    Phenomenal Venue!

Choosing A Friends’ House was an incredibly easy choice for my husband and I. Bobbi and Jeremy provided excellent responses for all of our questions. When we worried about rain or where to plug in food appliances they accommodated to every want. Jeremy did a great job with our sound and setup! We were in awe of their professionalism and how kind and welcoming they were to all of our guests. The venue is affordable, adorable, and rustic. Bobbi informed us of its age and that being over 100 years old it’s in beautiful shape. We will be recommending this venue to all of our friends and family and plan to renew our vows here in the future. My wedding dreams came true. Thank you Bobbi and Jeremy for all of your hard work!

I spent months trying to find a venue site to match my husband and my dreams - and one that was within our budget. Ever since I was a little girl, I would pass by A Friend's House and dreamed of getting married there someday - I was beyond happy when I found out the date we requested was available and the price for the site was half the cost of the other locations I had looked in to. Bobbi and Jeremy were extremely helpful in the planning process and they were available whenever we needed them. Each time we visited the site, it felt like we were meeting lifelong friends for brunch. They were very easy to talk to and offered a serene and relaxed atmosphere. The property is absolutely beautiful and very accomading to to guests of all ages. If you're looking for a family-friendly, rustic, country wedding location, I highly recommend A Friend's House!

    Don't have a wedding here

We will start off by saying our day was great, everything went pretty smooth the day of our wedding, Bobbi did a great job decorating and getting things ready, and Jeremy did great playing music and doing the behind the scenes work of our ceremony. Here's the reasons we gave them the ratings we did.
In August of 2018 we toured A Friend's House for our July 2020 wedding. We were told the bridal cottage would be up and running by our wedding. Jeremy has now (the night of our wedding) stated he is tearing it down, but we would have never booked them if that was the case. The "bridal room" is very small for a larger group of 10 people to get ready in. We told her 1.5 weeks before the wedding the girls would get ready in the church and the boys would get ready in the bridal room since it was too small for our girls. Bobbi informed us the night before the wedding that the church only had 1 outlet (this would have been great to know when we originally told her our plan). Thank God we had friends in town graciously volunteer her house to get ready.
Plus, the electrical of the barn does not have the capacity to run roasters and the AC unit in the bridal room at the same time, so our "cool spot" on a 95 degree day didn't even work once we started warming up dinner. And originally our DJ was also supposed to be hooked up in the barn too, so reayy not sure how the electrical would have ever handled that.
Had our food people and bartenders dumping grey water out the back door so "their septic tanks didn't get full of grey water", which we found absolutely disgusting.
They posted on Facebook in April about how they would be accommodating during the pandemic, and when we reached out in May with concerns about our wedding and wanting to move it to 2021, we were basically told "states open, we're doing it".
Inappropriate comments were made to our wedding party from both Bobbi and Jeremy. He kept telling our one bridesmaid how beautiful she looked, and she walked in on 2 of our groomsmen changing and states "oooo, half naked men, my favorite!" Sat with friends during our dinner, and they stated the conversations had were very odd as well.
Told us they had tents they would set up for an extra cost, but then when we asked about it the week of due to predicted rain, he tried coming up with every excuse in the book to not set them up, and recommended we call a company in town to do so.
The venue itself is so cute, but could really use a fresh coat of paint and some fixing up. We understand it's "just a barn", but some small work could go a long way.
We could continue to add things of how our experience was, because this is just the tip of the ice berg. We will not be recommending them to any of our friends and family, and have told people we know getting married to not even bother to look here.
