About

UNIQUE WEDDING VENUE IN HISTORIC COLLIERVILLE TN.

The Quonset is a Reception Hall/Event Venue located in the heart of Collierville, one block south of the historic town square. The building is a rounded "Quonset" design, made famous by the United States Navy during WWII for its use in housing the military around the world. The term Quonset comes from the town of Quonset, Rhode Island, where the majority of the Navy Quonsets were fabricated.


This double Quonset building was built in 1952 by Wonder Products. The original "Wonder Horse" rocking horses were manufactured in this building and shipped worldwide. Wonder Products was sold in the late 1970's, and production in Collierville was ceased in 1982. The building was leased to numerous tenants and gradually fell into disrepair. The building has received an extensive restoration, with great care to retain the unique characteristics of the building.


The Quonset features 4700 total feet of space, with an open floor plan of 3300 feet, sloping walls that rise to 20 feet, an exposed brick wall, a catering kitchen, and convenient parking make the facility an ideal setting for weddings and/or receptions, galas, parties, off site meetings/corporate events, and much more.

Beautiful venue and very helpful owners

First of all, it is a beautiful venue! I got married here on 5/31/2020. Second, the owners were patient and willing to be flexible with us while planning a wedding during the COVID pandemic! They provided safety measures, such as plastic shields to go across the food table and set up the space to allow for social distancing when possible.
Our wedding may not have been what we originally planned (and that’s okay!), but the Quonset helped make sure it was still beautiful and memorable!

The Quonset was a beautiful venue! The staff was so quick to answer our questions and helped us make so many decisions. They were so kind and made our wedding day go so smoothly! I told them the vision I had for what I wanted the reception to look like and they made it happen!

If you are having a wedding in Collierville/Germantown/East location, this venue is perfect. Our guest only had to walk to the reception versus a 20-30 minute drive. Sheila was always timely in answering emails and texts. We were able meet with her a couple of times for planning purposes. The tables/chairs/bar are rented for a reasonable cost and they are onsite. No need to arrange delivery and pick up. We loved the lighting such as chandeliers, gas lamps and outdoor space and lighting. We had the venue for the whole day. We used the bridal room to get ready. Only downside was trying to get out before closing time and trying to find an acceptable departure item. We ended up using glow sticks. We couldn't throw anything.

I enjoyed having my wedding at The Quonset. The venue is very pretty and I love the brick wall and chandeliers. I had both my ceremony and reception at the venue and got ready there as well - the bridal suite was perfect. I'm a very type a person so when the set-up wasn't immediately what I had wanted I had a bit of a melt down and was about to get all the groomsmen to re-arrange but Sheila had it taken care of even though it was different from their usual set up. I loved having the ceremony and reception set up completely different and venue looked beautiful in each.

The location is beautiful and reasonably priced. Sheila was wonderful to work with and very responsive on all of my questions (even the obvious and seemingly silly ones). I would have liked to have been able to get into the site on Friday night for my Saturday afternoon reception (as the bride I was not able to see the reception setup beforehand because of hair and makeup and photo scheduling and I would have liked to) and think this would be a great service to add as long as the site is not booked on that Friday evening. I would still highly recommend the Quonset and loved having my reception there!
