A perfect Ceremony

We want to thank Robert Griffen for the superior job he did officiating our wedding in July at East Fork Country Estate. At our initial meeting, he put us at ease providing a variety of suggestions for our non-denominational service. Having formerly been a wedding photographer he even provided some professional tips that we were able to apply when choosing ours. His wit and humor helped put all of us at ease during the actual ceremony and made it a memorable experience.

Grif was awesome!!

We live outside the Portland area and Robert was available via phone for a "phone introduction." We were able to tell him when and were to be for our wedding and he was there. It was wonderful to be able to rely on him so easily. I also forgot to bring our wedding license to the wedding venue and he was kind enough to meet up with us the day after our wedding to finish signing our marriage certificate. Hands down, Griff was awesome and very helpful.

Robert 'Griff' Griffen was an amazing officiant. He was very professional and understanding. He also has vast knowledge about the history of wedding ceremonies, which made conversation very interesting. The prices are very reasonable, and his communication skills are excellent. He was very quick to respond to any messages and arrived at the venue on time. I would recommend him for any ceremony as he does both religious and agnostic ceremonies. Griff was a amazing and thank you!

Griff was the perfect choice for our daughter's wedding. At our rehearsal, his light hearted sense of humor and experience officiating weddings helped to put everyone at ease. Reverend Griffen was a pleasure to work with and was very flexible with incorporating parts of the ceremony that were important to us. It was important for my husband to have a religious ceremony, however, I did not want it to be overly religious. Reverend Griffen listened to our needs and wants and the outcome was a beautiful ceremony that encompassed everything my husband and I were hoping for.

Robert could not have been a better choice for us. We would almost go so far as to say that it was divine intervention that brought him into our lives. He is extremely laid back, but entirely professional at the same time, which was a great fit for us. He was great at lightening the mood and was a pleasure to around on our wedding day. We both lived in different states and Robert was very accommodating to my schedule when I came in from out of town. Our day went off without a hitch (no pun intended) and we have Robert to thank for being a large part of that. We could not be happier with our choice. Not only did we have a first rate officiant, I believe we gained a lifelong friend as well.

What a pleasure Griff was to work with! We enjoyed his sense of humor and calming nature. My friend recommended him and I am pleased she did. Griff helped keep a busy and stressful day on track and calm. The entire wedding party and my parents all later said to us "We really liked Griff", he was great. You won't be disappointed :)

Best officiant one could have as a part of your wedding. He was so kind, funny, professional and amazingly skilled at taking your ideas, keeping them exactly the same as you want but making them perfect. He couldn't guarantee being at our rehearsal Friday before the wedding on time due to another rehearsal and there he was, ready before I even was ready to start (the bride)!! We have big families and big personalities and he was able to laugh and joke with all of them, along with being able to focus them all too! The rehearsal went well and the wedding was magic! Griff made a suggestion for part of our ceremony that we weren't too sure about and it ended up being our FAVORITE part of the ceremony. If you want a memorable, beautiful wedding have Griff be a part of the ceremony.

Rev. Griffen met with us a couple times before the ceremony to make sure he was capturing everything we wanted. He was very responsive to my e-mails and flexible when I would change things up. He was very open to incorporating some Mexican traditions. He gave us advice and was willing to coordinate the ceremony for us since we did not have a wedding coordinator. He came well prepared and on time. I had a great experience with his service.

Griff knows how to run a smooth and beautiful wedding. He is a professional guy who is on-time, responsive, friendly, and experienced. I say this in a business sense, but Griff is a great speaker and presents the entire ceremony as sacred, and fun. Most of all, he takes care of all the little details so you can save your brain, but leaves everything open to how the couple wants it done.

My wife and I found Griff through a mutual reference, but we had the chance to share a handful of dinners and meetings together. I'd recommend that you meet and talk with any potential officiant extensively before choosing one. We are both glad to have Griff join us as husband and wife.

We had a last minute scheduling conflict with our first officiant and Griff was so amazing to step in and give us a beautiful ceremony.

He is a true professional and was very knowledgeable about how to bring our special day to life. He met with us beforehand and let us have a lot of say about what we wanted from our ceremony but also gave us really good advice about what we should do. Griff has done many weddings and knew how to help us create perfect picture opportunities so we could have a lot of great memories. Although we only began working with him a few weeks before our wedding, he was able to tailor our ceremony to fit our needs and exceeded every expectation we had.

Multiple guests mentioned that it was the most beautiful ceremony that they had ever attended. Griff has a great personality and is very easy to work with. We highly recommend him to be your officiant!!

Griff was WONDERFUL! He made our wedding ceremony so beautiful and special! He made sure everyone in the wedding party was comfortable and walked us all through the ceremony! He practiced vows with the bride and groom, which was so helpful! As soon as I met him, I knew he was perfect officiant for us! The groom is a marine and didn't not get into town until a few days before the wedding, and Griff was still able to find time to met us before the dress rehearsal. I would recommend Griff to anyone, he truly is the best!!

Everything was really easy for us, because Mr. Griffin really knows what works well in different situations because he has done so many ceremonies. Everything went perfectly because he gave us great training at the rehearsal, which didn't even take long. He offers a lot of different options, too. We were really happy with the job he did and would definitely recommend his services to anyone planning a wedding.

Griff is a gem. With his helpful guidance and suggestions we were able to create a ceremony tailored specifically to us. He was very open to our customizations and truly cared that we were happy with the end product. Griff was very professional and personable throughout the wedding day, even going so far as to step aside during our first kiss making our pictures perfect. After researching several officiant's online, we received a high recommendation for Rev. Griffen from our day-of coordinator, Creations by Ly.

We set up a meeting with Rev. Griffen at his favorite chocolate/coffee spot (Moonstruck Café). He was very warm and friendly. He made us feel very comfortable and we discussed different aspects of the ceremony and how we envisioned it going.

He was responsive to all questions/inquiries via email. I sent him our selection of readings, blessings, vows, ring exchanges, that we decided upon, and he put the entire ceremony together. He arrived at the rehearsal as scheduled and provided some joking commentary to make everyone feel comfortable and light hearted. He had pre-printed card stock with the readings for my bridesmaids and the vows for my fiancé and I. We did a repeating type of style for the ring exchange.

Rev. Griffen was a joy to work with and we couldn't have been happier with how our ceremony was performed. Thank you for being a part of our special day!

Reverend Griffen was a true pleasure to work with for our outdoor wedding in August. He was very understanding of the uniqueness of our wedding given the cultural differences and was extremely helpful while we rehearsed the ceremony, making suggestions on timing or things we hand't thought about. He made everyone in the wedding party feel at ease both during the rehearsal and at the ceremony. We loved that he was able to get a feel for the crowd and even add in a little humor during the ceremony - the crowd loved him. It really did feel like we'd know him for years. :-)

Griff was absolutely phenomenal! Everyone loved him! He was professional and made all our guests laugh. I was so nervous with excitement but he continued to make me smile and even went over my vows with me right before the ceremony began. I couldn't have asked a better person to marry my husband and I. My husband and I found out our wedding officiant double booked on our date only 5 weeks away from our date. I found Griffen on wedding wire and felt like fate had given us a lucky break. Griffen made everything easy and enjoyable. Our wedding was a blended family ceremony. He guided us through the many options he knew of to include our four girls in the ceremony. He was very flexible in meeting our needs as a family and following our vision, even when I emailed him a brand new script the day before.

Rev. Griffen was great. He was completely flexible regarding our ceremony and was really responsive to all of our questions. His ceremony outline really helped us decide which elements we wanted to be included and which we did not. I have had the pleasure to be the wedding photographer at several weddings Griff has officiated. Nobody I have seen can hold a candle to his skill. Always the presence of professionalism, customizes officiating to his couples needs, always sounds heart-felt and seems to always have his clients best interests in mind. His officiating skills as a minister should be a blue print for other officiants. I cannot give a high enough recommendation --- 10 thumbs UP, way up.

Rev. Griffen did an excellent job serving as our Officiant in 2011. We couldn't recommend him more! From our first meeting he listened to what we wanted out of our ceremony and that is exactly what he delivered. He was thoughtful and offered suggestions when we had questions. He has an incredible presence in front of a crowd and injected the perfect amount of humor to help calm nerves during the ceremony. After the event many of our guests commented that they wished they had someone like him conduct their ceremony when they got married!

We were looking for someone who would be able to be flexible in our old and new traditions. We were also looking for someone who would be able to give our ceremony a bit of everything, some emotional parts, serious parts, and funny parts we found that Mr. Griffen brought all these things to our ceremony. We really enjoyed having him officiate our ceremony it was the best and he managed to make it so personal. We thank him for that! We got a lot of compliments on him from our guest.

We were very happy with Robert Griffen as the officiant for our wedding. He gave us plenty of freedom to customize our ceremony while at the same time providing useful tips that gave us a framework to start with. He was very professional in appearance and action. He responded to contact both on the phone and via email in a timely manner and was on time and ready for both the rehearsal and the wedding. Griff was amazing, very organized and kept the whole bridal party in good spirits during the ceremony. He likes to add a small amount of humor into the ceremony. My father had passed away about 3 months prior to the wedding, and though it could have been a very sad time for my family he gave recognition to what a special person my dad was to everyone, especially my family and I without bringing down the day. When we met with Griff, we knew instantly he was the officiant for us. He kept us smiling throughout the meeting. I would recommend Griff to anyone.

Mr. Griffen was amazing. My husband and I are from out of state, and he made everything incredibly easy for us. He made himself available to us by email and phone, and sent us a bunch of ceremony drafts to choose from. He made sure we were happy with every aspect of the ceremony. He explained in detail how everything would run, and even gave us photography advice. I would definitely recommend him.

Griff was a wonderful officiant for our wedding. He has a great humor and an extensive knowledge of weddings that both made our interactions with him very comfortable and easy. He was awesome at leading our rehearsal and very responsive to my emails and questions pre-wedding. We wrote our own vows, used the Cord of Three Strands instead of unity candles or sand, and changed around the bridal party's roles a little bit; Griff worked with all of our customization and made the transitions during our ceremony smooth and elegant. Also, during the ceremony he stepped away at the perfect time so that our first kiss as husband and wife could have pictures without him in the background - thanks to his wealth of knowledge of wedding photography he paid attention to those kinds of details. Griff's helped make our ceremony beautiful and meaningful.

Griffen was so wonderful to work with. He takes time to get to know both parties and custom-tailor the wedding ceremony to fit your personalities and requirements. He's very flexible (our original wedding venue canceled on us less than 2 weeks from the wedding, but Griffen didn't have a problem driving a bit farther to our replacement venue). He's also very fast to respond and answers whatever questions you might have. He can provide pretty much any kind of ceremony you need — religious, themed, you name it — all with professionalism and character. He definitely helped make our wedding special and memorable — I fully recommend him!

Griff was phenomenal to work with. He was so flexible with meetings and was able to do a lot over Skype because we were planning a destination wedding. He has a quirky sense of humor which my husband and I appreciated when it came to awkward situations! His services are more than worth the prices, which were some of the cheapest in the Portland area!!

Griff did a great job at making sure that our ceremony was exactly like we had wanted. Griff provided us with examples of other ceremonies he had done in the past. He was very accommodating with changes and requests we had. Luckily our ceremony was short because it was the hottest day of the year.

Griff was also able to help us organize the bridal party during the rehearsal and the day of the wedding which was appreciated.

The only issue was that he messed up my middle name during the ceremony and had to correct it. I was embarrassed and frustrated that that had happened.

Griff also helped us with questions about the marriage license and the name changing processes.

Very nice man and very helpful. He was a good choice for officiant. very funny and very helpful. he just needs to not make weird comments on the facebook page of one of there friends. other than that he was wonderful.

He was great!! Did everything we asked for and was very easy to keep in contact with!! There was only one probably that during the wedding he pronounced our last name wrong! Which wasnt the biggest deal, but all the same! would have been better to review before hand! But we was a very sweet man who even teared up during our ceremony which made everything so special! would definitely recommend!!

To be honest, it was less than a month before our wedding day and we had not yet secured an officiant, so this vendor selection was the most stressful for us. Things weren't looking any better when we finally reached out to a few possibilities and they either were not available or made us feel guilty for waiting so long to make a decision. However, we found Griff through WeddingWire and decided to schedule an in-person meeting with him after he confirmed that he was available to officiate our wedding. Words can't even describe the pleasant surprise that we received when we met with him! He was so incredibly understanding of our reasons for waiting so long, worked with us to create a customized ceremony to accommodate both our families, and on top of it all, was surprisingly hilarious!

Of all our vendors, Griff was definitely the one that brought us the most laughs throughout the process and made sure we were doing okay all the way through the ceremony. Even after we were married, he corresponded with us and has provided many words of encouragement as we continue to work through some things with our families.

If you're looking for someone who is not the typical, "by the book" officiant, who will bring you laughter and lighten up what can be an incredibly stressful situation, then absolutely reach out to Griff. He's the kindest man and will not let you down!

Griff is great I just had a few hiccups. We were to meet to go over our ceremony the Wednesday before our wedding. He never showed up, didn't answer his phone or text messages that we sent in desperation. Two hours after we were to meet we received an apology text from him stating that he was working on our ceremony and he would be there on Thursday for the rehearsal. He was there on Thursday and renewed our faith in that our ceremony would go perfect.
This may have been our fault for not knowing or his for not telling us but we did not have a marriage license on the day of our wedding. Something that should have or would have been discussed if he had showed up to the pre wedding meeting,
At the wedding my husband was called Steve, mind you that isn't his name and when we were announced he said the wrong last name, I know the number one rule is NEVER get the name wrong! It was upsetting at the time but now we laugh about it.
Griffin is great don't get me wrong I just think this might have been an off week for him. The important part is we ARE legally married and have a story to tell for years! Here's to Michael and Kimberly Salem!!! (our names as they were announced, not our real last name)

I was not very happy with Robert Griffin as our officiant.

At first, things were going very smoothly. We chose our the type of service and he was extremely helpful during our initial consultation. There wasn't much to discuss during the months of planning so we did not speak too often.

The day of the rehearsal went fine..He pulled my husband and I to the side and organized all the details and went through the service with us then he went through the service with our family. He made some jokes that my family thought was a little strange but nothing more. He said he would be thirty minutes early on our weddig date to get our marriage license and prepare.

Our ceremony was supposed to start at 530 and Robert did not show up until 540. My husband was EXTREMELY STRESSED and one of my bridemaid was on the verge of tears thinking Robert forgot about our ceremony. And to top it off, he told us his cell phone was not working but not to worry because he would be there early so there was no way to call him.

When he did arrive he made a comment to my bridal party that was waiting outside to walk down the aisle saying 'looks like you're waiting for someone' and my bridemaide said 'yeah, you!' and he said 'well i had to stop and get a burger'.. First, i don't think that comment was appropriate especially if the ceremony was delayed because of him.

Maybe it was due to traffic or something else but he should have been apologetic and said it was due to a certain issue instead of making a comment such as getting a burger.

i would not reccommend him to any of my friends/family getting married in the future. If you do choose Robert Griffin, make sure you have a way to contact him the day of your wedding.
