Our wedding was beautiful and elegant. We had a great time. The colors were what we wanted and more.

Where do I begin? We initially had a family friend retained to decorate our wedding. That did not work out (lesson learned). I truly thought I was doomed because my decorator dropped out at such a late date. I hired Kia, The Decorating Queen at the last minute and she really made me regret not hiring her in the beginning. I think the most impressive skill that she LISTENS! She listened to my horror story in addition to my needs and wants. Once she found out what style was, it was game on! She did an amazing job decorating using my inspirational photos and her suggested decor was exactly what I needed to make my centerpieces pop! Not to mention EVERYONE LOVED my bouquet! Everything happens for a reason and The Decorating Queen is surely one of the reasons we were smiling on our wedding day. She’s already hired for my anniversary party!

Kia was absolutely amazing! She followed up with me multiple times before the day of to make sure everything was going well. I had planned and obtained the decor, but Kia and her team brought my ideas to LIFE! She was incredibly responsive, and was even able to accommodate last minute issues that had come up. Kia was wonderful to work with, and I’d definitely recommend her to everyone looking for a decorator!

Where to begin! I have only positive remarks about The Decorating Queen and Kia who owns the company. She and her team made our COVID wedding something to talk about.... in that it finally wasn't COVID that was the focal conversation! While our wedding got pushed so many times that we actually referred to it as a Vow Renewal Reception, Kia made us feel like we were truly having our original wedding as planned. She added touches to the decor, more than I could've imagined or asked for, that felt extremely personal/personable to our vision and my husband and I's relationship. She took the time to get to know us, find compassion for our situation, and truly asked all the right questions in order to perfect our day.

Kia also reached out to me and the venue as well as our caterer, and was extremely proactive in the event decor and planning with our venue to visit the space for us, as my husband and I now live across the country. I also always felt like Kia, even when she was unable to respond, immediately got in touch to let me know when she was able to discuss items further if she couldn't respond in that moment with 100% of her attention. That always gave me the sense that while I was not her only client, she worked as if I was her favorite client, taking the time to reach out even if she was unavailable at that moment. :)

While I am quite particular with what I was expecting and believe I provided a good amount of detail in my requests to Kia (I sent images of decor that I liked, descriptions, etc. to her throughout the process), she certainly surprised me with some gorgeous details - tiny items on our decorative shelves that meant a lot to us in their meaning, a full lounge set that matched our theme wonderfully, the way our arch was decorated when we said our vows, how the arch was perfectly positioned for great photos, and more. And did I mention that she remained under a very strict budget the entire time (of course until I asked for some extra stuff that increased it a tiny bit, but that was expected) while also adding extra details to the space? Her prices were super reasonable, and surprisingly reasonable considering how expensive renting decor can be.

Also, it's important to note that we had our event at Haven Street Ballroom which is a relatively blank canvas with which you can do any kind of decorating, and sometimes that makes a decorator's job more difficult, so I commend Kia for everything she did for us. The Decorating Queen was perfect in every way!
