I've been going to the Yacht club for my haircuts from Heather for awhile now, so I had no doubt they would do a good job for the wedding day.

This is an extremely professional salon with very skilled stylists. Their practice run lets you see how you'll look the day of and the glo mineral makeup that they use looks great.

I recommend them for haircuts all the time and would recommend them for special event hair as well

I was so glad I went in for a trial run on hair and makeup; my experience was terrible. I emphasized at the beginning of the appointment that I wanted my makeup to be as subtle and minimal as possible, and even though I think the girl who worked on me tried to work with me, I still ended up with much more makeup than I'd anticipated. Still, the real problem was the hair. After about 5 minutes of consultation, without looking at any pictures, the girl started in on the style. I also wasn't shown what was being done, so I had no idea what my hair looked like until the end, and in my opinion it was a complete disaster. It did match the description of the hairstyle she'd given me, but only because the initial description was so vague. I never imagined that anyone would think my hair looked good the way she'd styled it; if I'd been consulted along the way, I definitely would have corrected her midway through. I had also asked how long the trial would take, and we ran more than 45 minutes over what I was told.

In fairness, I came in without pictures of my own, and I wasn't able to make it in for my trial until the week before the wedding. Still, given the salon's inability to keep to a schedule, the lack of meaningful consultation, and the horrific end result, I decided to take a risk and go elsewhere, even if that meant I couldn't do a trial. Also, extremely expensive, especially considering the final product.

My daughter received services for her “wedding hair” for $2100 at The Yacht Club salon by Kathryn, stylist. My daughter’s own hair & extensions are unevenly cut, both cut shorter than my daughter asked for, & are multiple colors after the stylist tried to color the extensions with what looks like bleach spots, definitely not the platinum blonde with dark roots she requested. The owner refuses to refund my daughter anything, backs up the stylist’s version, & insists that my daughter come in to have her hair looked at & to have it fixed. My daughter is beyond upset & she doesn’t trust the salon now! What happened to “the customer is always right”? Has anyone else had this experience there?
