The Davidson Center was the PERFECT place for our wedding reception. We had about 650 guests, and the facility was perfect for our needs. Lindsey and the special events staff met our every need, and they were always available via phone or email and quick to return calls. The space is beautiful and great for a reception with dancing, and the food was delicious. The chef worked with all our dietary needs and offered a wide variety of menu options as well. It was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding!

We held our reception at The Davidson Center. Claudia Jones was out event coordinator there and she did an outstanding job and is a true professional. We were able to meet with the catering team and pick out a selection of food that my husband and I wanted that was not on the regular menu. We did the tasting and it was wonderful. We had almost 200 people and the food was served on a buffet and was delicious! Huge steaks and chicken and was cooked perfectly! The room was set up exactly as planned and everything went perfectly.

We originally discounted even checking here as a venue because we where afraid they would be very overpriced. Turns out they had several very affordable locations for our ceremony (although, we ended up splurging on the most costly). The rentals for the chair ect. were VERY reasonable. We could visit the venue when ever we wanted. The only complaint I have was their flexibility, as we couldn't get the space we originally wanted at the time we wanted due to another exhibit, and you can only rent without other people being around after the museum closes (which is understandable). Caroline at the Space Center was amazing! She responded very quickly to every email I sent her. She did everything in her power to help us with our day, and answer any questions we had. Caroline took genuine interest in our wedding, so she really made working with them a great experience. I highly recommend the Space Center, and Caroline, if you have the opportunity.

1. They required us to use them as their caterer. They were kind enough to alter a cool buffet menu to a full service one. But they didn't practice presentation. It looked pretty slopy on the plate. Though it tasted pretty good.
2. They are the worst at responding. The did not show up to our first scheduled meeting. They were significantly late to two others. If I didn't fall in love with the idea of having the event underneath the Saturn V, I would have never considered them.
3. The special events coordinator did not have an understanding of the layout for that night. I placed a table somewhere that should have been free according to their diagram, but it ended up being practically in the middle of the dance floor. Don't trust their documentation. Visit the room often leading up to the event. They are always improving the exhibits which can get in the way of the event if you are not careful.
In the end: Awesome place to have it. The CEO was amazingly kind. I just wish his Special events staff was a bit more competent.

The Space and Rocket Center holds a great place in my heart. This is where I meet my husband and then married him! Most everyone was extremely helpful. I have heard many people have been let go since my wedding. To have your wedding here is truly a unique experince!!

The best thing about the Space and Rocket center is the rocket. That's it. As a former counselor I was extremely disappointed and embarresed in the quality of facilities coordinators, specifically response times and follow through. This is such a special place, and I would hate to turn anyone away if the space center is "THE" place for them, but just be aware that you will have to do most of your own legwork and ask questions several times to make sure the right people get them answered. Example: my husband and I were told from the very beginning (about a year out from our event) that the tables would be set up in the Davidson Center at 2:30pm, and available for our people to set up decorations, etc. Apparently when our helpers arrived no tables were set up and the catering manager had no idea that 2:30 was the agreed time. Also, I specifically wrote out instructions for cutting our sheet cakes, at the request of the coordinator, and again, the catering manager had no idea he was to cut those cakes.
