  * hiring alana + team was one of the few wedding decisions this picky bride actually got right *

  Never in my whole life have I been so happy (obsessed) with my hair + mu.
  
  PROs:
  
  Honestly, I already knew Alana was amazing because she came highly recommended by my very trusted friend (who is even pickier than I am). What I did not know was that she is also chill + cool AF. She was literally like part of the crew, and I was sad when she had to leave.
  
  So to start: let me tell ya, being half Korean has made for some *pretty gnarly* eye makeup situations. People just don't know how to deal with small hooded eyes. I don't even know how to do my eye makeup tbh. Luckily, these ladies are TRUE ARTISTS. I seriously looked fly AF.
  
  My mom and bridal party also LOVEDDDD Alana and her team. This is good because I absolutely would not have been able to deal with any b!†ching on my WD.
  
  And no lie, after a full night of dancing/sweating, I was *SHOCKED* to look in the elevator mirror and see that EVERYTHING was still 100% intact! Like...how is that even possible? !!
  
  CON:
  
  From here on out, it will be IMPOSSIBLE for me to have a good attitude when getting my hair + mu done by anyone other than Alana + team. No one will ever measure up. I am already having (major) anxiety about a wedding I'm in and anticipate having to remind the bride how much better Alana was than the people she booked.

  Exceptional service!
  The ladies were very sweet, professional and thorough. Communicated with me quite a bit prior to appointment date and helped me achieve my ideal hair and make up look for my wedding and style!

  Best wedding hair and makeup experience!!!

  Alana and her team are absolutely incredible! From first meeting her, she made me feel so confident about my bridal hair and makeup. She let me send her pictures of looks I liked, and even suggested products for me to prep my skin leading up to the big event. Then on the wedding day itself, my bridesmaids and I had so much fun getting ready with her and the team. She made everyone look stunning, and I am obsessed with my final look. I could not recommend her enough!

  The Perfect Hair and Makeup Salon

  Do yourself a favor, and book A Salon for your wedding! Alana was hugely helpful from the very beginning. There were several changes made to my wedding party, and Alana handled it all easily and graciously. She was professional, fun, helpful, and made me and my bridesmaids feel absolutely beautiful. 10000/10 would recommend!

  They executed my bridal look perfectly

  The team at A Sa.lon were incredible. I had a lot of asks from, I don't wear a lot of makeup so I want makeup but kinda want a natural look... to... I want an I dream of Jeanie meets Ariana Grande ponytail for the daytime shoot but want to be able to take it down myself and add a veil a-la Priscilla Pressley for my evening shoot. They were able to knock all these requests out of the park and make me feel so beautiful on my special day. I've had professional makeup done several times in the past and have always felt like a clown in that makeup... not this time!!! 100% would recommend!!!

  Best decision!!!

  Amy was amazing - she immediately felt like a friend and met me at my AirBnB for my trial. She was open to my preferences and gave amazing advice. She even gave the groom some advice to help with his persistent cowlick, and he looked SO good on wedding day!!! She followed up after my trial to see how my hair held throughout the day and made plans for adjustments to get it just right on wedding day. During getting ready time the day of the wedding, Amy was a calm in the storm. I’m so grateful I was able to book her! 100% recommend

  A Salon is amazing

  A Salon Santa Fe is the absolute best! I had the joy of working with Alana and Amy - a dynamic duo of women - for my wedding. Alana worked her magic for my engagement photos. Everything was beautiful.
  
  I knew what I wanted for my engagement photos, but I really didn’t know what I wanted for my wedding other than a natural look. We came around to this topic and Alana immediately suggested looks or options that would complement my dress, as well as fit my personal style. She suggested a few search terms to generate inspiration photos that were helpful. I was previously overwhelmed trying to find inspiration photos - I had given up. A Salon is masterful at the elevated and natural look but inspiration photos help narrow down to the look you want.
  
  Amy transformed me as part of the wedding trial. I was prepared with inspiration photos but I wasn’t really sure it was a coherent example. Amy immediately figured out the look I was hoping to achieve and exceeded any hopes. As part of the process she inquired on my perspective on lashes. I had no experience with them and only fears, so we gave it a shot. She was right. They looked natural and were not bothersome, even with contacts. We knew exactly what to do the day of by the end of the session. As a secondary check, I kept my makeup and hair for the rest of the day. I wanted to make sure everything held without reaction and felt normal. My now husband said that I was beautiful and still looked like me, which was important. Amy nailed it.
  
  On the day of the wedding, we had so much fun with Amy. She worked with me and two other ladies. She brought such a warm and positive energy to the day, and felt like an old friend to each of us. We LOVED her. And, she continued to work magic. Hair that never holds a curl did so for the entire night. She listened to preferences and concerns about makeup. And, when there was a request for just a little more, she agreed with the decision (hoped it would be the case) and gladly added just a bit more elegant drama.
  
  Our photographer arrived early, commenting on threatening weather and, if possible, getting ready ahead of schedule. Amy was super positive and calm with this request. We were ahead of schedule but I followed her lead stress about this change in plans. Our time continued to be relaxed, easy, and super of laughter; I wasn’t concerned or stressed.
  
  In the end, I was the most beautiful version of myself. I was confident. I was empowered. I was calm. I cannot recommend Alana and Amy or A Salon enough. They are fabulous humans and exceptional at their craft. You’ll look and feel like the best version of yourself with this team.

  Perfect Experience with Alana

  I could not have asked for a better experience with Alana's team. My makeup was absolutely beautiful. We did two totally different looks for the wedding and the reception and Alana's team nailed everything perfectly. I could not recommend her more for your wedding/ event. Plus, she is so friendly and wonderful!

  Amazing hair and makeup

  Alana and her team are simply the best!! They did everything I asked for plus made adjustments with ease if I wanted something different for hair and makeup. She was always on time, always quick to respond and makes you feel SO beautiful. So easy to talk to- always makes you feel comfortable. Can’t recommend a salon enough!!

  Amazing experience with A Salon!

  The owner, Alana, was extremely easy to work with from beginning to end, and our actual day-of service from Ambra and Amy was incredible! They were such a fun addition to our day and every single person in our bridal party was ecstatic about how their HMU came out. Highly recommend!

  Vow renewal

  I hired A salon for a 25th wedding vow renewal in Santa Fe, both Amy and Ambra were incredible! They were extremely friendly and kind- and they were very good at what they do! The perfect blend of professionalism and friendliness! I highly recommend.

  So talented!

  Alana and A-Salon provided stylists for my wedding day. We are from out of town and stayed in a casita for our celebration week. Amy and Ambra came to our casita and were wonderful from beginning to end. They listened to my hopes for my makeup and hair and it turned out even better than I imagined. They were professional and fun. I would highly recommend Alana and A-Salon for all special occasion styling needs.

  Alana was the best! I wanted a natural yet enhanced look and that’s exactly what I got. I had no idea what I wanted for my hair and she made a recommendation and it looked incredible. I received so many compliments and our photos came out great!

  I cannot recommend Alana and her team enough. She listened to every word I said, and helped bring my vision to life in a way I never could have alone. Alana helped style 13 bridesmaids in addition to making me look more beautiful than ever.   I cannot recommend Alana and her team enough. She listened to every word I said, and helped bring my vision to life in a way I never could have alone. Alana helped style 13 bridesmaids in addition to making me look more beautiful than ever. Her team was on schedule the entire time, it was stress free, and fun to have them as part of the getting ready time. Do yourself a favor and hire Alana.

  She made me look beautiful for my husband to be!

  Very open with communication, flexibility is awesome with how many times I changed my mind. Even more awesome she came to.me on time and prepared for anything. I would totally use her services again if needed! Her work was spot on. Everyone thought I was beautiful.

  Lovely experience

  A Salon did hair and makeup for my wedding, for myself, my bridesmaids, and my mother and mother-in-law. Amy was the one who did my hair and makeup and I loved it. Alana was previously committed to another event on my wedding but she was great to work with in the scheduling/coordination. They did a great job and made us all feel so beautiful! They were very professional while still being fun and bringing great energy to the wedding morning. Would definitely recommend!

  Disappointed

  I arranged to hire Alana for my smaller wedding in October. When it came time for my hair and makeup trial 3 months before the wedding, things suddenly changed and she was unable to keep her word/previous arrangements for the trial. She told me she would only do the trial at my expense and blamed COVID. Stating it was not worth it for one trial for one bride. Then, after a few emails back and forth, she suddenly had an "emergency surgery" set for my wedding day (keep in mind my wedding was 3-4 months in the future at this point) and said she was unable to do my wedding at all. If you want to be valued as a bride and trust your hair and makeup vendor, I do not recommend Salon A Santa Fe. Very unprofessional and added stress no bride needs.

  I have debated responding to this- because of all of this misleading truths.
  But because my surgery was outed without my concern or consent I feel the need to respond.
  I lost my space after Covid, and then made the choice to be a mobile salon- and being that your wedding was over 2 hours from Santa Fe, and you wanted a trial I did look for a space to help you but because of covid there was nothing, it should not be at my expense for your trail run for your wedding day.
  That I was hired to do.
  If you have a wedding far from where you hire people, it’s not their responsibility to pay for your trial run. It is yours.
  You wanted me to pay for a hotel room so that you could have your trial- that is not how I conduct business. I have never been asked to do that and I was shocked.
  I did have to get emergency surgery on your wedding date , I did offer to have someone else do your wedding, or help you find someone- you told me my services would not be needed and then wrote a very unfair review and outed my very personal surgery. Something that is against my hippa rights and was very personal and traumatic for me.
  I love what I do, have amazing relationships with my brides- and am so thankful to do what I do.
  I never actually worked with you, and because you didn’t get what you wanted with me paying for a hotel room for you to do a trial you wrote a very misleading review.
  I hope that you had a good wedding. I also hope you don’t out peoples personal business the way you did with me. It was very hurtful.
