The Hitching Post Ranch was one of many venues we look at around the Columbus area. After visiting their venue, we knew that they were above all the other places. It is a barn venue that is secluded and surrounded by beautiful views. The owners, Mick and Lisa, are so nice and are so proud of their property. During the year, they continued to improve their already beautiful property based off clients feedback and reflecting on ways to make the already enjoyable experience better for their guests. Mick and Lisa also were so helpful the night of the wedding too. They are there to help drop off guests in golf carts if they need it, drive the bride and groom around for pictures around the property, and help maintaining the barn during the reception. They both checked in with us throughout the day to make sure everything was going well.
They have several packages for their venue and list of preferred vendors on their website that couples can choose from but we were also allowed to bring in different venders if we wanted to. They just needed to meet some criteria for liability reasons. My husband and I decided to go with their Grand Ranch package which came with a whole list of amenities along with their day of coordinator, Beth. She was great to work with throughout the whole process. She helped us come up with a loose timeline, think through details we might be missing, and kept the day of running smoothly. She also is prepared to help with anything that might come up during the day of to help keep everything moving without a wrinkle. We even ran into a issue after our wedding day and she was a huge help in sorting that out!
Overall, we could not have asked for a better wedding experience. Mick, Lisa, Beth, and their whole team truly care about their couples and their guests. If you are looking for a barn venue around the Columbus area, you defiantly need to reach out to the Hitching Post Ranch. You will not be disappointed!

My daughter was married there 7/16/22. The venue was everything and MORE!! Stunning views and location. Exceptional amenities!! Mick, Lisa , and Beth were top of their game! I can’t tell you how many of our guests complimented us on the THPR , they were highly impressed. Thanks for making our daughters dream come true.

Lisa & Mick went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect weekend experience. I couldn’t imagine having our wedding anywhere other than the HPR. You will not be disappointed with this venue. The views and whole atmosphere is breathtaking. Highly recommend!

HPR was the first venue we toured. We instantly loved it! We toured 3-4 other venues after that but just kept coming back to HPR. The level of service, the price, and the value of what you’re getting for said price is unmatched!!! Beth, and Mick, and Lisa are OUR kind of people. They have made us feel right at home throughout this process and we cannot wait for our big day!

I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful our wedding was here at the Hitching Post Ranch! The ceremony site offers an amazing natural backdrop. The reception area is functional and extremely beautiful. There are many amazing locations for beautiful sunset portraits too! Not only is the venue amazing, but the owners make the experience all the better! Mick and Lisa were so involved in making sure our day was just how we pictured it. You are not treated as a couple getting married, but rather as a part of their family; this sets them apart from all the other venues we visited and had solidified our choice before we had even seen the whole place! We cannot thank them enough for making our wedding, the wedding of our dreams!

If you want a super laid back do-it-yourself kind of wedding, this is your place;if you are someone who needs consistent set plans and guidance sprinkled with a little elegance, you may want to look elsewhere. I booked this venue with full on Sweet Home Alabama (the movie) vibes. I am a city girl but with coronavirus still somewhat at play, we booked this charming country outdoor venue to ensure some social distancing.
We initially loved the venue but what we were not told is that during the time of our wedding, they would be undergoing remodeling to the venue bathrooms and the designated area where we had our rehearsal dinner and got ready the day of our wedding.That upset me because it was not included in our contract nor was it aesthetically pleasing at all, no flooring & finishings, and we were not warned that they were going to be doing this until we arrived for our wedding weekend. I had to purchase a carpet myself for women's bathroom as they only had plywood flooring and guests were having to walk through wet grass in heels to get to bathroom as they did not yet have an entrance for the women bathroom.
The venue is owned by a sweet couple who basically run the entire operation with some family, along with their friend who is the wedding coordinator. Very nice people, but not big on organization/planning. Ie- the day of the wedding my coordinator said they would be there in the morning to set up.The day came, my florists show up, and coordinator is not there, nothing is ready, so my parents and friends scrambled to set up tables and help florists. We had the venue until 11pm, but venue owners instructed dj to announce last call at 10pm.Little things like that, where we were told one thing by the venue and then those things never came to fruition, continued to happen which impacted my final review of venue.They offered us wedding props but said we would have to pay to rent them-fyi there is a much nicer venue down the road (who is booked out 2 years) that lets you use all props for free and charges the same amount as HPR.
The weekend package includes wedding coordinator and shuttle bus amongst other things. Only crucial benefit in opting for weekend package is to ensure there is not a wedding at the venue the night before yours. The wedding coordinator was kind but did not do much(She created a day of time line, was present for rehearsal and was there to guide the wedding party down the aisle the day of...I felt that I had to do a lot of wedding day coordinating myself between venders like dj,florists,wedding party,photographer. At one point I had to call someone to escort myself and my entire wedding party by golf cart to the reception as I could not walk in my dress and my wedding coordinator was nowhere to be found.We also had little details promised to us for the reception that were not given because they told us they simply forgot. We were also told the venue had wifi for guests by the owner the day we toured the venue, but again this was not true as I asked for the wifi info during our wedding weekend and was told they did not have it by the same person who said they did.
The reception area is beautiful and a huge part of why we committed to this venue. Beyond that, much of the the venue is travel by foot and all locations are just far enough away that, in a dress/heels/tux you really want to be diligent about how much you have to walk- separate areas of the venue include an area to get ready, the ceremony, to the reception.There is uphill/down hill, gravel and grass torrain.This is also why it was upsetting when my wedding coordinator was nowhere to be found when my and my wedding party needed to be introduced at our reception-we ended up being about a half hour late which my dj was upset about and instead of speaking with the coordinator, it was me!
Overall, I clearly loved my wedding, the owners are very very sweet, but it just did not feel like they conducted things in the formal manner I had hoped for.

Let me start by saying the venue is GORGEOUS. It has the potential to be fantastic. Unfortunately there was so much stress related to the whole event. We got so much push back on things we asked for at our first meeting and we’re told would be ok. Multiple people overheard staff negatively talking about our wedding and that caused me (the bride) a lot of stress. The planner forgot to put the rose petals out in the aisle. It just felt like we were constantly inconveniencing them. It really made it hard to enjoy the day.
