1208 couldn’t have been a better venue for my dream wedding. The amount of space you get is insane! My guest were so impressed with the space. The terraces were perfect for cocktail hour and there was plenty of room for dancing! Morgan and Haley were the best to work with!

Morgan was wonderful to work with on my daughter's wedding and reception. She met several times with us and our vendors to make sure everyone was on the same page. She was very flexible on our timeline and use of the facilities. I highly recommend the venue and you should ask for Morgan.

Morgan made planning so easy! She was so quick to respond and accommodate our needs. She was extremely helpful in providing recommendations for where everything should go and for hiring other vendors. She is also so kind. There is not a prettier, nicer vendor in Columbia.

This place is located in the best location near hotels so you dont have to drive far distance after your event.

This building is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! Regardless to how our wedding planner did us wrong; this building made up for it. Trust me when I tell you Stephanie who helped us was so sweet and the absolute BEST!! I will definitely be going there again for my events. The amount we paid was soooo worth it! It was close to $7,000, but that’s because we had it on a Saturday and we had the whole building.

I chose 1208 because it is so stately and beautiful that it requires little else in terms of decorations. This venue was not only gorgeous but also a great, unique space! Between the upstairs ballroom, mezzanine, downstairs ballroom, multilevel outdoor terraces, library, and amazing vault, my guests were gushing at the building all night long. It made for a beautiful venue, and the pictures are gorgeous. It was also in a great location! Due to its central location in downtown, it was close to parking decks, hotels, and places for pre-wedding photos. Working with the staff was a breeze, and they were extremely accommodating whether it was communicating through e-mail, scheduling showings, etc. I am so glad I chose 1208 Washington Place!

We had an amazing wedding at 1208. Our guest could not stop commenting on how they loved the venue. We decided to get married on the terraces which had never been done before. We loved the ceremony layout that was done outside. Carly was beyond AMAZING with everything that she did and helped with for our wedding! We could not have asked for a better venue wedding experience!

Absolutely stunning! We cannot wait for our wedding in December around Christmas time. We fell in love from the moment we walked into the building. Such a neat place! We are having our ceremony and reception here on a Friday so we rented the entire building. Highly recommend! Very friendly and accommodating staff! You will NOT be disappointed!

I recently had the pleasure of working with 1208 Washington Place for my wedding, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From start to finish, they were professional, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our day truly special. First and foremost, the communication was outstanding. They were prompt in responding to emails and always made themselves available to answer any questions or concerns we had. This level of responsiveness really put our minds at ease during the planning process. I cannot recommend 1208 Washington Place highly enough. If you're looking for a wedding venue who will truly go the extra mile to make your day unforgettable, look no further. Working with 1208 Washington and their staff was one of the best decisions we made during our wedding planning process, and I am so grateful for their hard work and dedication.

This venue is the perfect location for any special event. The building has a rich history, and makes the awesome backdrop for any occasion.

Washington Place is a beautiful venue and the cost was very reasonable, especially when you consider that table, chair, and furniture rental is included. With that said, I would not say that we had a great experience working with Carly and her team. I am still glad that I had my wedding there, but some buyer beware......
I booked the venue when a friend was working there, and booking was a smooth and very easy process with her. She was professional and transparent and there were no hidden fees. We opted to pay extra to have the venue available to us from 8am to 11pm and we also paid an additional fee to have a staff person available to us to help move large furniture, stock the bathrooms, turn on the lights, etc. We rented the library, the vault, and hallway between them, which was perfect for our group of 40.
We arrived at 8am to the building be 54° and the heat not on and the building was absolutely filthy. We found food waste, crushed napkins, and empty mini bottles scattered throughout both rooms, leftover tables and tablecloths from another event, numerous lightbulbs out in the library, bathrooms without soap or paper towels (that never ended up stocked), and an incredibly surly employee who seemed to be in the building for the first time ever and couldn't answer any questions. While most the furniture we had requested had been put in place the night before, for which we were appreciated, Carly chose to email me at 8 pm the night before my wedding (which I of course did not see) to let me know the couch I had requested, and was assured I could use a mere four days earlier, had been destroyed and that I would need to make due with a horribly soiled white couch. Later on around noon, a cleaning person arrived. She mopped the ballroom, ignored the rooms we rented, and left. I would not book another event with them to say the very least.

This venue is gorgeous BUT the management SUCKS! You can not have the catering company of your choice...you have to pick from their “preferred list” which may I add has NO African American caterers. You have to pay $100+ at these “selected catering companies” for tasting and the food lacked seasoning and presentation was poor which of course I did not find out until AFTER we were in contract. Once you express how unsatisfied you are with management I was told to basically “figure it out on my own” or discuss these issues with the catering company. After several conversations with management they stated I could have an outside caterer but would have to pay an additional $750 on top of the 20% fee they receive off of the total cost of my food. At this point my fiancé and I decided to walk away and found a venue that will allow us to have whatever catering company we want with NO EXTRA CHARGES. I attempted to communicate my issues with the “supposed” owner of 1208 Washington via email and telephone and what do you know....I received no call back or email back. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS LOCATION!!!

AVOID IF YOU WANT ANY HELP FROM OWNERSHIP! We set a May 2020 date at 1208 Washington Place in June 2019. We paid a deposit in June and the remaining balance in January, month ahead of the deadline. COVID forced us to change plans. When we asked for a refund of the balance we paid in advance in good faith, we were told we could only pick a new date among a very limited selection, which of course appears nowhere in the contract we signed for May 16. We have since tried reaching out to get a hold of someone who can help us and we have heard NOTHING in reply.

It's a beautiful space and booking was a breeze, but you're spending a lot of money on this space. You're better off taking your money somewhere you know people are around to help you. That's not 1208 Washington Place, which is owned by a large company with dozens of properties. Take the safe route and go somewhere you can trust.

The venue had no air conditioning due to the air conditioner freezing up. The management refuses to acknowledge the issue and blames it on the caterer.
