Yummy food

Having there help with the food set up and take down was super helpful and being able to rent everything through them too. The food was super yummy too. Thank you for the service.

Amazing Caterers

We recently had the pleasure of using the catering services provided by A Lively Chef for our wedding in McCall. We were thoroughly impressed. The food was excellent. The variety of dishes offered was impressive and catered to a range of dietary restrictions. The staff was non-intrusive and performed their job well throughout the event. They were very professional and friendly to work with while getting the event planned. Overall, we would highly recommend this catering company for any event or occasion - they truly exceeded our expectations.

Excellent Service, Even Better Food!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. We used A Lively Chef to cater our wedding and they did not disappoint! Our photographer recommended them, and they were professional and responsive during the whole planning process. The tasting was amazing and guaranteed that our food would be just what we were looking for. We were able to book our tents, tables, and chairs through a third party with them as well which made our planning process so much easier! We asked so many questions, and they all were answered without hesitation. They were able to accommodate different dietary restrictions as well which was a plus! Through this crazy time, we could always count on them to provide exceptional service. I would highly recommend their services for any events!

Amazing Food! Awesome Staff!

From start to finish A Lively Chef was amazing to work with! The food was absolutely incredible, so many guests raved about the freshness, flavor, and presentation. The service was fantastic, everything was perfectly executed! The staff was extremely friendly, attentive and super helpful. I had such a great experience working with them and I will definitely use them for all future events!

A great caterer

A Lively Chef is one of the premier catering groups in Boise. They were professional and prompt through our entire wedding process. The food was exactly what we wanted for the price we wanted. They are also conscious of their plastic waste and actively trying to manage it responsibly, which is a nice trait in a catering company. We were also able to rent tables and chairs from them and not have to deal with another vendor, which was awesome. If you are looking for a group that will work with you, make great food, listen to your needs, and has worlds of experience to draw from, look no further than A Lively Chef.

Going above and beyond

I can't say enough as to how amazing Lively Chef is! They really did go above and beyond my expectations. They are extremely flexible and so thoughful. The food is phenomenal! The quality of the food for the price is amazing! I truthfully have nothing negative to say about them. If you want great food and amazing people hire Lively Chef for your wedding.

Top Shelf Food and Customer Service

We were so impressed with the outstanding customer service and such delicious food provided by A Lively Chef.

They were so helpful during the planning process, providing a generous tasting and providing guidance on amounts needed for our guest count.
On the wedding day, the chef and staff responded to the dynamic changes occurring with the wedding day timeline. They were able to move up dinner by 1 hour when we identified changes happening several hours before the scheduled dinner time.
The food was so delicious! I am always worried about ordering chicken from past experiences, but the artichoke stuffed chicken was hot, juicy and so flavorful! The other dishes were equally standouts. Staff was friendly, professional and efficiently catered the event.
Thanks for all the assistance and all the delicious food which topped off this special day :)

They went above and beyond!! The food was delicious! They set up the table and decorated it with their own supplies just how we wanted it. They did a great job and we will use them again if we ever need a caterer!

Wonderful!

We were so incredibly pleased with the whole experience of using A Lively Chef as our caterer for our wedding. They were incredibly responsive and helpful during the prep and planning time and on the day of they exceeded all expectations. Our wedding was about an hour and a half outside of town and on a terribly hot day but the staff was still so great to work with and we appreciated their efforts and professionalism! The food was absolutely delicious and all of our guests were very pleased! Cant recommend them enough!!!

The best catering company for our wedding hands down! They were so attentive and quick to respond to my questions. Their services were amazing at our wedding. Wonderful Food & So Accommodating!

We had a wonderful experience booking A Lively Chef Catering for our June outdoor wedding. They were extremely responsive and informative throughout the entire process and even made some vegan dishes for our guests! The service was incredible and I couldn't believe how personable and kind the staff were—it felt more like they were serving dear friends than guests they didn't know at a wedding. Last, the food was incredible. The chicken marsala in particular was a knockout—it was very moist and delicious. My husband and I would recommend A Lively Chef Catering for any wedding or event you need delicious food for!

Fantastic all across the board

A Lively Chef's food was incredible - our guests were raving about the chicken marsala and the vegan red pepper. The roasted red potatoes were terrific as were the seasonal vegetables and the salad. We were also really impressed by the level of service and care that the A Lively Chef team provided to our guests. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

What a great experience!

Working with a Lively Chef was a fantastic experience. They catered a fully vegan meal for our wedding and everything was delicious. People couldn't believe vegan food could be so good. The team was very responsive in emails and calls, which was perfect given that we were planning the wedding remotely. They were also very good about listening to what my husband and I wanted and didn't push unnecessary things on us to drive up the cost. The staff at the event itself were friendly and helpful. I would definitely choose them for events in the future and recommend them to others.

Outstanding catering service!!

Celeste and her team at A Lively Chef did an outstanding job catering our Anniversary party! The food was outstanding and Celeste did an excellent job of communicating throughout the entire planning process. Great experience!

We didn't have a wedding coordinator and we planned everything from out-of-state, which can make things a little more difficult, but with A Lively Chef Catering, there were zero issues. They're responses were always timely and very detailed. When the wedding was just a few weeks away, I started getting worried about everything working out, but ALCC was the least of my worries. We had chips and salsa, a taco bar, and a hot chocolate bar and everyone raved about the food! On top of that, any left overs were put aside for us to take on our two week honeymoon road trip. If I had it to do all over again, I'd still chose them!

Very pleased with my experience with A Lively Chef Catering. They were excellent.

I picked Lively Chef Catering after reading reviews online and because it was not far away. I was immediately impressed with the professionalism and organization. They guided us through the process of selecting a menu for dinner, coordinated the rental equipment we needed, offered a sampling, and worked with the timing of our wedding ceremony. We held the service and dinner at our home, hosting about 32 people. A Lively Chef provided more than enough food which was delicious. Part of their staff was there to assist. They were timely and efficient. Yes, I highly recommend them.

The best food I have had at a wedding!

A Lively Chef was AMAZING to work with from beginning to end. They had a delicious chicken dish, as well as vegetarian and vegan options for our guest that were better than I could imagine. I’ve never heard so many compliments on a buffet and dinner options as i have heard for A Lively Chef! The staff was kind and thoughtful, and so personable. A couple members even stayed behind to help clean up after the wedding even though we had not paid them to do so. We are so happy we booked them, and will definitely be recommending them to others in the future.

Great Service

A Lively Chef was great to work with. Celeste did a wonderful job with the estimating and menu suggestions leading up to our daughter's wedding reception. She was very responsive in getting back to me when I had questions. Matt and Bobby did a great job at the reception setting up, serving and cleaning up. And the food was delicious! We will definitely recommend A Lively Chef to others.

They make planning easy....

A Lively Chef Catering was great to work with from the start. Our guests loved the food and thought it was delicious. They responded quickly when asked to quote our wedding. Every team member was friendly and professional the entire time. The communication during the planning was excellent. Always answered my questions quickly and thoroughly. The set up was done on time and exactly as they discussed. The staff during the event went above and beyond to help our guests. We even had one ours guests mention that one of the team members gave her a few pointers on how to play shuffleboard. Very attentive to the needs of every guest including those in the wedding party. They understood some of the stresses that the bride and groom feel the day of the wedding and did everything in their power to mitigate some of those stress points. That included making a plate of appetizers before the wedding for the groom so he could eat before the ceremony started. The break down of the event was smooth and with very little disruption to the reception. We are extremely happy with our choice and would highly recommend them to host a wedding or event to anyone.

AMAZING catering company!

We has such a wonderful experience with A Lively Chef catering company from start to finish! Sherry & Celeste helped us work through our menu preferences and had very strong email and phone call communication throughout the whole process. Lively Chef works in close relations to your rental company (for linens, dishware, glasses, etc.) so they take care of all that back and forth communication so you don't have to worry about it, it was amazing! They did a venue walk-through with us to make sure everyone was on the same page and were very catering to our needs. On our wedding day, everything went off without a hitch and the food was incredible. We had guest telling us it was some of the best buffet style, wedding food they'd ever had! Not to mention, the staff was very friendly and took great care of our guests' needs. We will be using this company for future catering!

I used A Lovely Chef Catering for retirement party I threw at my house. I cannot day enough wonderful things about my experience with them. From the moment I contacted them about my party, through to the immaculate clean-up after the party, A Lively Chef was a joy to work with. They were always professional and helpful. I didn’t end up calling anyone else. They had me hooked from my first conversation with them. I can rave equally about the food and presentation...it was excellent! I got lots of compliments from the guests. While they were not a bargain price, every dime I paid was well worth it. I will definitely use them again, if I need a party catered.

Lively Chef was the only vendor I had zero problems with. Everyone loved the food at my wedding. I opted to do passed appetizers during cocktail hour so people wouldn't have to stop mingling to get food and it worked perfectly! Everyone said they had plenty of food offered to them with a napkin. They brought up a tray to my bridal suite and I had the chicken and steak bites. So good! The staff was beyond professional and helpful at the wedding. I had tons of leftovers of everything except the food since everyone loved it! I even had a management change within Lively Chef during my wedding planning and they picked up where the other one left off perfectly. Will definitely hire again!

Unforgettable wedding!

We planned a wedding within 6 weeks due to move and the entire team at Lively Chef practically bend over backwards to accommodate our crazy schedule and last minute changes. We could not have been more pleased with their service and exceptional kindness.
Now best part : the food !!
Let's just say I was almost happy that some people didn't attend the reception and we had a lot of food because the food was such a hit that we had people going back for seconds and thirds.
Literally everyone complemented us on the amazing food. We also got to give a shout-out to the chef.. once he heard we had lots of people from Italy attending he made a few suggestions to alter our menu to us. Glad we listened because our Italian guests were raving about the pasta !
I can't think of a single thing the staff could have done differently.
A least kudos to the owners.. everyone really seemed to enjoy working there, it's a pleasure to see employees that are happy with their job .

Can’t begin to explain how pleased I am with A Lively Chef for the work they did at our May wedding at the Boise Train Depot. The food and presentation was amazing! The owners investment in their client’s experience was reassuring. Gary was at our wedding slicing the prime rib! Shari was very accommodating, especially with last minute changes. They orders, set-up, and tore-down all the rentals. I honestly forgot the team was there because everything ran so smooth. Our wedding was more than was I envisioned. Would defiantly choose A Lively Chef for future events.

One thing I would say is to make an educated guese of where the food should be put out. I chose the food to be out in a certain spot but it turned out to be a disaster as the line was blocking the walk way. I would say everything is perfect but needed a little more advice from the pro as to where the food should be. Thanks for all you have done and everything was spot on!!

I booked A Lively Chef Catering for my wedding reception last week. I am so happy that we chose them. Everything about the experience has been wonderful. The food was amazing and the service was too. The staff at my reception set up the dinnerware and picked up plates during the party. They also filled the water. Everyone was friendly and professional. Shari (the office manager and face of A Lively Chef) is prompt and professional. She is very organized and always gets back to you. Shari was always willing to meet with us and correspond through email as our needs changed. She also went above and beyond to help us pick the right linens and food, she coordinated everything being delivered and picked up, taking that burden off of us. I will use A Lively Chef for any catering may have in the future. I highly recommend you choose them for your next event.

A Lively Chef is amazing. Not only do they provide catering services, but I also went through them for all of the rentals! I don't even know where to start; Shari is very responsive, super easy to work with, and takes a lot of the stress out of what could be a potentially very stressful part of your wedding planning process. The food is amazing, I received nothing but compliments from all my guests about how fresh and delicious everything was! I strongly suggest the artichoke stuffed chicken breast, as someone who has never enjoyed chicken; let me tell you, this was the most dream worthy dish I've stumbled upon in years. I can't rave enough about the service in the professionalism they provided me with. I will always recommend them to anyone doing any kind of event, large or small, these people are amazing!

Shari was extremely helpful and accommodating during the entire catering process. I called her a LOT to make changes on almost everything and she was very cheerful, informative and kind throughout. She provided feedback and recommendations and it was an overall great experience. As for the food - I would estimate at least 25 guests specifically commented to me how great the food was - especially the salmon - a few people even said it was the best salmon they had ever eaten. As the bride, I had a fun moment with some of the A Lively Chef staff right before I was going to walk outside and down the aisle for the ceremony - I shared a laugh and we took a photo at that time - it made me feel happy and more relaxed. Cannot say enough great things. This is a top-notch operation - very high quality everything!

We found out about A Lively Chef because they were on a preferred vendor list from our venue. After working with them, I can really see why! Shari was an absolute delight to work with! We got married in Boise, but live in Virginia, so her responsiveness to my inquiries (and there were a lot, haha) and flexibility to meet with us when we were in town was crucial. The presentation was really nice as was the staff that set up and served the food. They were super flexible and even made a sandwich (that wasn't on their menu) for my brother who is a super picky eater. You get a ton of food for your money and they are really reasonably priced. Do yourself a favor, and get the mac and cheese as a side dish...you won't regret it! It was hands-down the BEST I have ever had. Everyone raved about how good the food was.

I don't know where to begin :)
I didn't have a wedding planner, so I had to take care of every aspect of our wedding and Shari took a lot out of my plate. She was always on top of everything, had wonderful suggestions and had patience with me switching things around until we got what we wanted.
The service at the wedding was outstanding. Gary & Dee (the owners) were present at the reception and together with the other ALCC team members helped our night to run smooth. Not to mention their delicious food, everyone was raving about it and there wasn't a single item the guests didn't enjoy.
I didn't get anything for writing this review, it just comes from the heart. They are an awesome team and I am sure you won't regret hiring them to cater your event. Can't wait to have an excuse to work with them again :)

Shari was amazing to work with! Very responsive and worked with my budget (and my many changes lol). The food was so delicious, great presentation and quality, even the vegan options were beautiful. Shari was amazing to work with. I changed the menu several times and she was so flexible and helpful. It was hard to choose what to serve because everything tasted great. Our guests raved about how good the food was. The servers were also fantastic. They were friendly and so helpful all throughout the night. Shari and the ALCC team were incredible to work with. Extremely flexible with food allergies, and willing to make your wedding menu unique without breaking the bank! The quality of food is impeccable as well! We had the steak with cabernet mushroom sauce and chicken stuffed with roasted red pepper, sun-dried tomato and feta. Both were tender and easily cut with a butter knife (no joke!). My only regret?! That we didn't have any food leftover to put away in our freezer for quick post-honeymoon dinners!

So many of my guests came up to rave to me about the catering. A Lively Chef was the easiest vendor to work with as Shari was extremely responsive and helpful. They did a beautiful job setting up the buffet and the food was delicious. They also did a great job clearing tables and refreshing water glasses throughout the dinner. SO GLAD we went through A Lively Chef for our wedding caterer. A Lively Chef Catering is amazing! Great people, very personable and accommodating. Shari is a great lady and will do just about anything to make your big special day perfect! I honestly don't know that we would have been able to get everything in order without her and ALCC. It was very convenient to get our rentals through them as well, one less thing to worry about. Gary and Dee work so hard to make their company succeed and it really shows. The food was very tasty and as I went around saying hi to my guests, they all seemed very pleased and happily full. The 25th was a very busy day for them but the event went off without a hitch. So thank you ALCC for helping to make our wedding day the best it could be!

A Lively Chef Catering just catered my daughter and new son-in-law's wedding. As the mother-of-the-bride, I wanted my daughter's wedding to be a memorable experience in every aspect. The food was amazing!!! The Chef and his team provided a 5 Star dinner and hors d'oeuvres line-up! Right after the wedding vows, the Team started serving hors d'oeuvres so there was no gap in the guests overall experience of the beautiful day. As dinner was served, the owner himself was there to ensure that every question was answered, and that each guest felt catered to personally as dinner was served - I could not be more pleased. We received so many compliments from our relatives and guests. Not only did I hear compliments on the day-of the wedding, but even leading up to the big day, vendors (wedding coordinators...) around town (when my daughter said who was catering), said that A Lively Chef has the most responsive catering team they work with and that her wedding would be in great hands - very true. A huge thank you to their "Lively Chef Event Coordinator" - thank you to the "Chef", and a thank you "Lively Chef Team" and the "Owner", you were amazing!!!

What can I say!!!! From the very beginning "A Lively Chef" was the absolute best vendor we worked with. They always responded promptly to our questions and constantly made us feel like we were their number one priority. They provide almost any extra service needed such as rentals, set-up, break-down, and changeovers. Although we didn't use all of their services, it was relieving to know what they offered. We used them for a changeover from our ceremony to reception, and it was more smooth than we could have asked for. Their staff was so professional. The display of food was gorgeous and it tasted delicious! We had so many compliments about the food. They even plated us our own "special" meal because we decided to eat during the changeover (best idea ever that I highly recommend to all couples).
What really impressed me, was the help given to my mother. We had decided to do our own desserts, and Gary stepped right in and helped my mom arrange them on the table. He even went outside to let the guests know dessert was ready.

I could go on and on and on about how great "A Lively Chef" is to work with. It was the best money we spent for our wedding. We would highly recommend them to anyone in the area!

BOOK THEM!!!! We went with ALCC because they were a preferred vendor at our reception venue and I am SOOO happy we went with them!! Shari was super responsive and easy to work with throughout the planning process, sending us updated quotes and changing around salads and such within hours anytime I sent her an email. Day of, the head chef (Gary, I think?) served us personally at our reception which I thought was a very nice touch. We went with the most cost effective options, but the quality of the food seemed anything but cheap--it was DELICIOUS!! We opted for passed hord'oeuvres, waiter-served dinner, and rented china through ALCC and it looked SOOO lovely. Of course, that cost a little extra but it was completely worth the cost as it looked so much more elegant than doing buffet style. We were SO impressed with both food quality and service and got tons of compliments from all our guests. I would absolutely recommend ALCC!

A Lively Chef catered my daughters wedding in Eagle Idaho at the end of June 2015. Not only was the food amazing, the service was seamless. We had them cater the cocktail hour as well as a seated dinner for 100 guests. Not only did they provide a wonderful service, they saved the wedding due to an error on the original caterers part that we had hired. A Lively Chef came through for us at the last minute, almost literally. We called them two weeks before the wedding and they managed to fit us in even though they had another event the same evening. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

A Lively Chef catering did a fantastic job throughout the entire process of our wedding. They were incredibly flexible with us. We live out of state but had an Idaho wedding, in a very remote place. The type of place that has no address, and they were more than willing to get there. They were excellent at helping guide us through everything. When we first met, they actually helped with a lot of things we hadn't even thought of yet! The service at our wedding was top notch, and very professional but not stuffy. The food was excellent, many guests asked for future references :)
For you future brides; if you want a caterer that you don't have to worryabout-go with these guys! I never felt stressed about working with them or what was going on the day of, believe me its a great feeling to have people around you who know what to do because you'll have a million other things on your mind.

We chose A Lively Chef based on the many positive reviews that we read on weddingwire. The planning process was easy thanks to Shari's helpful advice. We chose the chicken w/ mushroom reduction sauce as well as the vegetarian lasagna. Both turned out to be very tasty and popular among guests (I heard someone say "this is the best chicken I've had in my entire life".)

On the day of the wedding, I didn't even think about the food catering because I was confident that A Lively Chef would come through for us. And they did - they were a very professional crew that we barely had to interact with the whole night (which is a good thing - it's a very busy night!) Everything went seamlessly - everyone was fat and happy by the end of dinner, and we had some tasty leftovers that we took home with us! A Lively Chef is highly recommended for their professionalism and the tastiness of their cuisine!

Our son had a destination wedding but we were having the reception in Boise. We live in Idaho Falls, which is 4 hours away, and had to coordinate the catering over the phone. Sherri and Gary of The Lively Chef Catering was wonderful. Many phone conversations left me feeling that everything was going to be great. We loved A Lively Chef! They worked with us through indecisiveness, last minute changes, and provided excellent advice. Shari was SO great in offering suggestions, and letting me know what would work and what wouldn't. We received numerous compliments on the food and were told by many people it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. I would definitely recommend A Lively Chef Catering to anyone!

The American Red Cross, 2014-Annual Apheresis Appreciation Dinner was catered by A Lively Chef Catering and held at the Barber Park Education and Event Center.
The evening was a great success, thanks to A Lively Chef Catering; the event was everything I hoped for and more. I am very impressed with the excellent staff – Shari the Office Manager has been a pleasure to work with; she is on the ball! – Incredibly organized and knowledgeable. She was with me every step of the way, from working with my budget and meal selection to input on a floor plan at the Barber Park venue. It is evident that Gary, the Owner of A Lively Chef Catering has been in the catering business for a long time, he is first-class at what he does. Gary was there the evening of the dinner, serving the main dish –he is a hands-on business owner! Dee, the wife of Gary came with him to set up the buffet table; she has an eye for detail! After service of the main dish, Gary left the rest of the evening in the exceptionally capable hands of three staff; Nicole, Cameron and Caleb who are all hard workers, extremely courteous and incredibly attentive.
The food was beautifully presented and very delicious. I have had so many comments on the cabernet mushroom reduction sauce that was used on the grilled chicken breasts, wonderful flavor – definitely a winner! I have also had comments on the brownies, they were so yummy.
I can’t say enough about A Lively Chef Catering, they did a terrific job and I would recommend them to anyone. A Lively Chef Catering communicated and worked so well with the Barber Park Education and Event Center, the venue that I selected; making the event planning hassle free! If you are looking to host the perfect event at a beautiful place, just remember - A Lively Chef Catering and the Barber Park Education and Event Center.

I don't where to start. From the first phone call to Shari and to the last hug to all the servers when it was over, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our Mom lived in Nampa intil moving to Winnemucca, Nevada a year ago. So all of her children live out of state, two in Winnemucca and one in Renton, Washington. I asked a friend who lived in the valley and now lives in Winnemucca if she knew of any caterers. She mentioned A Lively Chef, which she had do her wedding 10 years earlier. Looking on line, I found it along with others. I called four different services and told them what we were looking for. A Lively Chef out did themselves by addressing all our questions and concerns over
the phone and through e-mails. What started out as 60 people in attendance mushroomed to 140. Shari worked with Ed and I through everything and what we received for the price was unbelievable. It was a beautiful set-up right down to the table linens, flowers and professionalism of the staff. We met Dee and Gary and I can't say enough about how they treated us. I'm sorry that I've rattled on, but people need to know about A Lively Chef. Our Mom would have loved every minute of the day. Oh,she did. Love to all of you. Sandy

A lively chef was very flexible to accommodate our wishes for our special day. They Always made our requests a priority and the food was outstanding. Multiple guests told me how good the food was at our wedding.

They were amazing to work with and the food was delicious. I have family still talking about their dinner at my wedding. I would highly recommend A Lively Chef to anyone getting married or looking for wonderful people to work with. Gary is very kind and attentive and made the entire process stress-free for me.

Gary, Dee, and the A Lively Chef staff were terrific to work with. They were helpful throughout the event planning and perfect at the wedding. They brought a prime rib and salmon dinner to McCall that was so fabulous you would think it just came out of a top-notch professional kitchen. Without reservation, I highly recommend and will definitely hire again A Lively Chef.

I only have one daughter and this was her day. Gary and his team were great to work with. We did much of the planning from Arizona. They took into consideration what we were looking for and made it spectacular. Many of our guest commented on how nice the presentation was. The food was flavorful and well served.

Gary was amazing to work with and their food and service was amazing. Our wedding was out of town and they had the food preparation for our special perfected! We would recommend them to anyone who wants elegance, great food, and professionalism

A Lively Chef was a true pleasure to work with. The food was exceptional and our guests provided rave reviews. Every detail they agreed to was delivered. Shari did an outstanding job of working with me (including calming of nerves!) to create the perfect event for our daughter. Gary was a caring and a highly professional man to work with. The Lively Chef crew were absolutely fantastic! They went above and beyond to make sure our wedding reception was one to talk about. Every detail was maticuliously executed by them from the delicious food to the setup of the tables and venue. We couldn't have been happier with all that they did!

Best wedding food I have ever had!!

Gary at A Lively Chef has been doing this for many years and you sure can tell. He was on the preferred list for my venue, The Rose Room. I planned to meet with more than one caterer, but after the first meeting with Gary, my mom and I both knew right away that he was the one. One more meeting, and we had everything worked out. It was very simple. We had 250 guests, and I wanted a full dinner with a cocktail hour of passed appetizers. Gary was very helpful to figure out how many servings of everything we needed. We received many compliments after the fact about how delicious the food was.

I would highly recommend Gary for catering at any event, but especially for the Rose Room.

Gary and Dee, of a Lively Chef Catering, are truly the best in Boise. True professionals. From the moment we first made contact with them for a taste test, to the end of the night of our wedding reception, they were outstanding. Not only is their food beautifully prepared and delicious, they are very organized and adept are serving large groups of people with grace and ease that could only come from years of experience. We had many guests comment on how wonderful the service was and the taste of our food. There are a lot of options that might at first blush appear to be superior, although I will tell you from first hand experience, you will not be dissappointed with a Lively Chef. Stay with the best, and know that everything will be taken care of for your big day.

Gary & his staff were fantastic! The food was amazing (several people told me afterwards that it was the best vegetarian lasagna they'd ever had) & their service was impeccable. If you want to book a vendor who will handle all your catering needs & leave you with no stress, look no further! Book them!

Gary is AMAZING---I just can't reccomend A Lively Chef highly enough! I emailed him about once a month for over a year hashing out details. He was always friendly, helpful, and quick to respond. We had rain on our wedding day, and his staff helped clear tables. His wife even folded all our napkins! They did tray-passed hors d'oeurves at no extra cost, the food was awesome, and he was willing to do a third entree for our vegetarian friends. My dad is super-picky about food, and even he said teh food was "good" (high praise coming from the man!)We also hired him to cater our brunch the morning after. Nothing but friendly, professional service! Also, if you book early, he'll give you the prices for the year you book, not the year of your event. This saved us about $4/person. I just thought that was a great way to save a little money!

My caterer went bankrupt 2 months before my wedding and I was so stressed about finding a new caterer. When I desperately searched for new caterers, I found A Lively Chef. I LOVED working with them. They were incredibly organized, had delicious food, and were very detail oriented and prepared. When my first quote was over my budget, A Lively Chef made some adjustments and was able to meet my budget. I also loved that they asked for my wedding colors and theme so they could decorate accordingly. I would definitely recommend them!

A Lively Chef was easy to work with, willing to travel dirt roads for 40 miles one way and the Chef was the best! He entertained the guests as they went thru the food line and was very cordial and liked by all!

The food that was provided was amazing and everything we had hoped for. We asked for a cocktail hour so the waiters and waitresses walked around with appetizers. Everyone was dressed very nicely and worked very professionally. We ordered two different main courses from A Lively Chef and I had asked before the wedding that if I or any of my guest wanted to try both main courses would they be able to have half of each. I was told yes, but this was not the case on the day of the wedding. I asked to have half of each and was denied. I ended up having to get the opposite of my husband and try his in order to taste both courses. I would not have minded so much if from the beginning that they wouldn't half the courses. However, two of our guests were gluten free and upon mentioning this to A Lively Chef, they prepared to separate meals that were gluten free for no extra charge. Overall my husband and I were very pleased.

Shari and her team did a wonderful job catering the Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Council's Idaho Gives Luncheon on May 1st. The food was incredible and the staff is very warm, professional and flexible.

We will definitely work with A Lively Chef in the future!

A Lively Chef did an amazing job with our wedding at the Rose Room. Shari was absolutely wonderful to work with during the planning stages before the wedding. Always very responsive and was always there to answer any questions that arose as well as give very valuable advice. Without a wedding planner, she definitely helped us a ton with knowing what needed to be done and how to do it. Gary and Dee were also very kind, professional, and flexible with everything. As was the entire staff. The presentation of the food was very nice and classy and the food itself was superb! Everyone at the wedding raved about how good everything was. I would hire them to cater an event again in a heartbeat and plan on recommending them to anyone I know that might need catering in the future.
