The Chapel is a historic restaurant, music and wedding venue located in the Valencia corridor of San Francisco’s dynamic Mission District. Named as one of the 10 most beautiful music venues in California by California Home and Design magazine, this former 1914 mortuary has been beautifully renovated by Bay Area restauranteur Jack Knowles and features wood, stained glass, chandeliers and ironwork. Whether you have 8 guests or 800, The Chapel offers a turnkey approach and expert events team for a memorable and stress-free wedding experience.

This gorgeous building houses a chapel, restaurant, bar and large patio that combines the warmth of original wood detailing with modern touches and a vibrant social scene. The original chapel with a 40-foot-high arched ceiling has been updated with state-of-the-art sound, lighting and projection systems. This venue provides versatile indoor and outdoor event spaces for wedding ceremonies and receptions to accommodate up to 750 wedding guests. Event spaces include the following:

This spot worked out great for our rehearsal dinner, as we were looking for something hip and different and local in character. We rented out space at the chapel's vestry restaurant for our rehearsal dinner for 50 people. Originally we were going to have it out on the patio but it got moved because of rain inside to the chapel bar. The events manager helping us coordinate, Patricia Gums, was helpful off the bat, and the Vestry customized a menu and the space to exactly what we wanted. Everyone had a good time and the rehearsal dinner turned into a bar evening with out-of-town friends, without having to move. Check it out.
