We have no words to describe the gift that is Michaella and her camera. We are absolutely blown away by our wedding photos and her ability to create PURE MAGIC! The way she captured all of the love, emotion, fun, and essence of our wedding day is truly incredible, and we are beyond grateful for her service and unique ability! Because of her, we can relive all of the special moments from our wedding day, over and over again and we are SO LUCKY. She is a delight to work with and you can truly put all of your trust in her - she makes it seem so easy, but she works extremely hard and is a true professional. What stands out to me the most about Michaella’s work is the way she captures emotion in her photos. She captured such strong emotion in every last one of our photos. When I received the finished photos, I fell in love with all of them. They are all breathtaking. Looking through them, I can feel the emotions I felt in that moment. Not only is she a very talented photographer, but she is so sweet and so professional. I truly enjoyed talking to her on my wedding day, she is like a ray of sunshine and will bring a smile to your face!

Wow wow. When reflecting on our wedding day, when thinking of Michaella and Zac's presence at our wedding the first word that comes to mind is grounding. Throughout the whole process, they were a calming and grounding presence, always willing to reassure us that everything would be smooth and taken care of and on the wedding day, their peaceful presence, problem solving nature, and organization was vital and a place we found ourselves leaning on throughout the day. Receiving the photos, we were absolutely blown away! The previews they sent the day after were such a gift and the full gallery had us in tears! They overdelivered in every way possible and reflecting on the photos months later makes us even more thankful and in awe of their talent. As a couple in the creative industry, photography was one of our top priorities and we are so incredibly thankful we were able to have Michaella and Zac. We admire them deeply and would recommend them to anyone!

We hired both Michaella of Yellow Bird Visuals and her husband, Zac, and it was the BEST decision. They were beyond professional (I truly had ALL of the questions), and just so fun and flexible. We had so many people comment on what a great job they were doing day-of, and then have been absolutely in love with all of our photos. The style of photography is exactly what we were hoping for. We'll cherish these photos forever since they truly capture us and our family in more of a documentary-style, incredible way.

Michaella was fantastic—she captured our disco wedding perfectly. I feel like she "got" our vision of a non-traditional wedding from the get-go. She's great with dark spaces and has a really wonderful sense of light. She's present but not intrusive and goes above and beyond to capture fun, quirky and off-beat moments.

Michaella’s shot our wedding back in October and did an absolutely amazing job. From email communication to working on our wedding timeline to venue walk-throughs, Michaella was an absolute dream to work with. During wedding weekend, she hung around in the bridal suite even after finishing up with her detail shots and getting ready shots to offer help with random tasks like helping me put on bangles, helping us find random lost items, etc. She easily could have been taking a break and enjoying some down time during these lulls before our events, but she was always there for moral support. She offered such a warm and friendly presence during the entire wedding weekend.

At our Saturday events at the Fox, she and her husband/second-shooter Zach did a phenomenal job of catch us in our element. Never once did Michaella or Zac force us to do awkward, staged poses. Instead, they played on our natural chemistry and interactions to capture beautiful and unique portraits. They caught a number of tender moments between us that we didn’t even know were being photographed. These ended up being some of our favorite shots! They told us that their goal was to “tell the story,” and they certainly did just that!


In addition to her eye and talent, Michaella’s dramatic, moody yet natural editing style is truly unique and moving. We were drawn to her work as soon as we looked her up, and she delivered exactly what we envisioned if not more.
