it's a family affair.

we are scott and cristen chester, a husband and wife team based in atlanta and available worldwide. we absolutely love working together because it keeps us connected to each other and to our family. cristen keeps our studio running super smoooth while scott focuses on the photography side of things. his love affair with the camera started very early on all thanks to having a professional photographer dad. our two girls play their part in the biz too, as constant sources of inspiration, silliness and as ever-willing muses for our camera!

we love what we do.

we are absolutely passionate about photography and inspired by happy people in love! we feel so lucky to form such amazing connections with our couples and we are thrilled to use our distinctive perspective and imagery to tell the story of one of their most amazing days together.

our style is like this...

we use a modern approach, mixing photojournalism with fine art and infusing creativity into everything we do. we are constantly seeking interesting angles, smitten with beautiful light and crazy about real emotion inspired moments. we have fun with our couples and document their wedding in a way that is fresh, whimsical, expressive, organic, genuine, unobtrusive and above all - creative. that's it.

If you're considering W. Scott Chester for your wedding photographer, do yourself a favor and sign the contract! Scott and his photo partner, Adam, were not only the highlight of our wedding vendors even prior to the wedding with their professionalism, service, example galleries, etc but proved that he is worth even more than his cost the day of the wedding and after receiving pictures. To have such a laid back personality between the two of them but having such an idea for incredible photos, these are skills that are hard to find. They are experienced in the industry and know how to make you feel so comfortable that it feels like you've been friends forever - this is unheard of, especially when you are spending all day with your family and friends, it's a surreal feeling to be this comfortable. THEN, we received our pictures and gallery and our minds were blown again - not one moment was missed and the pictures made us allowed us to relive such a special day. We have no doubt that out of our 10+ photographer options, we chose the right one by FAR. You will be so happy you can check this vendor off your list, looking forward to the next event I can work with Scott and Adam. Thank you guys a million!!

It was important for us to have a photographer that would be able to truly capture the style and charm of our Southern wedding at Vinewood Plantation, and that's exactly what Scott did. His creative, photo-journalism approach makes for a refreshing change and our pictures feel truly unique. They are stunning! We couldn't be happier.

Scott was our wedding photography. Photography is such a big investment and Scott was worth every penny. We both live in the Atlanta area so my husband and I met him at a restaurant beforehand. This was so great because on the day of the wedding, I felt completely comfortable with Scott. Photographers are there for all the "private" moments with your Mom, Dad, close friends, and all the time with your brand new spouse, so being comfortable with him was so important. Both he and the 2nd photographer, Roger, blended into the background so I barely noticed them throughout the day-- rather than photographers for stand at the front of the aisle and they are all you can see. Our pictures came back earlier than expected and were exactly what we wanted. We spoke with Scott about our style and he did exactly that. He really listened to our needs and wants, and we were incredibly happy with him. His wife Cristen manages the business side of it and she was incredibly responsive and very helpful.

Scott + Adam are THE BEST! they make magic photos!!!!!

We hired them for an NYC portrait-turned-surprise-to-me-engagement session and then of course asked them to shoot our wedding the following year. They are thoughtful, creative, and don't take cheesy, posed photos. They shoot spontaneously, which produces one of a kind images. Our e-session was featured by 100 Layer Cake and our wedding photos will be featured on there as well.

Communication with Scotts adorable wife Cristen was always great and I feel that their pricing is adequate for the amount of talent and time that they put into their work. Honestly, I think they are worth more. I would have paid double. Theres no photographers in the industry that make images like this, try to find them, you wont. What I love about these two is that they have been photographers all their lives. They know their stuff, they just happen to love shooting weddings too.

W. Scott Chester is the best. As soon as I saw an example of their pictures I knew they were the ones I had to have for my wedding at Serenbe. To save money, we worked with the associate photographer, Adam, who was a dream. Our pictures turned out SO beautiful, and I could not imagine another photographer doing as great of a job as they did. I can't tell you how many comments I got from friends and family stating that they were the most beautiful pictures they had ever seen. Of course I am partial, but they really are the most beautiful wedding pictures I have seen! Would totally recommend them 100%.

Scott and Cristen were an absolute joy to work from our initial meeting to engagement pictures, wedding day, and post wedding follow ups. Cristen was a wonderful resource and had plenty of recommendations on other essential vendors to make our day perfect in every way. Our engagement and wedding day pictures were soo creative and beautiful in every way- Scott had no qualms about rolling in the itchy grass in 80 degree weather to get the perfect shot.

It never gets old hearing how much people love your wedding pictures and the online slideshow made sharing our special day so much fun. It was also incredibly exciting to see our engagement pictures featured on the knot and weddings unveiled blogs and our wedding pictures featured on the southern weddings blog! I recommend Scott to everyone I know because I know they will love working with this wonderful husband and wife and fall in love with every picture they take.

Scott was wonderful to work with on my wedding day. Even when I had my bride meltdown when things were running behind, he kept his cool and helped me keep mine - and we got the pictures we needed! His vision, his talent, his editing skills and the entire experience well exceeded my expectations. Scott's work was worth every penny and if I had to do it all over again, I'd hire Scott again without a moment's hesitation. I LOVE my wedding photos!!

W Scott Chester is an amazing!!! After our engagement photo's, I knew he would go above and beyond to make our wedding experience memorable. Even my skeptical (hates getting his photo taken) husband came around a loved every minute of the photographer sessions at our wedding. I can't wait to see the results!!

We LOVED working with Scott Chester and his wife Cristen. They are so incredibly professional and his pictures were breathtaking! It was very hard for us to pick a favorite! We loved Scott's work so much that we reccomended him to all of our friends. 5 STARS!!!

I am so glad that I chose W.Scott Chester as my photographer! Scott and Cristen made my wedding planning so fun and easy. Cristen is super organized and helped me to remember all of the wedding day details that would be necessary. My husband is not really into taking pictures. However, Scott put him at ease and made our engagement session and wedding day pictures a blast! We are extremely thrilled with all of wedding photos. I would highly recommend them to any future brides!
