We worked with Tyler Stafford for our wedding music and found him very easy to work with. We met with him ahead of time to discuss our song selections, and he did a great job of playing music that fit the overall vibe of the songs we had discussed.
We also greatly appreciated his flexibility. We actually added an impromptu serenade in the middle of the event, and he handled the change seamlessly. Our guests really enjoyed the music and the dance floor stayed lively throughout the night. If you're looking for a vendor who is flexible and easy to collaborate with, Tyler (and the other DJs from A Beautiful Sound) is a great choice. -

Best DJ & Live Music
We couldn't have picked a better company for our wedding! A Beautiful Sound and Tyler took so much time to understand the type of music we wanted and ensured it was exactly the vibe we wanted for the day. We got married in our backyard and Tyler had no problem mapping out the best places for him to set up to make sure the day ran smoothly. People were on the dance floor all night which is exactly what we wanted! Not to mention - Tyler plays guitar amazingly himself. -

WOW. We are so so so happy we went with A Beautiful Sound for our wedding. So many of our friends and family members came up to us the whole night and said how great of a job Sam was doing! The songs perfectly blended together, and he accommodated some of our fun, unique requests throughout the night perfectly! HIGHLY recommend choosing A Beautiful Sound to make the dance floor on your big day as fun and memorable as ours was! -

Highly Recommend!
We loved working with A Beautiful Sound DJ & Live Music and Sam for our wedding! Sam was very helpful and we knew we were in good hands throughout the planning process. His questionnaire helped us prepare for the big day, and when we were unsure about a few things, he reviewed what we'd already provided, understood our vibe, and recommended songs for key moments. Sam also played acoustic guitar and sang during our cocktail hour, which was amazing and a really nice touch! On the dance floor, Sam's flow and ability to weave together our requested songs, while also feeling the vibe of our wedding, resulted in a fantastic party! Everyone said Sam was great! He was also very communicative throughout the process. In addition, Sam even set up colored lights for us, even though we hadn't selected that option! They really enhanced the nighttime ambiance. I highly recommend Sam and A Beautiful Sound DJ & Live Music to anyone looking for an event DJ. -

Look no further!!
We cannot thank Sam from A Beautiful Sound enough! Aside from being so easy to work with, he truly made our day so special at Convict Lake. From the beautiful acoustic guitar during our ceremony / cocktail hour, to keeping a lively dance floor all night long, everything was better than we could have hoped! The photo booth was a huge hit too!! If we could do it all over again, we wouldn’t change a thing! 10/10 would recommend!! -

Sam was an incredible DJ for our wedding in Olympic Valley. He was extremely helpful and easy to work with leading up to the wedding. My wife and I had a very rough and vague idea of what we wanted, but lacked any specifics. Sam and his expertise helped translate our vague idea into an amazing night for us. He helped us a lot with working through the flow of the night, song selection for our ceremony, and song selection / vibe for the dance floor. The end result was perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a better time on our dance floor. We also received a lot of comments from our guests about how fun the dance floor was. That was something we really wanted for our guests, so it meant a lot to us that Sam was able to deliver that. His guitar performance during our ceremony was perfect as well. It was a really nice addition to the ceremony. We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding, and Sam was a big part of that. We’re so grateful for all of Sam’s help and everything that he brought to our big day. -

We had such a wonderful experience working with Sam at A Beautiful Sound. He was incredibly responsive and helpful. He worked with us to choose music that would capture the essence of our day and was so much fun to talk to! Sam was an awesome MC and kept us right on track with the transitions of the wedding. He went above and beyond for us in so many ways and we highly recommend him! Another added positive, was that he was able to bring in a talented violinist for our ceremony and cocktail hour. The atmosphere this created was magical. -

So so glad that we reach out to A beautiful sound for the music for our wedding! When sharing our visions/song likes Sam immediately thought of the perfect person, David to work at our wedding. Even with some last minute weather changes/schedule changes -- David so SO SO INCREDIBLE! So many of our friends told us how great the music was -- from live acoustic, so awesome DJ set -- it was really such an incredible night. 100% would recommend working with them and David -- you cannot go wrong. Genuinely will use them for any future event I can do - they were that good. So easy to work with, responsive and really make the music what you want vs a cookie cutter approach. If you're reading this review -- definitely go with them! -

Sam and David made our day phenomenal! From the first call with Sam, I knew we had the right DJ. David picked up our date and communicated throughout the entire process. They worked with us as well as a separate band that played during happy hour. Their spreadsheet was perfect - they got our important songs as well as our general vibe. If you are looking for a personal and laid back planning experience and the ultimate dance party for your wedding look no further than Sam and Cliff! My husband and I got married at Palisades in May of 2023. We were looking for acoustic music for the ceremony, a trio for happy hour and a full band for the reception. Sam was super flexible and quick to respond as he worked with us throughout the planning process to understand our vision. On our wedding day, Sam played beautiful acoustic guitar for the ceremony and smoothly MCd our reception. Cliff and Sam and the rest of the trio started the party during happy hour. And for our the rest of the night, we had a full band that got all generations up and dancing - groovy, classic, and down right fun. I cannot recommend Sam and Cliff enough for epic accompaniment to your wedding! -

A Beautiful Sound connected us with Tim Snider, an amazing solo musician (violinist and singer). We were so lucky to find Tim - our original musician had cancelled on us, but Tim was flexible and responsive for joining on short notice. And we couldn't have been happier! His sense of timing and mood was ideal for our smaller outdoor ceremony, and his live music performance was definitely a highlight for our guests at the reception. He smoothly DJ'd our song list as well. Highly highly recommend, Tim is awesome to work with and brings great energy for a wedding. -

Best Wedding DJ I've Ever Heard!
My husband and I are musicians and avid music fans, so we knew we wanted the best of the best for our wedding. We wanted someone who would be able to play soft, acoustic jazz for the ceremony, more fun, upbeat but still laid back music for the cocktail hour, and go hard during our dance portion of the wedding. We also didn't want someone who is too up in your face as an MC and didn't make the evening about them.
Sam was the most perfect person we could have ever hired for our day. He is quite literally the best wedding DJ I have ever heard - his transitions were flawless, his music choices were killer, and the dance floor was packed the entire night, even with the dance portion being longer than a normal wedding!
Sam was so thoughtful and respectful in all of our requests, of which I think we made a lot! We had very specific ideas in mind for our processional music and it was an absolute dream. He is an incredible singer, and our cocktail hour was so special because he crooned to us the entire time with soulful, fun tunes. We even had a pipe dream idea of singing a fairly obscure, unknown song for all of our guests, and Sam lead the helm on acoustic guitar and absolutely nailed it!
And to top it all off, Sam is just an incredible person in general. He is so laid back, comfortable and confident with his craft, and is very enthusiastic about his job. You can tell that he really loves what he does, and it makes a difference.
100/10 would recommend hiring Sam. You really will not find a better person to soundtrack your day. -

Sam was an incredible DJ & musician, who worked through very difficult circumstances as our outdoor wedding was severely rained out. He kept a positive attitude and brought the party back to life as our drenched wedding guests made their way to the reception. He played live music during dinner that was absolutely beautiful - couldn't be happier with his DJ selections! Thank you Sam for making our wedding so incredible! -

We were luckily enough to book Sam Ravenna as a vendor through our wedding planner. He was easy going through the whole process and when we had to postpone our wedding 4 days before because of the smoke in Tahoe, he not only came down to do perform/DJ for the celebration in the Bay Area but did all again for us luckily 6 weeks later in October. He is multi talented from instrumental music for our ceremony, singing during the cocktail hour and DJ's for dancing. All the guest though he was one of the best DJ's they heard and would highly recommend booking Sam for any for any event, especially Weddings.

We hired Sam Ravenna as our wedding DJ and couldn't have been happier with the results. Not only did he learn our bespoke songs to play live on guitar for the ceremony, but he also made sure what was played was what we wanted. We had specific songs we wanted and artist we wanted to avoid and he navigated guest-requests with grace–letting them know that the Bride and Groom had set preferences and he needed to honor our requests. We also wanted to give Sam the freedom to create a natural flow and energy by linking songs he felt like created the desired mood; he crushed it. So many people were on the dance floor due to his craft and expertise.
We are so happy we chose him for our wedding. -

Sam is AMAZING!!! We found him through the Tahoe School of Music when we were looking for a live reggae musician and a DJ. We met him via Zoom and just fell in love with his personality and music style. Completely our vibe and he really seemed to get us as a couple and what we wanted for our wedding day.
Our wedding was supposed to be in South Lake Tahoe, but due to the Caldor fire we had to change plans pretty much 5 days before our wedding. Sam was so flexible and easy and it seemed like he had been planning the set up and everything for months.
His live music was a huge hit for our family and the way he organized the event by handling speeches and the timeline was amazing. His read on the dance floor and crowd was impeccable! He played Indian music for my family and an awesome mix for our friends and my husband’s family.
We will never ever forget how special he made us feel and how much fun all of our guests had.

My fiance and I saw Sam perform live and loved his style. He's a great MC and kept the night flowing smoothly. I appreciated that he listened to the order of events we wanted, and kept an eye on the crowd to gauge the best timing of events. He worked with us to tweak and extend songs for the ceremony, performed live at our cocktail hour, and brought in a trumpet player for our entrance and our first dance. He was very interested from the beginning to learn our style, and absolutely delivered during the night. The dance floor was packed all night, which is saying a lot when you consider that our guest list was made up of a lot of different groups that didn't know each other but ended up dancing together. He was easy to work with, and we'd absolutely recommend him for any event. -

Sam was a rockstar throughout our entire wedding day. He took care of music for our ceremony and followed along closely for when we asked him to chime in mid-ceremony for some tunes. He had everything needed for setting up sound at our ceremony site, inside the lodge where our dinner was, and outside on the deck for dancing. He was incredibly professional throughout the process and the entire day, but also laid back, which is nice for such a crazy time. He is there when you need him but never in the way. He worked with our videographer to make sure they were both all set for mics/sound during the ceremony and the audio sounded crisp and clear the whole time. Sam was also great to work with before the big day as well. He has a spreadsheet to help you organize song choices and timeline, names for announcement, etc. My wife and I had also made a playlist for each section of the night as extra guidance and Sam was happy to take it all into account, and still added his knowledgeable touch on when to play what, and when to divert from our playlists and respond to the crowd. Overall, Sam is just super willing to go above and beyond to make the day special.A Beautiful Sound DJ & Live Music's reply:

Mark Sent on 01/18/2018Sam is not your normal DJ. That’s the last thing we wanted at our wedding. We wanted someone with outstanding professionalism and musical intuition. In working with Sam, we got just that. He is not a typical cheesy playlist DJ. He reads the room and before you know it, everyone is dancing and grinning cheek to cheek. Sam has lots of experience as a DJ and an MC, he is willing to work with you to build the perfect evening. Highly recommended!

Sam was a great DJ for our wedding in Olympic Valley! We had the fortune of meeting him as he was setting up for a wedding during our initial venue tour, and we were instantly appreciative of his warm, friendly, approachable demeanor. Luckily, he was available on our wedding date! He was extremely easy to work with throughout the process, even when we had a relatively last minute change in our ceremony location, and he did an incredible job timing our chosen ceremony music. He kept the dance floor fun and full all night long, our guests really enjoyed the party! We are so happy to have had the chance to work with Sam for our wedding.
