Some for the production of honey, and others for the University of Colorado and Colorado State University bee research labs. These beekeepers use local materials, including rough-sawn Colorado timber to build beehives, and hand-graft resilient local queen stock to propagate beehives that thrive. All of the honey sold from Boulder Valley Honey was produced from the bees themselves, and has been carefully cataloged to understand the floral differences in each different forage area.
