The best choice for our wedding day

The 173 Carlyle House was the absolute perfect venue for our special day. We had our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception there with almost 200 guests, and their venue space and staff accommodated for us exceptionally well! My favorite thing about the Carlyle House is its flexibility and the ability to personalize decor and details for your event, as well as it's reasonable and extremely affordable pricing.

Throughout the entire planning process (only 4 months), Gerise was helpful, responsive, and offered her expertise and support whenever needed. I had multiple meetings, calls, and walkthroughs to plan and finalize everything, and she was more than accommodating each time I reached out.

The house itself is classy, elegant, and charming, which is exactly what I was envisioning for our wedding. The staff and catering were wonderful and we received many compliments from our guests on their service. I hope we have another reason to use them again in the future!

We highly recommend the 173 Carlyle House for any special event!

Our daughters wedding April 20th, 2024

Gerise made the planning fun and easy. She was always available for any questions. The Carlyle House is a beautiful venue and was a fabulous location for our daughters wedding. The food was wonderful and the staff was very attractive. We would definitely recommend The Carlyle House for your special event.

Truly The Best Venue

I can't say enough good things about the Carlyle House! It was perfect for our 150-person May wedding. They were, without a doubt, my favorite vendor to work with. The year leading up to the wedding, Gerise answered every single email and question I had promptly. You'll find during the wedding planning process that that kind of prompt communication is incredibly rare. They're incredibly experienced, so if you have any sort of off-the-wall idea, they've done a wedding like that before and can send you a layout and ideas around that. Weddings are expensive, and while we still spent more than we hoped originally, it's so great they don't try to price gouge you every step of the way like some places. Day of, we were treated very luxuriously, there were plates made up for the groom and I from the buffet line and cocktail hour by their staff, and our families felt well taken care of as well. We were able to be pretty minimal on the decor, too, as the venue is so beautiful, and there are beautiful photo opportunities everywhere. A lot of chairs, tables, and linens are included which will also save you money. The weather was touch and go day of our wedding, and apparently they kept moving the ceremony back and forth outdoors to indoors back to outdoors unbeknownst to me as the rain kept stopping and starting, which was incredibly nice of them, and we were ultimately able to get married outdoors! The paved terrace is wonderful for outdoor ceremonies since it dries quickly. They also allowed us to come a little early for photos without charge, because the rain was going to ruin our plans for photos at the park. We LOVED the fried chicken, and the shrimp and grits martini station in particular, and the charcuterie and hummus spreads were gorgeous during cocktail hour. Our bartenders followed our instructions perfectly for our signature cocktails and garnished them beautifully. If your friends are degenerates like mine, be sure to ask the bartenders not to allow shots--unlike a lot of other event venues, they'll allow it and it probably put a few of our guests over the edge by the end of the night! The stories were hilarious though so many thanks to the Carlyle House for helping us throw the beautiful ceremony and the raging reception I dreamed of!

A gem of a venue

Beautiful venue. Ideal for a small to midsize wedding. Gerise is absolutely wonderful. She answered all my emails in a timely manner, throughout the entire process. The prices can’t be beat (especially if you can book an off-season date). The food was great, the staff was great. The only small complaint is the venue doesn’t really have a true designated groom’s suite, but that wasn’t a big deal for us.

We recently had the privilege of celebrating the most magical day of our lives at the enchanting 173 Carlyle House, and we simply cannot express how thrilled we are with the entire experience! From the moment we stepped foot on the grounds until the last guest bid us farewell, every detail was executed flawlessly, making our special day an unforgettable celebration of love and joy.

The staff at 173 Carlyle House went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding was nothing short of perfection. From the very beginning of the planning process, they were attentive, accommodating, and genuinely excited to be part of our big day. The Carlyle House

Highly recommend the Carlyle House for any Atlanta-based couple! Gerise was great to work with, the venue was beautiful, and everything was reasonably priced (price spent includes food, venue, coordinator, tablecloths, and tip. Price varies based of the menu chosen. We brought in our own dessert). Our guests had a great time too!

Carlyle House is awesome!

The Carlyle house and it's staff did not disappoint! Gerise, the coordinator was on top of every detail, the staff is courteous and professional and the food is delicious. It is hard to find venues with an in-house chef, but Carlyle has one - and they are excellent! I highly recommend this venue - it is beautiful and hits all the marks! I also like that you can use your own floral and music vendors.

Beautiful venue

Pizza Themed Party

Incredible amazing beautiful perfect!

I can't say enough about how AMAZING this venue was! From start to finish our experience was TOP-NOTCH. Gerise was helpful, professional, and just all-around awesome! She guided us every step of the way, made sure we had all of our questions answered and handled the big day with precision and perfection! The venue itself is GORGEOUS. It was the perfect space for our reception and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The prices are the BEST around! The venue is privately owned and it shows in their pride in their work and the employees. The food was actually AMAZING. All of our guests were so happy and left with full bellies! We loved the flexibility of being able to supply our own liquor for the bar, bringing in our own DJ and photographer. We chose to get our cake from the venue and we LOVED it! All around amazing experience! I am sad it is over and will try to find another event in the future to utilize this space and service because it was just that great! Affordable and Attractive venue/Attentive Coordinator

While you may find other venues that are lovely they will all be missing the "Gerise" factor!
- She was upfront and honest on pricing.
- She took our needs for a totally gluten and dairy free menu VERY seriously.
- She answered emails and phone calls promptly and allowed multiple visits to the venue to visualize and try out items in the space.
- Other vendors raved about her and the culture of the venue as well.
We had around 170 guest. We filled up the ballroom but with the space of the house and the beautiful yard and patio people had plenty of places to mingle and visit.
173 Carlyle is a great value and much of that value is because of Gerise! It was great to know we could depend on her.

Don't Hesitate-Book 173 Carlyle House

We had our wedding reception at The 173 Carlyle House on March 27, 2021. Words cannot describe how absolutely AMAZING everything was! Working with Gerise was a breeze and she made everything so easy for us. I don't think most wedding food is good, but the food was unbelievable- we are still getting compliments on how good the food was! The bartenders were great and handled our party of 225 no problem! The bourbon bar was a HUGE hit. Everything at The 173 Carlyle House was so immaculately clean and beautiful. Everything was better than we ever could've imagined. The location was perfect for taking pictures in Downtown Norcross and Lillian Webb Park. We have gotten so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was, the staff, and the food. We will never forget how unbelievable March 27, 2021 was thanks to The 173 Carlyle House and Gerise! We will recommend The 173 Carlyle House to everyone!

A night to remember

My daughter's wedding at the Carlyle House was absolutely a dream come true. We owe this to Gerise. She is the sweetest, most caring person you will ever meet. No detail is too big or too small for her and she takes a personal interest in everything you do. She was there every step of the way and responds so quickly to any questions you may have. She is honest and caring from beginning to end. The venue is beautiful inside and outside. The staff are amazing. The food is delicious. Best Venue Ever!

Our venue cancelled just 50 days out due to COVID and a friend suggested 173 Carlyle House. So glad they did! The event coordinator Gerise is an absolute dream to work with! We were able to get a date in October which was such a blessing! The venue is gorgeous with tons of Southern charm! Gerise is on top of every detail! The food was fabulous and the staff was absolutely wonderful! I’m glad that our first venue canceled. Actually the entire family including the bride was happy that our first venue canceled! If you have any reason to Book the 173 Carlyle House… Do it! Oh and the price was very reasonable!

Perfect Rehearsal Dinner Venue

The Carlyle House did a great job for my son's rehearsal dinner! Gerise was super flexible and easy to work with and made sure every detail was taken care of. She really helped take the stress off me during planning and on the day of the dinner. The food was delicious and they have a beautiful venue that lends itself to both indoor and outdoor functions. Our Fairy Tale Wedding!

The 173 Caryle House made our wedding dreams come true! We hosted both our rehearsal dinner and wedding reception at the 173 Carlyle House and felt as if it was ¨our house" for the entire weekend.

Gerise and her staff were incredible! The 173 Caryle House is a charming location nestled right into the heart of downtown Norcross. We were also able to take incredible pictures all around this beautiful community.

Our guests also loved venturing into the downtown area throughout the wedding weekend!

A BIG thank you to Gerise for taking our ¨wedding vision" and making it a reality! We will forever remember the night you brought our fairy tale to life!

A perfect day!

No stress, very professional

Where do I even begin?! Our wedding was absolutely wonderful! I knew from the moment I met Gerise that I could fully trust her and her staff. She made me feel so comfortable and she wasn’t trying to upcharge on every little thing like most of the other reception venues. Gerise would allow me to come and see the house whenever I needed too, she answered on emails very promptly, and made sure everything went smoothly on our big day! We had over 250 guest and everyone fit very comfortably even with a 5 piece band and a huge dance floor! We tented the outside terrace which added a lot of character to that area. The house was absolutely stunning the day of the wedding. I would recommend this venue to any bride who wants a “southern” wedding. It was everything I had hoped and dreamed for!

Charming wedding venue

I loved every bit of the 173Carlyle House! From it's wrap-around porch to it's vintage floors, the venue is great for any romantic-style wedding! The staff was great, especially Gerise who was always very quick to respond to any questions and concerns. It made our day a whole lot less stressful to know we could count on a venue coordinator that would make sure our wedding day was perfect- rain or shine!

The 173 Carlyle is the very first venue that I found online. While they have many pictures you can’t appreciate how big and lovely this venue is.
We knew as soon as we walked into the Carlyle House and met Gerise that we found our place. The facility is Gorgeous and there are many rooms for guests to sit and relax and have drinks and food during the bridal photos. I loved the Bridal suite that allows the Bride and Brides Maids to have a quiet place to freshen up before the Ceremony. The Bride and Groom return to that suite for a few minutes to themselves after the Ceremony. The outdoor terrace provides a wonderful back drop for the ceremony. It rained on our date so we opted to move into the ballroom less than an hour before the wedding. This staff transformed the ballroom into a chapel in 15 minutes. The rain stopped later and we moved outside to the beautiful lit terrace for more photos. Gerise assured me all along the way that everything would be perfect and she was absolutely correct. It’s clear they are experts at this. Chef Janousek and his staff provided an amazing assortment of dishes. The food was awesome! The Bride and Groom and our guests were delighted. I am so happy we chose the Carlyle House. Gerise and her staff are true professionals who operate with excellence and the pricing was surprisingly affordable. I would highly recommend The 173 Carlyle House. Thank you so much!!

We had a wonderful experience having our daughter's reception at 173 Carlyle House. We fell in love with the venue the minute walked in the door. Gerise was great to work with and always so helpful. The Carlyle House is beautiful and the food was excellent! We chose the chicken piccata and salmon and our guest couldn't stop talking about how delicious the food tasted. Gerise and the team at the Carlyle House were absolutely amazing. We enjoyed every second. Gerise is extremely accommodating, flexible and easy to work with! The Carlyle House was a perfectly quaint and homey feel with a patio that was flawless for a large dance floor and cocktail hour. We loved every second and would recommend to anyone deciding on where to spend their special day. Our wedding day was more than we could have ever imagined, thank you to Gerise and the Carlyle House team!!

We decided on Carlyle House after our original venue abruptly shut down and stole our money (in addition to about 10 other couples money also). We decided on Carylye House because the venue was beautiful, it would accommodate our wedding and reception and Gerise's Professionalism. We told her what happened with our original venue and she went above and beyond to ensure a positive, memorable experience at Carlyle House. For instance, she told the bride and groom at the wedding that took place the day before ours, what happened to us with the old venue. The bride and groom donated their centerpieces! Gerise made sure our wedding day was perfect and it was. The food was delicious. Our wedding guests are still raving about the mash potato bar. Gerise made sure our wedding day was a dream, we are so appreciative of everything she did for us. Even though we decided on Carylye House under stressful circumstances, we are glad that we had our wedding and reception there.

Shortly after I got engaged, I toured a good number of venues in the Atlanta area, and the Carlyle House & their staff surpassed all others from the start! The pressure and limitations that other venues put on you is non-existent at the Carlyle House. The Carlyle House helped me plan out every detail of our wedding and was so flexible and easy to work with. Being a bride without a wedding planner, there is so much that you are unaware of going into the planning process. Gerise at the Carlyle House helped with everything from creating a timeline to picking out the right DJ, Florist, Hotel, and Limo company for us. When our wedding day came around, it was an absolute dream. The staff made sure everything went smoothly and truly exceeded all expectations I ever had. The staff is exceptional, the food is so delicious, and the venue is truly stunning. My friends and family were truly amazed by our reception and could not stop complimenting it. The Carlyle House and their staff was a joy to work with and I would never have dreamt of using any other venue for our big day!

I chose the Carlyle House early in our planning based on the size of our wedding and the layout/look of the venue and never doubted my decision! We wanted our daughter to have the fairytale wedding she dreamed of. Fortunately, we decided to have the wedding and the reception at the 173 Carlyle House in historic Norcross and we are very happy to say that everything went perfectly!

The wedding ceremony was held on the Carlyle House’s beautiful, outdoor space where there are lots of large gorgeous trees and green space, along with a flat patio area for the wedding guests and the wedding party. The service was so lovely and then we moved indoors to the chandelier filled, beautiful, spacious rooms inside. The bridal room, the dining area, the dance floor, the set-up for the DJ…everything has been so well planned out!

The service was perfect and always very professional! The food was absolutely delicious and looked as fantastic as it tasted! Chef Janousek prepared a perfect wedding meal and the cakes were perfect and tasted awesome! The quality of the food was outstanding -- everything was prepared perfectly! The food experience was another highlight of using this venue -- it tasted just like a 4-star restaurant and our guests raved about how delicious everything was!

We especially want to mention the awesome Event Specialist Gerise Janousek. Gerise was a consummate professional, helping with the plans every step of the way and providing expert advice for everything involving the wedding. Things went so smoothly because of her incredible hard work and professionalism down to the smallest of details! The florist Maria and the DJ that Gerise recommended were awesome too! My husband and I were so relieved that Gerise was there every step of the way to patiently guide us and to make sure our daughter’s dream - a perfect, fairytale wedding came true! We are so happy for the happy couple and we are so happy we can so very highly recommend 173 Carlyle House!

We had our wedding here this past weekend, and it was absolutely perfect. Everyone warned me that no one has a perfect wedding and little details are bound to go wrong, but our ceremony and reception truly were perfect thanks to 173 Carlyle House. The venue itself can be very personal with plenty of space for decor and picture frames to give your event whatever look you want. There also were gorgeous places at the venue, downtown, and at the park nearby for our wedding photos and video. Everyone loved the southern food prepared by Chef William Janousek, and the acoustic guitar groom's cake turned out perfect. Gerise, the venue coordinator, assisted us throughout the entire planning process to ensure it was perfect. Because Carlyle House took care of everything for us we were able to relax and enjoy the wedding with our guests with nothing to do! We cannot say thank you to 173 Carlyle House enough for our perfect fairytale wedding!

Gerise and her staff are amazing!!! We had my son's wedding reception at the Carlyle House on a rainy Saturday in July and it could not have been more perfect! From the air-conditioned tent, to the beautifully decorated venue, to the courteous and always professional staff, the Carlyle House was above and beyond anything we expected ( and we expected a LOT!!) The Carlyle House was truly wonderful in every possible way. After visiting a few different venues, I walked away from The Carlyle House and cancelled all of my future venue appointments. The Carlyle House and the surrounding grounds are beautiful. There are a ton of different spaces to utilize, which provided amazing areas to guests to celebrate in at my wedding- quaint, elegant, charming rooms inside the house, a spacious, luxurious, and beautiful ballroom, wrap around porches with rocking chairs and tables, courtyard for both the ceremony as well as outdoor seating during the reception, and gorgeous grounds, full of trees and flowers- perfect for pictures. Gerise, the venue coordinator, is like "the cool aunt" you always wanted. She makes you feel like family. Gerise was quick to respond to my inquiries, inviting and welcoming, attentive to my needs, always gracious with her time, always offering to meet in person, and extremely reassuring. She was truly such a fun blessing- she made the planning and coordinating a seamless and stress free process! The food was INCREDIBLE... seriously, wedding food is never that good. All of my guests were raving about the food, service, and venue spaces! The Carlyle House was also EXTREMELY AFFORDABLE! The Carlyle House made me feel like I was the only bride in the world and were such a joy and comfort to work with!

I cannot begin to explain how helpful Gerise was at the Carlyle House. Any question I had was answered promptly and precisely. Any anxiety I may have had was quickly melted away knowing I was in good hands. The actual day of, the wedding went smoothly, and each specific task, from the catering, to the chuppah, was well handled so I didn't have to stress. If you can book your wedding here, do it. This is an amazing venue. It's beautiful inside and out. The food is great - cooked on site with fresh ingredients. Our guests raved about the food and decor, We had both the ceremony and reception here - the ceremony room is quickly turned into the reception room while guests have cocktails and hors d' oeuvres in a different part of the charming old house. Flawless transitions. You can also personalize the mantlepieces, etc.. Gerise, the venue coordinator, works with you to keep within your budget and she is incredibly patient, kind and helpful with all pre-wedding questions. When our daughter's wedding ended up being scheduled during a January ice storm weekend Gerise went way above and beyond to help us make the wedding happen. She let us switch the wedding start time and she promised to get her staff there even if she had to drive around the city in a 4 wheel drive to pick them up. She did get folks there, and so did we. Once there, we needed to make adjustments because some guests could not attend. Again, she worked with us. The wedding went off flawlessly - no one would ever imagine the numerous emails, calls and back and forth coordination between me and Gerise. At every turn, she was professional, accommodating, and creative as we tried to cope with ever changing weather predictions. This is a family run venue, not a corporate one. A family business allows for a level of flexibility and compassion that corporate enterprises do not have. Seriously, if this venue is available for your date, stop your search, It's an amazing place to have a beautiful wedding while working with really professional and dedicated folks who will try to make the entire experience as stress free, beautiful and fun as possible.

This location has it all. It is not far from Atlanta airport for out of town guests. It has the Forum for Shopping and Dining. The food was amazing. Gerise and her staff work so hard to make sure everything goes as planned all the while making all guests feel welcome and at home. The venue is so charming, warm and overall feeling of JOY. It is hard to know where to start in recommending 173 Carlyle House. There are too many wonderful things I could say. It is such a great blend of a vintage, older home feel but also has a nice sized ballroom with beautiful crystal chandeliers, hardwood floors, and chiavari chairs. Having the wedding on a May evening also afforded us the opportunity to rent a large tent where we had after dinner dancing. We opted for a southern menu including a delicious biscuit bar and they were so accommodating to incorporate our menu. We were also able to bring in some of our own personal treasure to decorate the four mantels and a bookcase in the old house. Many guests enjoyed the rocking chairs and the cocktail tables set up on the porch, especially during the cocktail hour. The overall atmosphere was exactly what my daughter had described as her vision for her wedding. But those are the basics. What really made the experience so enjoyable in the planning aspect was the event coordinator, Gerise Janousek. She was so calm, so easy going, so quick to respond to any (and all!) questions, and just so nice and accommodating to our needs AND wants. It is with great pleasure and wonderful memories that I highly recommend 173 Carlyle House!

My wife and I attended a function hosted at the Carlyle House and we were both amazed at how wonderful a venue the Carlyle House is. Very open, roomy and with plenty of green space to spill outside to. The food was fantastic and the wait staff courteous and friendly. During the event, we got to speak at length with Gerise the owner/operator and what a delight she was! My wife and I felt like Gerise was an old friend by the end of the evening. We are actually looking forward to having an event just so we can utilize the Carlyle House as the venue and have Gerise plan an unforgettable evening!

I highly recommend the Carlyle House for a wedding reception! We had ours here for our wedding reception on November 7th, 2015 and it was wonderful! The venue is beautiful; our guests commented how much they like the venue. It fit our vintage/classic wedding theme perfectly. Gerise is so easy to work with - she was always available for questions via e-mail or phone and quickly responded (and I had a lot of questions! :) ). Also, she was very flexible in the times in which to meet me since I usually had to meet with her in the evenings after work. The menu is diverse and with a huge selection, not to mention the food is so delicious! My husband and I are so glad we chose The Carlyle House for our reception. The 173 Carlyle House was one of many venues we looked at for my daughter's wedding. It won hands down. It is a beautiful house with many rooms and great views from every window. Every other venue we looked at held at least two weddings a day, but The Carlyle House holds one wedding a day. Most of the other venues would not allow you to decorate with your own things and did not have a personal feel. The Carlyle House encourages you to make your wedding unique by using your own decorations. I found a strange kind of peace in the house. Gerise is extremely easy to work with and extremely calm. She never got irritated or annoyed when I needed to change things or had questions. The food is cooked onsite and is the best I have ever had at a wedding and many restaurants. Gerise and the staff kept me updated throughout the wedding and reception. Rental fees, food, and alcohol were more than reasonable and a good value. Still getting compliments on the venue, food, service. It also has it's own parking. I suggest you rent it now and stop wasting time looking at other venues.

Finding our wedding venue was definitely the most stressful vendor search for our wedding. There are so many gorgeous locations in Atlanta I quickly became overwhelmed by the options. Visiting the Carlyle House was like a breath of fresh air from the corporate, cookie cutter venues we had visited previously. We love the location, the bar and menu flexibility, the size of the space, and the openness and straightforwardness Gerise told us about their operation. They actually try to work with you on options that you'll feel most comfortable with from a budget stand point and from a creative stand point. Gerise is amazing at responding back to any questions we have right away and is so easy and uncomplicated to work with. We can't wait to get married here!

Everything about the Carlyle House was perfect. The staff was great to work with, very flexible. The food was AMAZING, and I can be picky. People are still talking about how good the cakes were. I would absolutely highly recommend this venue. Gerise and her staff are knowledgeable, responsive and the service was wonderful during our reception. The Carlyle House staff was wonderful and made our hole experience amazing. Everyone did a great job! Alexandra and Oli were our coordinators and they didn't miss a beat everything was top notch. The little package of "dinner for two" and cake were a terrific and an unexpected surprise. We were starving when we got to hotel because we were so busy all night we didn't take the time to eat. Alex even made us plates that night but we were too excited. I can never thank them enough everything was so beautiful. Our friends loved the venue especially the food and the charming wraparound porch. We will highly recommend Carlyle House to everyone we know. There isn't a better place to get married in Norcross!

The Carlye House is the best! I had my wedding here (ceremony + reception) and I am incredibly happy with the services and food. Gerise is the best, she really accommodates to your needs and knows how to work with your budget. I loved the fact that there's no hidden fees, everything is discussed upfront and honest. No surprises and they deliver with high quality customer service. I highly recommend visiting this venue in person to realize the charm of Historic Norcross.

The Carly house was everything and more i expected.I had had a few friends get married here so i knew it was a great place. I just had no idea how wonderful it would be.They were always there to help with anything i need it i asked Gerise and Oli questions all the time.They were so patience and sweet.The historic house was amazing and so comfortable.We loved all the food especially the beef tenderloin.We would highly recommended them and Oli was fantastic the day of!Our friends are still saying it was the best wedding they have ever been too.

The owners and staff at the 173 Carlyle House, and especially Gerise, helped tremendously in making my daughter's wedding day so incredibly special. As the father of the bride watching the event unfold, and seeing and hearing from so many guests that they were enjoying themselves immensely, the experience exceeded all of my already high expectations. I absolutely could not be happier in the choice of venue, the delicious food and cakes, the settings and decorations, the serving staff and bartenders, and the managers and planners. Their planning and execution was meticulous and enormously helpful, the inside space and grounds are beautiful, and the atmosphere was simply the best. For any fathers out there like me considering the 173 Carlyle House: It's a great feeling knowing that I put my well-placed faith in such a capable establishment to help me make my little girl's wedding day dreams come true.

We had our wedding at the Carlyle House in August 2014. The ceremony and reception were wonderful. The facility and grounds are beautiful. The food was also excellent. Gerise, the coordinator, was a pleasure to work with and very helpful both pre-wedding and during the wedding. We would highly recommend this venue!

As a two-time client for the Carlyle House, it gives me great joy to tell you what an awesome job they did for the second time! My mother's 60th Birthday Party went off without a hitch! Our guests loved the atmosphere, the decor, the facility, the service, and the food. My mom was overwhelmed with joy to the point of shedding some tears. Everything was beautiful!

Seven years ago I had my wedding at the Carlye House and it was wonderful. To say they were very prepared, professional and easy to work with is an understatement. The charming historic house and great service made me return for another important event. Right after my honeymoon, life started moving so fast, and I neglected to write a review/thank you. I always regretted that because I really thought they made my day special. But now I get to tell you what I should have before. Gerise is an amazing event coordinator. She is more than helpful with menu & decor ideas, tips on how to save money, and she works hard to make sure your vision comes to life! Her responsiveness to my changes and questions made planning both my wedding and my mom's birthday party so much easier. I truly appreciated that!

The Carlyle House is not your cookie-cutter event facility. They really have something special and unique to offer. The house's old world charm, elegant ambiance and good food was exactly what I wanted for both days. Thanks so much for everything!

The event was handled very professionally and met our expectations completely. With changes that had to be made very close to the event date they were made with no complaint. The staff did a beautiful job and would certainly hold another event there. Thank you so very much!

We kinda went in blindly with Carlyle House for our wedding. And by blindly I mean - we didn't have a chance to taste the food beforehand, we liked what we saw on the tour but it wasn't set up for a wedding, rather a holiday party, and at the venue-booking stage of the planning I had absolutely NO CLUE how wedding crazy I would become in the following 6 months of planning.

You see, I'd planned to have a simple wedding. I didn't care about all of the frills (at first). I just wanted good food, good drinks and the people we care most about in attendance. And Carlyle House made everything easy. They could customize my linens, we had a great choice of food and they were willing to let me bring in my own cupcakes. Add all that to the super cute old house that has an add-on ballroom and I was sold at first glance.

Gerise - the on-site planner - was awesome. I never felt like she wanted to kill me after I would send her one of hundreds of emails with questions as I worked my way into becoming a minor bridezilla. She choreographed the rehearsal perfectly and was even better on our wedding day. She made me not regret hiring a wedding planner because she seriously did it all for us.

In the end, I did turn into the bride I never dreamed I would be - personalized aisle runner, flowers I never wanted, a candy buffet and cute little signs I thought I could DIY and ended up hiring out. And even though my then-fiancé made the mistake of actually calling me BrideZilla a few times (he obviously has never seen the show with the REAL bridezillas), our wedding was absolutely PERFECT. Even my always-disapproving-of-everything mother-in-law loved it. And that's more than any praise I can give anything in this world.

The food was great - better than we expected. The drinks were great. The night was great.

Extraordinary service in an exquisite venue! The event planner was so knowledgeable and personable! Made us feel like we were special. The layout, the brightness of the rooms, the gorgeous chandeliers, the wrap-around porch, the food...everything was so beyond our wildest dreams! We knew it would be perfect, but it was even more perfect than we anticipated. Fabulous place for any event!

Gerise made everything so easy for us. We were planning our wedding from out-of-state and she was always helpful and friendly via email and phone! She was incredibly accommodating as well - she let us pick up food to sample when we were in GA one weekend since we couldn't make it for the scheduled tasting weekend. She was very flexible and easy going throughout the whole process while keeping everything organized. Overall the food was great, the venue is beautiful, and the value is insane!!! You absolutely cannot beat the cost of everything you get with this venue. We are very pleased!

We utilized the Carlyle House for my son's wedding last week 3/29/14. It was an enchanting evening. The warmth and home like environment of the Carlyle House makes an event there more intimate and special than that of a hotel... We were able to personalize both the inside and outside of the venue with our own things which added a friendly feeling to both the cocktail hour and the reception itself. The event went off seamlessly-- and the food they provided was exactly as we had tasted it prior to the wedding. Guests raved about both the food and the cakes...
Gerise was a complete joy to work with. She knows her business and her facility. She was cool, calm and collected throughout the entire process. She is accessible via phone and email and was always responsive to our questions and requests.

I would highly recommend The Carlyle House & Gerise for any event of any size...

My company has booked our corporate holiday party at this location for the last five years. Every year the food and quality of service are impeccable. An outstanding place to have any function. You will be very pleased. The Janousek's are wonderful to work with and will accomodate you any way possible.

Our youngest daughter was married at this location, and it was the most fantastic place to have her wedding! Gerise, our wedding planner who works at the location, was so accommodating, professional, and adaptive to all of our needs for the wedding day. Honestly, there is not one single thing we would've changed with that wedding day, other than the rather cool temperatures, which of course no one could control! I highly recommend this charming, historic, beautiful facility for any event you are interested in hosting.

The Carlyle House staff was friendly, flexible and supportive. The food was excellent!
The microphone quality should to be checked before the event. Our quality was not the best, but managable.

Absolutely would use again. This was our second event utilizing this venue, and I chose to have our staff dinner here as opposed to a "loud" restaurant. The event coordinator did a wonderful job; flexible, helpful and professional. The evening staff went over and beyond to accommodate each guest making the evening very pleasant, and the food was "over the top". It was an executive group and they were all impressed even saying they would host events here in the future. I recommend The Carlyle House for your event large or small. Thanks to all of you at the Carlyle House!! Happy New Year.

Christmas Party for 70-
Food/Service was FABULOUS!

Had Great Appetizers-Bacon Wrapped Scallops, Shrimp and Chicken Satay-while having open bar.
Main meal in large room- a full catered buffet of Southern food-Fried Green Tomatoes, Fried Okra, Broccoli, Squash Souffle, Carving Station of Tenderloin and Turkey and Bananas Foster for Dessert!!

Gerise was so easy to work with-We will copy the same menu next year.

This is the second time we have had an event at 173 Carlyle House. Gerise was awesome to work with. The food was absolutely delicious. Our guests made numerous comments about how good the food was. We had plenty of time beforehand to bring in our own table items and decorate the tables the way we wanted. And, since we were on a pretty tight budget, we were able to break up our payments over a period of time before the event which really helped us not feel overwhelmed. The first time we use the 173 Carlyle House, we had our daughter's wedding reception there. The second time we had our son's rehearsal dinner. Both times we were very pleased and would highly recommend them to anyone for any type of event.

Our wedding reception at the Carlyle House in the historic part of Norcross was absolutely perfect! Everything looked beautiful and the food looked wonderful and everything was so delicious! The service was awesome and our guests are still talking about what a wonderful time they had! We love the historic, southern charm of this place, the grounds, and the romantic, historic porches and rooms. The entire staff at The Carlyle House provided exceptional service. Gerise and MIrka were extremely helpful in planning and carrying out a surprise birthday party for my husband. Based on their experience, they were able to help me out wtih great suggestions for room set up, decorations, food and drink that was specific to the "Czech" theme I wanted. The house and grounds are beautiful so the porch gave the guests a nice place to relax until we arrived with my husband for the surprise. My out of town guests were very impressed and hope to return for another occassion!

The Carlyle House was the PERFECT choice for a wedding reception for our special occasion! From the early planning stages right through to the last minute details, Gerise provided exceptional service. Not only from her extensive knowledge and experience in how the event would flow, but also (and perhaps most importantly) in her desire to make sure we were overwhelmingly pleased with the outcome. We dodged a substantial downpour before the event started and Gerise was as concerned as we were by taking charge to ensure the outside tables were dry and ready for the reception guests. By the time the reception started, the rain had stopped and it was an absolutely beautiful cool gorgeous night! Our food choices of New York Strip, Salmon Wellington and Shrimp & Grits were excellently prepared by Chef Janousek - not only did they taste delectable, but were prepared in sufficient quantity to serve our 200 guests as much as they wanted to eat and then some! Chef Janousek also made the most delicious wedding cake and grooms cake! The entire Janousek family participated to make this a very special occasion, including hosting the drink table and serving the champagne toast, as well as packing up the leftovers and even carrying them out to the car at the end of a long night! Gerise graciously came through to save the day at the last minute when we realized the florist/event planner failed to bring the sparklers as planned, With nothing for the get-away, she offered some extra bubbles she had on hand, Cara and Clay had a beautiful send off despite no sparklers. Gerise was so professional in everything she did, yet so personal she cared about not only the details, but cared about us. By far it is this level of customer service, care and concern that exceeded our expectations and for which we are grateful. Thank you Gerise and Chef Janousek and the entire staff at the Carlyle House!!!

I picked this wonderful location to host our ceremony and reception. It's such a charming and quaint place for a romantic indoor evening wedding.

Gerise was very helpful, friendly and easy to work with in coordinating the event--from selecting the date, to providing advice on what and how much food and drinks to order for our 75 guests. Although she wasn't there on the day of our wedding, the owner stepped in and was very helpful. The only thing they forgot to do was light the candles for our ceremony.

Their food is excellent; such large quantities your guests won't leave hungry. Their cake preparer was able to recreate our wedding cake exactly from a picture I provided them. And, their staff/servers gave us such great service. They went above & beyond to make this a very special day for us.

They have a small area for brides and attendants to dress in (which that day was very warm--no a/c seemed to be working in the room).

Their outside property provided us with a beautiful backdrop for our pictures.

They also worked well with my outside vendors-the DJ and florist.

It was truly a remarkable day for us and our guests still tell us it was the best wedding/reception/location they have been to. I thank the Carlyle House for everything they did for us and I would highly recommend the Carlyle House to anyone and would use them again if the opportunity presented itself.

I'm very pleased how it turned out. I'm glad to have it at the Carlyle House...the venue is beautifully decorated and the food were sumptuous & so delicious! Everyone enjoyed it and I had couple of friends thinking about using your place for upcoming event. The cake was lovely & delicious! The staff were very courteous and Gerise was totally awesome to work with throughout the planning process.

The Carlyle House was just perfect for our small intimate wedding and reception. The house is already lovely, and we added our personal touches and decorations to create the look and feel we wanted. During the planning process, Gerise was helpful, very responsive to every little question or concern, and patient. They were very flexible with tweaks to the menu items. On the day of the event, the staff did a fantastic job. I recommend The Carlyle House for weddings big or small.

Afternoon Gerise,

Now that we are settling into our home and looking back at videos from the wedding, we can't help but try to rewind the time to our wedding! That day went by super fast, I honestly thought people were joking when they told us the day would go quick. Gerise, we had an AMAZING time and you made our day even more beautiful. Our family and friends have said our wedding and reception was one they've NEVER seen and people will have a hard time trying to top it! Thanks so much for your advice and patience while working closely with us. We appreciate you greatly and would recommend you to anyone wanting an outstanding party that will leave your guests and you overjoyed.
We got our cake topper and other items from the reception. I can't say it enough, you out did yourselves and made our day the best!. From the food, service, preparation and set up; to the beautiful environment for photos. Even our second line entrance was a hit, it's now on youtube! I will always remember this day and cherish it for the rest of my life! Thank you so much for all you've done, we pray you have many more blessed events that bring joy and love that will last a lifetime.

I can't say enough positive comments about our wedding at The 173 Carlyle House in Norcross, Georgia! To say the wedding venue was perfect is an understatement! The Carlyle House is comfortable, classy, memorable, and charming in a Southern way! Our guests from near and far sincerely appreciated its charm. The most important parts of the evening were handled with care and class by Gerise, the venue's wedding planner, who is extremely experienced and easy to communicate with at all times. Elegant and simply sophisticated. My wedding at the Carlyle House in May was utter perfection.
