About Daniel Martinez

Daniel Martinez is an acclaimed Flamenco and Latin Classical guitarist, composer, and teacher originally from Iquitos, Peru. Daniel discovered his passion for guitar in his early teens, encouraged by his mother. What began as a spark quickly became a calling, leading him to rigorous classical training and success in national guitar competitions.

With an international performance career spanning Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, and the United States, Daniel has become a master of diverse musical styles. His specialties include Flamenco, Classical, Rumba, Bossa Nova, Bolero, Smooth Jazz, and Latin Jazz. His five solo instrumental recordings and numerous collaborations have earned him a reputation as both a dynamic performer and a sought-after educator.

Daniel currently serves as a guitar professor at Nebraska Wesleyan University and Union Adventist University. He is the founder and owner of Daniel Martinez Music, and a teaching and touring artist through the Nebraska Arts Council, as well as a Teaching Artist for The Lied Center for Performing Arts. His educational and performance work has also been featured by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

In addition, Daniel is a frequent collaborator with Pacific Press, Chapel Records, 3ABN, and Loma Linda Broadcast Network. In 2023, he was honored with the Lincoln Mayor’s Arts Award, and he performed for GRAMMY Nominee Joyful Noise at Salem Baptist Church. He was also selected to present as a pre-opener for four-time GRAMMY Award-winner Poncho Sanchez.

In 2023, Daniel was awarded the "Here's to the Heroes Award."

In 2025, Martinez was also awarded the "2025 Nebraska Outstanding Governor Artist Award."
