a picture of what I wanted and changes a few little things. When I saw the cake on the day of my wedding I was blown away as to how perfect and beautiful it looked! It's difficult to find a company who can make a cake look beautiful and also make it taste amazing! I was so happy with my cake. They don't use fondant which I like because a lot of places make it too thick. They were able to make my cake look like it had fondant but really didn't. I can go on and on about A Slice of Heaven. Definitely would recommend this place!!!

A Slice of Heaven was nothing sort of amazing to work with. My wife and I ordered cupcakes for our wedding meet and greet as well as my grooms cake from there. The grooms cake was custom and they were so flexible and communicative throughout the process. They even designed our cupcakes in the shape of a bride and groom, which was a special touch for our wedding day. Will definitely order from them again.

Ordered a cake for my daughters wedding from "A Slice of Heaven" and the name truly fit the description of their cake ... it was delicious! They delivered on time, communicated promptly, and were absolutely delightful to work with. We ordered the budget seashell cake and the cake looked beautiful! We ordered our wedding cake through Slice of Heaven for our beach themed wedding. They created an absolute masterpiece with beautiful and edible shells with coral, and a very unique and detailed treasure chest. They even added sharks teeth for us! Everyone loved the look and taste of the cake and wanted more. Tom was very helpful and guided us through the cake design as well as all of the wonderful flavors and fillings that were available. We will definitely be ordering an anniversary cake from them in our future and we don't even live in the same city!

Slice of Heaven made us a picture perfect cake for our wedding. It was even better than we had hoped for!! Tom and Michelle are the best at what they do! They take pride in what they do and it shows! They delivered our perfect cake right on time and took extra measures to be sure it was set up and looked beautiful. It was beyond amazingly delicious and beautiful! Our guests loved it as did we!! This is where we ordered our wedding cake from. I looked on their website & chose the cake that we wanted & went for a cake tasting. They were able to answer any questions that I had. The day of the wedding it was delivered promptly to our wedding venue. It was very fresh! It was beautiful & I got multiple comments on how beautiful & classy it looked.

There are no words to describe the amazing cake that A Slice of Heaven delivered. All of our guests were remarking how beautiful and original the cake was - great design. And the taste was fabulous !!!!!

A Slice of Heaven provided our wedding cake. They did an excellent job! Many of our guests commented that the cake was delicious. They also commented how great it smelled when they walked past it. We went for the tasting and sampled many fillings and two types of cake. We did not have a lot of time before our wedding and we relied heavily on reviews from Wedding Wire. Needless to say the reviews proved to be very accurate. We chose two different cake flavors that we did not get to sample. We were more than pleased with the selections we made. The only negative comment we have is that the box they left for the top cake was too small and the cake did not fit in it properly. Otherwise the cake was beautiful and tasted even better. We highly recommend A Slice of Heaven as a wedding cake provider.

Look no more! You MUST use Slice of Heaven for your wedding cake! I did a wedding cupcake tower with top tier cutting cake and it was well within my budget. I also must have changed our design at least 4 times and they had absolutely no qualms about it. Our cake was beautiful and even better than what I envisioned. And even though we didn't do the now popular fondant (which doesn't taste that good), the cake was smoothly and flawlessly covered and decorated.

But most importantly it TASTED LIKE A SLICE OF HEAVEN. We did french vanilla with house buttercream and strawberry filling. Even those who don't typically eat cake or like wedding cakes LOVED it.

Slice of Heaven was recommended to my husband and I by the jeweler who sold us our wedding rings, so we figured we'd try them out. Went in for a tasting (chocolate and vanilla cakes with about four different fillings and icings) and the girl who helped us (I feel awful I can't remember her name!! It's on our order form but alas we are away on our honeymoon!) was really patient with our uncertainty. After tasting, we knew we liked their cake and were just not sure on a design. She spent a good hour or more with us explaining everything we needed to know. In the end we decided on a variety of mini cupcakes and a two tiered cake decorated to match our rustic fence invitations. When I picked it up - it was perfect! Better than I had imagined. Once we cut into it at the wedding, people couldn't stop praising it and asking where we got it from because of how delicious it was!! Definitely will be recommending them to all my girl friends who have recently become engaged - and of course going back myself for all future special occasions! Thank you Slice of Heaven!!

I found a picture of the exact cake I wanted online. I gave a copy to Slice of Heaven and on my wedding day, there it was, looking exactly like the picture. It was really beautiful and they do impressive work. Also, their cakes are buttercream, which is a huge plus with us. They still did a lot of intricate and artistic pipework with the buttercream and it tasted so much better to me than the typical fondant cakes at weddings! A slice of Heaven is definitely the best place to get wedding cake! They did our four tier wedding cake with each layer being a different cake type, and cupcake favors. Everything was so awesome! We had more than 60 extra large rations than we needed when we bought the cake, and it was all devoured. Our guests are still telling us how awesome our cake was! Thank you so much! They also did a beautiful job in the design of our cake. They did our wedding flowers cascading down the cake which was beyond perfect!

The seashell, 3 tiered cake, chocolate fudge flavored was over the top delicious. They delivered the cake to our reception restaurant early enough for set-up. It was absolutely gorgeous! Thank you!!!

The cake was fantastic! It was beautiful, tasty, and huge! Delivery was very satisfactory. The consultation was a lot of fun even though I was somewhat disappointed they only offered two cake flavors for sampling. We did end up picking a flavor from the case that was so yummy (key lime).

Could not have been happier with both the groom's cake and wedding cake that A Slice of Heaven made for us. Both cakes were designed based on pictures and one was ordered via e-mail (destination wedding). They responded very quickly and were very thorough in ensuring that they knew exactly what I wanted, and produced two beautiful, DELICIOUS cakes. All of our guests raved about both cakes - looks and taste! The cake is very moist, the filling choices are plentiful and all very yummy, and the buttercream icing actually tastes GOOD (unlike most wedding cakes that use bitter fondant). You will not be disappointed if you go with A Slice of Heaven!

A slice of Heaven did a fantastic job on our cake. I had them make a few changes by adding my own cake stand as well as using real flowers from a local florist and and they made it work. They were very attentive and the price was great! I highly recommend them!!!

We went into our appointment knowing what we wanted the cake to look like. Our cake was incredible. I can't say enough how happy I was with the cake, it was perfect. Our designer was Michelle and she did an amazing job. The cake looked to beautiful to cut it and eat it but we did and it tasted just as amazing as it looked. Our guests loved the cake they thought it was beautiful and that it was delicious. Every detail that we wanted on the cake was there. We decided a little late in the game to have a cake at our wedding and A Slice of Heaven was more than accommodating. Not only was our cake delicious but it was beautiful as well. We used slice of heaven for our wedding cake. The cake was delicious and moist. The delivery was prompt. The tasting was great and I felt like the employees were attentive to what we wanted. I called them on our first anniversary to get a replica of the topper. I think that we might end up doing that every year! It was true to the original and super fresh! We had met this vendor at a Bridal show along with a few others. Just when we thought we had chosen our cake vendor, we heard some rather disturbing information about them which led us to A Slice of Heaven! We made an appointment to do a cake tasting, they were very flexible with their schedule as they worked around my work times! When we arrived, there was a plate ready for us with several different types of cakes and fillers...wow! We tried them all and left them a deposit to hold our date!! I provided them with a photo of the cake we wanted, gave them our florist name (we had flowers on the cake), dropped off our topper and anxiously waited until our wedding. Amazing...the cake was amazing, beautiful...just what we wanted!! Our guests were very excited at the flavors and complimented on how beautiful the cake was. We will use this vendor in future as well as recommend them to others!

We used A Slice of Heaven for our after ceremony cake. Michelle was great. I emailed her with a picture of the style of cake I wanted along with a picture of an actual shell for the colors. She was able to make the cake the way we requested. The flavors were amazing and the cake looked beautiful! At the restaurant we had our dinner at they were able to put it in the cooler and brought it out for us when we were ready to cut the cake. I would definitely order another cake through them again. I had no idea where to get a cake because I was from out of town. I went into their shop months before the ceremony and tasted cake and let them know what I was wanting. The cake at the wedding was even BETTER than I remembered. All of my guests went on and on about how it was the best wedding cake they had ever eaten, and I would agree. They are still talking about it :) And for the amount of cake we got, the price was great. Not to mention it was decorated perfectly. I would not only recommend Slice of Heaven, but I plan on going in their and buying by the slice next time I am in town :)

Planning a destination wedding can be very difficult especially when you want it to be as close to perfect and magical as possible. From Pittsburgh, we planned my daughter's wedding in Siesta Key, FL, the No. 1 beach in America! After choosing a wedding planner and caterer, we scheduled a taste-testing event for choosing the menu. At that time we did not get to visit bakeries in the area. Since the wedding cake is one of the highlights of the wedding, I began searching and researching numerous bakeries in the area, from their websites to their reviews to recommendations from our caterer. There are many wonderful bakeries around the Siesta Key/Sarasota area, but my final choice was A Slice of Heaven. I am so thankful I chose them. When I called to order the cake, we had thought we put together the right combination of cake/filling/icing/design. Boy were we mistaken! We followed the suggestions and recommendations given to us, and now the stress began hoping the cake would be good. Well, it was absolutely fantastic! I received so many complements how beautiful the cake was, and when it was served, all you could hear were oohs and awes! Thank you to the staff of A Slice of Heaven. What a cool, funky place A Slice of Heaven is !!! Our wedding cake was simple but elegant, our Floral Designer made suggestions for the vision of our cake & she worked with the owner & it turned out amazing. Slice of Heaven was the perfect pick! From the moment we had our tasting they were great. Thomas was super friendly and accommodating. They created the cake I wanted. It looked beautiful and it tasted delicious and was very moist. I got many compliments on how good the cake was. They suggested doing a three tier cake and then a sheet cake, which helped save money. We got to pick four flavors. My guests loved each flavor, I only wish I got to try more of the cake, but I was too busy dancing.

They also had different cake stands to choose from. Our cake looked beautiful and tasted fabulous!! We received many compliments from guests. A Slice of Heaven did an absolutely FANTASTIC job for my niece's destination wedding. The "Edith and Archie Bunker" cake was a HUGE hit and the beach theme cake was absolutely stunning. I got married on 3/26/11 and used A Slice of Heaven for my wedding cake. I'm so glad we chose them as our vendor. We had a beach design with seashells and sand. We got the raspberry filling and chocolate mousse as a layer and also key lime cake with key lime mousse. Both were a big hit. Our Slice Of Heaven Brides On A Budget Cake was great and so tasty. We chose the vanilla cake with European raspberry filling. A Slice Of Heaven gave us the option to provide flowers for our cake but I could not decide whether I wanted to or not because I liked the simplicity the white cake with white icing dots. I waited until about an hour and a half before the ceremony to decide I wanted to add flowers and the gentlemen who delivered the cake came prepared and beautifully placed the flowers I brought. Our guests loved the cake and we will definitely order A Slice Of Heaven cake for our anniversaries.

A Slice of Heaven did an amazing job with my wedding cake. I had a difficult time at first trying to find someone who could do a cake with red frosting without using fondant. They did the entire cake in red buttercream frosting, only using fondant on the stripes and polka dots. This was a life saver considering that most people hate the taste of fondant. The cake not only looked awesome but tasted delicious! We were extremely happy with their services. They were quick to respond to all of my emails too which was great because I was planning my wedding in Sarasota all the way from Denver so email and phone were my only real options. I would highly recommend their services for your next event.

FABULOUS!!!!!! The cake was spectacular looking and was more than I had even dreamed about. As a local catering diretor I see lots of wedding and event ckes throughout the year, but "Slice of Heaven's" are always the best. We had a small wedding with just family and a few select friends. The cupcakes were perfect to bring to our luncheon after the ceremony. They were beautifully done and were absolutely delicious. It was the perfect choice!

They had so many cakes to choose from and so many flavors, picking the cake was the easiest part of my wedding! They knew exactly what I wanted and they made it perfectly! It was a nice surprise when I got to the reception and saw the finished cake. All my guests complimented the cake and raved about the key lime layer!

Our wedding cake was beautiful! We received absolutely wonderful comments from our guests! My husband and I wanted something simple, elegant, and delicious. A Slice of Heaven was a delight to work with from the first meeting to the flawless product they delivered to our wedding. Every detail was perfect from the appearance to the moist delicious cake. I would not hesitate to reccommend A Slice of Heaven to anyone in the Tampa Bay area who is in need of a special occasion cake. It was B-E-A-utiful, and so incredibly delicious. People are still (2 weeks later) talking about the look and taste of our wedding cake. :)

We loved, loved, loved our cake from A Slice of Heaven! We ordered a cake from their 'Brides on a Budget' line and it was wonderful. Very cost-effective and also TOP QUALITY. They did a great job with it and even personalized the fondant ribbon on top to match my wedding color, which wasn't advertised on their website as an option, but was definitely a nice surprise when they offered it to me. I also didn't know ahead of time that we could choose different flavors for the top and bottom tiers and was glad for that as well. The cake was delicious -- especially the buttercream frosting. We received many compliments at the reception from our guests on the cake. Great job! I would recommend them highly!

We are from Ft. Worth and had to pick our wedding cake by looking online. A Slice of Heaven was perfect! It was great having so many pictures online to help get ideas for our cake. Stephanie was very helpful over the phone on designing the cake. We combined ideas from 4 different cakes. The cake was exactly as I had envisioned. We loved it! Of course we were nervous that it wouldn't taste as great as it looked. How wrong! It was absolutely delicious. The first tier was lemon with lemon mouse filling and the second tier was french vanilla with raspberry filling. They were fabulous! All the guests raved about how yummy they were. Needless to say we were lucky somebody grabbed us a couple of pieces to take back to our resort with us :) We highly recommend A Slice of Heaven!

Michelle and Tom are the best. We had two cakes and they were both AMAZING. We live in Boston and were a little nervous with cakes we never tasted but they were fantastic! They did a great job with the main cake and the grooms cake (Boston Red Sox hat sitting on grass) looked awesome too. It's not every wedding where the cakes look AND taste good, but they exceeded my expectations. Follow their advice if you're looking for ideas, they know their stuff!

We walked into our appointment at A Slice of Heaven with a picture from a magazine that required a keen eye for detail and alot of experience in cake design. They delivered a cake that was perfection and every bit as delicious. We were so pleased and so were our guests...even when we added more than originally expected, they were able to accomodate.

Our wedding cake was fabulous! We wanted to go with a beach theme since we were planning a destination wedding on Long Boat Key in May. Since we live in Maryland we were a little nervous just picking any vendor for our wedding cake. Tom at Little Slice of Heaven was so helpful and really put us at ease. The wedding cake was awesome! It was made exactly as I wanted it with shells, starfish, and the pansies that I requested. And unlike other wedding cakes I have tasted in the past, it was the most tasty cake ever! We even had it for breakfast the next day before we left for our honeymoon! I highly recommend Little Slice of Heaven...They are friendly, professional, and make a fabulous cake.

A Slice of Heaven did a wonderful job on both of my wedding cakes. We ordered two cakes from them. One was a beautiful butterfly cake with pink and green design to match my bridesmaid dresses. It was a delicious flavor of coconut with pina colada filling. The second cake was a WVU (West Virginia University) blue cake for the groom's cake in the flavoring of vanilla with strawberry filling. We had to order online due to living in WV and the wedding was in FL. They did a wonderful job and the cakes were exactly what I asked for them to be. Excellent job and I highly recommend them for any occasion.
