User1397185 Sent on 10/23/2013808DJ's did an excellent job at my wedding. My venue was a little difficult since it had different levels and areas but 808DJ's were able to provide music/sound to each level. I gave them all 5's because the day of my wedding we planned it to be an open outdoor ceremony but when the rain came pouring down all plans changed and we had to shove all guest into a stuffy little pavilion, 808DJ's were able to adjust to the situation and made sure it was everything I wanted it to be. I also had a lot of people trying to be in control of my day, and everytime they would try to change something Bud stood his ground and responded "let me check with the bride". I had the unlimited package which included DJ, EMCEE, up lighting, our names projected onto the dance floor, photo booth, and props. The DJ had everybody dancing, from toddlers to grandma's, and the photobooth was a hit with all ages. They even provided a hook up for our friend to play music with his guitar at the cocktail hour. I would definitely recommend 808DJ's to anybody throwing a party. -

User891476 Sent on 08/07/2012I'm so happy to have hired 808DJs for my wedding! The DJ was professional and played all the music we and our guests wanted. They did a great job with the lightning, the monogram, and recording and playing our voice over. They also provided us with a photo booth and a photographer who did a beautiful job. I would recommend them to anyone because they provided me with exceptional services from the moment I call them and because they provided the most reasonable prices from all the DJ companies I contacted. -
User923731 Sent on 09/05/2012808 DJ's provided a very nice and professional DJ and MC for our wedding in Hauula, HI. We traveled to Hawaii from California, and had to meet with 808 DJ's last minute. They worked with our schedule, and put it all together fast and smooth. They were also very flexible, our wedding ended up starting a little over an hour later due to bad car accident. They made the reception fun and entertaining. Good music, nice, and professional. Thank you 808 DJ's!!!

Taryn Sent on 05/15/2012I'm not usually one to give perfect ratings across the board but 808 DJs sincerely excelled in every one of these categories.
For those of you have begun your search for vendors on Oahu you may have learned that the responsiveness on the island isn't quite what it is here on teh mainland, but not with these guys. They were extrememly responsive each time I contacted them.
You may also be expereinceing some of the sticker shock of hosting a wedding in HI but their pricing far exceeds any of their competitors. Given how good their pricing was I had resigned myself to the fact that I was most likely going to get a midgrade vendor but that was okay with me given our bidget considerations. This could not have been further from the truth. These guys are a class act and I was thoroughly impressed.
I think most impressive of all was their fullfulmient of my last minute requests. I had received a form from them to fill in all my song requests and special dances, etc. With all the madnes going on I didn't send the list to my DJ, Scott, until 10am the morning of! I told him I completely understood if it was too late and to my absolute surprise that evening my songs began to play. Now that's impressive.
In addition, they accommodated last minute schedule changes and additions, not to mention they continued to play past the cut-off time.
The lighting was gorgeous, so professionally done, and so affordable!!!
I have nothing negative to say and would recommend these guys to all my friends and family. In fact I would practically insist they use them! :o) -
User1203671 Sent on 06/17/2013This vendor charged us for an extra hour up because of a schedule change we requested (setting up during the ceremony did not seem like a good idea). On the wedding day the crew arrived late and agreed to rebate us for the time we paid for but did not get. Since then, company has refused to return part or all of the extra charge. In trying to get a rebate, the company argued that the service was good (meaning they played the songs asked for and knew how to DJ) and therefore we should pay the extra charge. Be careful with these folks when it comes to the fees.

Everything else was not. First off, they are awful about returning emails. When they do, they are wrong about everything! I kept getting emails about stuff that I had confirmed via email with Bud months ago. I met with Bud a week before the wedding (by the way you have to contact them - they will not initiate contact) & after talking to him sent an updated email about everything we had talked about.
Well, they never updated their files. They had the wrong order for our wedding, didn't have our exit song, & cut off my father-daughter dance at 2 minutes when I had asked them to fade it out at 3. WORST OF ALL,my friend had used them for her wedding 2 months before, & THEY MENTIONED MY FRIEND and HER HUSBAND'S NAMES MORE THAN MINE AND MY HUSBAND!!!Also, they kept talking about my friend's wedding as if everyone at my wedding had been there (only me and my friend had).
It was rude, insulting, totally inappropriate, and made me cry! In addition, my biggest thing for our DJ was that I did not want a dance party wedding (like my friend had). But I made the mistake of telling him that if he wanted to he could play songs that were not on our list. I didn't think that he would take that to mean don't play anything on our list. I had 4 people go up and ask him to play my music that night, he played one song. I WENT UP AND ASKED HIM TO PLAY MY MUSIC, he played 2 more songs all night. It really made me sad and hurt that they didn't pay attention to what I wanted at all, and that they kept mentioning my friend and her husband.
AS a warning: after I wrote this review I received an email at my personal email stating that I didn't tell the truth in this review, and was "very difficult to work with." I do not think that is professional. -
User1354404 Sent on 09/29/2013Worst company ever. Unprofessional, rude, and very argumentative with us. It was my sisters wedding, and they failed miserably at what they did. When my sister asked to for some sort of compensation, they basically told her to go screw herself. They didn't even take a minute to reason with her.

User1760118 Sent on 08/12/2014I used 808 for my wedding and I have absolutely NOTHING positive to say. We used him during our ceremony and reception. They didn't have the requested songs, which was nothing out of the ordinary top wedding songs. They didn't even have the typical bridal chorus, our photographer downloaded the song on his phone and is what played, which I didn't know about until the following day. He also refused to make any MC announcements, which all we were asking for was for him to welcome us at the start of the reception to our small wedding party of 20. He was completely RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. I called him after the wedding, to which he agreed to refund me half my money, but after returning from our honeymoon I never received it. I followed up with him and he said he changed his mind. Do NOT use him EVER.
