I would like to start off by saying that Eric was great both times we met him prior to the event. He was very enthusiastic and seemed like he knew a lot about what he was doing. At our meetings we specifically discussed that we did not want any prayers, blessings, etc at our reception. I also made a list of our songs that we wanted to be played (including first dances). We prepaid for the wedding in advance. Eric showed up early to set up, and included an outside set up for the ceremony, which was great. He did not, howeve, include a microphone for our officiate, as he stated he would when we met. When it was time for introductions and the reception he asked me what our first song would be. I was very disappointed because I was literally put on the spot after having just had a wedding ceremony. I picked one of our songs, but not the song we originally chose (and I double checked after the wedding that I sent him a text message specifically outlining the songs - and he had written it at one of our meetings). Following that, one of my bridesmaids informed me she had to stop him from blessing the food. I also had to remind him about three times (because he kept asking) that we did not want to do a garter toss. During the toasts he was very gracious and did his own toast, however when he told us to "put God first" it upset me a little since we had discussed our feelings about that previously. One final thing that upset me was that he did not include some things in the reception we had discussed. We were supposed to have a "money dance" and a centerpiece giveaway, neither of which occurred. Overall, he did a good job, and it certainly didn't ruin our reception. I just wish he would have paid a bit more attention to our wants, as he stated over and over again that it was our day.

I booked him 4 months ago; he called me literally less than 60 days before my wedding to cancel! Super upset and disappointed. He said some other venue double booked him. To me, you shouldn’t be in contract with venues that lock you in 60 days before the event. He did give me a recommendation for another DJ that I’ve never heard of, but why can’t he fill in for the other event since I booked him first? Ugh, super frustrated. With COVID wedding planning, this is the last thing I needed.
