Doug was great! He got everyone at my wedding on their feet the whole night! We had a whole lot of fun and he was very accommodating to the bride and grooms request. 10/10, he was very affordable and easy to work with!

Mike was our DJ and his adorable girlfriend ran the photo booth. They were a great pair. Everyone had a great time, even my 89 year old grandmother that was wheel chair bound. They will ensure all guests will leave the party with a smile!

My husband and I got married earlier this month, and we couldn’t be happier that we chose Lazer Labs to DJ for our wedding! They took all the stress out of that part of our big day and handled absolutely everything. From the ceremony to the reception, everything went off without a hitch. Doug was great at keeping the party going at the reception, and all of my guests had so much fun with the photo booth too! Overall we just had an awesome experience, and I would definitely recommend to anyone out there looking for a DJ for any event!

I'm writing this review in regards to the experience that I've had with Laser Labs DJs services. We booked Lazer labs after seeing them perform at a friends wedding reception. They were great, far better than anything else that I had seen in the past.

Unfortunately, my ex-fiance called off the wedding 40 days until the event. That meant calling all of the vendors I was responsible for and giving them the news. I read over the contract and it was stated, "Cancellation of services less than 90 days from event date are still liable for full payment." That meant that I was still responsible for a thousand plus dollars.

I called and spoke with Doug. After explaining my situation, Doug replied "We do not like profiting from someone else's misfortune. In the future please go out and tell other couples about our services." We settled on the money owed! I was so relieved, I asked if there was something I could do. He said yes... "Writea review about your experience with us." So here it is... great DJ service and even better people.

My husband James & I got married on October 28, 2017. We had the best experience working with Doug Crawford & his company, Lazer Labs DJ’s & Photo Booths. Starting from our very first meeting, he was very quick to respond to our online inquiry & allowed us to meet with him at his home showroom. We were amazed at the quality & quantity of his equipment as well as the knowledge he possessed to help us paint a picture of what our ceremony & reception would look like. We loved his personality, enthusiasm for his craft & eagerness to get to know us in order to pick the best music selections for us & our guests. With over 30 years of experience, he was not only able to share great ideas of things that have worked well in the past, but he was also very attentive to our preferences & incorporated everything together so beautifully. Doug & his assistant Jacob worked so well together the day of the wedding. We didn’t have to worry about a thing because they made sure the day flowed so smoothly, from the initial set up, to our ceremony & on to our reception. They were excellent at both coordinating all the wedding festivities (i.e. announcements & directing the fun wedding activities) & entertaining our guests. Our guests had the best time!!! We heard nothing but great reviews, from the song selections to his ability to keep the party going. And the lighting & special effects were awesome & created the perfect party atmosphere. Doug kept everyone on the dance floor the whole evening. Everyone still talks about how much fun they had at our wedding & reception. We would highly recommend Doug & his team & wouldn’t hesitate to call him again for another special event.

Doug isn't bad at the act of DJing perse, but listening, preparing, customizing a night for wedding couple, and following through on requested material is a different story.

To Doug's credit he agreed to take a smaller fee than what he said he is used too and he by no means spoiled our night. We didn't have time to break away and course correct him and we enjoyed our time with friends and family.

However, there were many aspects of his service that fell way short of our expectations for the night.

To begin with, we had gone to the trouble of filling out forms showing our requested songs, in addition to Doug's standard playlist, along with an outline for the evening. Apart from the ceremony music and the song we chose for our first dance, he appears to have thrown all our requests out or ignored them. We had deliberately chosen a few line dance songs such as "Men in Black" that we had our heart set on, and none were played.
We had our wedding on Halloween and requested some seasonal spooky favorites. We talked about this with him at length multiple times during our consultations. But none of these were played until we took it upon ourselves to tell him to play Thriller during the night of the event.
We had also talked with him about the traditional hora dance and provided him with a link to the version of accompanying song hava nagila we preferred. It was on the schedule but he also failed to initiate the hora until we told him to, which he did with a different song version than we requested. He also denied it was even on the agenda and was very rude to my mother when she told him it was needed.

We chose to include the shoe game and picked a script for our friends to read from. And Doug, of course, read from a different script by himself. We chose our own script questions to fit my wife and I because a standard selection isn't universal. For instance the question about who is the better driver, which Doug asked, is kinda dumb given that my wife doesn't drive...

My wife also insisted to him that we did not want an "anniversary dance" for the longest married couple at the reception but he went and did it anyway.

During our consultations Doug talked at length about the span of his experience and how he knows what works and what doesn't. I don't doubt he's been doing this a long time and he did share some valuable insights. However, while flashing his credentials initially gave us confidence, as we approached the wedding it became more of an annoying distraction.
He even turned down consulting with my wife about fine details in the days leading up to the wedding, saying it could wait. For God's sake, I even had to correct his pronunciation of my wife's name the day before.
Doug seems to be the kind of person often convinced he knows best, or rather better than others, even when he definitely does not. To an extent, parts of the evening felt more like "The Doug Show" (guest staring the bride and groom). Than the wedding we envisioned. A few of our friends in attendance recognized Doug from past events he's worked and seemed to confirm this kind of arrogance and disregard for client needs is typical for him.

I can't do my wedding again but save yourself some buyers remorse by not hiring him.
