We ordered a tent for the deck at Eastport based on the size suggested by another tent renter in Peoria. We asked the venue employee what size we should use and she told us to trust the tent company. Well, apparently the tent company was wrong because once Mr. Cook arrived to install our tent, he saw that the deck shape did not accommodate what he had and he would have to put two small ones together. Although Mr. Cook charges less than the other tent rental company, this unexpectedly doubled the price of the tent, 5 hours before the wedding so it was kind of stressful. He had to ask if there were any other men who could help he and his 3 assistants since there was no elevator at the venue to transport parts up and the job just doubled. My father and brother eventually came to help but that was another stress, wondering if he would be able to get both tents up before his next job. In the end, everything was built to the best of their ability since the deck was oddly shaped and the misinformation of the deck size wasn't his fault. It looked really nice but even with the two tent heaters, guests were very cold on the breezy April night on the river. So many of them crammed inside by the bar and we wished that the tent could have been secured against the outside air better with less gaping holes or more heaters provided. In retrospect, I would still hire Mr. Cook but measure the area yourself rather than depending on another company's suggestion. If he does not have a big tent to fit the shape of the deck and you have to use the two small ones put together like we did, please make sure he can close it as much as possible or provide more heaters if the event is before May.
