Joanie was absolutely wonderful throughout the whole wedding process!
In the beginning we went with her because she communicated so well with us and clearly had so much experience that was so helpful in creating a timeline for our DIY wedding. We're not usually big picture people but through the engagement photos she really took her time to help us learn how to pose and put us at ease.
Wedding day she was great at herding everyone around and keeping us on schedule, everyone loved her (had multiple people after tell us how awesome she was), and she just struck the perfect balance of posing us for beautiful photos while also getting good candids and letting us fully experience our day.
10/10 would recommend her!

We absolutely loved working with Joanie and Joanie Clay Photography for our wedding.

When we were looking for photographers we wanted to find someone who could capture the natural beauty of a moment. When we first met with Joanie we instantly clicked and the work she showed us was beautiful. Her use of natural light was one of the biggest draws when we decided to go with her as a photographer.

Working with Joanie was a pleasure the entire time. We did our engagement photographs in Piedmont Park and not only did she make us feel comfortable in a scenario we aren't used to, but she produced the most beautiful engagement photographs that we loved. Even my now husband, who really did not want to do an engagement shoot in the first place, said how much he enjoyed the shoot and was glad that we did it.

Prior to the wedding based on our wishes Joanie put together a schedule for photographs which was so helpful. It put a framework for us as to when we would be doing what. We did a first look and photos of the family and wedding party before the ceremony and then a few after the ceremony. It was very timely and you can tell she knows exactly what she is doing! It was great because we got the wedding photos we loved but were also able to enjoy the rest of our wedding!

I cannot express the professionalism and great work that she does. She is very responsive via both phone and e-mail and is always there if you have questions or concerns. On the day of our wedding she arrived early at the venue to look around and scout the location. She captured all the moments that we requested and more. All of our guests who have seen the photographs have commented on how beautifully done they are.

We received our photos and album in the mail in a timely matter and we love them all.

We would highly recommend Joanie Clay Photography to anyone who is looking for a wedding photographer. We look forward to hopefully using Joanie in the future for other big events!

Joanie was the most wonderful person to have do our photos! She worked around Adam's deployment for our engagement photos and was wonderful the day of our wedding. I am speechless of how beautiful our wedding day pictures are and how she truly captured how much we love each other and how amazing our day was.

She was excellent to work with through and through! Prompt initial response. Professional follow-thru. Amazing photos that i will have for a lifetime!

DO NOT USE JOANIE FOR YOUR WEDDING!
I was less than impressed with her on our engagement photos she never even wanted us to kiss she had no creativeness in the photos I felt like as much as I was paying her I shouldn't have to set us up for the photos.
When we tried to get out of the contract for the wedding and go with someone else she wouldn't let us and we were 7 months out.
She showed up on the day of the wedding and was nice. she didn't get a lot of the guys getting ready when she could have been the second shooter we paid for never once picked up a camera.
She didn't get the shots of my dad serving us communion and when I asked her what happened she said she didn't know he was going to do it. (Even though the announced that my dad would be serving us communion).
SHE IS BY FAR THE ONLY REGRET ON THE DAY OF THE WEDDING I HAVE!!!!
she had us leave the reception early to do a "fake leave" which was fine. however she didn't even bother to get a good picture of it. Luckily we had a fabulous videographer who set up one last shot and joanie managed to get it .... but we don't have a leaving picture or a picture of my dad serving us communion. Nor do we have half of the photos that I sent her asking her to capture.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE DO NOT USE HER!!!! BEWARE she says that her 13 years of experience makes her the top in the game.,... bad choice on my part.
