    My husband and I got married in Colorado, but have a lot of family in Utah, so we decided to have a reception there to make it easier on everyone. Planning a reception across state lines could have been a major headache, but 5th East Hall made it super easy. They will provide as few or as many services as you require, offering linens, flowers, cake, catering, decor rentals, etc, but also accommodating if you choose to bring in any of these things on your own.

    I consulted with Daphne via phone and email to plan the whole thing, and she was very helpful, suggesting products and services that would fit my needs, but without ever pushing too hard.

    We opted for a brunch reception, making the hall rental very reasonable, and received discounts on linen rentals with our catering package. The food was delicious (they'll even package your leftovers to take home, if you ask in advance!), and the staff was super helpful at every step of the way.

    This venue is a good, affordable option in the sea of full-service reception halls in the Salt Lake area.

    I live in Texas, but my fiance and I wanted a destination mountain wedding, so we decided to get married in the Payson Utah LDS temple. Being a destination wedding, wedding planning was much more difficult as I had to do everything from a distance. I'm so glad that I found 5th East Hall on a wedding website search. Their venue packages included everything I needed except for the DJ and photographer. They even had an on-sight wedding planner who was supremely helpful in every aspect of my wedding planning and wedding day. 5th East Hall did my decorations to match my theme (stargazing) and my colors (royal blue, black, and indigo). Their ceiling even matched my theme with a black background filled with tiny white lights that looked like stars. There was even an indoor waterfall, which I had my head table set up by. The whole layout of the venue was gorgeous with an entrance foyer, reception hall, and separate bridal room. They did the exact centerpieces I wanted (which I found on pinterest). They even did my decoration flowers and my cake--which was delicious. Their wedding package even included the catering, and I was able to have my hand-served dinner complete with kid meal options. Additionally, they set up all my seating place cards. I'm very impressed with their service as they were easy to get a hold of either by phone or email. They were very accommodating with all my requests and even last-minute changes. I highly recommend 5th East Hall as an excellent venue for events and event planning.

    I began planning my wedding with another vendor. What a horrible experience. He was rude and pushy. He seemed to have an idea of how a wedding "should" go rather than what I wanted. I ended up losing my deposit to cancel with him and found Wedding Dreamer 5th East Hall. What a breath of fresh air! Kristy and Kyle were so patient and willing to offer their suggestions where needed, or let me add my own ideas. They planned everything for me. I'm telling everyone I know to run like heck from the reception center I first booked with and straight to 5th East Hall.

    I wouldn't go to ANY OTHER COMPANY for wedding planning! Christy and Kyle are THE best, providing my husband and I a 'dream come true' wedding, and the start to a blissful honeymoon! Their decor, flowers, and venues are one of a kind, and customized to what YOU want, EXACTLY. They also have a beautiful bed and breakfast with amazing themed rooms. The whole experience was enough to take my breath away, and inspire me!

    Store bought cookies

    We paid over $4000 to have our reception at 5th East Hall, this was back in March of 2015. Everything was beautiful and I loved how they did everything, my major complaint though is that when we showed up to the reception- the had store bought cookies at our milk and cookies bar!!! I paid over $1000 for the catering at the reception! And I’m not talking like Costco chocolate chip cookies- I’m talking 99 cent packages of wafer cookies and Oreos and chips ahoy!!!! For $1000!!! I was so disappointed! The cake was beautiful and everything else was great, that just really brought down the rating for me :(

    It was WAY over priced for what it was. The pictures suggest a luxury experience, but it's kind of dumpy and built into the back of a strip mall.

    For your money, you get:
    * Fake plants that somehow look dead
    * Drop-tile ceiling
    * No windows
    * To park in a strip mall overnight
    * A squeaky bed
    * Broken tub faucet
    * Dirty ventilation
    * Weird white water from the tap

    For $185, I expected an actual luxury experience. Next time we'll just go to an actual nice hotel and get an expensive room.

    We stayed from a Sunday to a Monday and didn't see any staff at all. We left at 9:00 AM and crepes don't start till 9:30, so we didn't get or expect to see those, however since no staff was there, the breakfast area hadn't been restocked yet. There was a little left over orange juice and a dirty milk pitcher still in the fridge, a few baby bell cheeses and a few pieces of fruit left.

    There also wasn't any shampoo. They provided soap, body lotion, and conditioner, but no shampoo.

    The linens and towels were clean, and the DVD selection was decent. The room itself was clean (other than the dusty drop ceiling tiles and bathroom fan cover). We were looking for a getaway and did have a good time. I'm just lucky my wife is a good sport.

    We were in the Cancun room.

    Terrible!

    WORST company!!! I am so disappointed with the service from this company. I’m ashamed for them that they operate to steal people’s money. Due to COVID we gave them plenty notice that due to all of our family being in lockdown we couldn’t even get married so there’s no point in a recepetion we wanted to move our date but they wanted to charge us an additional $750 on top of the $1500 we already paid RIDICULOUS! Never use them for anything!

    5th East Hall - RECEPTIONS & EVENT CENTER's reply:

    We are sorry that we could not work things out for your party again. We did provide a free change of date due to COVID 19 from your original date of May 9th to August 7th. With a third date change, we would have lost revenue on two dates. We are a small family business and are struggling like everyone else. With the government allowing us to have our venue open, we felt it was fair to resume our “change date” standard in order to not have a full loss on two dates.
