Beautiful photography, highly recommend!!

We booked Khoa for our engagement shoot and wedding day, and can’t express how happy we are with our photos and the whole experience. We trust Khoa to direct and pose us for any photo because he allows us to show our best selves and still look and feel natural. He is a master at catching the best lights and times of day. He and his team are definitely artists and you can tell when they get inspired by the light or surroundings – it gets us excited, too! The finished photos are beautiful and vibrant, which is the style we were going for. We highly recommend booking 1314 Studio. We received so many compliments on the photos and people even asked us if Khoa and his team take on family shoots (which they do!).

On our wedding day, Khoa was accompanied by Abhi who is hilarious and also so fun to work with. We took photos at our venue, the church, and a local park. Khoa and Abhi took care of coordinating family and bridal party photos, as well. We didn’t have a wedding planner or day-off coordinator, but with Khoa, there is no need to worry about any logistics. If you do have particular requests, Khoa is so great at taking care of you. Regardless, I highly recommend allowing him some freedom to photograph you and your day as he wishes because he’s a pro and not only do all the shots come out looking amazing, but he and his team keep you feeling confident throughout the whole shoot.

Amazing experience and beautiful photos!

Initially hired 1314 Studio for our wedding for photography/videography but am so glad we hired them for our engagement shoot! Khoa did an amazing job talking us through the poses and had amazing shots. Easy to work with and can make any background look extraordinary. Would definitely recommend to my friends for their engagement/weddings.

Left us speechless with the photos, can't wait for him and the team to shoot/film for our big day!

great wedding photography experience

Khoa did a great job with our photos. He was communicative and easy to work with. Because it rained all day on our wedding day, we could not get any nice photos outside. Khoa offered to come back to DC all the way from Philly to take outdoor photos of us after the wedding. Those turned out great as well! You can't go wrong for the quality and price. I am very happy with the photos. Thank you!

Absolutely incredible!

My wife, Yari, and I could not be more pleased with Khoa and 1314 Studios’ work! Khoa was incredibly professional, very organized, and a dream to work with! Our family and friends enjoyed all interactions they had with Khoa and his team (which was very important to us). They truly captured every beautiful moment of our day, even the moments we did not realize at the time were worth capturing. We were brought to tears when we watch our wedding film! We cannot thank them enough for capturing our day exactly how we imagined and giving us such beautiful pictures and an emotional film to look back on. Top notch, passionate, and highly entertaining photographer

Khoa did amazing work at our wedding. He made our pre-ceremony couples shoot a ton of fun and I loved the creativity with which he utilized every bit of my sister’s place to stage captivating scenes. I was happy we didn’t have to go for a long walk outside the property to find interesting settings for the photos. My husband Matt was surprised at how much fun he had during the shoot, and Khoa had such a calming, positive, and professional presence we both very much appreciated. To top it off, he was highly entertaining!

Excellent and definately recommend to others!

Khoa and 1314 studios photography crew were very professional, kind and easy to work with. Any questions or concerns my wife and I had were answered very quickly by Khoa. He made the process as stress free as possible and very easy from start to finish. The day of the wedding we had specific shots we wanted and his team was able to accomodate our request without issue. Prior to booking him, we had a in person meeting where he showed us samples of his work which were absolutely amazing. Pictures came out very clear and clean. Khoa also did our engagement shoot and were satisfied with the outcome. I would definately recommend him and his crew to everyone and for any event.

Wonderful and Professional

We are so glad we chose 1314 Studio for our wedding. We first met Khoa at his studio in Central NJ and he was professional and well prepared for the meeting. He had materials, shot lists, and samples of his work all ready to go and show us. We decided to book him immediately after the meeting.
Our venue was an industrial loft and we had asked Khoa if he had ever shot a wedding in that kind of venue before. Ideally, we would have preferred someone who was familiar with the space. Khoa had not shot in that type of venue before, but he took the time to go through his portfolio and show us samples of what could be considered similar. He explained to us how he would approach the challenges of shooting in a new space and we felt confident he would do a good job.
On the day of the wedding, his team was on time and extremely nice. They also came very prepared! They brought the lighting and additional equipment to accommodate the space and we were very impressed. Khoa told us how to stand, pose, etc (we needed the guidance!) and he kept us on schedule. Many of our guests also commented that they barely noticed the photography/videography team were there, which is saying a lot since it is a small venue. We are very happy we went with 1314 Studio!

beyond the best!!

Khoa, Marco, Brian & Merlana(spelling is prob wrong sorry!) were absolutely spectacular from start to finish! my husband and i have had photos taken multiple times with Khoa, as well as some of my family members, and he still continues to manage us with his quality of work. there was n one else whom we would have rather chosen for this special occasion. if you are looking for someone who is funny, and makes you feel at ease and has amazing vision for photography as well as videography you definitely MUST have all the members of 1314 studio for your big day!!!!! we love you guys!!!

Pen Ryn - Sept 2018 Wedding

Khoa and Marco were amazing to work with for our wedding video!! Our short clip and 5 minute video turned out much more astonishing than we had ever expected from our crazy long day of wedding(My family literally cried when they saw the video, that's how amazing the video was!!!!). Because of how busy our wedding was from the crack of dawn to the late hours of dancing, they've sent an another person to be able to capture the extra moments of all the joyous laughters, the ugly tears, and our crazy first dance! These guys are very down to earth and super super fun to work with!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!

Beautiful Fall wedding

We are beyond satisfied with Khoa and his team on the day of our wedding and our engagement photo shoot ! His wedding packages are affordable and of great value! Khoa was on time for our engagement shoot as well as the day of the wedding. He executed everything perfectly and suggested ideas for myself and our wedding party to pose. He made everyone laughed and had a good time while looking like a model! We are so happy when we got our pictures in due time and we got so many compliments ! It was a perfect fall day and the pictures come out beautifully. I couldn’t have thanks Khoa and his team enough for capturing all the details of our wedding day. One word. Amazing!

Khao put us at ease from the moment he met him. He was light-hearted, warm, focused and professional. He has an innate ability to be intuitive and sensitive to the people he's photographing, which help bring out natural emotions in his images. Always courteous with a smile on his face, even during stressful large group photos, when not everyone was cooperating. He has a photojournalistic approach and was creative in working around less desirable backgrounds. We felt Khao's work was on par with some of the best and reputable photographers in our area (some quotes were almost double). Unfortunately, we only hired him up until our first dance - this was our BIGGEST regret. We should have just hired him for the entire evening with an assistant. In hindsight, we would like to have captured some missing moments because he had to leave the cocktail hour to set up for the reception. We did not get to take photos with our guests and some family members. We assumed people would take photos during the reception but didn't take into account the low lighting situation - so no images were usable. I highly recommend hiring him and his team for the full package and capture those once in a lifetime moments - every single one of them.

We loved working with Khoa! He made our rainy day feel full of sunshine. He helped us adjust our posture and find poses that showcased us in the best way possible. He came two hours early and stayed later than we asked him to, PLUS he completed a highlights reel for us (and our wedding guests) the day of the event even though there was nothing about that in our initial contact. Overall, Khoa was the perfect blend of serious and light hearted, and we really appreciated him being a part of our special day.

Khoa was absolutely fantastic! We were referred to Khoa and his team by a friend and it was one of the best decisions we made. He was so easy to work with and responsive. We both work long hours and would contact him late in the evening and would still get an immediate response. My fiancé and I had decided on a short engagement (6 months) and needed supportive and flexible vendors to pull it off. Khoa was so good at putting us at ease. My fiancé doesn’t like to be photographed and he had a lot of fun with Khoa. We loved our engagement and wedding photos. Khoa came up with lots of beautiful photo poses for us that were natural, romantic, and fun. We will cherish these photos the rest of our life. Khoa and his team were great! They have a great website and it showcases their style beautifully. Khoa is very responsive via email, which is crucial when you’re planning a wedding. Our first meeting was at a Starbucks and he brought a laptop to showcase additional weddings that were photographed by 1314 and himself. We worked together on a timeline of the day and he put me at ease as my husband and I are not great in front of the camera. Our edited photos were provided to us timely and were fantastic! Everything was captured and then some! My only recommendation to future couples is to do an engagement shoot. We didn’t as we felt shy in front of the camera, but put that aside! It gives you an opportunity to know your photographer’s style and see how you act and look in front of the camera. And when you know what your assets are, your pictures will be that much better.

5 stars, more if I could!!! Khoa & team: friendly, approachable, professional. His images are clear, precise, bright & vivid.

Before: We first inquired but couldn't meet in person, Khoa was flexible for phone call, along with Hendrick. As bride, you want to "know" your wedding team. We had connection right away, which continued through even after months after. He patiently listened to our wedding vision, gave helpful advice, and relayed all this information to the team.

During: Punctual - Hendrick and team were all friendly and cordial, never intimidating. I was frazzled with H/MU, breakfast, first look, and overall mood/anxiety -- but once Hendrick was there, I immediately felt at ease. He coached me to pose like this/like that. Time to head to park for outdoor photos -- Hendrick drove groom & GM to get started, so the girls could have limo to ourselves and meet them at the park. What smart thinking!

Arrival to venue: We needed someone who spoke Cantonese, and Hendrick's was perfect, not afraid to shout instructions in Chinese at our guests, at our request! Night flew by, and the whole team stayed way past the contracted time. It is important to note here that Khoa stopped by too, despite late at night, and booked elsewhere -- what kind of photog/team leader does that? THIS GUY! Dedication, passion, and commitment sums it up.

Post-wedding: Khoa delivered ALL photos in less than 3 weeks. Photos were crisp, brilliant, sharp. Between Hendrick and the other shooters, they captured things like cocktail hour, that we did not get to see, so very thankful for that. Then, I decided to order two parents' albums; Khoa tirelessly helped arrange photos into beautiful leather albums.

TL;DR: Please see for yourself and send an inquiry to 1314 & Khoa -- if they are available for your date, do not hesitate, BOOK THEM because you will have the best friendly team who will produce the most amazing photos for your wedding day!

Khoa and the entire team of photographers of 1314 Studios are phenomenal! My wife is Indian and we had a traditional Hindu-Indian ceremony, which can be quite lengthy and start very early. Khoa and his team were very understanding and professional-they arrived early and they knew the significance of the various Hindu customs that occurred during the ceremony and did a wonderful job of capturing the entire wedding and reception. We were so happy because he also made sure to capture all of our loved ones, family, and friends in all the photos, which is very heart warming as many live abroad.

Khoa also personally hand delivered our final album to our home- he is truly a pleasure to work with! Our friends and family were so impressed with the final photos as the album was so colorful and of beautiful quality. My wife also loved the glamor shots that Khoa captured of her-she truly felt like a beautiful bride, like something out of a high fashion magazine.

We highly recommend Khoa to everyone and we would love to use him again for any events we will have in the future! Great job, you are very talented!

Khoa really helped us out on our wedding day. I haven't been to a lot of weddings and so didn't really know what was good in terms of wedding photography. But I now know that 1314studio is good. They were responsive, courteous, sweet, and professional. In the midst of all the craziness of the wedding, photography was the least of our worries-- Khoa really knew exactly what to do every moment of the wedding. Our photos turned out great, and I can't wait to hang them in our house :) Worth every penny.

My husband and I used 1314 Studio for our wedding and it was the best decision we made! Khoa was so easy to work with, responded to all questions and made us feel so comfortable while taking the photos. There was a change of plans the day of our wedding with our limo causing us to take photos at a different location than we originally planned. Khoa was amazing and took the most beautiful pictures! I cannot stop looking through them and obsessing over each one! The pricing is reasonable and you get the rights to all of your pictures. Can’t ask for anything more than that! This review is long overdue and well deserved! My husband and I got married in October 2016, and our photographers for the big day were Khoa Nguyen and Hendrick Moy. From the get go, these guys were so accommodating and considerate! The team over at 1314 studios always answered my emails in a timely manner, and my photographers were always super responsive as well. Khoa touched base with me several times before the big day, and each time, he actually listened to what I had to say. When I requested to meet with Hendrick, even though we live in different states, he made it possible to speak in person, which was important for me and my husband because we wanted to make sure we were comfortable around our photographers. On the day of wedding, both Khoa and Hendrick respected the fact that we wanted to try to stay on track with our schedule… but we all know that never happens with weddings! As crazy as the day got, Khoa & Hendrick made shooting with them super fun and never awkward. Also, we had incorporated some cultural traditions that they were so respectful about, and of which they captured so nicely. They’re such genuine, talented people, and I was so happy to have them photographing our wedding. The quality of their work is top notch, and their prices are extremely reasonable. Book them now! You won’t regret it!

My husband and I used Khoa for our engagement and wedding photos. We were very pleased and how shocked on how pretty and nice our pictures came out. We both are not photogenic and we were very nervous on our 1st time shoot with Khoa. He knew exactly what he was doing and made sure that we posed our best. We had the shoot in November so it was very cold but it went by so fast. Khoa makes you feel comfortable and is very laid back and a funny guy.
On our wedding day it was so hectic but we got really nice shots. Our photos are different from the ordinary or should i say traditional poses. I like how Khoa incorporated new ideas and poses. I definately recommend him for wedding and engagement photos.... or for any other occasions.

After much searching my fiancé and I chose 1314 Studio to do our engagement shoot a few weeks back. Although where we chose to do our pictures was crowded Khoa made us feel like it was just us two. He scoped out the location beforehand and knew exactly where he would have us pose. About a week later we received our pictures. Now our only problem is picking which pictures we like the best!

My husband and I have used 1314 Studio for both our wedding photography and recently our maternity photo shoot. We have worked with both Emily and Khoa and think both are very talented and professional photographers. This review is mainly for the maternity photo shoot because it is the most recent, but before I get started I must say our wedding photos came out so good, that we knew right away who to call for the maternity shoot. Khoa was our photographer and he was very easygoing with our location requests, had a lot of flexibility with dates and times and had quick and clear communication via email/phone. We had to reschedule our shoot's original date due to bad weather, but the second time was perfect! From the moment we met, my husband and I both felt very comfortable with Khoa. He is very friendly and made us laugh right away which helped us relax so that all of our photos came out looking very natural. I was very impressed not only with the quality of the photos, but also with his eye for the right light, angles, and creative poses. We met at one location and he was able to make it look as if we went to 3 or 4 different sites- I can tell he prepared for this before we got there! I would definitely recommend 1314 Studio to anyone looking to get very natural yet creative looking photos. All of our friends and family complimented us on the results, but besides that I would say my favorite thing about going with them is how fun the experience itself is!

Khoa and 1314 Studio were so fun and easy to work with! Flexible and creative, they made our special day a great experience and made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. The turn around to get our photos was very short and we were more than happy with the results! We would definitely recommend 1314 Studio, especially with the prices Khoa offers.

I used 1314 Studio's for my proposal to my girlfriend (now fiancee). Khoa was an incredible photographer. The pictures came out better than we could have imagined. We used 1314 Studio for our Brooklyn photoshoot and New York city hall ceremony. Khoa was great throughout the whole process. Very friendly, prompt and responsive in his emails. He takes the initiative to understand what you look for in the photoshoot. On the day itself, he was able to make us feel very comfortable with different poses throughout the photoshoot. Khoa made the whole shoot really fun and spontaneous and this was captured well in the photos. The photos turned out naturally beautiful and vivid. I will definitely recommend 1314 studio for capturing your important moments!

Khoa is the best photographer who we have ever met. We chose him as the photographer for our engagement photo-shooting session at Central Park at New York. He really did an excellent job: He is very professional and at the same time very enthusiastic. He knows how to make us emotionally engaged to the photo-shooting. We had so much fun during the whole session. We are very happy having him as our photographer. We love so much all photos that he delivered to us, so do our friends and family. 1314 has done engagement shoots and weddings for several close friends of mine over the past 6 years. Working with Khoa & Emily throughout the years has always been a pleasure and I have always been incredibly impressed by their work (and their work ethic). They're everything you could want in your photographers: responsive, professional, fun, and really, really good at what they do.
So when my fiancé & I got engaged, it was an obvious choice: 1314 was the studio for us! We recently had our engagement shoot with Khoa and it was simply a dream come true. He made us feel completely at ease (not an easy task!) and the photos ideas that he came up with throughout the shoot were phenomenal. He went above and beyond, doing whatever it took to create the very best images possible and they are stunning. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

UPDATE: We just got married & if we could give 1314 more stars, we would! Khoa absolutely amazed us & brought a fantastic second shooter as well. They edited photos from the ceremony to show at the reception & our guests could not stop raving about how incredible the photographs (and photographers) were. Not only was the photography aspect amazing, but Khoa's calm, friendly & playful demeanor helped us feel so relaxed & comfortable throughout the entire day. We cannot recommend 1314 studio highly enough- they are hands down the best photographers we could've ever hoped for!

The team at 1314 Studio is phenomenal! We worked with Khoa and Emily for our engagement and wedding day photos and we had Hao and his team as our videographers for the wedding night. While we have yet to see the video footage from Hao, I have no doubt it'll be amazing based on his other work and how involved and active his team was in capturing everything on our wedding day. In terms of Khoa and Emily, those two are absolutely amazing and talented photographers. For our e-session, Khoa and Emily had really terrific, unique ideas for photos throughout the session and even came up with a great idea for a second location - the Brooklyn Bridge. Even though that wasn't something we came up with, we are so glad we went with their guidance because our favorite engagement photos definitely came from that location. We were married in December and if you can believe it, we've already received our wedding day photos (a little over a month later)! These guys are quick - I have no idea when they sleep! The wedding day photos are stunning. They were able to capture so many intimate moments that I hadn't even realized they were capturing! Khoa and Emily were not at all intrusive and felt like they were a part of our wedding. I absolutely love their work and can't wait for more opportunities to work with them again in the future!

Our photography experience was amazing thanks to Khoa & Emily's fine work. My fiancé and I are usually clueless on how to pose for the camera, but Khoa & Emily made us both not feel intimidated and learn to love posing for the camera! They guided us in exact posing we need to do and the pictures turned out AMAZING. On top of that they took their time with taking the pictures just right and we didn't feel rushed at all. It was actually really fun and we didn't feel exhausted like we did on other photoshoots in the past. When we checked our email a few days later, to our surprise - the photos were ALREADY READY!!! Highly recommend these two All-Stars!!!

My husband and I had our wedding photoshoot in NYC with Emily and Khoa. It had been some time since we have been in the NYC area, so most of our ideas were not feasible on the day of due to bad forecast. However, Emily was well prepared and laid out a plan for us, which was very helpful.

Throughout our photoshoot, we could see their creative minds working and setting a picture, as soon as we came across an area. Our time with them was very efficient, as Emily directed the shoot very well. Our pictures were amazingly done and beyond what we had expected! Our family and friends have also commented that the pictures were absolutely beautiful.

We cannot recommend Emily and Khoa enough!! Thank you so much for your great work :)

We took our engagement photos with Khoa and Emily last week and had such a wonderful experience! We had sent them some suggested areas where we were hoping to get some shots. They arrived to the area well before our scheduled meeting time and surveyed the area themselves so that they were well prepared going into the shoot and we would not waste a minute of our time together. Khoa and Emily worked extremely well together and were great at creating 'scenarios' to help us get into the 'mood' of each shot. They turned over our pictures in an extremely quick time frame, beautifully edited and exactly what we would have hoped them to be. They did a great job at catching the more candid shots that we were looking for. Everyone that saw our pictures complimented us on how stunning they were. We had many compliments on how editorial they looked and how they looked like they came out of a magazine. We are thrilled to have chosen 1314 studios and can't wait to work with them again on our wedding day!

Khoa and 1314 Studios did a phenomenal job with our engagement photos this past October. Khoa paid attention to our story and made a point to work it into our shots. He even scoped out the location the day before and knew exactly where he wanted to shoot us. My finance and I had such a great time, more fun then we ever thought. We absolutely loved the pictures Emily took and are very happy with our choice of photographer! We had a very small wedding at home with the registrar and some close family and friends. Emily did a great job of making the wedding look super chic and cosy. She made great use of the space and gave us a lot of tips/poses to get us comfortable for the couple pictures. The light was not easy to work with since there were a lot of shadows in the space and the job she did in the final pictures was definitely commendable Everyone has complimented the pictures and we find it difficult to choose the best to frame since they are all so good! She also captured some good candid moments. Emily is also very responsive in her communications and was very punctual with her time on the day of the wedding. I had to mention it- since we were late by 30 minutes while she waited patiently for us.

We highly recommend her services.

I found 1314 online as I was travelling to New York for Christmas, and wanted some nice photos of my fiance and I celebrating our time together. I loved Emily's style and couldn't be happier with our finished photos. Emily was extremely accommodating fitting us in during the busy Christmas period, even shooting on a Sunday around the changing weather. She and her assistant Khoa were patient and have a great eye for detail and we've now ended with a series of excellent photos to mark our engagement in New York.

We thought we'd feel uncomfortable - a little corny - shooting these photos, but Emily made us feel very relaxed and helped us to make the most of our time with her. We had a great time shooting the photos and hanging out in the city!

Highly recommended.

Emily was a pleasure to have as our photographer. In my mind I knew choosing a photographer for our wedding was one of the most important items on our wedding list because once the day is over, all you have left are your pictures, and these memories you will treasure forever.
I looked everywhere for the right photographer, some I found to be too cheesy, some too boring, some edited their images with too much contrast, some were way too expensive. I finally found 1314 Studio in a lucky google search under photojournalism and bingo! I fell in love with Emily's style, her candid shots capture the true feeling of the moment. She is very professional and easy to communicate with and her prices are reasonable for her level.
The day of the wedding her and her assistant were very professional, flexible and creative. We got our pictures back and there's so many good shots that we are having trouble choosing the ones for our album. By the way she offers very beautiful albums and delivers your photos in a very unique way which I won't describe so I don't ruin the surprise!

From start to finish, Studio 1314 services were amazing. Emily's email responsiveness is insanely fast (something to put any bride at ease), and the value for her work cannot be beat. I was immediately attracted to her artistry and non-traditional ways of capturing that special day. Upon meeting her, she asked us thought-provoking questions that really moved us and reminded us, yet again, of why were saying "I do." Her non-invasiveness, coupled with a friendly assertiveness, could not have been more perfect the day of. Some of the comments we have gotten on our pictures have been things like, "this photo should go in a bridal magazine" or "best wedding photo I've ever seen." I would highly recommend Emily's services to any bride looking for something a little non-traditional, but gorgeous and perfect in every way.

My fiance and I could not be happier with the way our engagement pictures turned out!! Emily was really great to work with and very professional. I loved her attention to detail, especially when my hair was getting unruly. The pictures look timeless, not trendy. I know that 50 years from now we will be proud to show our grandchildren these. We got an excellent range of photos from serious and posed to random and fun.

She was very patient and went the extra mile to capture this moment in our lives well. We were taking pictures in Central Park during the breast cancer walk, and how she managed to not have crowds of people in the background all wearing pink is a miracle. Highly recommended!

We first saw Emily and her assistant in action at a friend's wedding and were so impressed that we booked her for our wedding! We weren't disappointed. Emily understands the unique personality of each couple and tailors her style to fit accordingly. She provided great, encouraging direction to us on our wedding day and had a number of helpful suggestions. She was punctual and friendly, but not obtrusive. A number of our wedding guests commented on how "on point" she and her assistant were during the reception. It can be nerve-wracking to book someone without seeing them in action but we highly recommend that you trust Emily and her photojournalistic style to capture all the fun, beautiful, and touching moments of your wedding day!

It was evident from the moment we met Emily she wanted to get to know us as a couple. She asked about our interests, personal tastes, our favorite photography style and even went through my wedding "pins". Her research definitely paid off, as the color, the quality and the moments that she captured are just stunning. Her and Hal made a wonderful team, always staying out of the way, yet at the same time pleasantly assertive (as one must be with a wedding party as big as ours was). Plus, we absolutely appreciated everything about the delivery of our photos. They arrived in the most beautiful box, wrapped with glittery ribbon and a lovely bow. Inside, an adorable heart-shaped flash drive, buried in colorful yarn. This can sit on our shelf forever and never be lost. Thanks 1314 Studio!

Finding a photographer was one of the most important things for me in my wedding planning process. We were deciding between a family friend and 1314studios. Both very talented, but needless to say, Emily won as her images portray the story of the day and captures the emotions so beautifully. We can not express how happy we are with our decision. Her style of photography was exactly what I was looking for: photojournalistic, emotion-driven and candid. Her post production work is also amazing. We chose her pop style which makes the images so vibrant and inviting.

Emily was also an absolute pleasure to work with. She made us feel comfortable from the start and was extremely polite and professional. We had so much fun at the engagement shoot and the images were beautiful. I was surprised to see all the magical moments she captured at the venue since she was so unobtrusive. The photos are loved by all that see them. I can't thank Emily enough for creating images that we will enjoy and cherish for a lifetime!

Having worked with photographers in the wedding industry for over 10 years, choosing my wedding photographer was one of the most stressful vendor selections I had to make. We had a very specific vision in mind and I scoured the internet until I found these amazingly modern, well lit, crystal clear photos that looked like they were from a fashion shoot. After looking at just about every blog post on their website and seeing the consistency, we decided that 1314 Studio was going to be the photographers to capture our day. Meeting with Emily who is an absolute joy, and having our amazing engagement photos taken, we were thrilled with our selection. Emily is professional, extremely talented, creative and accommodating. Finding a photographer was one of the most important things on my wedding planning to-do list. I wanted to find a photographer that would do both an engagement shoot and our wedding day. I found Emily’s website and was just awed at her previous work. I had done a lot of research and found that some major photographers had some less than desirable work: cheesy poses, uninspiring shots, and nothing really memorable. I loved looking through Emily’s website, each style of photography looked like it was best suited for each client. We emailed and set up a date to meet. She was always really quick to reply to emails and was very detailed in asking us what we wanted from her.

On the day of the wedding she and her assistant Hal showed up promptly (they were actually early, getting a feel for our ceremony and reception location). We had done the engagement shoot with her so were already comfortable with what she’d do and what she’d ask of us, but she was also such a calming presence I felt like she was just another family member. During the reception, I didn’t even realize she was there taking pictures, she was so unobtrusive. I’ve been to weddings where a photographer shoved me off a dance floor to take a picture.

A few weeks after the wedding we received a link to a slideshow page set to a song that you can share with friends and family. She’ll then give you a link to the proofs where you can choose which photos you’d like for your wedding album. I recommend adding the wedding album on to your package. The quality is amazing and worth it. I believe most photographers will stop there, requiring you to buy proofs from them. Emily actually gives you your pictures (I mean…you already paid for them!) in a flash drive. It came in a beautiful keepsake box. Even the jump drive was specially made with our names on it and the date of our wedding.

I cannot recommend Emily and 1314 Studio enough. I had faith that I’d love our photographs, and I was not disappointed.

My fiance and I had our engagement session in Central Park and Brooklyn Bridge Park in NYC with Studio 1314 and our session went perfectly from start to finish. Emily is a true professional and a brilliant artist. We stumbled across Emily online and once we saw her portfolio we knew that we had to have her for our photos, her work really does speak for itself. Emily responded promptly to all of my requests, which I really appreciated. She asked for background information on my fiance and myself and also had us submit examples of photographs that we liked so that she could gain a sense of us as a couple.
When the day arrived for the photoshoot Emily and her assistant arrived on time and came ready with a plan to ensure we had time for all of the shots that we wanted. She even incorporated some shots from the photos that I had sent her as examples to make sure that she captured our style as a couple.
Emily and her assistant were very easy to work with and really made us feel relaxed, which shows in our photos. Emily sent us our finished photos within 1 week, and we were blown away when we saw the finished product.
What I love the most about Emily's work is that you can really see US through the photos. Everyone who has looked at our engagement albums keeps telling us that Emily really captured us as a couple. The photographs are beautiful and we look very natural, not posed or artificial. In fact, some of my favorite photos are ones that Emily captured when we didn't think that she was shooting us. Our photos are so incredible that one friend even told me that our photos look like they were pulled from a magazine.

I came across 1314 Studio's website while googling my wedding venue, and loved the work that Emily did for a previous wedding at McLoone's Pier House. I received a prompt reply from my inquiry and from then on Emily was easily accessible and a dream to work with. She answered all of my questions and provided wonderful suggestions as well. I loved Emily's artistic style of photography!
Before the wedding day, she suggested that I use Pinterest to call her attention to some styles or photo set ups that I liked. Coincidentally, I pinned most of her own photography.
On the wedding day, Emily and Hal were calm, unobtrusive, and got beautiful shots and angles. One of my guests even complimented me on Emily's ability to get guests together for shots while being polite and not at all pushy.
I received the photos about a month after the wedding day and got a beautiful post on 1314 Studio's blog, a slideshow with 100 photos set to a great song, a proof gallery, and a USB stick.
I am IN LOVE with how the photos came out and received so many compliments. A lot of the photos that I liked best, I didn't even remember taking! Emily and Hal know what setups, lighting, and angles to use and were so creative. We got married on the beach and those photos were incredible.

There are no words to describe what an AMAZING job both Emily & Hao did covering our wedding and pre wedding events. From the moment we contacted Emily about 1314’s packages to receiving the STUNNING pictures after the wedding, it was a very smooth process working with Emily and her team.

The whole experience was really easy & hassle free. They really take out the time to understand the couple, the event, ask and answer questions without sounding irritated, which was such a relief – and definitely sets them apart from their competitors.

Now the pics – both our families and us were left SPEECHLESS with all the amazing pictures they took!!! The quality of their pictures was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and EVERYONE we have shown the pictures to has been blown away. Emily & Hao are a TERRIFIC team with an AMAZING eye for detail – from the angles to the colors & the poses they asked to do – nothing short of amazing & the process was effortless. They are very creative & their passion and unique eye for detail is reflected in their pics.

They told our story in a magical way – more than we could have asked for or even have imagined! The tough part now is trying to decide which pictures we want printed & enlarged!! From the creative shots to the slide show they created and the note accompanying the beautifully packaged USB of all the pics, their personal touch really makes one feel special and adds to the warm memories they helped create J

Beautiful, amazing, thoughtful, story telling photography! Any Bride and Groom would be overly-satisfied working with 1314 studio for their special day. Their website absolutely portrays the quality of work you will receive. We wanted very natural, in the moment photography for our day and were so incredibly happy with not only the beautiful work, but how they told the story of our celebration. We had both outdoor and indoor photos and were impressed with their indoor-low lighting work, important for a October wedding in New Jersey.

Emily is a total rockstar! She is professional, thoughtful, and just plain awesome. She was extremely accommodating even when we were a month out and needed help. She rearranged a prior engagement to work with us and I can't thank her more. James and I both highly recommend their services and were impressed with their passion and work from start to finish.

My search for a wedding photographer started and ended with 1314 Studio. Emily was a true professional from my initial email through the delivery of our images. I grew up around talented photographers. My mother is an artist and my father was a university professor who would host symposiums featuring world renowned photographers to showcase their work and hold seminars for aspiring students. To say I’ve been to my fair share of gallery openings and exhibits would be an understatement. But, you don't have to have any prior experience with photographers to know Emily of 1314 Studio is a master at capturing the timeless image. She and her second photographer, Hal, managed to beautifully photograph every important moment without anyone knowing they were there. I never felt they were obstructing the flow of the day or getting in the way. Emily and Hal have the ability to capture the bride, groom and entire wedding party in their best light and in the way you want your wedding day to be remembered. Emily was always available and responsive to my questions before and after the wedding. She provided a lot of expertise when it came to my day-of schedule and offered great suggestions. I could not be happier with her work and would highly recommend 1314 Studio for a wedding.

Emily is amazing! There is no other photographer to chose when it's decision time. She is incredibly talented and so wonderful to work with- professional, great vision, flexible, thoughful, everything you would want. Our experience was nothing short of perfect. Our pictures were beautiful and the colors were bright and lively- exactly what I was going for. Everyone that saw them said they were the best they'd ever seen- even more than their own =) The digital files came on a personalized USB in customized packaging that reflecxted our style. we LOVE 1314studio.

We had a wonderful experience with Emily for both our engagement and wedding photography. She is extremely patient, thoughtful, and artistic. Her talent, creativity and attention to detail is phenomenal. Everyone who saw my pictures said they were the best they had ever seen - the colors were beautiful and what she is able to capture is amazing.
She is also great at making you feel at ease and natural. She and her assistant, at our wedding, were incredibly efficient and quick with everything they did. And most importantly, they are both great people. We were lucky to have found Studio 1314. I have not seen talent like this anywhere else. Thank you!

We couldn't have been happier with our experience using 1314 Studio for our engagement and wedding photos. We spent a lot of time and energy choosing a photographer for our wedding, and we feel we made the perfect choice. From the very first email, Emily was extremely professional and quick to respond to our questions. She and her assistant photographer quickly put us at ease during our engagement session, even though we were both a bit nervous. Those photos came out beautifully, and we were so pleased that we displayed the engagement photos at our wedding reception to rave reviews. Emily and her team were very good at positioning us and giving good guidance for poses. Most people are not naturally good at modeling, but her instructions made us like fashion models on our wedding day. Her tips even helped me look better in the candid photos taken at our wedding! We also got several compliments from our wedding guests about how polite and unobtrusive they were, letting the day unfold naturally without interrupting or getting in the way. On top of that, they are easygoing and fun to work with, which was a huge plus. Weddings can be very stressful, but we knew we were in good hands with 1314 Studio. The quality of their work is superb. My husband, a photographer himself, was very impressed with the technical skills they displayed in capturing our wedding in challenging conditions (bright sunlight on the beach). In short, we highly recommend 1314 Studio!

We chose 1314 studios after first being blown away by the work on the website. What really closed the deal was meeting Emily in person. We knew right away that she was going to produce the results we were looking for: modern, artistic and stunning photos that would capture the once in a lifetime fairytale we were living. Her prices are extremely competitive and I can't imagine getting more value than we received. No joke, almost every person who sees our wedding book says it is the nicest or one of the most amazing they have ever seen. We agree!

We can't thank Emily enough for her professionalism and patience throughout the whole process. She worked with us on every detail and went above an beyond to make sure we were comfortable and 100% satisfied. 1314 STUDIO/Emily is an absolute professional and a great wedding photographer! She really knows how to take great shots! She and her team got amazing pictures of us, our family and friends on the wedding day. They captured all the important moments and details of the day. 2 hrs before the wedding ceremony, we had our wedding session taken in a park and the pictures are gorgeous! Emily, knew exactly how to position us for the shots and was guiding us nicely throughout the photo session. She also did all our special request shots. At the wedding reception Emily and her team were absolutely invisible and silent. We are so happy that we choose 1314 Studio- it is true that marriage is only once in a lifetime so get it right!
A couple months before the wedding ceremony we also had an engagement session done by 1314 STUDIO-the pictures are stunning!

We're so happy we found Emily at 1314 for our wedding photos. We loved her photography style and after meeting her, knew she'd be perfect for our style wedding (1920s vintage, urban, with a sophisticated evening feel). We did not want the usual cookie-cutter or cheesy wedding photography (I'm a graphic designer so the style of photo was VERY important to me.)

Emily and her assistant were so professional up to, during, and after the wedding: on time, unobtrusive, but still getting all the shots we wanted (and things we didn't know we wanted!)

The photos look AMAZING. She really did wonders with the space and lighting, and us! The photos were done and delivered so quickly, and we really couldn't be happier. Also, her prices were very fair and she was flexible with packages and prints, so we really got exactly what we wanted. I HIGHLY recommend 1314.

We chose 1314 Studio Photography to shoot our wedding and we can not express how happy we are with our decision. From our 1st meeting, to our engagment photo shoot and all through our new year's eve wedding this past December 31, 2011, Emily was professional, patient, artistic, and just an absolute delight to work with. Hal her partner who we met on the day of the wedding was great also! Our engagement photos were beautiful and everyone that saw them loved them. Additionally numerous people in our wedding party commented on how much they loved our photographers and how good they were with organizing and getting the shots they wanted in a timely manner. We used 1314 studio for our wedding a few months ago and we have to say we absolutely loved them. They are very professional and yet very fun to work with. We do not feel stressed at all. All of the pictures are spectacular, with fun poses, beautiful surroundings, and everyone smiling.

We were also extremely impressed with their level of work ethic and customer service. Our wedding is held in Boston, MA, but their location is in NJ. They drove all the way from NJ to Boston and stayed here in a hotel for two days for our wedding!

Their price is also reasonable, especially considering their level of talent and personal service.

We highly recommend them. Thank you so much!

We had a great experience with the photographers. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. The moments they help us captured will be with us for a lifetime. They were willing to go out of their way for us. We had a last minute booking since our original photographer double booked, however, 1314 Studio had no problems accommodating us on such short notice. We couldn't be happier with how things turned out. The portraits turned out sharp and the colors were amazing. They even took pictures of things we would never think of that adds a great touch of personalization. We will recommend them to all our friends and family.

Khoa did a wonderful job at catching candid photo for our pre wedding album.We liked all the photographs. He made us fell very comfortable throughout the photo shoot. I would surely recommend Khoa for any candid photography assignments.

My husband and I had Khoa as our photographer to shoot our pre-wedding event, our Hindu (Telugu) wedding ceremony and our reception. Khoa is extremely friendly, personable, very enthusiastic :), and made us feel at ease during our photo-sessions. He is also good at candid photography and managed to shoot our large wedding and long ceremony well. Khoa was also very prompt and professional- both in arriving on the day and in delivering our photographs as per contract. We would recommend him highly!

We used 1314 studios for our wedding. Loved their work on other people's weddings. They may be better at Christian--white wedding dress, suit for men type of weddings. We had an Indian wedding. Unfortunately, it was raining so a lot of our possible outdoor venues/photo ops were taken away.

We were promised our photos in 6-8 weeks but they were back logged. We ended up getting our photos in November of 2013. The packaging of our USB was very nice. We got a link to a proof in our email. There were a few photos on 2 pages out of order. I emailed pointing out that they were out of order, but was told that that was the style. When I mentioned that I really would like it better if the photos were in order, and made a few specific suggestions on swapping specific photos, I was told that there were no other options other than what I had been given. At the time, we had just bought a house and I was pregnant. The interchange was stressful for me, so I left it alone. A few months ago (Feb 2015), I wrote another email, just asking for the album as is, as I didn't want to argue and just wanted the album that we had paid for two years before. When the album arrived, my full first name (which I never use) was imprinted on the front of the album. On the inside, my nickname (which was used on the invitations, photo booth cards, etc) was used and spelled properly. There were also a lot of changes to the proof originally given (a lot more photos out of order!). We could have gotten a similar album made to our liking and specifications I a much more timely manner. The photos were nice, but the rest of the experience left much to be desired. My brother got married last year, and. Endless to say, we found another photographer.

Disappointing

Pro:
Khoa was lovely to work with on the day-of. He gave us clear direction for poses, and was an expert at dealing with my difficult family members for portraits

Cons:
Only 20-25 candid photos — not sure what the team was doing during the reception, or how badly the photos turned out that they couldn’t make the final cut. There were no candids of the bridal party, and none of the bride/groom parents together
Final photos feel unfinished /not fully edited
Cluttered framing — subjects in photo don’t seem intentionally framed, background in portraits was cluttered (extension chords, wall fixtures, etc.)
Crooked photos — despite having acres of land on our campground venue to work with, portraits were taken on a hill, and appear crooked
The one photo my mom and I requested (a shot of me & my husband with our childhood friends on the back of my dad’s truck) was skipped…instead we got a photo of the truck by itself in the parking lot (it looks like a sketchy Craigslist ad)

If your wedding is only 1 day, and doesn’t feature ornate set-pieces to shoot in front of, the team will not be attentive to your final product.

STAY FAR AWAY-- unless you want your money taken and your precious memories lost

My husband and I hired 1314 Studio, under the direction of Khoa Nguyen, to provide videography services for our wedding events at the end of November/early December. A written contract was signed between us and Khoa Nguyen, head of the company, confirming the terms we agreed on (3-5 minute cinematic highlight video and 3 documentary-style long edits).

We had paid the FULL amount according to the contract. Around the scheduled delivery time for the trailer video, we contacted Khoa for an update. He responded 2-3 days later and demanded additional money, claiming it was required because our wedding exceeded the originally agreed coverage hours. He threatened that if we did not pay, the trailer video would be removed from Vimeo. Concerned about losing these precious memories, we paid the requested amount immediately.

When it came time to deliver the long edits, we made repeated attempts to contact Khoa via his personal number and the company's main line, left voicemails, sent text messages, and even sent physical certified mail with return receipt--but received no response. This is not a dispute over a small amount like $100 or $200 -- it involves thousands of dollars. More importantly, it concerns irreplaceable memories of our wedding, moments we hoped to preserve and one day share with our children.

It has now been 10 months since our wedding, and despite numerous attempts to resolve this matter, we have not received a refund nor our wedding footage from Khoa and his team. The emotional distress and damage caused by this situation have been significant. To this day, Khoa Nguyen has not responded to our claims and now says he doesn't remember us. Even more concerning is that he continues to operate his
business as reviews online show - failing to fulfill previous contracts and repeating the same behavior he demonstrated with us. To prevent further harm to other clients, I am writing this review about my experience with 1314 Studio.

I strongly urge anyone considering this company to STAY FAR AWAY-- unless you want your money taken and your precious memories lost.

Do not hire Khoa

Khoa is dishonest and unprofessional. He will not respond back to calls or emails if he gets paid in full for his services. Only hire him if you want to be scammed out of $6,000 + and not get what you paid for and was agreed upon in the contract. Khoa is extremely scummy, if I had known sooner I would never have hired him for my wedding. I would not recommend him to my worse enemy

Do not recommend!

Please be aware this company does not care about client satisfaction/follow what's on their contract. My sister had her wedding last year (2022) and it's been over a year that she's been trying to get in touch with the company in regards to editing a portion of the highlight video and returning a hard drive (WE the client) bought and provided 1314 studio to send to us with edited footage from both the ceremony and reception. We've tried contacting Khoa many times but no response at all! As someone who's also in this industry, it's simply unprofessional to not respond to someone about their big day! Khoas professionalism is a show up until he deposits the clients money. This is all that they have to cherish and getting screwed over by your videography company is the last thing someone should deal with. Would not recommend at all!!

Stay away unless you want a headache and out of $6k

Khoa was fine the day of the wedding and was responsive with emails and texts before the wedding. Khoa's professionalism was gone after the day of the wedding with everything paid in full and he was also generously tipped the day after the wedding. The pictures (pics was sent through text which had a link to the pics) and videos took almost a year to get and both were at separate times and this is after many phone calls and emails that went unanswered. It is now almost 2 years and I still have not received my photo album or canvas, also I paid a little extra to get an hour of pictures and video the day of the wedding since we didn't take engagement pictures(Didn't get those pictures and footage) They didn't take any pictures that included my whole family with my husband's family. We also paid for food that he and his team ate at the venue. If I could go back and choose a different company for pictures and videos of my wedding I would. There are so many other people you can hire for your special day without you having to spend over $6k and not getting your money's worth let alone having to deal with them long after your wedding day.
