110% recommend Terrance and 985 DJ’s. Throughout the entire planning process he was always available to answer questions and make
everything go smoothly to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. When it came time for the wedding he blew us out the water! Dancing on the clouds, cold sparks, Photo Booth, monogram,and making sure all of our special requests songs played exactly when we wanted. He did it all and everyone at the wedding loved him! Couldn't ask for anything better!
We used 985 DJ for our wedding, and it was a fantastic experience! Terrance was phenomenal and truly went above and beyond with every little detail. He was extremely professional and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. All of our friends and family absolutely loved the atmosphere he created and adored the photo booth! Terrence is absolutely top-notch! From the very first conversation that we had, all the way through the end of my son's wedding, he was absolutely amazing! He's extremely professional and extremely responsive! Every single message was replied to and every single phone call was either immediately answered or promptly returned! His equipment was fabulous and I just know that my son's wedding would not have been the same without him! He was absolutely on point with all of the different cues and songs for the wedding ceremony and his excellence carried over to the reception! We will absolutely be using him again! We just cannot thank him enough for his expertise and his kindness!

Want a party for your reception? 985 DJ is it!
I researched DJs before hiring, looking at reviews. My husband and I decided on 985 DJ. We explained our music interests (which was a WIDE range) and Terrance delivered a non stop party at our reception! We even had guests, on the dance floor, tell us how much fun they were having and the music was top tier, the best they had ever experienced at a wedding. We even had special events throughout the reception that Terrance was able to accommodate and make the night even more special!
We are still having people tell us how much they had at our wedding and that it was the best they had ever been to!
HIGHLY recommend 985 DJ!

Dream DJ!!
I cannot recommend Terrance enough!! He was highly communicative from the jump and answered any and all my questions. His software for music suggestions was easy to use. He kept the dance floor crowded all night! He played all our must plays and played a mix of all types of music that worked for a super diverse crowd. Terrance went above and beyond providing uplighting and dance floor lights. My father and I played instruments as part of our father daughter dance and Terrance helped with the sound check and tuning and put together a surprise with my father for his dinner speech. Frankie Beverly’s Before I Let Go was our father daughter dance song and I thought it would have been cool to mix Beyonce’s cover and he did JUST that without me asking! It was like he was in my head. He made sure my must plays went on only when I was on the dance floor which I really appreciated. Months later people are still talking about how it was one of the most fun weddings they had been to.
Terrance made my wedding a dream come true and I can’t recommend him enough!!

985 DJ's gave us an amazing wedding!
985 DJ's is wonderful! Terrance recently DJ'd my wedding in New Orleans and did an amazing job. He was spot on with the music we selected, and even made sure to play last minute requests during the reception. He was also extremely flexible as we had some last minute changes to our wedding ceremony timeline. I was able to text him that day and he ensured everything was adjusted. Also, I was impressed with how easy it was to organize the music we selected. 985 DJ's provides an easy to use event planner website where you can easily make your payments and request or select each song you want for your wedding, including your special event requests such as for the bridal walk, cake cutting, first dance, etc. If 985 DJ's doesn't have the song in the inventory list you can type it in and Terrance will make every effort to find and play it for you! I can't thank Terrance enough for all of his hard work and for being a part of our special day!

Despite very cold temps, our dance floor was packed all night and the reception was a blast. All our special dances were lovely and executed without an issue. The dance party of all dance parties!
Gregory at 985 DJs kept everyone on their feet for our entire 4 hour wedding reception. Incredible! This was a destination wedding and being music people, we were worried about rolling the dice from afar, but after a few conversations with Terrance, we knew we were in good hands. We were able to add all our must-play songs to an online portal and were prompted with a countdown leading up to our deadline. And we had a run-through with Terrance a week prior. All that attention made certain our wedding vibe was going to be what we wanted it to be: a dance party with all our favorite songs (and a few requests we allowed). THANK YOU!

Best DJ in the New Orleans area! 10/10
Terrance was our wedding DJ this past weekend and we could not have asked for a better DJ and experience. He was the highlight of our wedding.
We first reached out several months ago via email. Terrance was quick to respond every time and was extremely helpful and accommodating with all the questions and requests we had.
The day of the wedding he showed up well before the ceremony, the music for the wedding was perfect.
As for the reception, the dance floor was bumping for the entire four hours. Terrance mixed all of the songs we requested and every one was played at the perfect time. We had so many compliments from friends and family about how fun the dance floor was.
All in all, we loved having Terrance DJ our wedding and would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone. 10/10.

Terrance was a huge hit at our wedding! We absolutely loved working with 985 DJs to provide audio services for our outdoor ceremony and music for our reception! He was very friendly, personable, and easy to work with. I also loved the client portal that made it easy to customize our song choices and even find song options when we couldn't think of anything! He was also able to accommodate Spanish songs for our wedding, which meant a lot to me since I am Puerto Rican. If you’re thinking about using 985 Dj, the answer is YES! Terrance is an amazing Dj. He took my scattered list of song request and made an awesome playlist. My bridal party hadn’t timed our processional and Terrance made sure the songs I wanted matched the timing perfectly. He did an amazing job of matching the vibe of the crowd during our reception and keeping the party going! We had so many compliments on him as our Dj. We also booked his photo booth services which was an absolute hit! If your having a cocktail hour while you and your new husband take a few pics and have a quick bite to eat, this is a great added activity for guest to partake in! An attendant is with the photo booth to help your guest, it comes with props and a backdrop, the pics are sent directly to their phones, and you get a copy of all of the pics after. It was such a great addition!!!! Will definitely use 985 Dj’s next time we need a Dj or a photo booth for an event! Do yourself a favor and book Terrance!

Terrance lived up to the hype!
Every time we mentioned we booked 985 DJs with Terrance, it was met with “oh you’re going to love him!”. His ability to read the room and select music that kept people on the dance floor was incredible. Just when we thought we were tired and needed to rest, he would play a song that had us running back out to the dance floor. He was so accommodating, even when we changed our first dance song at the last minute. His website portal made the process for selecting music and creating the flow of the wedding so incredibly easy. We really enjoyed him and highly recommend booking him.

They were so great and fun… everyone had a blast! The online portal made it so much easier to select “must play” or “do not play.” We had another DJ for a different event, and 985 DJ’s blew the other one away! The other forced people on the dance floor via mic a lot (yikes) but 985 DJs naturally got them to have a great time without any of that which is what we preferred! So happy I went with them for our reception, and they were very easy to work with.

985 Dj's was everything I could have imagined.
I think at some point I was on the dance floor and didn't leave until the music stopped. I also realized that afterward that the list I put together was a lot cornier than I imagined and I am thankful that they did not play half of the songs I listed, but adjusted based on what kept my guest on the dance floor. Including taking request.
My uplighting was everything. HIGHLY recommend using uplighting.
I am happy that I did not see any of the equipment used as it was nicely decorated on stage.
Phenomenal service, worth it all, and would highly recommend.

985 DJs made our wedding PHENOMENAL! We had people on the dance floor ALL. NIGHT. LONG. We received so many comments afterwards raving about how our wedding was such an amazing time. What made the night even more epic was they were able to recreate a YouTube video wedding reception introduction that my husband really wanted, and it was absolutely PERFECT. The announcing of our bridal party like a Chicago Bulls lineup was hilarious and such a hit with our group! It was such a great level of customer service how Terrance made that magic happen. 985DJs were easy to work with and very accommodating. Our wedding along with the lives of people in New Orleans was interrupted because of Hurricane Ida; however, 985 DJs (Terrance Johnson) still provided an organized pre and post ceremony playlist. The selections were phenomenal, personable and a conversational piece with our guest. Although we did not travel to New Orleans, we certainly felt the culture through this professional. YOU would not be disappointed should you select them.

Great Professional Service
We booked this DJ last minute, and he still provided everything expected and more. He was a life saver after our prior DJ cancelled. He was responsive enough to last minute changes due to crazy weather coming in. We couldn't have asked for more. He played all the requested songs, and played to the crowd. 1000% percent recommend.

985 DJs did the sound and music for my wedding in 3 different locations! DJ Terrance was so quick to respond to my many messages and changes, he was so easy to work with! Fabulous DJ
I had the pleasure of working with Terrance for my wedding, and I knew he was awesome when my dad had nothing but great things to say. The music was the perfect volume for us to still have conversations and enjoy the music as well. Terrance was the best DJ foR our ceremony and reception! We had multiple people tell us how good our DJ was. He brought lights and everything needed for the reception and we changed the ceremony outside at the last second and he has to reset up and was totally sweet and understanding about it! 1000/10 recommend!

I cannot even begin to describe how thankful I am that my husband and I found Terrance (and his LOVELY wife) to be our DJ for our March wedding! Not only did every interaction with him bring joy and ease to my mind, but he made it so stress free! He walks you through the music portal that you get to pick your special songs and “music vibe” for your wedding on your own schedule. He also gently keeps you on track to ensure you have plenty of time before your big day.....which made me lovingly refer to him as Papa Terrance on a couple occasions :)
Terrance also went above and beyond by creating a special music mashup for my first dance with my dad which was a highlight of the night!
I can’t say enough good things. If you have any doubt on who you need to DJ your wedding/event, literally stop searching now because DJ 985 THE best option.

Profession party maker
Hired 985 DJs for my Bourbon St reception, they gave me more than my money’s worth and read the room and kept the excitement going all night. No one left early and no one wanted to leave at the end of the night. We had no problem getting people dancing on that floor. Mr Johnson was so easy to work with and responded quickly and worked with whatever challenges I threw at him. Just a heads up his lovely wife is a wedding planner and if you are looking it’s worth looking into her services as well. Can’t go wrong with this choice.

Perfect wedding DJ!
Terrance was amazing! Extremely responsive to messages, which is a huge plus when you're trying to plan a wedding. He played all of my special songs exactly when he needed to. Some of the songs weren't on his list, but he was super easy to work with and had whichever song I needed downloaded and ready to go. Two members of my bridal party sang a special song during the reception and he was more than willing to play the instrumental music for them to sing along to even though it wasn't on his list! I could tell that he was constantly feeling out the crowd during the reception to decide which song to play next. I would recommend 985 DJs to anyone who needs an amazing DJ to make their wedding or event extra special!

The wedding was beautiful-one of the most memorable I have ever attended.

This man and his wife are by far the best duo across the southern region! I can not thank Terrance and Sonya enough for being such beautiful people inside and out, they went above and beyond what me and my family could have ever imagined. The professionalism and heart they put into their business and work ethic are by far the best I’ve experienced and will definitely recommend them at the highest levels! The pride put into everything they do is so rare and they always put their clients feelings and sentiment as priority. We had 3 locations set up ceremony, cocktail, reception areas and they made everything possible and absolutely perfect! We will never use another dj in life! Bday party, baby shower, just for the heck of it! We will only have 985 on our list!

Even Mom got up to dance.
People are still talking about how great my daughter’s wedding reception was. The dance floor stayed full for 3 hours. My mother, who is in a wheelchair, wanted to be a on the dance floor. 985 DJ participated in the party as well as working the party. I see that as a compliment.

He adjusted his schedule to accommodate our needs and timeline. He incorporated our music requests and customized his playlist to reflect our memorable event. We highly recommend this DJ for any of your events! Most of all, although his price fit our budget, his playlist we could not put a price on because it reflected the most fun time we've had in years!!
