This was the third affair of ours that John and Studio 901 served as DJs for and they were as great as ever. After being the DJ at our daughters' bat mitzvahs, John was now the DJ at one of their weddings! He was there early to set up and did all of the ceremony music without a hitch. During the reception, he kept the guests up and dancing throughout the whole party, and emceed the various wedding rituals flawlessly.
It was great knowing that our DJ knew us and was enjoying being a part of our festivities, and I would highly recommend Studio 901 Productions if you are in need of DJ services.

John was great. He was very accommodating, we had a big gap between our ceremony and reception and he helped us plan for it and was really flexible with the timing. He has a great portal for planning your timeline and music, makes it super easy to put what songs you want for which events, or which songs you want to hear. He brought fun props for the dance floor! We were well lead through our dances, speeches, etc. We didn't have a wedding or venue coordinator, so when the bridal party arrived he was instrumental in getting us together, out of sight, and telling everyone when and where to walk (we had rehearsed outside and because of the rain were married indoors). It really helps to have experienced professionals like this there on your wedding day.

John DJ'd a 50 birthday party and did not measure up to the other vendors we had help us organize the party. In fact, every time I think of my party, I think about how he did not do what I asked, which was to introduce people, follow a simple schedule, which he couldn't, there was no cake introduced because he skipped that part, yes, at a birthday party!!! We brought home 85% of the cake. Insane. He did not engage people at all, he went and started processes without having all the props to finish and would announce on the microphone, where's the blindfold for the pinata, or where are the prizes for this, after announcing winners, which was subpar. He told one of my guests that he wouldn't play a request for them, that I put on the request list on his party website for them. Unacceptable. What he did do that we didn't ask for or want.... a group picture of 100 people (it was 80 degrees and no one wanted to stand that close for that long), two slow dances with the birthday boy and me, his wife, (it was a bday party, not a wedding), and asked for people to say something nice about the bday boy (are you kidding me?, again, not a wedding), it was super awkward, so I took the microphone. When I wanted to show him how I wanted him to introduce people, which he clearly felt uncomfortable doing, he pulled the microphone away and said "are you going to fight me for the microphone?" and people heard!!! There's more but you get the idea. Do not hire this guy unless you are looking for a standard, cheesy, wedding announcer who doesn't follow instructions that takes him down the road of originality, which is what I was looking for, so I suggest you try another service, maybe gigmasters or Party Help by Joan for an original DJ. I wish I did.
