514: gorgeous and versatile

514 was the perfect space for our December 8th wedding. The reception area is a really cool “blank slate” that you can make whatever you want! They also provide a lot of useful help and support including vendor recommendations and Day of Coordination through MAVEN (which was absolutely essential)! The staff was professional, easy to work with, and responsive throughout the planning process. You can tell that they are experts in their field and have a lot of good relationships with vendors. We had 127 guests, and people raved about how the reception space seemed so intimate for the ceremony, yet large and open once it was flipped and made ready for dinner and dancing! It’s really a magical space. The “Green Room” was a perfect place for cocktail hour, with plenty of spaces for guests to sit or stand, as well as a beautiful plant wall we used as a photo backdrop. And the Bridal Suite was beautiful, large, and full of natural light, even on a cloudy December day! We highly recommend booking 514 for your wedding or other event! You won’t regret it.

Working with Lindsey at 514 was amazing. She was very helpful and able to answer all my questions/concerns. She directed me towards some amazing vendors and gave me great ideas on how to use the space. My guests all loved the venue, and my husband and I couldn’t be happier with everything!

514 Studios is an amazing venue - first, we loved their exposed brick aesthetic. You can dress it up (or dress it down?) however you'd like! Then, there's Alison - she's amazing and so easy to work with; I always felt like she went above and beyond in quickly replying and helping us find the best vendors for our wedding.

The cost was initially a bit more than what we were looking to spend on a venue, but it was worth every penny. Having the wonderful support of the ladies at Maven on our Wedding Day made everything go perfectly. Trust me, it's worth the price!!!

We used 514 Studios for our wedding ceremony and reception. We had about 150 guests. The space was beautiful and unique which was exactly what we were looking for. Some simple twinkle lights and the exposed brick create such a beautiful space so easily! The outdoor area was perfect for fresh air and games/hanging out under the stars. The back room is beautiful for getting ready and using it to relax throughout the day. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. Very professional and talented - they know what they are doing! I would recommend 514 highly. Our experience was perfect and they are the reason we had the beautiful wedding day and reception we were looking for! I don't know what I would have done without them! Thank you 514!!

I simply cannot say enough about Alison and the gang at 514 Studios. The space itself was exactly what we were looking for - spaces indoors and out with an industrial feel. 514 was also perfectly located for our guests - as both of us had family and friends come in from out of town. The Marriott within a 2 blocks allowed people to walk on over and have a great time. No hiring extra shuttles or buses or having anyone negotiate traffic. From the moment we toured, Alison was nothing short of completely accommodating. I always received a response back within the day - if not the hour. She helped us find our amazing caterer (Green Mangos) and our lighting guy (Phos), AND we were able to bring in our own alcohol, which saved us so much money. Our day-of coordinator through Maeven, Bre, made our day go off without a hitch. Working with 514 was amazing and they helped make our day incredibly special and stress-free.

We made the space our own and loved it! The onsite bridal suite was perfect for hair, makeup, and getting dressed. I'm so glad the event space came with a day-of-coordinator. Our wedding was perfect.

Great venue where I could make all my Pinterest wedding dreams come true! I loved the fact that I could select my own vendors and do exactly what I wanted in terms of decor, food selection, and not to mention the huge cost savings of supplying our own liquor and hiring a bartender. We had both our ceremony and reception and 514 and rented a tent that was set up in the parking lot adjacent to the building. We got married at the end of November so needed a place where our guests could hangout/cocktail hour while the space was being flipped. It worked out great! We had 150 people and the tent ended up being a perfect spot for people to catch some fresh air during the night, we also had our photo booth out there. I would say if your guest count is under 160, Studio 514 is just right, anything over and it would be too tight. We live in NYC so were planning from a distance. Alison and Chelsey were amazing to work with and answered my million questions, making planning stress free. Also having Chelsey as the day of coordinator was awesome. She executed everything I wanted perfectly and I didn't have to worry about a thing on the wedding day. They also took care of the clean up and packed our car with gifts and things we had brought to the venue. Everything was so perfect, everyone kept on telling us how beautiful the venue was. We loved how original we co,uld get with the space and have it be a true reflection of us. Loved, loved, loved what we could do with Studio 514!!!

Planning our reception with 514 was pretty seamless. Even with an unexpected change of coordinator, the studio manager provided a new contact within hours of the change. The entire team comes equipped with an abundance of knowledge, and they are eager to make your event the best it can possibly be. Truly the best venue we could have chosen, with the most genuine staff!

everyone at 514 is exceptionally friendly and helpful - we truly enjoyed working with them and they were always extremely responsive and accommodating to every request/question we had throughout the process. we absolutely loved beauty of the space, but we booked them because of the flexibility in using whatever vendors we wanted and the very reasonable price. they have a lot of inventory in-house, which is particularly helpful if you're planning a somewhat non-traditional event or using non-traditional vendors (e.g. food trucks, as we were). they made everything so easy and were just a joy to work with, can't recommend 514 highly enough. literally the only drawback i can think of is the space is only large enough to accommodate a small to medium sized party seated, but that wasn't an issue for us.

514 Studios was great. I am so glad I used them for their event space. Their staff was easy to get a hold of, and I felt comfortable that everything would work out before the event took place. Their staff was very professional, as I had several meetings with them. They helped me create a timeline that If felt comfortable with. On the day of, they had staff around to make sure everything fell into place and worked, like the slide show and microphone. I would definitely recommend using 514 Studios for your event. It really allowed my family to enjoy the day, and not have to worry about a thing.

We loved having our wedding reception at 514 Studios!! It was an incredible space. We brought in Gastrotruck, Rustica bakery, and high end liquor. Good food with a laid back vibe for us and we could have all that and more stuff 514.

My husband and I took a lot of time looking for the perfect venue for our industrial theme wedding. When we visited the location, it fit the bill. The price was great compared to the other locations on our list. They did not require any catering vendors which helped us stay in budget too. There was great flexibility to design and set up the way we dreamed. They even had a projector that we used for a photo slide show of my husband and I during the cocktail hour. They had just switched over the lighting to have dimmers which made dancing and the mood much more fun. The drive up back delivery door made it easy for our other vendors to deliver through. The only complaint we had was the limited parking.

Words cannot begin to describe how amazing 514 Studios was to work with. It was the perfect place to hold our wedding reception. If you are looking for a modern, unique, and special place to hold your wedding reception look no further. Our guests could not stop raving about how cool, interesting, and perfect our venue was. The industrious feel coupled with the relaxed atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for to hold a great party. The staff at 514 were professional, courteous, and extremely easy to work with. They went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect and responded in a timely fashion. They provided some great recommendation on other vendors as well that fit perfectly within our theme of modern classic glam. We couldn't be more happy with our experience with 514 Studios and if we had to do it all over again we wouldn't change a thing. In fact, we are looking for more reasons to rent out the warehouse again down the road.

My fiancé and I are both from Minneapolis so we have seen our fair share of wedding venues prior to looking for one for our own wedding. When we came across 514 Studios and saw the space we knew it was perfect!

First of all the staff is phenomenal to work with and Chelsey the wedding coordinator is a dream come true! They ensured everything about the day was perfect! Second the space has the rustic feel with the modern convenience and has a great outdoor space! Even our caterer raved about the great prep space in the back!!

I honestly recommend anyone looking for a wedding venue to check out 514 Studios...I couldn't have imagined my wedding being any more wonderful and stress free than it was and it was certainly due in part to them!!

514 is a great venue if you are looking for a more diy wedding. It helped us save a lot of money and everyone was very easy to work with. I would highly recommend the space. Our wedding coordinator, Chelsey, was fantastic and made everything go very smoothly. It would have been a much more stressful day without her.

OMG, I love the 514 studio, I would recommend it to anyone, if fact I'm hoping my cousin uses the venue for her wedding, I want to party there again! I had the best caterer, Cynthia at never enough thyme catering, she made my food dreams come true!

We would not have chosen any other place to have our wedding reception! Owners were personable, available, and really helpful when it came to figuring out what we needed to take are of ourselves as far as bringing in vendors for seating, food, alcohol, and DJ. It's a beautiful space in a great location and very reasonably priced. We loved the brick walls, full kitchen and open garage door during the summertime. Highly recommend this place for any event!

The staff at 514 Studios helped out greatly on the day of our wedding by being very responsive and flexible. We had staff available from 9AM to the end of our event around 1AM, and helped us with some of the teardown as well. Their space is an amazing open canvas which allows you to really create a unique and personal event. This is the only event space in MPLS that you'll find which allows this type of personalization for your big day.
Highly recommended!!!

I was looking for an unique and affordable venue to get married. So I hopped on yelp and found 514 as one of the highest ratings. After reading through various reviews and checking out their website, I knew this was the place I HAD to get married. The venue itself was the biggest factor that sold me. The brick wall has beautiful and "raw" warm tones that go perfect with pretty much any occasion. I loved that their is a garage door that opens to the outside! Everything about this place screamed good vibes.

Conor was the main man that helped me out. We set up a tour of the venue before hand so I can see it up close.He was very flexible with times and more than willing to let us come in on several other times prior to the wedding. The staff is extremely flexible and prompt to respond to emails. They offer a few different services, one in which was the tear down service. Best money spent in this entire wedding planning process! After the event, they had staff come cleaned up and deliver all of our belongings to our house!

If you are looking for an unique and artsy space, 514 Studios is a great option. I would highly recommend it!

If you are like me and want something different, something unique, something affordable and something customizable to exactly what I want......run, don't walk to 514 Studios!

We just had our wedding last weekend and the group there helped make it perfect! We chose the space first and foremost for location and affordability. You are in downtown Minneapolis in the super hot North Loop neighborhood and you can afford it, all the while choosing how you want the space to look because it is a blank slate!

One of the biggest draws for us too is that you do not have to choose a certain vendor or have minimums to meet. You get to choose the caterer you want, the bartender you want, the DJ you want.

Seriously, I wouldn't have wanted my big day any where else.

514 Studios was the perfect place for my wedding! It is a unique space, the size was perfect for my 150 guest. The North Loop location is close to Downtown Mpls but off the beaten path just enough to make parking a non-issue. The cost was minimal and great for people with a tight budget.

I really could not be happier with how everything turned out! The owners and staff I worked with at 514 were very easy going and friendly. They were so wonderful to work with and really helped negated all the crazy last minute coordination stuff.

514 Studios exceeded all my expectations – and I highly recommend them to everyone!

514 Studios is awesome! Our ceremony got rained out so we ended up having to hold the ceremony + reception at 514. The switch went so smoothly, you'd think we planned it all along (we didn't). Wayne was our attendant and he was helpful and attentive to our needs. The space is plenty big for 150+ people and the doors to the outside allow you to have an indoor/outdoor feel. Highly, highly recommend 514 for events and receptions!

The reason for the half-star deduction on flexibility is since our reception started so late (due to the ceremony being pushed back because of weather) it was somewhat short--because 514 has a strict rule to be out by 1 AM. I would have liked to push that back to 2 AM since we still had most of our guests present at midnight when cleanup started, but that wasn't an option. That being said, it was a very minor thing and something nearly all weddings will never have to experience. Otherwise, 514 is a great venue with excellent ownership and we enjoyed working with them to make the day as great as possible.

We are very happy with our decision to go with 514 Studios. They did a great job and gave us complete flexibility when it came to selecting vendors for food and decor. They promptly resolved an issue with one of the speakers that we noticed during a sound check. They repaired the speaker on the spot and had everything up and running with plenty of time to spare. There were also lots of great spots for doing photographs within a couple blocks of the venue. If you do a summer wedding at 514, I'd recommend renting some nice floor fans. They have a window AC unit that kept things cool during the ceremony, however, we are glad that we rented four big floor fans for the reception. They kept the room comfortable even after opening the garage door. It was 80 degrees and sunny the day of our event and our ceremony started at 4pm.

I would definitely recommend this venue to others!

We contracted with this venue when they were in a state of transition. Initially the contract was for the space and 150 chairs only. In the months leading up to the wedding, they added on a day-of coordinator which was invaluable and made all tables/chairs/bars available at no extra charge. Especially helpful was the day of coordinator and her team who took down everything at the end of the night and delivered to the bride's home. While initially I thought the cost was high, in the end it was a great value. Would definitely recommend this venue.

It was a bit confusing at first as to who was the main contact person as I was working with the venue, but to their credit, they seemed to be undergoing a lot of operational changes at the time. As my event got closer they were really on the ball. The coordinator services they provided were really great (Chelsey was wonderful!) and I love that they also now offer more rental items like tables and chairs. Very unique venue, as far as offerings and aesthetics! I also really liked that we could bring in any vendors we wanted for food/bar/etc. That ended up saving us a lot of money in the end.

We just had our wedding here and it was truly fantastic! Queer friendly and great to work with. We appreciated the upfront pricing with no hidden fees. It is a VERY DIY space, so be aware of that and costs that are associated with such a space. Overall we loved it, guests loved it, and the staff was very helpful. Chelsea, the day of wedding planner/magician was outstanding and made it as stress free of a day as it could be.

514 Studios was a wonderful location for our wedding. The wedding coordinators were hands-down amazing. I couldn't have done it all without Chelsey and Lindsay - They did everything from table arrangements, to setting up our iPads for overseas Skype guests, to telling me that I needed to reapply my lipstick. The venue was so lovely. The back room was perfect for our bridal party to relax and prepare and the layout was great. Our wedding was about 80 guests and it was the perfect size (although you could definitely comfortably have more people). We did have a little bit of a technical glitch during the night, but it didn't stop us from having the best time ever. We were able to bring in all our own vendors and alcohol - it made the day really personalised and, well, perfect.

I loved the look of the 514 Studios venue, and the flexibility the space provided. The manager suggested renting the next door coffee shop for extra space, which worked perfectly for our event. It was great that we were able to bring in any food vendor we wanted, and could also bring in our own beverages. That helped with costs a lot! We were able to have a food truck and tent out in the back area, which was great to have indoor and outdoor space options for our guests. The space also worked out great for the band that played at the wedding--they thought it was great! I do wish there were more bathrooms--I know the lines got a bit long for our wedding guests.

514 Studios allowed me to use some of their lighting equipment which added to the ambience of my event. This was something they setup for our event so it was one less thing we needed to take care of on our wedding day. The studio also provided a suggested vendor list, which was very helpful and saved me quite a bit of time researching vendors online.

514 was a great location and venue for our wedding reception. The day of the reception, Jules was very helpful and avaiable to support if and when needed. Unfortunately, we had some trouble with coordination leading up the event and following, and were mislead when booking that we wouldn't need to clear out completely Saturday night. In addition, when we arrived Saturday morning to set up, the party from Friday night hadn't cleared out themselves, which was frustrating.
