We are using Rookies and Cookies for our wedding cake, because it was provided in our reception package through our vendor. We have not yet received cake, because our wedding is on 9-19-15. So i am writing this review based solely on our experience thus far (correspondence, scheduling, cake tasting, facility etc) I will update after my wedding with any further reviews.
When i called to book an appointment for cake tasting and to discuss the design of our cake- it seemed like i was an inconvenience to them. Whoever answered the phone seemed rushed and uninterested in helping. I had to basically guide the whole conversation. After 10 minutes of total confusion i got off the phone without a date to meet. I was told someone would call back by end of the day to confirm a date. A week later I did receive a call back. I was told that i needed to know the budget from package provided and to bring pictures of what i wanted. I was under the understanding that Rookies provides all the cakes for this venue and the packages are set- so i thought for sure that rookies and my venue had a set price or at least would communicate with each other to make it easier for the couples who had bought the packages out of shear convenience.
Our experience did get better once we met with the owner (or baker, not sure). She had pre-packaged cake samples for us to try and once we established what we were wanting, she helped us further with the designs.
The facility itself seems to be a little cluttered and unorganized. but it might just appear that way because its a very small space.
If the cake wasnt included with package, we probably wouldnt have chosen Rookies and cookies but I think overall we will be pleased with the services they are providing. If you are seeking a local bakery or are working on a budget, Id say this would be a good choice for you!
