Wow. Our guests said this was the best 'wedding band' they had ever seen, and that is coming from some rather snobby big city visitors! Joan Zen did an amazing job. We had their whole 6 piece band at our wedding in Seeley Lake and they nailed every single song - no requests from us but their choices were spot on for how to keep 100 wedding guests of all ages from all over the country dancing all night. Highly recommend this talented group. Deb's voice is incredible. Jason's sax solos were beloved. They even had a party lightshow setup to make it feel extra dancy. Joan Zen is phenomenal. Joan Zen is an all timer band! We booked this band before we booked anything else for our wedding. Since we first danced to Joan zen at the union club 8 years ago, my wife and I knew this was the only music we could want for our magical day- and they did not disappoint!

The dancing hours were so vibrant, intuitive, and joyful. They seamlessly integrated with our little third line brass band that marched us over from dinner and launched us into our first dance with gusto! It was perfect!
I cannot recommend this crew highly enough. They were responsive, and flexible when we had to pivot where they were playing due to rain. They rocked the walls of the barn down and their music was one of our guests favorite parts of the whole day! We’d book them a thousand times over!

Joan Zen was the perfect band for our son and daughter-in-law‘s wedding! They went above and beyond the entire time we were planning to make sure they communicated well and helped us edit songs and make great suggestions along the way. While many wedding vendors expect you to fit in their box. Deb went above and beyond to try to say yes to all of our requests and was so supportive and kind. She not only helped us with music but also was just very supportive. They are flexible and able to adjust when needed. Deb‘s voice is amazing and added so much to the dance party! They were amazing at getting everyone on the dance floor and encouraging everyone to have a great evening. We loved having them and would highly recommend them to anyone considering them for their wedding band.

This band absolutely crushed at our wedding!! From learning and nailing our first dance song, a Susan Tedeschi gem (which tells you everything you need to know about their vocal talent), to their communication, timeliness/professionalism, and overall loveliness as humans, they were excellent to work with from start to finish. Their repertoire is extensive, including soul, funk, r&b, blues, and jazz which kept the dance floor full and the place to be.

I can’t count the number of times people asked us where we found them and to please share their contact info. Even our caterer wanted to know. Our guests kept sharing that they felt like they got the bonus of attending a live concert by attending our reception. It was pure magic.

Our organization hires Joan Zen to play at our community events every year and they are always an absolute hit. We can’t say enough good things about Joan Zen – they were truly exceptional in every regard and an absolute highlight of our wedding! From the very beginning, they were incredibly responsive, professional, and easy to work with. Not only were they willing to travel out of state to perform at our event, but they also took the time to learn a few special songs for our first dance and other key moments. On the day of, they brought the perfect vibe – a soulful, funky energy with a mix of reggae classics that had everyone on the dance floor.
