  Great DJ overall

  Scott was very easy to work with and drove way out of his way to our chosen venue. He was great to work with, professional, and accommodating. His photo booth was a big hit! We had minor technical issues with the mic cutting out during our speeches but it wasn’t a huge deal. Overall would recommend.

  Cancelled at last Minute and ahs not giving our Deposit back

  1st Choice Dj was booked at Eagles Mere Country Club on New Years Eve and They cancelled at the last minute, leaving us struggling to find new DJ. We gave him a deposit and to this date 3/8/2023 he has not returned our deposit. This is not professional. So Be Aware

  Canceled the day of my wedding

  Everything seemed to be working out perfectly until the day of our wedding. I reached out to Scott while I was setting up and he said he couldn't come that there was a death in the family and he would be in touch next week. No replacement was sent or even a suggestion. We had to scramble the day of, hours before to get a last-minute DJ. I gave him two weeks, then after not hearing from him, I reached out via text and email about the refund. Scott proceeded to give me an attitude about the money and told me he would be making payments. Essentially he was paying me every 2 weeks a portion of the refund... Read more

Wedding Wire shouldn't be endorsing this man, and I see that there are several other 1 star reviews that have similar experiences, so how does his business have over 4 stars? I am so disappointed, having good music at our event was really important to me and I handpicked every song from the beginning till the end of the day and none of those songs were played because I had to hire someone just a few hours beforehand and had zero prep time to communicate with the new DJ, even though I am grateful for him, he did a great job on short notice. If you are looking for a DJ in the area, go with Rockin Ray Hinkle.

  Yes, I didn't show up. My Uncle died that morning and I couldn't go. I apologized and was in the process of returning all of Jamie's money. She contacted me before the 2nd payment was being made and accused me of having a attitude. Then I get a letter from the BBB. I made the second payment, but she wasn't happy.

  Con Artist

  My daughter and son-in-law were provided Scott's name by their venue. My daughter called and made the arrangements for their wedding, then COVID hit. After changing the date and the venue several times, they finally had to cancel their date.
  When writing to Scott via email informing him of their unfortunate decision they had no control over, they requested their money be refunded. Scott told them that he was essentially out of business due to COVID, he paid for leads, and a new event planner and offered them $400 for literally doing nothing. He never even met them in person. He was charging them for his choice to be in business.

  They will now be taking him to court for breach of contract after speaking to an attorney. He cannot use COVID to bilk couples out of their money for doing nothing. After reading some of the other reviews, I see this seems to be a pattern of Scotts. He spends the money before the event and then when it falls apart, he has no money to make things right. Great business plan! Definitely not a first choice..

  Too many mistakes that he couldn't fix.

  Groom of a wedding scott was hired for. First, as the bride was ready to walk down the aisle and everyone is waiting and anticipating it, this guy has to ask what song he's supposed to play even after we had submitted the entire playlist for every occasion as he requested. Then, he couldn't get his equipment to work and had to play the song she walked down the aisle to from his phone, and we got to enjoy some nice commercials before finally being able to proceed with the ceremony. He didn't fix it, the caterer did. Then it took him another 10-15 minutes trying to compose himself to get the father of the bride dance going. Fortunately our photographer helped the awkward time pass for everyone on the stage by getting a lot of pictures which helped. After this debacle, one of the owners of the venue, who had a degree in IT, stepped in and fixed the equipment issues for the DJ. There's a theme with this guy where he needs other people to fix his problems, and they weren't his staff. Finally, he approached me and the bride asking about the bouquet and garter toss, and I said maybe even just the bouquet toss, maybe hoping he was competent enough to do that. Guy has the nerve to look around and say "I don't think there are enough single ladies here." One, there were plenty, and two, that's not your call to make, we hired you, but forget it if you clearly can't do your job and need some lame excuse to cop out. If you hire this DJ, you better hope your caterer and venue owners are good enough and there to fix his mistakes, because he's not competent enough to fix his own. We had a concern about a bad review that we had asked him about beforehand, but he reassured us that everything will be okay. Don't make the mistake we did, Scott will just take your money and run. All in all, just know he's overcompensating when he named his company 1st choice DJ service.

  This is the mother of the bride spouting off on things she does not know anything about. I have 30 years of experience in DJing weddings. Also, it was a very hot day. Temperatures were in the 90’s and high humidity on this day.
  The bride put 4 songs in for the ceremony music, and I found out when they lined up for the ceremony, she only needed 3 songs. The song for her to walk in was Michael Marc Canon in D which was played. That is the song she had requested.

  I reached out to him the day prior to our wedding, & was told he cannot make it. Note that his site states that, there are multiple employees.
  We purchased frames for every guests & props as well in preparation for the booth.
  He had no intentions of showing up or even reaching out to us.
  He refused to refund our deposit.
  It took over a month of texting & contacting a lawyer to get our refund back.
  He intends to scam hard working people out of their money & had no remorse of his actions.
  Thankfully we did not book him as a DJ, then we would have been really screwed.

  My family always emphasized how your DJ can make or break your wedding. Well Scott definitely made it! From the first moment we met him at a bridal expo he was confident and sure that we would be DJing our wedding. We met a few times beforehand and he was so outgoing and easy to work with! The wedding day was perfect. The events (games, garter, bouquet, etc) were so fun and engaging. The songs were great and he really kept the party going! I don't know that a single person had a bad time!

  Scott was very easy to work with and very understanding with last minute changes because of weather. There was music from start to finish a total of 7 hours . Everyone had a great time and the mix of music was awesome. He kept the evening fun and flowing. He made the reception about Nick and Sierra as well as the guests.

  My only comment to help would be the priority songs that were chosen and put on the website by the couple should be played before requests or make sure that all priority songs are played before all the requests, other than that, it was all wonderful.

  Scott did both my ceremony and reception. The songs he picked out for my ceremony were absolutely beautiful. Scott did an awesome job interacting with the guests and keeping everything running smooth. We also got our photo booth through him. Which he offers a discount if you do both. Instead of taking pictures with my husband and spending time with my family and guests I spent my time trying to make sure this substitute DJ knew how to pronounce names, the order of our procession, and song list. To no surprise this man was a disaster. He didn’t do the procession correctly, he mispronounced names, forgot my maid of honor, and one of our guests actually had to step in and take over the DJ area. This was the only part of my wedding that was a complete failure.
  I never heard from Scott to explain what had occurred and why someone else was there to DJ my reception especially after the ceremony had gone as planned.
