Dixon Darling

Dixon performed the music for both our ceremony and our reception. He played and sang as our wedding party walked down the aisle, as I walked down the aisle, he performed a hymn for our time of communion, and he performed the song for our exit.

During the reception, he was excellent at guiding the events of the reception along from the cake cutting to the first dances to the toasts and releasing people to get food, everything was handled seamlessly. Dixon is very focused on the details and ensuring the overall process runs smoothly and is enjoyable from the guest and couple's perspective. I didn't have to remind him of anything or nudge him, he was very aware and I just got to enjoy my wedding reception.

Dixon is very personable and engaging but also highly professional. His set for our reception was wide-ranging and guests of all ages and music tastes enjoyed it, which was fun to see. My grandmother knew some of the songs that he played, as did my parents and new inlaws, and our wedding party and guests in-between all of these ages. He played the songs for our first dances and our father/daughter and mother/son dance and it was so incredibly special.

We live-streamed our wedding and multiple people who watched it on zoom have since commented to me that they thought I was playing a CD through a sound system because Dixon was so flawless and talented and only when the camera panned over to him as we were exiting and they saw him playing that they realized it was a live musician and were very impressed. His sound system is one of the best I've heard from a live musician.

We selected our songs for the ceremony/reception events and sent them to Dixon a few weeks ahead of time and he learned them for us. If you're going to have live music at your wedding, I cannot recommend Dixon enough.
