History
Built in the late 1800s by the Parrot Silver and Copper Mining Co., this barn was part of the Parrot Smelter Mine. There were three other barns on site, and they were used as a reverberatory and calciner, a blacksmith shop, a machine shop, and a storehouse. In 1900, the town started to tear some of the buildings down after moving the smelter to the city of Anaconda. Today, all that remains from the original structures are the storehouse, now known as the Copper K Barn, and a smaller brick horse barn.
